Exceptional property, luxurious rooms and professional, gracious service. My daughter got sick on a holiday weekend and the staff managed to find a physician to come to the room to treat her. They went out of their way to make the stay comfortable and special for us. The room was well appointed and always cleaned or turned down in an inviting way. They have a firepit and rocking chairs out in the cloister area - which was very charming and decorated for the festive holiday season.

Had a little misunderstanding in the very beginning because of a mistake by Expedia posting a wrong photo for the room originally booked. However, the hotel was able to adjust and give me the upgraded which match the photo originally booked. The breakfast was amazing and the staff and service were excellent.

The Anantara was incredible!! Beautiful room, incredible views from every location at the property, wonderful food, fantastic bar service and selection, and the most caring and friendly staff I've encountered! Parking was available and easy to use (Valet). The hotel offers complimentary hourly transportation to downtown Amalfi. Laundry service was efficient (but expensive). Overall, the 5-day stay was simply incredible!

A Wonderful Stay with Just One Small Drawback

I had a lovely experience staying at this hotel. From the moment we arrived, the staff were warm, welcoming, and incredibly helpful. The receptionists were friendly and professional, and the valet team went above and beyond—especially when they helped us refuel our electric car. There were no EV charging stations nearby, so they made a special effort to ensure our car was fully charged and ready for us. That level of service truly stood out.

The food at the hotel was another highlight. Every meal we had was delicious, with amazing flavors and top-notch service throughout our stay.

The only drawback, and the reason I’m giving four point five stars instead of five, was the size of the room. It was quite small, and while I understand this is due to the building’s age and historic charm, it did feel a bit cramped.

That said, everything else was excellent, and I would definitely return. Next time, I’ll make sure to request a larger room to make the experience even better!

If you like Air Conditioner in your room to work don't stay at the Anantara Convento di Amalfi Hotel. Expedia specified the hotel had AC as well as the Hotel website. I asked why the AC was not working and they said the AC was seasonal but when we were there in April it was not cold it was hot at night. They bought us a Dyson FAN for the 4 nights!!!! When I asked is they can give us a refund they did not want to give us any refund for the room not having any AC. This is a 5 star hotel for this to happen is unacceptable!!!!! Never again are we staying there.

Excellent hotel with breathtaking views. Room and bed were very comfortable. Hotel is in excellent condition as well as the rooms. There was a minibar in the room that was well stocked and also a coffee maker. Hotel had a really nice breakfast with large choice of foods for every one. The staff was very helpful and pleasant to deal with from checkin to check out. There is a car service that takes you to the town of Amalfi every hour. The staff was very accommodating and drove us down to the ferry when we had to leave. One of the nicest hotels that I have stayed in. Beautiful hotel grounds, lots of lemon trees, swimming pool, outdoor gym. A fantastic hotel that I would visit again in a heartbeat.

The hotel was in a stunning location and smelt wonderful when you walked in. The staff were attentive and the breakfast was very good. This was a special occasion for us and we booked 4 nights in one of their higher rate rooms. Having paid a lot of money we were expecting a room at least as good as the one pictured, but the room we were assigned was disappointing. The terrace area was large, bare and not private, and the room was cold with a thin duvet, and the jacuzzi was also cold. We arrived late in the evening and it felt a little like we had been given the only room left which was not really up and running, despite the nicely decorated bed and complimentary wine. The staff did all they could to appease us, and upgraded us for two of the nights to a room which felt more appropriate in terms of value to the tariff we had paid. That said, it was not an ideal situation to have to iron these issues out or to move midway and this holiday was significant for us. For the money, we just expected everything to be perfect and it certainly fell short. I would suggest ensuring you know exactly what room you are being allocated, as the photos online are \"just representative\" and actually, whilst Amalfi is expensive, I feel on balance this was not the best value hotel. We are seasoned travellers and have stayed in some wonderful hotels so I feel this is a fair comment.

