I would have given 5 stars if you honored your word to reimburse us for an unexpected early checkout due to the local trains not running (we were not aware of this prior to check in, and it was very inconvenient)
When we discovered this problem, we tried to use the bus instead, but did not work well. We were told that early checkout would not be a problem, except it was, since neither Expedia or your hotel honored your word.

Lovely old hotel right on the main street in Cava de’Terreni. Perfect to join the evening stroll up and down the main street, with a huge range of shopping and dining options. The hotel restaurant is also perfectly good. And the staff were brilliant, really helpful and knowledgeable.

This is one of the prettiest hotel in the region. Reception lady Ladda is such a sweet person. And she is very friendly and helpful. She did not said no to anything we asked for. She was very helpful with our daily trips to amalfi and surrounding. Comfy bed and room decorated with all the historic themes. Their towels are the softest i have ever find in any hotels. There is a lovely lady at breakfast time who greet us with a smile every day and understands and speaks good english too. I give this hotel 10/10

I would have given 5 stars in all categories, except for two things. 1-The hotel restaurant seemed like a great option for dinner but we were deeply disappointed. The food was not good, my son in law got food poisoning from the prawns he ordered. It took literally hours to get our food as well. 2- The bed was as hard as rock. I’ve learned that is common in Italian hotel rooms but this bed was especially uncomfortable.

On the upside, the air conditioning was outstanding and the friendliness of the staff was so pleasant. The hotel is beautiful.

I would highly recommend this hotel for so many reasons. The location is perfect. Just step outside the hotel doors and you are in the center of Cava. Shopping, dining and exploring this classic Italian town is right there! The rooms are immaculate and beautifully decorated. The breakfast buffet was way above all the other hotels I stayed at during my 17 day trip. The staff is friendly, courteous and helpful with anything you might need.

Perfect in every way. Welcoming, customer service, restaurant, bar, food exceptional. But most of all the staff are brilliant so attentive. Cava de Tirreni is a little hidden gem, away from all the tourists. But easy access to the Amalfi area.
My best hotel I’ve stayed in whilst traveling Italy for 2 months. And so close to the train station.

Great little hotel close to Amalfi coast

We very much appreciated the enthusiasm of the reception team. The attractive town centre starts one block from the hotel and is formed by one long street with arches on both sides.
What we liked best is that the town is close to Nápoles, Pompei, the Amalfi Coast, Sorrento and Capri. Tip: take the road across the mountains from Pompei to Ravello on the Amalfi coast..

Great Choice as long as you have a car..

Nice hotel, very quiet and was close by the Montecassino which was why we were there. It’s a little further to downtown than I would have preferred, restauranrts and “life” are about a 3 mile drive, which wasn’t a problem because we had a car, but arriving by train might be tough.

A Jewel in the south.

I was fortunate enough to stay here on my way through Europe. The staff were amazing. Personable. Happy. Helpful.
My room got upgraded on arrival to a suite and let me tell you about breakfast. WOW. Anything you can think of was laid out for you. The coffee was amazing. The eggs were delicious.

We had dinner at the hotel both nights. The first night we had the set menu... the second we ordered off the menu and the second night was by far the tastier of the two meals. The risotto and lemon chicken are still making me cry with happiness lol.

If you’re driving parking is free under the hotel. Which is really needed as their is no parking elsewhere.

This hotel is by far the best I have stayed at through my southern Italy travels so far.

When we arrived our 'standard' room was not available so we were upgraded to a Junior Suite. It was my birthday and we received a nice local drink as well. The receptionist was so helpful with suggestions as to how to take the train and bus to where we wanted to go. She printed it all off and made our sightseeing so much easier!

Nice Hotel in Cava di Terrini

Nice hotel, with friendly staff, nice breakfast, free garage parking. Pedestrian mall walking along row of shops and restaurants to square with two churches. A little hard to get to because the street in front of the hotel is blocked off for pedestrians. You have to drive around the block to get to the underground garage. It would be helpful if a map were posted both to the hotel and the garage.

This is a lovely hotel in an old character building with marble floors and period furniture. The hotel is located at the beginning of a pedestrianized street and is very quiet. There's a beautiful courtyard and garden at the back, with access to the underground parking garage. The staff were welcoming and friendly. Dinner in the restaurant was very good with reasonable prices. We would be happy to stay there again.

Loved this hotel. It was so beautiful.It is a heritage hotel restored beautifully. The rooms are huge. They have a separate sitting room. Only complaint was finding the parking. I would recommend to let them park your car. It's very confusing because of all the one way streets. The restaurant at the hotel was wonderful. And the breakfast was great!

