Beautiful riad in what was once someone’s huge house. The rooms are big and there very nice sitting/reading rooms and patios guests can enjoy. The courtyard and pool was also very nice and would be great in warmer weather! The riad is located about a 10 minute walk to the medina and across the street from the ocean. There are several beachfront restaurants across the street and other options a short walk away. If you’re looking for a relaxing stay outside the bustle of the medina, Villa Quieta is a great option

I can’t understand all the rave reviews. This place is out of town with no restaurant or bar and all the surrounding restaurants were closed too. It is cold inside in the winter.
My room was large and comfortable. I was given an upgrade l think to a suite.
There was only heating in the bedroom so the sitting area and bathroom were very cold.
Pool area is nice enough. Breakfast was ok but not amazing like l was expecting after reading the reviews.
I left some things behind in the bathroom and when l rang several hours later they couldn’t find them which l thought was poor.

I want to start by saying the staff who work here are lovely - super nice and helpful. Every single one! My poor review is for the facilities. Everything needs care. It seems like they haven't replaced drapes, carpet or repaired things in a long time. It does seem like that's pretty much the state of all the hotels in town. It's pretty tired.

Me and my friend stayed at the villa for three nights and we could not have asked for a better stay. Excellent service, decor, location, food, beverage, friendliness, etc... Highly recommend! Close to the beach, restaurants, and medina. Peaceful and clean.

This hotel exceeded our expectations especially on quality and price ratio. The hotel is beautiful in its deco, open, spacey and airy. Lovely garden for resting and a good size swimming pool to cool down.
The room was spacious and the beds very comfortable. Outside the room there is a seating lounging area marrocan style. The hotel is far enough from the medina to avoid the noisy but close enough for a nice walk.

Good not great. Breakfast a little Meh especially for Morocco.
A few times needed change to tip the help etc. the front desk never had any so had to apologize profusely on several occasions run into town and come back just so I could tip the waiter .. a little silly.
Rooms were very clean ... staff super pleasant. Parking reserved right outside which is SOOOO convenient if you are driving in.

Beautiful riad with incredible service

This beautifully stylish hotel is set facing the beach and a 15-20 minutes walk from the Medina, which is good if you don't want to be right in the hustle and bustle but want access to it. The staff are excellent and really look at you. I was upgraded for my first night. Dry hotel.

An Oasis in Essaouira

Stayed for 3 nights and could have easily stayed longer. The staff are absolutely wonderful at this hotel. Made it feel more like a family stay than a hotel. Location is about 20 minute walk to 20dh taxi to the medina. Its an oasis of relaxation, especially after the hustle and bustle of Marrakech. There is no bar so if you want a poolside beverage, BYO or hop across the street to the beach bars. We stopped at a winery on the way in and they gladly chilled the wine we purchased and brought it out with some small snacks.

Lovely staff at this hotel, generous size room and lots of other lovely public spaces to relax. Would personally re-jig the pool area a little adding more umbrellas for shade (just two for seven sunbeds). Would also remove some tables and add extra sunbeds as hotel only serves breakfast at the moment and they take up valuable sunbathing space :) Breakfast was fabulous and all the staff are exceptional.

This hotel is so beautiful and the staff are amazing. We walked from the bus station and I was a bit concerned about the look of a few buildings around our destination but true to Morroco, one you get there and enter the walls it is a 10. Stunning and will definitely stay again when we come back.

Everything was wonderful. Loved the location, Costs $1 to take a cab for 5 minutes into the tourist area. The cabs drive by the hotel constantly. Breakfast was good. They will make eggs if you ask, but they don't offer. They are really nice. I wish they had a television in the room.

Loved the amazing decor and the position of the hotel at the quiet end of the promenade only a 20 minute walk from the Medina. The hotel was relaxing and the staff most helpful. The garden is delightful and the pool area attractive although in February the water too cold for a dip!
The hotel does not offer meals apart from breakfast but we dined many nights at Riad Zehra just round the corner and had the most delicious fish and seafood.
Breakfast was enjoyable. It would however have been better to have been offered the egg options before the chocolate croissants, pikelets etc.

All in all a most delightful stay and we would thoroughly recommend.

