Nice place but old furniture in rooms. Giving me soviet area vibes. Staff was friendly, nice and accommodating.
The area around is not the nicest but the old city is not that far away.

We really enjoyed our stay at this property. Booked the maisonette for a family of 4 which was perfect. Rooms were good size, breakfast buffet had a great selection, pools were nice. Gym could be improved as well as an omelet station at breakfast! Overall great value and convenient location-10-15 min walk to Old Town. Beach just down the street on from of he property. Would recommend!

The members of staff were amazing, some of the best customer service I’ve ever experienced. Great people, great food and the room was perfect. I’d definitely give more stars if possible and will of course be back when I’m next in Crete.

Comfortable Stay in a Great Location Near Rethymno

I stayed at Theartemis Palace for two nights during a longer trip to Crete and found it to be an excellent base for exploring Rethymno. The hotel is well-located, just a short walk from the charming old town, making it easy to enjoy the area's rich history and vibrant atmosphere. The property itself is stylish, well-maintained, and offered a high standard of comfort throughout my stay. Overall, a pleasant and convenient choice for anyone visiting this part of Crete.

Nice place that's very close to the water

We stayed here for about 4 nights and everything went well. There are two sections of the palace...one where the hotel reception is connected to and the other is a stand along building across the street.

We've read online that one of the sections was the \"newer\" renovated one and I think that was the section with the hotel reception. We stayed in other section across the street and it was fine. It doesn't look so outdated that you can tell/feel it's vastly different.

Every night, there is some type of special music or performance by the pool. That was a nice touch and appreciated. Everyone is very friendly as well.

We opted for the daily parking of 8 euros and that came in pretty handy. There can be street parking but it is limited and you will have to drive around the side streets for one.

The hotel is a bit outdated. Nice location, walkable to old city. Staff is friendly. Check in process is annoying. You need to fill up the information when you already have it on the reservation. If you want to use safe, you have to pay for it. Pool has a nice size, decent breakfast food. In order to get beach towel, you need to walk to the spa to get it and then return it, otherwise you will be charged 20 euro per towel.

Lovely spacious hotel with very friendly staff. We stayed in the building across the road from the main hotel. Rooms were big with a balcony and the shower was very good. The air con was good. There was no corridor noise or from the road. Staff were super friendly at all times. The hotel had a gym which I wanted to use but found some of the equipment not usable posing some safety issues-.the rower foot straps are broken and the treadmill foot covering is warped. Also it is not supervised so children were in there messing around on the equipment lots of days. We had a lovely stay, breakfast was good- lots of choice.
It was about a 20 minute walk into the old town along the beach road. The beach is only 5 mins away and is lovely. Plenty of good restaurants a few mins walk away

Beautiful high rise hotel with a pool and option for all inclusive package. Poolside drinks and snacks are offered as well as a live duet in the evening poolside. Buffet dinner at a reasonable price in the evening is offered if you don’t choose the all inclusive option. Parking is a challenge but you can pay extra to park your car in their lot.

Lovely hotel close to Rethymno old town (about a 15 minute walk). Staff were friendly and happy to help. The hotel was very modern which we liked and the pool was a good temperature and great for when it was hot during the day. Would recommend if your planning to go to Rethymno

Wonderful, modern hotel. Friendly staff, got a room upgrade which was greatly appreciated. The buffet was also great with loads of choices and couldn't fault.
Facilities were everything I needed. Pool (which looks beautiful at night like a star lit sky), gym, spa, comfortable seating throughout the hotel, great balcony overlooking the pool, close to the beach and about a 20 minute walk to the old town

A good stay!

We had a good stay at this hotel. We booked a superior room, the bathroom was refurbished. The room seemed fairly small compared to other hotels we have stayed in. The best rooms are the pool view as there is a busy road at the back of the hotel so you can experience lots of traffic noise. Breakfast is good and generally we found our stay good value for money. We dined in the old town every night approx 20 mins walk away which is beautiful.

What an absolute wonderful stay at the Theartemis Palace - Such lovely staff through out the building - especially Marianna/Sofia who was working the pool side most days - Nothing was ever a problem and she was incredibly friendly. Beautiful comfortable rooms - Lovely view of the Pool which I was so kindly given on arrival. Being a single traveller it was so nice to accommodated for. Lovely quiet pool - perfect for relaxing by and soaking those rays. Also Perfect location - 15mins from the old town which is a lovely walk with all kinds of restaurants along the way and 3min walk to the beach. I will definitely be back at some point to this gorgeous hotel.

