This hotel clearly had its prime some time ago and is now due for a refurbishment. It is clean, I’ll give it that. The staff are fantastic, and the food is as good as ever - but while it used to impress a few years ago, it now feels quite outdated.
The heating/air conditioning system is old and barely works, making the room stuffy and weird temp. The amenities are well maintained and clean, but the old carpet had a strong smell of cleaning chemicals making stuffiness even worse. We only stayed one night, but for a longer stay we would have definitely asked to move rooms - we both woke up feeling congested, puffed with what seemed like an allergic reaction.
For the price, you would expect a higher standard, especially considering how quickly Gdańsk is developing and improving. If Qubus doesn’t invest in updates, it risks falling even further behind the competition.

Great location, 1 minute walk to bus and tram station. 3 minute walk to Old town Gdansk. 50+ restaurants to chose from and beautiful sites. Make sure to look up at all the unique gutter drains on the buildings. ( bugs, animals, guitar, and more.)# 8 tram will take you directly Soport and the Baltic sea.

Really good hotel. Very central, only 5 minutes walk from the old town, right near a tram stop. The hotel itself is super clean and tidy with big beds, quite rooms. The breakfast is absolutely amazing, so much choice. We even took part in the river cruise they offer such was a highlight. I would fully recommend it.

QUBUS Sets a High Standard

Qubus Hotel sets a high standard in the quality of hotel accommodation. Service is friendly, and in the main, very helpful. The rooms are excellent, well appointed and comfortable - apart from the far too common European practice of using the bathtub as a shower recess, which I really do not like at all. I have stayed in the Qubus Hotel in Gdansk 16 times between 2013 and 2017 and the standard was always consistently high. There are noticeable changes in the standard of service experienced in 2024 when compared to 2017, noticeably in the dining room and other guest services.

The hotel is lovely, conveniently placed to get to the airport and just a short 10 minute walk to the famous Długi Targ.

Hidden unexpected charges

The location of the hotel is good. The breakfast is very nice. Also, we liked the free boat trip that the hotel offers. We were disappointed with the unexpected extra charge. I have booked a room for 2 adults and 8 years old child. Paid for everything through hotels.com. On arrival, I was told that the child must sleep in the same bed with the adults. It is unacceptable standard in a 4 stars hotel. We were asked to pay an additional fee for a bed for the child. Also, there are cobwebs on the lamps and coffee and wine stains on the carpet. It's clear that the room has not been cleaned properly for a long time. Upon arrival I wrote to the management about the issues, but never received a reply. I honestly don't think that this is fair to pay for a 3 ppl room and to find out that you have to pay extra for the third bed.

We booked a room for 2 adults and child- this is what says on my booking. The room was not prepared for 3 guests- we only had 1 double room. When I mentioned this to the staff they told me that they can add one more bed for extra cost. I told Them that I paid for 3 people but they said that was not right. We didn’t even had 3 towels in the room.

My husband and I have just returned from a fabulous few nights stay at Qubus Hotel. It is ideally placed to explore gdansk and we also took the local train to Gdynia and Sopot. The hotel is lovely and the staff are hard working and helpful. The room was clean and more than big enough for the two of us. The room and bathroom were cleaned daily to a high standard. We would definitely return to Qubus hotel and have no hesitation in recommending it.

Great spa. Our room was on river side. 5 minutes walk to old town. 10 minutes walk to train station for train to Sopot (30 mins). 10 minutes walk to excellent shopping centre. Great breakfast. Lots of choice. Bad cocktails.

Great location, with a 3 minute walk to the centre. Service was friendly and always helpful. Our cleaner did an amazing job on the room, and when we returned from a busy day exploring Gdańsk, we found a wonderfully tidy and clean room. Our only disappointment was breakfast. We were hoping to buy breakfast at the hotel, but at €34 for us as a couple (£32 approx) this was an unaffordable and for us, an unjustifiable amount to pay every morning and we were able to find breakfast for around £10 total every morning as a family. I understand from other reviews the breakfast is stunning and delicious, so if you can afford the price it may well be worth it. Other than that, the hotel is incredible and the boat ride that is included in the price, together makes the hotel worth booking every time we visit.

