We stayed at La Sommita after our wedding in Ostuni, and from the moment we were picked up and brought to the hotel, everything was exceptional. The staff are wonderfully friendly, courteous, and professional, they truly make this hotel stand out. We were delighted to be upgraded to a suite, which was absolutely stunning. The view from the terrace was breathtaking and the perfect spot to enjoy a sunset spritz.

The breakfast buffet was excellent, offering plenty of variety and fresh options. We would wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Ostuni. It captures the authentic charm of Puglia, has the intimacy of a boutique hotel, and feels absolutely perfect.

The staff was so attentive to our every question and need and were so pleasant every step of the way. From the front desk to the driver and everyone during our stay. The hotel was first class, clean, great views, food and easy access. We even had help with our Italian language tips along the way! Can't say enough good things about the people and the property.

Hotel is gorgeous! Located centrally to all dining/shopping in Ostuni. A quick 20 min drive to stunning beach/coves and beach clubs where you can safely go swimming.
Breakfast was excellent and hotel staff very attentive.

We had prepaid and received a confirmation and when we arrived at the hotel, they told us the room was booked twice by mistake and had to cancel our room.

The hotel is impossible to get to by car and resuires carrying the bagage walking a long way, we would definitely not recommend this hotel.

These are meant as constructive criticism.

Finding a meeting spot when first arrived in Ostuni turned into an hour ordeal as Waze kept re-routing us. Street names sometimes posted so difficult to find. Guests should park somewhere in Ostuni and call the hotel and let them come to where you are located. Ostuni is a relatively small, charming town.

The staff projected our needs and fulfilled them as well accommodating everything we asked without hesitation. Thank you La Sommita staff.

If you can't walk up hills, then be aware that La Sommita is at the top of the highest hill in Ostuni behind the main Church. We found the walk relatively easy and especially after going to dinner in the main Piazza an enjoyable walk. We are a relatively older couple.

We enjoyed the terrace, pool, and all the amenities.

The hotel is absolutely beautiful. The photos don’t do the property justice.

The staff was absolutely amazing. My daughter and I stayed here in May 2024. We arrived in the early evening after driving all day. We didn’t want to have a real dinner so after talking to a manager, Salvatore, he arranged to have the chef prepare us “something” to enjoy on one of their terraces to enjoy the sunset! It couldn’t have been more perfect!

Everyone was wonderful, the servers, the front desk employees, their drivers. We decided upon arrival that we didn’t want to move our car from the parking lot to visit Lecce the following day so the hotel arranged a driver for us. It was perfect!

The room was beautiful, large and had a steam shower with a waterfall!

We highly recommend this hotel!!

Disappointed with the stay

Our room was very loud (number 15), so if you get given that room change immediately as you will not get much sleep in there are people in the restaurant. The pool was quite dirty, the amenities were old fashioned, no coffee machine in the room which I would expect at a 5 star hotel. The service was good at breakfast and the breakfast was nice. Overall I would not stay again as I don’t think it’s worth the money at all.

This hotel was a truly 5 Star Hotel. We stayed in a suite and it was really cool and big. The Hotel offered a shuttle service that helped get to a train station and even took us to the restaurants. The staff was amazing ready to help in any way and to make sure that our stay was unforgettable.
Would definitely stay again. Great location in a beautiful Ostuni.

Beautiful views as property sits high above the city. Unfortunately due to cool weather there were limited options to enjoy outside space.
Front desk very helpful and friendly with dinner suggestions and reservations.
Hotel rooms are very loud as the structure and design accentuates all sounds, voices and doors closing etc.
Bed set up on platform in middle of room makes the space seem smaller even though large room. You have to walk around the bed which has an additional step down to the floor. Kind of odd and really limits function of room.
Enjoyed our 5 nights and price was reasonable.
Fabulous breakfast daily with friendly staff.

Fabulous Property in Ostuni

I booked a stay in Ostuni well in advance of our trip and spoke extensively with the front desk staff with all my questions. Everyone was very helpful. We selected one of the largest rooms with its own private patio that had views of the sea. Unfortunately it rained the entire time we were there so we couldn’t utilize the patio but it would have been fabulous. Our room had a large whirlpool tub which was nice, given the fact that the weather was not cooperative. The tub does look like it needs some updating, though, as some parts didn’t work properly but it worked well enough for us. We were grateful to have it.

The room was spotless and the bed was lovely. The entire property is kept so nicely. I had made to order crepes each morning for breakfast and my husband had omelettes. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating.

The only issue we had with the property was the lack of a bar. They had a bar but there were not many options for mixers and they had no beer! There was also no beer or liquor in the mini bar in the room. This is not something we would expect from a five star hotel. And it would have been helpful due to the weather, if we had the option of having drinks in our room. Otherwise, everything was great and I would stay there again, without hesitation.