We were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary and had the best time here. The entire hotel staff from guest services to the breakfast staff were amazing. We felt we were staying with our family here. The hotel management welcomed us with a bottle of Proseco wine, an upgrade of our room, bouquet of roses, cards, laminated pictures and famous lemon candies. This was a very warm welcome and beyond our imagination. The location of the property is absolutely breathtaking and you don’t need to go too many places if you want to enjoy the local culture and cuisine. We would like to say personal thanks to the wonderful breakfast staff for giving us a nice welcome with delicious entrees and freshly squeezed juices. Special thanks to Eugenio, Giovanna, Giuseppe, Carmela, Christian, Roman, Angelo and Diego. The Guest services team aimed to please as well. Many thanks to Flavia, Francesca, Francesca(Marketing), Flora, Daniella, Ludowicka, Mirko and Estella for their warm hospitality. There are other team members that we don’t remember their names but provided us excellent service too. We surely will be back again to celebrate other occasions as we have created a special bond and friendship with the Ananatara family. The fact that this was a former monastery and our room was across the Chapel enriched us spiritually as well.

We loved the fact that the hotel was a converted Abbey/Convent and all the history which is associated with the property.
The views from the terraces are spectacular and the breakfast and aperitivo options for enjoying the view on the terrace make the most of these views.
The poolside service was also excellent.

Overall great experience excpet the staff did not assist us in concierge services despite my multiple previous calls and emails asking, but the other guests who were checking in with us had plenty of help with restaruant booking. Not sure why the hotel picked and chose certain guests to help.

Hotel also did not have capacity for in-hotel restaurants for dinner but no one told us in advance reservation was needed even though we asked. Hotel service would be improved and I wish they treated all guests the same

This place is amazing! The views are gorgeous, the location is perfect. The staff go over and beyond anything that could reasonably be expected. Unobtrusively there whenever you need them.

We also had an outstanding meal at the restaurant. The great food kept coming in wave after wave. Kristian was one of the best servers we have ever had.

If you are going to Amalfi, splurge and book your stay here and get at least one meal in their restaurant - you will not regret it. It's what memories are made from.

Excellent hotel, location , friendly staff that are willing to go above and beyond for clients. There was a major power outage during our stay (no fault of the hotel , grid issue) staff did everything they could to accommodate given the circumstances. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

The only issue was that the ac wasn’t working consistently even when the power was back on but it was manageable.

The hotel was fantastic. Just up the hill from the main square in Amalfi. The pool was great and service was attentive. Marzieh upgraded us to the Presedential Suite which was very nice of her. The last day we reserved a cab from Amalfi to Naples to catch our flight. The cab was late by about 30 mins due to an accident and when we got to the airport there was no charge which I assume was comped from the hotel due to the inconvenience. The property as a whole was very interesting and with lots of rich history given it was an old convent. Would highly recommend this hotel!

I heard the neighbor next door come into their room, cough, fart, laugh, snore…EVERYTHING!!!
It actually felt like they were in our room, super scary and I felt very uncomfortable. Those standard rooms are not worth the $700-950 a night!!!! Don’t book a standard room!!! You will regret it forever!

5 ⭐️ is not enough to describe this unique, beautiful property!
My husband and I spent 10 nights, 4/25-5/5/22. The entire staff was amazing! The property is spotless and offers beautiful walkways with breathtaking views. Our room was perfect! The breakfast is definitely worth adding. The staff were very helpful prior to our arrival and during our entire stay.
Ferries are very convenient to explore all the towns along the coast. Renting a car was not recommended and we are glad we took that advice!
Thank you to everyone at the property who made our trip magical!! We strongly recommend this property and look forward to visiting Amalfi again!

My fiancé and I stayed five nights at NH in Amalfi in late March 2022 as a precursor to our wedding that's scheduled here in October 2022. Although we committed to the venue and hotel sight-unseen (we are from America and this was our first time on the Amalfi coast), the entire experience exceeded every expectation we had -- from the breakfast buffet and dinners at Dei Capuccini restaurant to the phenomenal staff to the astonishing views from up on the cliff in which the venue is situation -- we are astounded by how magnificent of an experience we had (and this was only the trial run before we're back with all our friends and family come October!).

Worth noting is that the airline lost our luggage so upon arrival to NH (and for the three days that followed), we had essentially nothing but the clothes on our backs. The concierge staff and Flora, in particular, was extremely instrumental in getting us our luggage back. Flora equipped us with toiletries and gave us detailed directions on where to find a store that carries essential products (because they are MUCH less common than I would have thought). All in all, the staff was hyper-aware of our situation and did everything in their power to accommodate to assist.

