The room smelled musty and not sound-proof.
Valentine's Day buffet and polynesian dance show: made a reservation 1 month in advance for the dance show and was given an obstructed view table behind a column. The wait staff took 15 minutes once seated to bring us water. I finally had to go to the bar to receive water. The staff tried to take away my plate while I was still eating. Terrible dinner experience! Do not recommend buffet dinners at Intercontinental Resort Tahiti.

We arrived early morning, too early to get in our room, but the staff did everything to make us comfortable. We were given cards to use the pool or take a shower. The very helpful concierge, Day, helped us plan the next five days. We had rented a car and she gave us very helpful directions and maps with highlights.

After a lovely lunch we did get into our ocean view room which unexpectedly had a lovely view of Moo’rea.

The amenities are fabulous, and the view was spectacular.. meals can be expensive so it’s good to get that in your package if you can get your breakfast.. The food is good and lots of healthy choices as well.. if you’re here on a Wednesday or Saturday make sure you see the floor show in the evening and on Sunday they have a early morning floor show with brunch.. easy to get to from the airport. Renovation is going on, but they are very accommodating and make sure that your comfort level is still well taken care of… very pleasant staff… would highly recommend this place.

We had no hot water in our room. However, the hotel went to great lengths to remedy the issue, including paying for multiple breakfasts and lunches. They also allowed us to use the changing rooms to shower where there was hot water. They were sold out so another room wasn’t an option. It was disappointing that the facilities weren’t fully functional, but the manager stepped up to remedy the issue. They showed that they cared and that’s what matters.

Just one night here, I arrived early off the ferry at 10am and asked to store luggage, which was no problem and they were happy for me to use the pool and would do what they could to get me in my room asap. 10 mins later they said I could have the room! Very impressive. Nothing was too much trouble. Staff are super attentive.
Pool area was sublime, spotlessly clean. They had thought of everything with water dispensers, suntan lotion etc st the pool areas.
My bedroom was a delight and the bed sumptuous with super quality bedding. The view was lovely and everything was perfect.
I know people say it’s expensive to eat, but Tahiti is expensive all over. At least here the surroundings are lovely and my meal (proissans cru) was delicious. It was not a cheap night but the place I’d been staying in when in Moorea was terrible so this really cheered me up on my last night and was worth the splurge. Well done Intercontinental.

Standard room ok, but closet very small and no plug in bathroom for hair appliances. Food is good but pricey. Paid $48 for 2 daiquiris. Only 5 minutes from airport and hotel can arrange taxi for you. If you arrive early and room not ready, they can hold luggage and have a room you can use for 30 minutes to wash up and change clothes. Added a casual restaurant and updated grounds since our last visit 2 years ago. Beach sand area is very small, but plenty of room at pools and on grassy areas to lay out.

Lovely resort minus uncomfortable bed

Beautiful property at this resort. Bed was hard as a rock! I'm not even kidding! Made for some restless nights sleep! Breakfast was decent. Room service was good. Pool was nice but chilly. We had a late flight but they let us use the resort after we checked out and had a bathroom/shower for us to use to clean up after being in the pool. They can it a transition room and we thought the was an extra nice amenity. The on site free washer/dryer was nice to have. They sell detergent pods in the gift shop. The Sunday brunch native show was good!! Be aware the Wednesday night dinner show is almost the same as the Sunday brunch show. The dive shop was nice for renting kayaks/ jetskiis and excursions. We rented a double kayak for $40 USD for 2 hours and snorkeled by the over the water bungalows in the coral reef area that was very good! Overall a lovely resort minus the uncomfortable beds.

Hospitaly room for refreshing before room was available was dark. Shower tiles needed a good scrubbing and the floor needed to be swept. Very bad introduction to the hotel. Getting wifi to work was difficult. Food was expensive. The staff, though, was excellent: very helpful and pleasant. The hotel is old & tired, and it shows. It's being renovated, but right now it's not a good value for the money.

This place is a dream come true ! The water bungalow was amazing! It’s pricey but it’s worth it! You can walk down you private patio and snorkel! The staff is super friendly and helpful!! I highly recommend this hotel and so close to the airport. It is less than 10 minutes away.

I regret not staying longer, and truly experiencing this resort in it's full glory. M dining was exceptional, service staff of very high standards, location was stunning, room was divinely simple with luxury feel and comfort. My only observation that was a detractor, (however will not prevent me from returning or highly recommending it) was the noise level coming from the onsite construction. Recognizing this is a must, I understand, however if my intention was to be immersed in nature with a good book and plenty of sun, it would have been tainted. That aside, still a gem in paradise, and I will return.

They don’t send a shuttle or offer a shuttle to airport- airport is full of people greeting incoming travelers with keys and Tahiti’ la oranas’ and you have to walk past it all with no greeting and figure out how to get a cab. I even called the hotel and ask and the told me to buzz off. And it’s the closest hotel to the airport- it would be nothing for them to get you. Not great. Opposite when you get to bora bora - that’s why everyone bails on Tahiti. Especially for what we paid. What? $400 a night? Derp

We stayed at this hotel for just one night. Unfortunately, I couldn’t sleep because the air conditioner kept turning off every hour, and I had to get up repeatedly to turn it back on. It seems like this might be due to energy-saving settings, which made the night quite uncomfortable.