Not at all a luxury hotel. Room was tiny and uncomfortable even for European standards. (deluxe w/ terrace) There was no pool side service. Literally sat by the pool with no one there and never received towels, water, or anything basic. Location is great but that is it. I wouldn’t stay here again,

You Absolutely Mustn’t Stay Anywhere Else! 5 Stars

We were pleasantly surprised at how luxurious this hotel was. The staff were over the top with customer service. The room was more like an apartment in size and was unique and truly lovely. Daily breakfast was beautiful and plentiful with home made, organic everything. Dinner in the Michelin Star restaurant was a special treat. The property is called the summit for a reason—the views were spectacular. The manager was always on site, checking in to see how everyone was and if anything needed. Walk out the front door and your just steps from everything. We would never stay anywhere else.
All that being said our room barely heated and the only solution was to change rooms. We loved the room so much though so we didn’t change—we opted for more blankets. Hot water was also an issue after day one though we never informed the management because again we loved all else so much. Tip: if plan to arrive by car, contact hotel in advance for instructions on how to access as you won’t drive to hotel—they will immediately collect you from parking lot.

n absolute gem of a hotel in historic town

We were thrilled to find this hotel during my 7 week trip around Italy w friends. The location is amazing and the views are stunning.

The hotel is located in the historic city center and has been built without changing the exterior but the interior is a mixture of contemporary with a definite nod in the furnishings to the historic past.

The staff are truly dedicated to service. You can’t drive up to the hotel. Go to a parking lot and call and they will come get you. They will also get you from train station 10 minutes away.

Ostuni Is a perfect spot to explore Puglia. The historic area in Ostuni Is jam packed with excellent restaurants and prices are quite reasonable. During the late morning there are many tour groups but they disappear and you have the area to yourself later in the day however you will likely be off exploring other villages too during the day.

We spent five nights at the hotel and each day went out to other towns to explore. There are so many wonderful spot to see including Ostuni itself.

We were very happy with the lovely breakfast spread and our room. Beds were very comfortable. The room was extremely clean and had turndown service.

There are terraces in which you can have drinks and meals. Wonderful views. We were very happy there.

La Sommita - amazing stay in Ostuni, Puglia

La Sommita is an exquisite hotel in Ostuni - an amazing location and unique accommodation. We stayed in the Master Suite which as well as being wonderful with stone vaulted ceilings, is possibly the most unique room I have ever had, literally in the walls of the city with some walls at least a metre thick. The Michelin 1 star restaurant is a must do, we had an amazing dinner with very innovative food. Breakfast is also impressive. But the staff are the best - always smiling and so helpful, quite delightful. Everything is effortless. Would love to return for longer, Ostuni and La Sommita deserves more than 2 nights.

The general areas of the hotel are very good as are the staff who are friendly and eff8cient. We stayed in a deluxe room, big mistake!. The only window was about 2ft sq and 10 foot above ground level. The mattress should have been replaced and the air conditioning was in effective. We were given a fan but as you can imagine in 35 degree heat this was useless but as good as the ac. Food was very good so the summary of the review was good and bad in equal measure

Water pressures: shower & reasonable coffee prices

All the staffs are very friendly and superb.
Breakfasts are beautifully displayed and freshly beautifully cooked eggs/omelette and bacon.
My only 2 critical issues:
Water pressures on the shower were very poor.
Finally we were charged €21 for 2 cups of coffee ( local restaurants/cafes you properly pay €1.50-€2.50 for a cup of cafe latte )
But We are really enjoying our stay.

Probably the best hotel to stay in Ostuni, a lovely town in the Puglia region of Italy. The hotel is situated at the highest point of the city and has a dominant view of the surroundings, allowing you to get views all the way to the sea. A small, 15 room facility where the staff is ready to spoil you and ensure you have a great stay. Highly recommend the hotel.

Went on a spring break. It’s a great place to relax in the heart of Ostuni’s old town. Staff were extremely helpful and great place to explore Puglia. The breakfast was lovely. The restaurant is a bit pricey but there are lots of good restaurants nearby. The Spa was great and good value. We were lucky and our room was an upgrade, so had a wonderful time.

We absolutely loved this hotel based on the design, views, room comfort and staff. We had two rooms including the master suite which was huge and had an amazing bathroom with the jacuzzi in the middle of it as well as a private patio terrace overlooking the sea. The staff is very professional and arranged a wonderful tasting of wines, meats and cheeses from Puglia as part of our stay. We hope to return soon!

Well presented hotel, but 4 stars thinking that it's 6 stars. Some of the staff came over as snobbish, and pretentious. We got the feeling that we weren't dressed well enough for their taste. We entered the hotel on one occasion and the receptionist came racing after us and asked us condescendingly where we were going. I got the impression that they would have preferred an aging James Bond impersonator, wearing a blazer with a crest on the pocket. When the power went out in the room, it took a while to fix and there were no apologies at all. The breakfast is mediocre. Good car parking arrangements.

Perfect hotel in Ostuni.

I thought hotel was perfect. Most comfortable pillows on entire trip!
Could get anything you asked for. Enjoyed prosecco on patio one sunny afternoon and scotch inside on a cooler evening. The restaurant, Cielo, which is attached to the property also had great breakfast and provided our best meal in Italy.

Absolutely beautiful hotel in a charming town. Impeccable design, very comfortable and friendly service. The only challenge is driving to the hotel. There is a parking facility, but it's quite a ways from the hotel and there is nothing in the reservation process that would guide you there. When making a reservation, they need to provide you with directions to the parking facility and the number to call for transportation to the hotel. To actually drive to the hotel itself is impossible.