We, a retired couple, stayed at this hotel for 2 nights in September. The hotel is located at the end of the main beach away from the old town. It was a few minutes by taxi for 10 Dirham from the CTM bus station. The hotel is in a lovely old mansion, just a few steps off the main beach boulevard and promenade. The lobby is a huge ornate space and the stairways and halls are filled with lovely tiles, gilt, carved wood and arabesque plasterwork. There are large oriental lounges scattered around. Our room was spacious, with inlaid wooden period furniture and a sitting area overlooking the pool, and with a view of the sea. Breakfast was served in the enormous lounge; lots of pastries, breads, fruit, juice and custom eggs. The entire beach is not that enticing, and the end closer to the hotel consists of higher dunes and is mostly inhabited by people offering camel rides and – especially – kite surfing, which seems to be the big draw. The pool hotel is pleasant and well-protected from the notorious Atlantic winds that attract the surfers. There are a few informal restaurants nearby on the beach, but for dinner each night we went by taxi (for the same 10 Dirham price) to the Medina where there were more restaurant choices. The bed was comfortable and the AC worked well.The staff was invariably helpful and willing, in a quiet and respectful manner. We were quite satisfied with our stay.

Beautiful Oasis, Would be Lovely Nearer the Medina

The structure of this hotel was absolutely beautiful with many columns covered in tiny coloured tiles as well as the walls and ceilings, additionally there were several large elaborate vases and containers dotted around. The garden was particularly amazing with all kinds of colours and flower types as well as fun bright furniture from beanbags to armchairs to relax in along with the pool for a cooling dip or again a relaxing float on a waterproof beanbag! The staff were friendly although not overly engaging - this may well be to the liking of many but we'd had a completely different experience in the Riad we'd stayed in Marrakech. Our room was again elaborately decorated with much wooden furniture and many drawers - although some so small they weren't really usable! The beds were OK, although my husband and I both said didn't provide for the best sleep. The breakfast was the main let down I would say, everyday exactly the same things were served which meant a lot of food was wasted as we as well as the others staying didn't necessarily choose to eat all that was automatically brought out. Overall it was a lovely place to stay, if it could be picked up and moved nearer to the Medina it would be even better!! Other reviewers have said that it was a pleasant 20-minute walk to everything going on, but this wasn't so much fun in the heat, and one evening it was particularly windy, blowing against us all the way so the walk took significantly longer!

HIGHLIGHT OF OUR TRIP

Villa Quieta was the highlight of our touring trip round Morocco. It was very easy to park and we were upgraded to a room with a balcony, free bottle of wine and l of fruit which was an added bonus. The room was spotless and the bed was so comfortable. Wonderful shower and bathroom facilities. Lovely pool to relax by after a walk round the little Medina. Beautiful decor around the villa. Fabulous breakfast. No dining facilities but the staff advised local restaurants where we were able to sample more Mediterranean cuisine other than Tagine! Amazing stay.

We've been back from Villa Quieta for 2 days and I'm still dreaming about our stay. From the mint tea and cookies at our check in, to the beautiful grounds and pool and the amazing suite we were upgraded to, all was incredible.

We ended up in the suite and it was like walking into a dream after having traveled the country for 2+ weeks. The sitting room and bathroom were huge and the bedroom was beautifully decorated with a very comfortable king size bed.

The pool are is clean and very refreshing and there's cold water available to drink on the pool deck.

Getting to the medina is easy, only a 25 minute leisurely walk or a 10 dirham taxi ride and you were at the center of everything. Across the street and to the left a bit (right on the beach) there are 4 places to eat and have drinks while watching the kite surfers do their thing.

Thank you to Ali, Fatima, Khalid and the rest of the staff for one of the most beautiful and relaxing stays.

An absolutely wonderful hotel, and really attentive and friendly staff. No bar or restaurant in the hotel but the staff will happily procure wine and beer for you if you fancy a drink. The Medina is a 15-20 minute walk away along the seafront - there are plenty of fixed-fare taxis (10 MAD, 90p) if you don't fancy the stroll. Staff happy to arrange airport transfers if you want, and respond to e-mails within minutes. Would happily stay there again.

It was a lovely hotel and the staff were wonderful. The gardens and pool were perfect for an afternoon refreshment and at night before bed they had plenty of great public rooms to snuggle up in with a book or travel diary if you wanted to relax a bit before bed. I was concerned about it being about a mile from the medina/port area, but it was a great walk along the gorgeous beach each day - and one night when we were tired we took a cab and it was so quick and inexpensive, if someone didn't want to walk it is an easy cab ride/fare to the town.

