Very nice property. The reception is 2km from the main road up hill. 3 restaurants and complimentary breakfast was good. Basic and fresh.
Spa(hot springs) is amazing located in the forest. 25 minutes tractors shuttle on bumpy road to get there. Once you are there, you will have to eat in there restaurant since nothing is close by.

The room is spacious, wifi worked everywhere. Food and service was excellent. I took day pass to do the jungle slide, go ziplinning and horseback, but even without paying the extra you can go on the hanging bridges by yourselves. The hot springs are not on site, it’a a 20 minute bumpy tractor ride to get there, but there is food and drinks at the hot springs. Beautiful views and lots of wildlife

room didn’t have ac but it had a fan and that was suffice. the food wasnt good surprisingly. also got there around 4 pm and the shuttle to go to the hot springs which was the main reason we wanted to stay there stopped going at 3 pm! so we were really bummed about that. on a positive note, it was a beautiful place.

Our room was very clean and nice. We enjoyed listening to the birds and having a cup of coffee on our deck before going for breakfast. We were unable to walk to brkfst or dinner at Jaguar because my husband was experiencing severe back and leg pain. There are so many activities to enjoy there! Jarvis kindly picked us up each morning and returned us to our cabin. He was wonderful. Everyone was so nice. Victor always made us feel special and always had a smile on his face. Lies went out of her way to help us our entire stay. We feel we've made new friends. Others that were helpful and kind were Arturo and Bismark. Buena Vista Del Rincon is a special resort with magnificent views and so much to offer. We wish we'd been physically able to enjoy them more. We'll be back.

The toilet was broken and overflowed during the night. Someone came over to fix it the day after but it worked only for a few hours and the same problem occurred again. At the checkout no one asked if everything was ok and they didn’t seem interested. In addition to this, the food was bad and overpriced. There’s clearly nothing “eco” although the state it’s an ecolodge.
I’d suggest going somewhere else.

Room was nice but we stayed in the upgraded Mountain rooms. Other facilities seemed a bit rundown. Food wasn’t great. Sent a message 5 days ahead and requested a reservation for a nice table with view at dinner for our 10th Anniversary and kept following up. They finally confirmed but when we got to the restaurant they didn’t even have our table ready or seem to know anything. They did end up accommodating us after I insisted. And at 9 am in the morning a gardener started weed whacking all the lawns and areas outside of all the mountain rooms which went on for 2 hours. No option to sit on our porch or relax with that happening. Perhaps they do those areas between 11-2 pm so people can enjoy their patio and room in peace. Thanks

It was a wonderful resort with beauty everywhere you looked! Comfy beds. Every meal we had was delicious!! I’m sorry I forgot his name but the waiter at the jaguar was so friendly! Worked so hard we saw him early in the morning and late at night! Victor at le mirado was so friendly and great! The sunset was beautiful and it was a great place to hang out in the evening! Jose David looked after us all day while on our day tour, he was awesome!! Very knowledgeable!!

The resort is an easy ride from Liberia, little over an hour. If you can, book one of the mountain rooms. Best location, close to all and an easy walk to El Mirador. The deck at that restaurant is the most amazing view at sunset. Highly recommend. And the food is good too.
If you're in for a bit of everything, then get the day pass. Book it on their website, that's way cheaper than booking at the front desk.

Lots of activities to do at the resort but if you don't have a car, you are limited and can't leave as it's pretty remote. There were some beautiful sunsets to watch from the el mirador restaurant. The rooms were a bit dated with a fan and no AC. There were some bugs in the room and in the area and we were bitten quite a bit.

Staff were so lovely and welcoming. The activities at the resort were good, we booked a package from their website as we only wanted to do some of the activities and the package they offer at the resort is all of them for $120. They allowed us to split up our activities over two days so we did most of them one day and the hanging bridges before we checked out the next. There aren’t many options for food around the resort and I feel more than 2 nights unless you are driving to do an activity elsewhere would have been too much. But for 2 nights it was perfect. Great way to start our Costa Rican vacation.

The location is really breathtaking. It is low season so only one restaurant was open for meals (but be sure to check out the views at susnset). The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. Our kids loved the waterslide (Tsunami speed). The views of the Volcano were wow! And the thermal springs in the afternoon (accompanied by a number of monkies above were just what the docter ordered).

Buena Vista del Rincón Eco Adventure Park, Hotel & Spa was an absolute delight! From the moment we arrived, everyone was so warm and welcoming.

We enjoyed soaking in the relaxing hot springs, enjoying a beautiful horseback ride through the property, and learning so much during the cultural tour. The food was fresh and delicious, and the service was excellent from start to finish.

Our room was spacious, modern, and comfortable, definitely a pleasant surprise in the middle of such lush nature. My only observation: while they provide you with a room key, the floor-to-ceiling window and sliding door didn’t seem too interested in locking. So technically, the key is more of a decorative souvenir!

Aside from that little quirk, I absolutely loved my stay and would come back. It’s a perfect mix of adventure, culture, and relaxation, highly recommended for anyone visiting Costa Rica!