On a positive note, the breakfast was very good.

Highlight is the very kind and accommodating staff. Everyone last person was friendly and helpful, especially the young intern at the front desk. The La Lotus restaurant is surprisingly outstanding. The over water bungalows desperately need to be modernized, but were clean and comfortable. For the prices, especially the bungalow prices, please improve the pool chairs to add cushions. The spa was adequate but is in a small cramped space. Gym is roomy and well kept.

We were woken up up every morning at 6 AM by a gardener, scar on hand from tea kettle burn, which disallowed me from being able to go on my captain Taiana’s adventure, which cost me $247 that was not reimbursed, every time I eat here the food and meal cost a different price even though it’s the same items. And one point they even ripped me off and charge me $60 for a chicken plate because of this we will never come back here again and we will not recommend this place to anyone. I have informed my family of my experience and we couldn’t leave early even though we wanted to because the flights were full and the firemen were protesting at the airport. The hospitality has been amazing, but that is the only thing. I will be writing a bad review and so will my husband and I will be letting Expedia know about my horrible experience.

Nice, luxury double room - had a bit of difficulty working out how to use the shower settings. Signage to my actual room was not easy to find or follow - had to find a member of staff to show us the way. The evening entertainment with generous buffet and excellent musical/dance show was absolutely outstanding, however, and made the expensive accommodation worth every penny. Some difficulty experienced trying to more the dinghy at the hotel premises when I arrived direct from the yacht - this should be sorted out for future guests from the sailing community anchored nearby, where arrival by dinghy is the only option.

The Hotel looked lovely until we saw main pool was out of action, and we didn't know before we booked it was closed for 3 months, we got an email closer to out stay to let us know but i had non refundable booking i would have stayed elsewhere had i known, pools are a huge part of staying on an island and paying so much.. there was a another pool with a swim up bar which was understaffed given everyone was at this smaller pool only 1 lady working her Butt off. Apart from that a nice Hotel for a quick night befote we flew out early morn. And very close to airport..

The Intercontinental was a nice stay. One pool was under construction, so that was a bit unexpected; however, the other pool was nice. The snorkeling was fun. The food was fabulous, and so too was the staff.

We had a nice room, but the noise from the upper floor carried to our room at night and early morning. Overall, it was an above-average stay under slightly less than ideal circumstances due to pool construction.

Everything & everyone was amazing. I had 3 massages all were amazing, Steve I’m guessing he’s the activity coordinator. So pleasant and helpful. I wasn’t to crazy with our room shower took a little too much to figure out but the other showers changing room & spa were great. The room itself was very comfortable. The only bump which we were made aware was the construction on the pool but really not that big of a deal except for the view from the restaurant but not a deal breakers. Several choices of restaurants and food are deliciously prepared. A nice place to stay in Tahiti, highly recommended.

Great attitudes but the service is lacking. They don’t have simple bottled water available for meals. You need to ask multiple times and still don’t get it. The food was average at best. Every medium rare steak order was well done. Really nothing great about the food. Go to Hilton. Much better.
Spa was the highlight. One of the best massages ever. Pool renovation so that blight didn’t help.

The air conditioning only went down to 23 degrees so was uncomfortable as the bedding only had a heavy comforter and no sheet. The transit room wasn’t as clean as I wanted with the floor and shower wet from a previous customer and the towel bin full. Main pool is in renovation. Sad

Main pool closed for repairs. That led to restaurants closing at times and the jackhammering did not set the mood. The other sand bottom pool was very nice though. For the cost of a nightly stay, the nickle and dimimg that went on was rediculous. A alacarte meal for 2 was over $150.00 us, coffee and a cookie for breakfast over $25us. Asking for water at the restaurants was like a bother to the inattentive wait staff. No minibar or room coffee, all needed to be purchased at a steep price. Stay at the Hilton was much better and the staff much better. I guess if you don’t mind any expenses and want to say you stayed at the intercontinental, by all means!

The location is not very convenient if you want to leave the property, but we were content to stay. We stayed in the overwater bungalow, awesome! The only improvement needed is the food selection. Concierge service is great. A male attendant at the checkout on February 25th is terrible, completely ignorant of guest needs. I had to resolve the issue with a female attendant. Lagoon corals are growing ( ), but lagoon is reduced to a half size to accommodate 2 turtles and smaller size is detrimental to the fish. There is a significantly less fish in lagoon in comparison to my 5 years ago visit. There's a construction between the lagoon and main restaurant. The construction dust is visible in the lagoon. Obviously, noise levels interfere with a conversation at the tables.

The staff and service at the property were incredible. Everyone was so friendly, helpful and went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. Unfortunately we were notified a week out that they would be ripping up one of their swimming pools to refurbish it. This pool was part of our \"view\" and also part of the experience we'd hope to have at the resort. In addition, the construction noise was horrible. They brought in a back hoe to chop up the concrete which was happening right in front of the only restaurant that was open! We were extremely unhappy as the construction notification came too late for us to change our plans, yet they had no trouble charging full price for an expensive room. One more comment, the hotel is not close to anything so a rental car is recommended.