No room for hotel residents to have lunch

The hotel was in a great location just a short walk from the old part of Gdansk. The staff were polite and friendly. Breakfast was good with a reasonable selection but I have found much more selection at other Qubus Hotels (especially Krakow). The free boat ride was an unexpected surprise. However, it was very disappointing to be told we couldn't have lunch at the hotel as the dining room had been booked out to non residents celebrating holy communion.

The hotel was a tourist style with basic rooms, The dark brown furniture and décor was not to my taste making the room look a bit dingy. The carpet was either badly stained or meant to have that appearance. not good in either case. The window was high up but that may have been a good thing as we faced a main road. The takeout style cups and no milk only added to the cheap feel of the room, The shower was very good but the bathroom had a rather unpleasant smell due to inadequate ventilation. Overall the room was a bit disappointing as we had gone for our 30th wedding anniversary (the hotel did know this) and the reviews were good so we had high hopes but were sadly underwhelmed.

This hotel is good but more like apartment facilities e.g. guests need to go look for toiletries, only takeaway type cups in rooms, no milk etc. Staff are helpful when asked but often I had to ask for what I would expect to have been provided. I got the impression of penny pinching savings being made ie in Qubus Wroclaw the receptionist was unable to get us milk as the bar was closed from 11pm and we checked in later than that. For a good chain of hotels, this is a pity.

I would recommend this hotel, very close to Old Town. One issue I would pay attention to is the construction in the area. When I was there Sept18 the sidewalks around the hotel were pretty torn up but at the rate they were working I would expect the sidewalks to be workable by the end of Oct. Other construction will take considerably longer.

I just returned from being at this hotel for a week. I traveled with my mom who is a young 85 years old and when we arrived (60 Zloty from airport by cab) we were greeted and given a room immediately. We were also given a plethora of information about breakfast, which we added with our room and the boat rides, which leave every hour and can drop you off, and information all about the hotel and the surrounding area. When we got to our room it looked really comfortable, but the bathtub was so high my mom could not get into or out of easily so I called to the desk and they gave us a room within minutes that had a walk in shower instead. I truly mean it was within 5 minutes, they even sent someone up to help with our luggage. This room looked exactly the same as the other one but suited our needs with the shower much better. The staff was impressive and helpful and the food was delicious. This hotel was close to everything and right by the trolley for further ventures. The underpass to cross the busy street to Old Town was well lit, full of cameras and perfectly safe. There were always families, couples or bike riders flowing through the tunnel as well. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel for the cleanliness, the staff, the food, or the proximity to everything.

This hotel has a very convenient location, just a short walk through an underpass to the old town. The hotel staff were excellent very efficient and helpful, with the receptionist letting us know how to catch the train to Sopot using a nearby station only a 5-10 min walk from the hotel. Also, our room was serviced one morning whilst we were having breakfast ( very impressive). The free boat trip on the hotel boat was a bonus, just a 30 minute trip, but worth taking. Overall this hotel and the staff were excellent. Only negative the upholstery on the chairs in our room and breakfast room could do with a bit of a clean, starting to get grubby. Note: some rooms have a shower, some bathtubs. If you have a preference put in a request.

Nice hotel close to old town

There's a lot of building work going on in this area at the moment, but don't let that put you off. This hotel is really convenient for walking into the old town: there's an underpass within 50 yds which takes you under the main road and then you walk straight down into the old part of Gdansk.
As for the hotel, staff were very helpful, room was clean, comfortable and well equipped. We didn't pay extra for breakfast as it was cheaper to get it in town. We would definitely stay here again.

The reception staff were more than helpful and very plesent always willing to help, even changed our room the next day, due to late arrival as didn't get the room we requested. Good variety of hot and cold breakfast,waiting staff also very helpful a big thanks to every one. Some building and road works going on but did not affect our stay as its at the other side of the street.

Very nice hotel. We did not have a view of the water but that was alright because we did enough sightseeing during the day. Tatiana was excellent in being able to help book our train tickets after they got mixed up. She also booked our tour of the three cites with an excellent guide. The hotel is a short walk to old town and the train station.

Luvly hotel..very close to the centre via an underpass, train station is a ten minute walk..room was overlooking the river where the hotel boat takes you for a half hour free trip around Gdansk. Hotel restaurant was excellent with every type of breakfast food you could want..felt 'some' of the staff never looked happy! The hotel organised a taxi there and back to the airport which was roughly 30mins...The hotel is spotless and well organised and we would probably return should we visit Gdansk in the future.....