The team at the property were ALL excellent - thank you. The property is accessed via an unmade road which was hard work for our small hire car - but because it was a hire car it made it through. The facilities are good. I tried the canopy walk, river slide, zip line and hot springs, all of which were very good. The evening meals we had were of a high standard, especially considering that all the food has to be transported a long way. The breakfast was good ( but didn’t live up to the standard of the evening meals). We were in a hacienda and the walls are very thin. We had a great two days and would highly recommend the facility.

What we like most about this property is it has many services and natural settings nearby , such as horse riding , spas, volcano mud bath, hotspring pools, hiking trails , waterfalls .
But some foods are not as expected , such as chicken meat is tough and chips are a bit hard .

The area around the hotel is amazing, the room was clean, and staff were helpful. We had so much fun doing the activities like hiking, horseback riding, and hot springs. The included breakfast is awesome and the outdoor restaurant where you can watch the sun set was great! The only downside was the pool. It clearly needed more filtration and maybe a check on chemical levels. There was algae growing in it and lots of bird poop in it. I know it is outdoors, but so are other pools we’ve been too, and they have not had this issue.

This is like staying at a cabin over summer break when you were a kid. All you need and clean just not like a hotel or resort room. I did not mind but my husband would have liked more comforts. I loved the whole resort, and experience would definitely come back. Food was amazing and the most beautiful sunset I think I have ever seen. People were friendly and helpful, activities were all so much fun. It was off the beaten path. Not super close to anything. Plan on staying here for activities.

Buena Vista del Rincon is an excellent place to experience various Costa Rica experiences in single place. It is located in the gorgeous place with great scenery around, and a lot of wildlife - we've seen various beautiful birds, a few kinds of monkeys, agouti, coati, iguanas, etc. The place offer's day pass which includes all the activities for a single price - I'd strongly suggest using it. We stayed just 2 nights, but managed to squeeze in all the activities. It would be easier if we stayed 3 nights though.
The whole place is very well managed and runs as an efficient machine - everything goes on time, and crew makes sure to keep all the requests met. The food in breakfast and lunch buffet is Ok (not the gourmet options, but sufficiently alright).
The place is clean and well maintained.

The pool was much smaller than it appears on the website. When we arrived the hot tub was drained and the pool bar closed, so not a great first impression. However, the Mirador restaurant has an amazing view and a delicious menu. We enjoyed the hot springs although it was a bumpy 20 min tractor ride away. Slide was fun for my son. This place was so disgusting bugs in the bed not clean front desk kept trying to charge us for every little thing. Contacted Expedia canceled our reservation and went to another hotel. Upon arrival the locals around there live in a lot of poverty and have underage workers.

Buena Vista del Rincon offered a stunning escape nestled amongst the mountains. The highlight, without a doubt, was the incredible thermal pools. Taking a dip in the natural hot springs at the base of the volcano was pure bliss. The rooms themselves were spotless and comfortable. Keep in mind that the rooms don't have air conditioning, only ceiling fans; for March it was OK for my family.
For the adventurous traveler, Buena Vista del Rincon offered a decent selection of activities. Definitely if you're a foreigner, try the cultural tour. The nature trails were well-maintained, and the horseback riding was a great way to explore the surrounding area. We also enjoyed tubing down the long slide, a refreshing way to spend a hot afternoon.
However, there were a few areas where Buena Vista del Rincon could improve. The breakfast buffet, while adequate, was fairly standard and lacked any real wow factor. The trek down to the thermal pools, though scenic in its own right, was quite dusty and could be inconvenient because, according to the hotel, the only way to get to the pools is by tractor-drawn open carriage and by reservation only. Additionally, while the ecoadventure options were enjoyable, they weren't quite as extensive or unique compared to what other hotels.
Overall, Buena Vista del Rincon is a nice place to reconnect with nature. However, if you're looking for truly exceptional ecoadventures and better meals, you might want to consider exploring other options in the area

Family trip to Rincon de la Vieja.
We have to first say that the road that leads to Buena Vista is quite tricky at night. If you can manage to drive there in daylight, it’s much easier.
As for the hotel, it’s pretty rustic but comfortable nonetheless.
Waking up to the sound of birds is great.
The food is good, especially the pizza at the mirador while watching the sunset.
We did all the activities and they were really fun and exhilarating.
We especially enjoyed the Ziplines, waterslide and Tarzan swing. Not for the faint at heart.
Staff is very helpful and a special thanks to Oscar David, who helped make our activity day a memorable one.
We also went hiking in the national park. The hike up to the falls is challenging and a lot of fun.

I’d like to be as transparent as possible in hopes to help someone else. If you have aa disability, don’t book here, if you have a problem walking far distances, it’s not for you. No AC in the rooms, very low water pressure. The rooms were hot and stuffy, with little circulation. Breakfast was included but very limited. They say it’s over at 830 and at 805 they are cleaning up. The staff at bfast serving wasn’t very friendly either. This property is very far from anything so keep that in mind when booking because transportation is more because of the distance away. Basically book here if you don’t plan to leave. Dining is over at 8pm with no other options so imagine not being able to eat. Hot water is iffy, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. Kimberly in the front was pleasant to speak to. I recommend this hotel 55 maybe. No bueno. Also, when I asked a question abt room assignment the answer was you booked on Expedia.