Pictures do not do the true beauty of this lovely hotel justice. While there are only 14 rooms, the hotel feels spacious and has many areas to relax in comfort...a respite from the beach and bustling Medina. The tile work and furnishings are exquisite and the rooms are delightful and cozy. Be sure to stay for the breakfast...it was one of the best we experienced in Morocco! :)

What a lovely hotel

I couldn't recommend Villa Quieta more. My husband and I recently spent a week there and have a lovely stay. The hotel itself has a very authentic feel to it and the décor in both public area's and rooms has a very Moroccan feel so you don't feel like you are just in another big hotel, It has a real boutique feel.
The staff just couldn't be more helpful in answering our questions or organizing trips whenever requested, the rooms were spotlessly clean and the breakfasts were fantastic, I don't think we managed to eat lunch any day of our holiday as we were still full from eating at least 3 courses at breakfast!
Although it was a bit chilly to swim the pool area was very private (and sheltered from the wind) and the gardens immaculately kept.
The hotel is located right across the road from the beach and a couple of beach cafes/bars and is about minute walk to the medina which was a good balance for us. If you are feeling lazy you can get a taxi to/from the medina for less than a £1.
I would definitely stay again

Tasteful decor with a west facing view of the sea which is perfect for sunsets. Staff attentive & discreet, breakfast was plentiful & delicious choice of local delicacies. Essaouria is a nice place for a few days, perhaps not so much to do for a week though as we had to ask about the activities (but it was nice not to be sold to!) plus it felt very private even with other guests there. Walking distance to centre medina around 20min or easy €1 taxi.

We really enjoyed our stay in the Premium double room. It was more space than we needed, though the washroom is located downstairs which can be a bit inconvenient but we only stayed for 2 nights so we managed. The rooms are bright and spacious and have black out blinds which help a lot. You sleep like a baby!! The washrooms are large and have heat lamps too and a beautiful bath that I soaked in more than once! Breakfasts were plentiful and delicious.

Villa Quieta is a stunningly gorgeous hotel in the quiet of Essaouira, about 10 min walk along the beach promenade away from the bustling medina. The staff was very welcoming and helpful, gave us great suggestions as for daily trips and hammam options. Our room had a nice ocean view, fresh flowers and fruit; we also enjoyed reading and sunbathing on a beautiful deck as well using other common spaces at the hotel, all exquisitely decorated. We hope to return one day!

Very upmarket hotel. Staff were excellent, especially Br Ali who assisted us and went out of his way to make sure we had excellent service. Very pleasant manner. Hussain (breakfast service) was a great guy and we very much appreciated his excellent delivery of service.

Pro's - Very luxurious dwelling, quality of food and decor 5-star, excellent multi-lingual staff, very homely and welcoming atmosphere, furniture very high quality, sumptuous breakfast, close to beach, big bathrooms, lot's of towels, large rooms.

Con's - Small pool / not heated, bathroom's need updating, ants in bathroom, no hooks in bathroom (seems to be a trend in Morocco), minimal English TV channels. Beach isn't for sun-bathing as it's too windy - only suitable for water sports and horse / camel riding.

A lovely, tranquil place to stay. The staff could not have been more helpful and friendly. They were able to offer advice on local places to eat, make phone calls on my behalf to a local company and even noticed I'd left my mobile phone on check out and rushed it to me at the bus station!

Extremely helpful staff, nice room

We were upgraded to a sea view room, which was very nice. The hotel itself is well kept, comfortable, and clean. The carpet and couches in the main area are a little worn, but everything else is in excellent condition. The staff are very helpful and warm.

A fantastic first time in Morocco

Our first time to Morocco and our week stay didn't disappoint! Villa Quieta is a quiet, beautiful hotel with a nice relaxing pool area, balcony overlooking the beach and traditional Moroccan interiors with clean and tidy rooms. The hotel is just a short walk along the beach from the Medina and Port d'Essaouira (or a 10MAD taxi ride) and is close to kite/windsurfing, quad bikes and camel/horse riding activities, so plenty to do!
The staff were very friendly and attentive and nothing felt like too much to ask, giving us excellent recommendations for places to eat (Madada restaurant is a must!). Breakfast was wonderful - lots of freshly baked breads and pastries to choose from, as well as omlettes, eggs and fruit salads. We would definitely come back, thank you for a wonderful stay!

Ali, the young manager and all the staff could not do enough for you. If you can't relax and enjoy this place then holidays are not for you !! Would heartily recommend this place to anyone! Excellent!!

Wish that I could move in!

