Incredibly friendly staff, great breakfast, the location is really good and the free coffee at all times is very nice. The room smelled a bit like old plumbing, and the corridors are very narrow. Overall a good hotel, but definitely not accessible. My spouse is an ambulatory wheelchair user and we knew the hotel didn’t list itself as wheelchair accessible and we booked it anyway because it was close to the train station and pet friendly. It’s on us for booking while being aware of it, but accessibility should definitely be considered a priority in 2026, especially since it also helps people with luggage and parents with strollers.

Room was clean but basic and very worn. Blinds let lots of light in and my curtain was coming away from the tracks. Falls short of the standard for Denmark based on the price we payed. No kettle or toiletries apart from soap next to sink. Bed was basic but ok for 1 night. Breakfast was nice, coffee not great out of a machine. I wouldn’t return if I’m honest.

We chose the Milling Hotel Ansgar for its proximity to the train station and the old section of Odense. The room was small but adequate. The staff was very helpful and the breakfasts were very good. It was a comfortable walk to all the attractions including the H.C. Anderson house and the Carl Nielson museum. The only thing we found disappointing was the room lighting, which was too dim.

Hotel was conveniently about 6 mins' walk from the train station. And near to a local supermarket (about 5 mins' walk). It was also easy to walk to all the nearby attractions like HC Andersen House & the main shopping street in Odense.

It's a great location, but still overpriced for the basic rooms. The room was very dim after sunset, the lamps are naked lightbulbs that do nothing to brighten the room. The shower is just in a corner of the bathroom with nowhere to put any bottles besides the floor.

Hotel is 10 mins walk from train station. You can walk to the tourist destination. Rooms are comfortable and of good size. Has no kettle or fridge. Has no air cond but has a fridge of it is hot. Good breakfast.

Staff was truly a LIFESAVER!
OMG! Signe, the receptionist/bartender/concierge was WONDERFUL! One of our party decided to check out the train station, a 5 minute walk from the hotel, at 10PM. Signe gave her a map and directions. After an hour Signe offered to go search for our comrade when she got off, at 11pm. 10 minutes later she appeared back at the hotel with our slightly frantic, lost friend! We were SO relieved!

Best thing about this hotel is proximity to the train station. The staff were pleasant and room/hotel adequately clean. The room lacked a safe, but biggest issue was the elevator. It took me up to the third floor, bur the door wouldn't open. I managed to get down to the first floor, and the door finally opened. I complained to the front desk, who assured me that it would be checked. At checkout I got stuck again for a few minutes- not good!

Rigtig god beliggenhed. Det er dog ikke særlig egnet til små børn. Vi havde på forhånd fået at vide, at der “ikke var plads” til en tremmeseng på det værelse, vi havde bestilt (på trods af, at der var fin plads på værelset, ligesom vores barn fremgik af bookingen). Vi fik derfor at vide, at vores barn i stedet skulle sove i dobbeltsengen, hvilket havde været fint, hvis sengen var egnet til det - 2 boxmadrasser med 2 separate topmadrasser, så man lå i en revne. Derudover meget lydt.

Det er god beliggenhet, gratis parkering (hvis ledig plass), rent rom og god frokost. Men det er veldig lytt til gangen (gliper i døren) og alle andre rom, dører kan ikke lukkes uten å smelle igjen (så man vekkes av alle som kommer og går), det er ikke varme på badet (og det er veldig lite), det vibrere svakt i sengen når noen går i gangen eller trikken kjører forbi, viften på badet bråker veldig og er koblet til lyset så kan ikke skrus av om man er på badet og trenger lys. Sparedusj og dusjforheng. Det finnes nok andre hotell jeg heller vil anbefale, men de er hyggelige der og om man sover uansett hva, er det nok bra nok. Rent og ryddig.

Vi var der.
Frygtelig koldt værelse, selvom vi skruede op på fuld varme da vi kom til aften kl. 17/18, så måtte vi ligge under begge dyner for at få varmen, da vi skulle sove. Man kunne mærke på væggene at selv tapet ikke fæstnede på de kolde vægge. Når der er så koldt på rummet, så bør de tænde før folk kommer. Der er ingen føntørre på værelset og håndsæben hænger mere ved bruseren end ved vasken. Dejligt med fri kaffe og den glutenfri bolle til morgenmaden smagt godt.

Hotel Milling Ansgar ligger rigtig godt placeret og gør et solidt førstehåndsindtryk. Værelset var rent, pænt og funktionelt, og personalet i receptionen var både høflige og hjælpsomme. Det er et plus med gratis kaffe og snacks i lobbyen – en lille detalje, der gør det lidt mere personligt.