It was nice having eco-adventure activities right at the hotel (zip lining, horseback riding, etc.). The hot springs were also nice and relaxing (not fantastic to have to get pulled behind a tractor on the roughest road ever to get to the hot springs from the hotel but it was okay). I stayed for a couple of nights at the beginning of my trip. The resort is nice, and the surroundings are beautiful. The staff is friendly and everyone always has a smile on their face. Special thanks to Daniel who guided my horseback trip to the waterfalls. Great experience! If you are looking for a quiet retreat, make sure you don't get a room by the pool. It was really loud until evening, which made it hard to relax and enjoy a nap after travelling for a long time. I would also recommend to confirm your taxi an hour before departure, as mine was never ordered and I missed the bus I was hoping to catch at a certain time. It happens. Not a big deal. Just good to know. All in all a nice stay!

Buena Vista del Rincon Eco Adventure Park was amazing. It was a little difficult finding it because it is up a long, very bumpy road without many signs. Our room was very quiet and nice. The view from El Mirador was amazing and the drinks were delicious! We had dinner at El Jaguar. Our waiter, who was from California, was great! He went out of his way to make sure our meal was a wonderful experience! The wildlife around the inn was great too. I highly recommend Buena Vista!

The road to the property included onger bumpy rocky roads than other hotels in the area. The hot springs included are 3km away from the reception area. You need to ride a tractor on the rocky dusty road for half hour to get there and there are limited schedules. The taxi transportation is double of what Uber would charge; you cannot get any regular taxi from the hotel since it is very remote. The restaurants are expensive but not good food. The linens got big MOLD spots and are very rough. The lake view room is more like a pond view room. Most importantly, there is nothing else you can do in the area besides their overcharged activities. If you come between Jan and March, expect no sleep at night because of the wind blowing storm like noises.

This hotel is located in such a beautiful location. We saw many birds within the property than we had seen in all the paid tours elsewhere on our entire trip.

However, I'm not sure if the view is worth the price paid. Because there is nothing in terms of comfort to demand this price. The hotel is located quite far from everything so you have no other choice than to purchase all the meals here in the hotel. That adds up to the already higher price for the accommodation.

You have to reserve at the restaurant for dinner but there is no phone in the room, you have to walk to the restaurant to make a reservation.

The breakfast hours are the shortest duration I've ever experienced in a hotel; from 630 AM to 830 AM. Since you are in the middle of nowhere if you slept in you have no other choice than to wait until lunch and pay for it.

After reading all about venomous creatures in Costa Rica the structure of the cabins doesn't give any comfort. The wooden cabins has small gaps in between the wooden slaps and it's quite unsettling to think about all the possible invasions.

This is worth if the price is in the range of a motel. Because that's what the property offers. A motel in a beautiful place.

The staff at the restaurants are polite and friendly.

If you are looking for seclusion, this place definitely has it. It's about 50 minutes away from Liberia. If you plan on going anywhere in Guanacaste during your stay, driving 50 minutes one way (just to Liberia) partially on a dirt road gets old.

Plus, the accommodations are chintzy at best. There were cracks in the foundation/tile, the deadbolt wouldn't lock, there were small gaps in the wood slats (I'm sure spiders and whatnot can get in) and it was just a bit dingier in person than what the pictures show.

Plus, their listings (for us it was on Expedia) tell you that you have access to a hot springs. While that is technically true, it is not onsite. You also can't drive to it. They have to shuttle you over to it and they only run 4 shuttles the entire day with the last one leaving at 3 pm.

For us, having access to a hot springs was the biggest reason we booked, but since we also were going out and doing things during the day, we no longer would be able to use it at all during our stay. A big bummer and I would hope that their marketing materials would be a bit less misleading regarding good access to a hot springs.

Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Prices were good, food was delicious and lots to do! If you’re staying here, I suggest you rent a car, as it’s a little out of the way and it gets dark around 6 every day.
Couldn’t have chosen a better place. Very happy!

My husband and I visited this beautiful and tranquil hotel back in 2018, so we decided to go back when Covid restrictions were lifted. Little did we know that this place had been taken over by tour groups. If you are coming alone just be aware that the groups will be catered to and you will be pushed off into a corner somewhere. Unfortunately we won’t be returning.

Nice eco-resort with jungle activities

Beautiful green spaces and eco-education content. Strong wifi in an area that is pretty much without it. Not fancy by any means, but solid food and drink with loads of trails yo explore, and very close to the Rincon de la Vieja park and volcano. Would have tried the pool but it was full of toads when we visited in the evening!

Now be aware that location is not what it’s mentioned on the website and you are far from Liberia town (45mn ) and the national park Ricon de la Vieja .(1h ) in a very remote area .
