The staff was awesome two things i recommend they should offer golf cart ride to the spa which is 300 meters a way from the hotel after a relaxing treatment no one wants to walk up a hill in the hot sun back to the hotel and the outside of the spa needs to be landscape to a more zen setting it looks like an abandoned fishing cabin

The hotel was comfortable, the restaurant was good, the staff were friendly and the communication in both English and Portuguese was excellent. However, there were some operational details that hampered the quality of the experience:

- There was no clean-up of the outdoor public areas of the hotel following the morning after use. Clearly, there had been people late-night drinking, yet at 8:30am there was still cups, glasses, bottles etc. left outside at both the hotel entrance and back garden facing the pool. This gave a really poor and understaffed look to the hotel.
- Despite being named a 'palace', the hotel staff had little knowledge or history of the building. There was no special story behind the hotel, no photos, and evidently no staff training on why the hotel experience was unique.
- We were surprised to learn on arrival that the thermal baths no longer functioned. Evidently, there was a breach and the thermal water got mixed with ground water a few years ago, and they closed the facilities. Therefore, the only offering they had was the spa facilities, which itself was OK, but was just a conventional spa and not the 'core' attraction.

Whilst the stay itself was very pleasant and comfortable, the shortcomings of these points make the difference on whether we would repeat the stay.

Beautiful hotel and very family friendly. Lots to do for kids!!! They played tennis, pet the animals at the little farm, and swam at the nice size swimming pool. There was even mini golf but we didn’t have time for it before it got dark as we arrived late. Us parents relaxed and had wine while kids played. Staff was amazing and friendly!

Property was excellent , some item are describe in the web that are not functionals, but others that that is very relaxing , my kids have a blast , my kids have their own room and I was relaxing knowing that they are inside , not good for people who’s looking for everything in the hotel , we went to the beach around 10min and we have a blast day , I personally recommended restaurant call QUEBRA MAR, you won’t be disappoint , first time I drink a frozen beer at the beach

They should really regrout the bathroom shower, the silicon was full of black mold which was very unpleasantly

Beyond Expectations

The Reception made our Check-in process a breeze and allowed us to occupy our room right away before the stated time. Room 230 is spacious, away from elevators and faces the forest side of the property, with a terrace. It was very clean, but a bit too dark. Linens, towels, mattress, and pillows are good quality. But, to my surprise, one towel was really thin and had six holes in it. The service at this hotel was above and beyond our expectations. For lunch, having the restaurant arranged for an event, a table was set up in minutes at the lobby, facing the pool for us. The food, presentation and service were the best we have had in a long time. The included buffet breakfast offers items for all tastes and/or diets. Dinner was a great experience as well and prices are more than reasonable for the quality and the service. The only critic is that they offer the same menu for both lunch and dinner. With a two night stay, we had the chance to try dishes we did not have for lunch. The Spa offers many types of services and treatments. Unfortunately, our short stay allowed us for just a small sample. The Spa space is beautiful, and the therapists were very good. As hotel guest you can get a discounted price. Parking is free for guests. We recommend this property and would love to go back for a longer stay Spa Vacation.

Excelente sob qualquer ponto de vista

O Hotel é excelente e fica situado num parque muito bonito. Monte Real é uma aldeia muito pacata. Os pequenos almoços são ótimos, a piscina é grande e tem uma exposição solar muito boa, os quartos são muito confortáveis e a casa de banho é particularmente requintada. A equipa de serviço é bastante acolhedora e solicita. Só tenho bons motivos para recomendar este hotel e já tenho planeado um regresso.

Where are the irons???

Always stay here when I am on business in the area. Good value for money and without a doubt the best hotel locally. Disappointingly they have decided to remove irons and iron boards from the hotel for some unknown reason which is a real pain if you are on business.

The hotel is very elegant. There weren't many people staying there so it seemed almost empty which is fine by me. The restaurant on site is very nice and the food was great. The hotel staff was also very friendly and courteous. The free bottle of wine in the romantic rooms is a great bonus.