Lovely 5 nights!

We had a lovely stay here! The staff are super friendly and very accommodating! I’m vegan and the staff gave me a selection of vegan meat, almond milk and cheeses for breakfast in addition to the buffet which was very kind! The room had a few flaws such as a broken lamp that had the cord taped back together, when we mentioned it wasn’t working they fixed the plug instead of swapping the lamp which was a bit of a safety concern for us. The room we stayed in was a bit loud at times but still a lovely room! I’d recommend paying more for the pool view as we had partial sea view but was a little loud sometimes from the street. Overall a wonderful stay and would stay again!

The best stay in Crete!

Our stay was absolutely amazing from start to finish! Visited to celebrate a birthday and Theartemis went above and beyond for us from being greeted with champagne and refreshments to a decorated room filled with balloons and a personalised big birthday cake! The food was lovely and had a good variety for our buffet breakfast and dinner which i was very pleased with. The service was spectacular, really was the best part of the 3 places we stayed in Crete Theartemis was definitely the best! Special thanks to the manager Eleni i believe her name was who also greeted us on arrival and checked with us throughout our stay. This was an amazing memorable stay and hope to come baxk soon! :) thank you Theartemis!

Only drawback is, as a city hotel, outdoor space is limited so the pool area and sunbeds are in shade for some of the day.

Decent stay!

Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Theartemis Palace. It is in a nice area of Rethymno, near a great beach boardwalk that we enjoyed taking walks on in the evening.

We booked the premium suite with jetted tub, which I'm not sure I would call 'premium'. We mostly loved the balcony and very comfortable lounge chairs. However, the balcony is not private at all - it sometimes feels that you are 'on display' for the other rooms because there is a full wall of glass windows looking onto the balcony and an open-air top (great for tanning, not great for privacy). Also, the room has a joining door with the other premium suite and there was a very loud couple next to us who made lots of noise in the middle of the night.

We also didn't have 10/10 cleaning service in the room. Some dirty cups were not taken out and the nespresso pods were only replenished when we asked. Also, we used a blanket that did not have a cover on it.

We had half-board and were surprised that dinner service did not include water (and 3 euro for one bottle of water is over priced!). We were generally satisfied with the meals but found the dishes themselves were hit or miss (though we did have some favorites).

All in all, it was a decent stay. Not sure I would make this one of my 'staple' places but it was good enough!

Fantastic holiday spot on Crete

We had amazing time in Theartemis hotel this summer. Hotel is recently renovated and everything looks new. Pool is very good. Lot of activities are organized in hotel (shows, concerts). Stuff is very friendly and professional. From reception, restaurant or any other part of the hotel you can feel real Greek hospitality.
Had fantastic experience from check in to check out.
Looking forward to visit it again in coming. Years.

Like: awesome ladies at the front desk. Very warm, competent, professional. Clean room though basic. Was upgraded to a room on high floor with view.

Don’t like:

1) they called me down to sign my registration. I checked “no” on form asking me if I wanted to get marketing email. Not sure the gentleman behind the counter liked that but it could be just in my head.

2) asked for recommendation on restaurants that do delivery, so I could watch soccer in my room and have pizza. Was told it was against hotel rules?!?!?! Not covid related btw.

3) pool towels are placed in a wing across the street at entrance of spa. You get a spa pitch if you go get towels there. 100 euros for a massage is what I pay at the Ritz close to Malibu. Seems high for a hotel with. 100 euro rooms.

4) ladies pitching spa services at the pool. Might be a better idea to change pricing strategy and do activities like 15 euro yoga to draw people to spa.

5) they need to get a real espresso machine for such a large hotel. It’s Greece after all. Good coffee is basic.

I wanted to give the hotel a five for the ladies at the front desk, the upgrade, the room, the facility and the bellhop. But also want to give it a 2 for the hotel rules/business interests first, guests second business strategy.

In all fairness I am comparing the hotel to some of the top hotels I’ve stayed at. It was good value for the money though! I think that’s what most guests were looking for.

Near to everything!

We had an excellent stay at the Theartemis Palace. It has an excellent location and is a short walk to the beach and shopping and restaurants. Our only issues were with the pool area as it was very slippery and dangerous. My 3 year old son and I slipped and fell. My son had to go to the hospital and have 3 stitches. There are many elderly people there and it is dangerous for them too. We felt much too young for the place. Only a very small number of families. The staff were very helpful and friendly.

