The hotel is located on the far end of the Medina, in the Sandillon district, named after the builder of the first windmill in Essaouira. It is next to the Squalla and the ramparts of Essaouira and is the only riad in front of the ocean in Morocco.
Access to public transport is around 300 m from the hotel and the beach is about 30 m away. Built in 2008, the hotel is entirely renovated with all the details to provide guests with comfort.
In this haven of peace, the cordial 24-hour reception and check-out service in the lobby will constantly give the feeling of being at home. The professional staff are at guests' disposal to ensure an excellent service.
Very accessible, the hotel respects the most demanding reception standards, including lift access, wide corridors and large openings to offer better mobility for everyone. The hotel offers a total of 45 guest rooms, as well as a hotel safe, TV lounge, café and restaurant.

I had a spacious room in good decorative condition with a direct view of Copacàbana beach. Strangely given the room size, wardrobe space was limited.The bathroom was also large and included an excellent shower. The breakfast buffet was superb. The roof top bar and pool was a welcome feature. The hotel sits at the southern end of Copacabana, so Ipanema is also within easy reach. Finally all the staff from the managers to the cleaners were welcoming and efficient. A difficult property to fault.

THE UGLY: They give you coffee pods but ask for ONE tea bag? That's extra. What arrives? An empty cup, a single tea bag, and a sachet holder with a dozen sugar packets. I wish I was joking.
Checkout is worse, You're held hostage while housekeeping inspects the minibar to confirm you didn't steal their precious 6 mini bottles of Red Label and vodka. Because apparently the $500 USD deposit on your card isn't enough collateral for $12 worth of liquor. Five star energy right there

The staff went above and beyond. Carlos was the best!! So polite and very professional. He always had a smile on his face. Please give that young gentleman a raise or a promotion. Great guy! The breakfast was excellent. A lot of choices. The free chairs on the beach were a great perk too. The pool was clean and the food at the pool area was delicious. The whole staff in every department made you feel like royalty. The beds were comfortable and smelled very clean. My only negative review was the gym. It’s very small and doesn’t have a flat bench or heavy weights. We had to go buy a gym membership up the block. Not a big deal for many but wanted to share my input. The AC was worked great and they also have 24hr room service. I would definitely stay here again. Thank you for making this a memorable stay!

Property is run down. Bed was extremely uncomfortable - very old and run down mattress.
I stayed at the Fairmont a few days before for about the same price and that is a true 5 star property.

Para um hotel 5 estrelas, espero uma solução melhor para hospedes que desejam usufruir de um secador de cabelo sem ser punidos pelo publico que leva para casa como souvenir (risos)….

It’s our second time staying for a week at the Miramar. The staff there is like family! We’re sad to leave every time. Rooms are comfortable and in great condition. The breakfast is great and totally worth adding. The area is safe and easy to walk around - close to Ipanema, the night market, a drugstore, etc. We will definitely go back!

2. Rooms - rooms are fine. Great air conditioning. We requested a quiet room but got placed inbetween a party who had 4 rooms. They slammed the doors and ran between rooms for up to 3 hours. There is no free coffee in the rooms. They charge £14 for each nespresso - just be aware. We were out each day by 7am and ready for a shower by 4pm. Rio is hot! The rooms are not cleaned until 5pm. There is no shower gel provided in this 5 star superior hotel, just a bar of soap.
The neighborhood needs to be treated with care.

Breakfast EXCELLENT. Location good. Room terribly small with a tiny window and a view of a ventilation pipe. No closet at all. (No hangers either). No string to pull to dry things. Bed mediocre. We had to ask maid for towels and water. She took used towels and 1/4 water bottle and did not replace. I still tipped her $5USD. No light by safe or fridge. Inconvenient towel racks. Staff at desk nice but long lines and the process was slow due to all the forms, etc.

The staff at this hotel are remarkable in their willingness to help / direct / or just talk. It seems like everybody enjoys working there. The place is well designed, with 3 elevators zipping people up and down w/out delay. The rooms are well appointed, and from my ocean-facing room I had an absolutely spectacular view of Copacabana Beach. It's a great place.

I booked a standard room without reading many reviews, assuming it would be a nice hotel. Unfortunately, the room we were given had a single window that faced a storage area. There was no view at all, and we never saw sunlight or proper daylight during our stay.
I really disliked the room right when I entered it and requested an upgrade for the eight nights we were scheduled to stay, but I was told there were no rooms available.
Paying over $2,000, I expected much more from this hotel. That said, most of the staff were friendly and helpful, which I appreciated.
In the future, I will make sure to call the hotel directly before booking to confirm exactly what type of room I’m getting.

We arrived before noon from our early flight. Check in time was 15:00 but the excellent Raulo found us a room and had us checked in quickly, cheerfully and efficiently.
The superior double was on floor 13 and we had an outstanding view over Copacabana.