Great family stay at this hotel for 1 week. Families are very well looked after with the kids club room and pool area. Great spot to get to beaches and surrounding area. Breakfast coffee can be hit and miss as others have stated, some days it was great, others not really drinkable as they had re-heated old water. Service was mostly excellent. Spa is also great, just be aware there is a 16 euro charge for access but well worth it for two hours of total relaxation.

The hotel is located near a military air field and a church, hence a bit noisy in the evening. However, quite in the center next to local shops and coffee shops. There's planty of parking. The coridors are very dark, and so are the rooms, decorated with black carpets and walls. The bathroom is very clean with big tub, and looks luxurious. The rooms are spacious. Breakfast was nice, don't expect vegetables, as tipical in Portugal. Overall very nice. Probably fits better for business stay.

Great hotel. Easy access to the highways.

We had a wonderful 2 nite stay in Sept. The staff was very helpful and service was excellent. Room was spotless/very clean. The restuarant was very good, too. Our only comment is the lighting in the room could be a bit brighter, but it was fine for us. Also English speaking tv channels were limited...no BBC, CNN or Sky News.

Great hotel for family as the room and the bathroom are spacious and well equipped. The bed was confortable, but not so much the extra bed if the children is heavier. My son being 70 pounds was ok, but the matress is thin and soft. It was quiet, we slept very well. The pool is large and clean.We had great service and restaurant advices from the employees. The buffet breakfast was fair, good selection. However, the coffee was horrible, a shame! Our dinner at the hotel restaurant was very good, especially the octopus. The service there could improve with a smile and a better contact from the waiters with the customers...

Hotel a evitar tendo em conta o péssimo serviço, desde room service até ao SPA.

Quando pedimos para visitar o SPA no sentido de perceber se era do nosso agrado, foi-nos dito ser impossível alegando que estavam pessoas na piscina em fato de banho. Foi a primeira vez que pedi para verificar o SPA antes de adquirir o serviço e tal me foi vedado. Sou consumidor regular deste tipo de produtos e capaz de fazer centenas de kms por um bom SPA.

Några avslappnade dagar på ett fint hotell en bit upp i bergen. Frukosten var bra med hyfsat stort urval. Sängar samt renlighet och städning av rummet var bra.Tyvärr var Spa-delen stängd för renovering, och detta fick vi veta i ett mail efter bokningen.. detta kan tyckas vara ett minus, det borde stått i informationen om hotellet redan vid sökning och bokning. Annars ingenting att anmärka.

Gutes Zimmer mit Teppichboden. Das Frühstück war gut. Das Essen im Restaurant sehr gut. Das Hotel war während unseres Aufenthaltes zum großen Teil mit verschiedenen Firmen belegt, die dort Schulungen o. ä. abhielten. Dadurch kam es abends im Restaurant zu einer Auslagerung der Hotelgäste in einen unattraktiven Nebenraum während die Firmen das Restaurant zur Verfügung gestellt bekamen. Das empfanden wir als sehr unschön.
Die Massagen im kleinen Spa (Extrakosten) waren sehr gut ausgeführt.

Experiência agradável, apesar de nas refeições o serviço demorar bastante tempo onde com crianças não é bom, pois ficam bastante impacientes, em relação á comida, não tenho nada a dizer de mal pois é muito boa.
Em relação ás acomodações, a cama sendo King size mas sendo duas 1/2 camas não dá muito jeito com crianças, as almofadas são péssimas, muito altas e nada confortáveis.

Hotel muito isolado, Termas fora de funcionamento há mais de 2 anos e sem informação, piscina interior tem o custo de 16€ (um exagero), estacionamento reduzido, zona envolvente abandonada e sem cuidados mínimos (jardins, campo de tens, de minigolf e ao redor), pequeno-almoço muito fraco, restaurante aberto só até às 22h!
Foi-me cobrada uma taxa de 9€ só para trazer copos VAZIOS ao quarto!

Hôtel très agréable

Un séjour plaisant, Petit Déjeuner parfait. Chambre très propre et agréable même si elle est un peu petite malgré le balcon; salle de bain très bien.

pour un 4 étoiles il manque des prestations

Très bon petit déjeuner, manque des chaînes tv française, manque une cafetière dans la chambre,dans la salle de bain vitre pleine de calcaire, dommage car c'est très jolie