Nice hotel close to the beach

We were just for a couple of nights but we really enjoyed it. Very close to the beach, not a long distance to the city centre (if required, a taxi would be around a fiver), very nice bedroom (double bed upstairs and twin downstairs), all clean and people were very friendly. Be aware they have two swimming pools, the main one can be too warm so take a look to the other one, deeper and way more refreshing!

L’hôtel est bien situé, propre et les prestations sont de qualité. Le personnel est accueillant et chaleureux. Les piscines de l’hôtel sont de belle taille et bien entretenues. La proximité de la mer est un réel avantage.

La chambre était propre et spacieuse, dommage en revanche qu’il n’y ai pas de prise de chaque côté du lit.

Nous avions prit la demi pension et que cela soit le petit déjeuner ou le dîner tout était très bon. En revanche il est dommage que toutes les boissons y compris l’eau soient payantes même en formule demi pension et que la seule option gratuite soit des petits verre d’eau qu’il faut très régulièrement demander et redemander au personnel étant donné qu’il n’y a pas de fontaine à eau ou carafe à disposition

Concernant le stationnement, il est facile de trouver des places gratuites dans la rue aux alentours de l’hôtel

En résumé un très bon hôtel avec des belles prestations mais avec quelques points à améliorer !

Muy buen hotel playero, a unos 150 m de la playa (3ª Linea). Con muchos servicios y recientemente renovado. El desayuno Buffet es excelente y el personal atento y eficaz. Tuvimos un par de incidencias con la habitación pero nos las resolvieron rápidamente y nos cambiaron a otra mejor ubicada.

Sehr schönes Hotel mit toller Lage, nur ein paar Minuten zum Strand, viele Restaurants und Einkaufsmöglichkeiten in der Nähe, hat drei tolle Pools, das Buffet am Morgen und Abend war sehr groß, vielfältig und lecker, das Personal war sehr freundlich und sympathisch, Zimmer waren sauber und Bad war renoviert, wir waren im Nebengebäude untergebracht, hier werden die Zimmer nach und nach renoviert, unser Zimmer war bis auf das Bad noch älter aber dafür sehr groß, Verbesserungsmöglichkeiten: im Bad neben der Dusche ist am Boden ein Abfluss, solange der Mistkübel darauf steht passt alles, wird er nachdem die Reinigungskraft im Zimmer war verschoben und steht nicht mehr direkt darauf, dann hat es im ganzen Zimmer nach Kanal gerochen

Wir waren im Trakt gegenüber. Die Zimmer waren schon abgewohnt und die Tür zum Gang sehr hellhörig. Am morgen begannen schon auf der Stasse die Müllabfuhr was auch nicht zu einem guten schlaf beitrug.
Die betten waren schon sehr durchgelegen.

Il THEARTEMIS è una struttura meravigliosa. Abbiamo trascorso un soggiorno splendido con il nostro bambino di 12 anni. Il personale dell'hotel gentilissimo e cordiale in tutte le richieste. La nostra camera tripla aveva il terzo letto/divano troppo duro per dormire ed immediatamente a seguito della mia richiesta hanno provveduto a fornire un topper che ha migliorato efficientemente la situazione. La posizione dell'hotel è a 150m dal mare che però purtroppo è spesso mosso e non sempre agibile. In compenso l'hotel ha una piscina stupenda con lettini e bar adiacente. Inoltre nell'area SPA ci sono altre 2 piscine più piccole e meno affollate dove potersi godere la vacanza. Il servizio di teli mare per la spiaggia/piscina fornisce asciugamani grandi e morbidi. Il ristorante dell'hotel consente di cenare/pranzare sia all'interno che all'esterno dove l'atmosfera è molto piacevole.

Välskött smed en lyxig känsla, två poolområden där vi föredrog det mindre pga lugnare och oftast lediga solsängar. Vi fick alltid plats att sitta utomhus och äta, mkt trevligare än inomhusmiljön. Vi är nöjda och jag tycker absolut att standarden är klart fyrstjärnig!

Sehr sauberes Hotel mit Top-freundlichen und zuvorkommenden Personal. Wir waren sehr positiv überrascht! Gute Struktur und Ablauf im Restaurant. Das Essen war von der Menge an Auswahl überschaubar aber dafür hat alles sehr gut geschmeckt. Wer etwas Ruhe haben will, der nutzt den Außen- oder Innenpool im Nebengebäude. Der Stand ist fußläufig in 5 Minuten erreichbar ebenso wie diverse Einkaufsmöglichkeiten, die Old Town Rethymno in ca 20 - 25 Minuten.
Wir würden jederzeit wieder hier buchen.