Wow. I am traveling a lot in Europe but i have never felt like in this hotel.

The staff are super nice and care, My mother didnt feel good and they went to the pharmacy to buy her the Medication, bring it to the room and asked if we want some food or any other help.

The rooms are big, Great location, really nice building. We couldn't choose better.

The staff couldn't have been nicer. The receptionists helped with our language barrier with the rest of the staff. Everyone was very welcoming. It was a little hard to find the hotel & their parking lot at first. They even had the bell hop go with us in our car to the private parking. He did not really understand English but we managed with his help to get parked below the hotel. It is gated so we always felt very safe.
The food was excellent! We had a continental breakfast in the morning and had a couple of dinners there. The lemon pasta was delicious! I wish I could get the recipe.
All in all we had a great time and if we ever go back to Cava de Tirreni we would stay here again.

Overall Disappointing

Although we were looking for a hotel in Salerno we settled on this hotel not realizing how far it really was from the city. Its really out there. KNOW before you go! If you wish to spend any time in Salerno or anywhere else for that matter there is a train but make sure its running otherwise its a 30Euro taxi ride to town. There are a LOT of young people in town so if you are in your 20's you'll love it, if not you'll probably hate it. The hotel staff was not very help as well. When booking tours or trips they only gave us some of the info we needed but did not really help us very much. For instance I emailed them ahead of time to book a tour to Pompei. They emailed and said they had no problem helping with the booking. What they never mentioned until the morning of the tour is that we had to find our way to Pompei and transportation was not included. Would have been nice to know before we had to go. Then on top of it they had no idea if the train was running that day or not. The train btw is 2 blocks away.... way to be helpful.

Great non touristy destination near pompeii

We stumbled upon this hotel 2 years ago because it was situated not too far from Amalfi and family. We loved it so much we made it fit with a returning visit. It is a great mix of old elegance and new style, directly outdoors to a walking promenade with stores and restaurants.

Great place, great location

My husband and I stayed at this this hotel based on the reviews. We were not disappointed. We were greeted and provided with much information about the area. The room was clean and very comfortable. We enjoyed the free internet which was very useful in keeping up with our family. In the morning we had a wonderful breakfast sitting outside. we watched the locals going about their day, being greeted by the friendly people in the town. During the evening we sat on the terrace and one morning chose to have our breakfast there. The owner and her niece speak excellent English and were very helpful and very gracious. We will definitely return!

We want to go back

What a great place. We just needed a place for overnight, but would like to make it a destination next time. The hotel is lovely. This rose is a little past its prime, but it is lovely and well cared for and the staff are wonderful+. The included breakfast was the best we've had in both quality and presentation. The common areas and patios are a collection of areas of style and interest. Parking is ample and secure and free. The big challenge is finding the hotel since it opens to a street that has been converted to pedestrian traffic only. We had to ask multiple people for directions and double parked while we had personnel open the gate to the garage. On the other hand, the pedestrian-only street is a great collection of shops, restaurants, gelaterias and very alive and safe. We'd love to go back and explore Cava with this hotel as our base. Also, from a personal standpoint, the staff was so pleasant, we'd like to direct as much business their way as we can. What a pleasure!

Good experience at this hotel, 9-11Sept 2010

we initially were wary of the town's appearance, but found the hotel quite smart, food good etc.
In particular, we were sincerely grateful to the reception staff and porter who went out of their way to help us. I was taken ill in the town square and rushed to hospital. Our Italian language is poor, so we were greatly relieved when the day porter arrived at casualty in his own time(having been advised by the police) and did his best to translate the doctor/nurses questions etc. It was a great relief to my wife. Plus the courtesy and interest in our well being when back at the hotel, was extremely reassuring, manager- Giancario particularly. We would certainly return because our impression of Italian people improved considerably as a result.

nightmare in cavade tirreni

This hotel is located far away from Salerno which is the main town in the area. You can get there by local train for about 2 euros, a taxi ride can be very expensive.
It appears very nice and they try to add apersonal touch but the reality is that the service is poor, the air conditioner in my unit was broken, every night the night porter omes in to fix it, runs for an hr then stop. The bathroom is very small with a tiny shower only..
The breakfast was also meager, dry cakes and bread, sometimes cereal or yogurt. They contract with a transportation service that overcharges for their services. Do not ask them to call you a cab; use the train.
Avoid that hotel, it's not worth the aggravation.

Hotel in pieno centro a Cava de Tirreni. Usciti dall'hotel si è subito sul corso principale del paese. Questo hotel ha il parcheggio interrato cosa fondamentale per poter soggiornare in centro, altrimenti è impossibile trovare da parcheggiare nei we.