Ahmed (concierge staff) as well as Antonella (Front Office Manager) were exceptional in terms of client service. Ahead of October's wedding, I was of course full of questions and looking to confirm things while on-site and Antonella and Ahmed were so patient.

Our first trip to Amalfi and highly recommend NH Collection Grand Hotel Convento di Amalfi!! The property is AMAZING along with the service.. The staff, specifically Marzia, Diego and Francesca who made our trip one to remember with their amazing service. The hotel is remote although you can take their shuttle into Amalfi or a fairly short walk. Easy commute via taxi/bus to other areas Ravello, Positano, Alerno, etc.

They said I wouldn’t be charged for the parking because I didn’t park over night (only 4 hours in the afternoon) and yet they charged me. Also, they didn’t let me pay for the dinner and split the bill with my friend at the dinner and instead and charged me when I checked out. Most staff were friendly but a few were rude. The bathroom setup is not ideal, I have bruises from hitting the handles walking in and out & I am very petite. We were told breakfast was included by our checkin attendant and then was charged €47 a day for breakfast upon check out. Food was just okay.

The old vibe of the monastery combined with the modern updates truly made this such a unique hotel. Amazing architecture and property in Amalfi with beautiful views. The hotel has a spa with massages available and also an excellent restaurant. Take the 10 minute walk on the monk trail to town if you have decent knees, it is easy and drops you right in the main two squares.

The pool is closed in November to the Spring so be aware of that and the rooms have no air conditioning in the winter. It was hotter our week in December so this was not ideal but not a deal breaker.

Perfect spot for 50th birthday!

Such a beautiful place to spend my 50th. On arrival we were upgraded to a balcony guest room which was so fab. There was a lovely bottle of bubbly too. How kind! The staff (especially Francesca, Flavia and Antonella) were just fantastic. Breakfast beautiful. But the best bit is the hotel itself, the history, the space, the perfect combination of old and new. In December the pool was understandably closed but we were still able to enjoy the beautiful grounds and walks. Close to the town centre (via steps) on way down, and handy shuttle bus if you want on the way back.

Incredible views and walkways around the hotel
Grounds. A short walk from town. Extremely attentive and friendly staff. Incredible breakfast. It was our honeymoon and they upgraded us to a bigger, nicer room and gave us a welcome gift. Would definitely recommend this hotel!

An interesting spot.

We had only one night here as we had driven from Sicily and had booked a longer stay for Sorrento. This hotel has beautiful views and some interesting spaces to explore. The internal decor has a slightly odd 70's feel in a monastery setting but I'm sure it feels light and fun in the summer months. We were there in mid November which is post tourist season. We were given an upgrade, which we appreciated, it probably had to do with a better view which in Italy seems to correspond to a view of the water. The room was small but fine and the bathroom was beautiful though it didn't have room for a tub. I would have liked another day at this hotel.

WE LOVED THIS HOTEL!

We had a really long journey to get to Amalfi and as frazzled as we were by the time we arrived, we were invited to relax on the terrace with a tasty drink while our concierge checked us in and had our luggage brought to our upgraded room with an incredible view of the sea. We felt truly pampered. The breakfast was delicious. We swam in the beautiful infinity pool. We enjoyed the monastery as well. We only wish we could have stayed longer. What a fantastic experience!

The hotel and service are excellent. This is a higher level hotel and it shows. The layout of the hotel is a little difficult to grasp at first as it is built into the cliffside and you cannot traverse from the bottom floor to the top floor from one elevator or stairway so be sure to pay attention when the staff is explaining how to get to reception and your room. The onsite restaurant and pool are wonderful and the views around the hotel are amazing and there is some history within the hotel as well as it was built on an old monastery so there is a church on site. It is not difficult to get to the city center of Amalfi but there is plenty to do at the hotel if you are there for a short trip so you don't need to go to the city center unless you want to.

Our stay was nice but felt overpriced. The first room we were given was very small and basic. On raising this the staff were excellent and moved us to a nicer room the next day. Breakfast was OK. The view from the terrace is stunning and the restaurant a lovely experience in the evening with great food. Overall a nice stay but it did not feel overly luxurious and we expected more from what is a very expensive hotel.

Suberb Hôtel! Location with stunning view. 5 star hotel without doubt. The night restaurant in that terrace could not be more pleasant, with magnificent dishes and well attended by the staff. Very recomendable!