Villa Quieta in Essaouira was definitely one of the most beautiful hotels I've ever stayed. When you enter you are greeted with Moroccan beauty from all angles. The staff was also top notch, going above and beyond for our satisfaction. We didn't even arrive there until about 4 am, and there was someone up waiting for us so that we could get right in and get to bed upon arrival. Breakfast is delicious and served in their gorgeous dining area. The grounds are lovely with a beautiful in-ground pool and tables at which to lounge. The rooms were private, spacious, and clean, the beds were a little firm (which I'm ok with), but also seem to be the norm as I found that everywhere I stayed in Morocco. Located in a perfect spot, quiet area but close to everything you need. It was a quick walk (3-5 minutes depending on your speed) to the beach, and only about a 15 minute walk to the Medina. All in all, we had an amazing stay and we definitely plan to go back as soon as we can!

Peaceful hotel near beach

We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Essaouira at Villa Quieta. The staff were incredibly helpful, and being a small hotel, it felt like a very personal service. We arrived late from Marrakech and were lucky to have been upgraded to a sea view room, which was very luxurious! We were offered mint tea on arrival and there were fresh flowers in the room, nice little touches. The hotel itself is very well located, right next to the beach, where we went horse riding one day. The hotel arranged this for us with Equi Evasion and I would highly recommend this too. We also enjoyed sunbathing by the pool, which is well sheltered from the wind (Essauoira is very windy, hence popular with watersports and surfers). We loved our stay and hope to go back one day!

Peaceful , quiet oasis

We stayed here a week. The staff were always very friendly and helpful. The hotel is a 25 minute stroll from the medina but his meant it was quieter and also brighter than those actually in the medina. There were always roses in the room and around the hotel. We had a large sea view room which was spacious and bright.

The town itself is very laid back and you do not get any hassle. As two women travelling we felt very safe. The food was very good with a wide range of dishes and prices.

Everything perfect about this riad: large, well appointed room; numerous public areas (lounges, terrace) available for quiet relaxation; excellent breakfast. Only recommendation would be an in room kettle.

Beautiful Villa with a gorgeous main living room. Excellent service and a wonderful breakfast which came with our room. Great location for access to the beach but a little farther from the Medina than Google maps would indicate, a 15-20 minute walk minimum. Many beautiful antiques scattered through the Villa and a variety of private lounge / sitting areas

Perfect in every way

This small hotel is a little gem in Essaouira. Outstanding in all respects, and the people here are super nice, never pushy, and go out of their way for you in every respect. Amazing building, great rooms, fantastic breakfast, and genuinely friendly service with attention to the details. Lovely people most of all. We will definitely return on our next visit.

Opulent old home made into hotel. Room 3 has a anti-chamber with a fire place. Our room was totally adequate.

Friendly service.

Beautiful, quiet hotel

We would highly recommend this hotel. It is right across the street from the beach. (Even our standard room had an ocean view). It is a nice, 10-15 minute walk to the medina, and we felt very safe walking, even at night. The hotel and staff have paid such close attention to detail. The room was very comfortable and we received a fruit basket and bottle of wine upon arrival. The staff was extremely kind and helpful. On the day of our arrival, the weather in town wasn't great--lots of wind and rain. However, there are nice places in the hotel to sit and relax by the fire.

a wonderful paradise

what a beautiful spot! A former home turned into a boutique hotel with a pottery and rug collection of museum quality. Lovely staff, so helpful. Gorgeous view of the beach and a very short and inexpensive ride to the medina. The breakfast was lovely and the surroundings first class. I will go back. the garden and pool area are lovely.

Oceanside villa in Essaouira

Lavish villa with extraordinary décor and grounds, just a minute's walk from the beach in Essaouira. Very friendly staff, happy to chat with us. Breakfast was copious in a spacious, beautiful salon. Short walk to the medina and a number of restaurants.

Beautiful Villa. Great location. Amazing staff.

We have recently returned from a week long stay at Villa Quieta in Essaouira. What can I say. It was a very relaxing, re charging holiday - good food, beach less than 1minute away and about a 15mins walk into the medina. Highly recommend; whether you are looking for a chilled break (lots of spa treatments available in the medina) or for something active e.g. Wind surfing or quad biking. This is this place to visit. And Villa Quieta provides you luxury at a reasonable price, peace and quiet, it has a family atmosphere. The staff are warm and welcoming with plenty of tips on the local area, local eateries (whatever your budget). Highly recommended. We are already planning our next trip.

Superb accomodation in every respect in Essaouira

Villa Quieta (as its name implies) offers a haven of relaxed, peaceful accomodation in Essaouira. The hotel is exceptionally comfortable and the service impeccable. The beach is a one minute walk (although the hotel also has a pool), there is excellent eating very nearby and the fifteen to twenty minute walk into the heart of Essaouira can be made along the beach itself. I would not hesitate to return. I'be travelled very far and wide and can genuinely say this has been a terrific find.
