Lido mare is an excellent value. It is an amazing small hotel near the main square and 5 minutes from the ferry docks. Breakfast was included and our room had a great view of the water. Would definitely stay.

The staff was very helpful and professional. The room was very spacious with water front balcony views. Located in the best location of Amalfi Town, very close to transportation, restaurants, beach and stores. Everything was perfect except that there is no iron in the room. For someone like me that needs to iron clothes before going out is necessary.

Lovely cool and spacious room with a balcony overlooking the Amalfi Coast. The room was impressively soundproofed with blackout shutters and curtains to make sleeping in a busy area a breeze.
The hotel is situated moments from local attractions and eateries, including a small beach for those wanting to take a dip in the sea!
The only thing we were unsure about was whether the breakfast option applied to our booking as the hotel manager did not confirm or deny, but we didn’t feel the need to follow up on this as we made other arrangements.
Overall, we had a thoroughly pleasant stay!

Had a 5 day stay in Amalfi, and the Hotel Lindomare was the icing on the cake! Fantastic location, amazing big room with a balcony and a sea view - perfect. The staff were wonderful, very helpful and friendly, lovely continental breakfast too.

Very spacious room and it was comfy. Unfortunately there is a bar down the street so it was noisy until 1a and the trash receptacles get dumped at 4:30a each morning. Also the shower was not fully functional and shared water everywhere.

Great location

Hotel is lovely with delightful rooms and great breakfast. No kettle or water provided in the room. Not easy to find but as k the locals as it’s tucked around behind the square. Parking is not easy, and you can’t drive to the hotel, you have to park in the main car park for the town and walk. So I did find that a bit misleading when I booked.

Amazing location with just a few seconds walk to the water/beach, as well as the main square by the duomo. The balcony overlooks the bustling waterfront which was perfect.

The location made it very easy to get to the ferry or bus stops, although there are no proper queue so it is a bit of a chaotic process once there

The hotel couldn't be better located in my opinion. It was a little tricky to locate with entry steps behind a cafe and not signed. But to be so incredibly quiet and central at the same time is a rare thing.
We didn't eat there as we'd room only. The main guy though was very helpful and friendly towards us with any requests or questions.
Great facilities in the room and a nice balcony too.
We didn't experience any problems but, it's not the most security conscious hotel, with keys accessible to anyone with intent on the brief occasions the front desk was unattended. As it's a fairly small family run place it's nicely low key but possibly a bit short on manpower. I still wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Lidomare or stay again if we return.

Old world Italian charm, big balconies to relax on

Wonderful family-run hotel with old-world Italian charm. The rooms are not \"modern\" but instead transport you to a more elegant time, and don't let the hotel's old facade fool you....it may not look like much from the outside, but the charming interior will win you over, as will the nice sized balconies and wonderful old couple who run the place (loved the breakfast here with fresh pastries and various Italian cakes).

We would come back!

We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Lidomare. The location is great, as well as the host. Furniture is somewhat run down, and room had some dust and ruse, but that didn’t bother us. If we come back to Amalfi, we would stay there again. Definitely request a sea view room, it’s GORGEOUS.

The location is excellent. It is hard to find, but right off the main square. The property is very old and they gave us a very small room and minimal bathroom. They did not want us using the air conditioning so every time we left the room they shut off the breaker! It leaked the first day and they said they needed to shut it off to prevent this, but didn’t tell us till we kept asking why it was off. They would just turn it off. It was 90F outside! Would never stay here again and if you do make sure you ask for a large room with a view. Otherwise your room will be sub par.

Lovely, clean hotel with affordable prices and great breakfast. Location is central and close to all amenities in Amalfi. Staff is very friendly. One thing to note for anyone with mobility issues, is that there are about 30 steps to get up to the quiet side piazza that the hotel is located on. Other than that, we loved everything about this hotel and had a wonderful time.

THIS IS THE BEST LOCATION YOU COULD POSSIBLY FIND! Steps away from the amalfi boat dock and bus station but still a tiny bit tucked away in a little nook! Just a warning you do need to walk up 20 or so steps to get there but we didn’t mind and the amalfi coast is FULL of stairs so this isn’t unusual. We loved the town of Amalfi because it wasn’t as expensive or busy as Positano but it was so easy to get to every single little town (word of advice to go Ravello :) ) The staff were wonderful and the rooms were so quaint and homey. We loved the decor and to top it off had the best view of the water with a cute balcony to drink coffee on or read a book. 10/10 recommend!

Spectacular stay!

My stay at Hotel Lidomare was above and beyond of what I expected. Lidomare Hotel is centrally located in Amalfi, close to everything. Bit tricky to find an entrance but with the help of locals it was a breeze. Room was fully renovated with lovely antique furnishings, it had a great ambiance and small terrace was an icing on the cake. I definitely would stay there again and I highly recommend this hotel!

Hotel was beautiful and very well located. Shower was tricky because no shower curtain, and not an overhead shower. Really more of a bathtub but that doesn't seem that uncommon in Italy. We arrived late in the evening coming from Rome, we called ahead to inform them of late check-in. The man at the front desk was very helpful with directions and advice on how to get the hotel. When we arrived he walked us to our room and was very accommodating. The room was nice with a great ocean view, and comfy bed. Breakfast was wonderful. I would gladly stay again. However, you do need to haul your luggage up 29 stairs to get to that area of town, but it was worth it!

While this hotel is well located in town, it is extremely noisy and disruptive because it is also located right on the main highway. Because of several restaurants, bars and other attractions late night noise negatively impacted our stay.

Old world charm.

This is a charming old fashioned hotel. Our room was large with a balcony overlooking the busy port. Closing the windows blocked out the noise. We enjoyed sitting on the balcony watching the hustle of the port area. Also the sunrise and sunset was beautiful. Lots of character, good breakfast and excellent service.

It was a real treat to stay in this hotel. Very spacious clean safe room close to beach. Easy to find. Facilities not modern and new but genuine authentic and functional. Staff and breakfast wonderful. Wifi generally good but did drop out a little. No problem.
Only had overnight stay but so taken with hotel and Amalfi wished could stay longer.

Pay a little extra for somewhere else....

Amazing location being right in the heart of everything but that is the only decent thing about it. Staff staff were useless and not helpful at all, didn't tell us anything g about anything then it was a big effort when we wanted to know about anything.
Shower leaked and flooded our bathroom, rooms are very outdated but at least the aircon worked. Breakfast included in the room price was terribly basic and I'd go out for it honestly.

Amazing location, right near the main square. But to get to the door it was an ordeal, especially if you come late and bellboy service is no longer available, usually after 8pm. You have to haul all your luggage on these many steps, from your car which is in the city parking lot where the round about is, where you leave your car for them to park it who knows where, somewhere safe hopefully, because you give the key to a person and they take it and park it. Then you haul all your luggage over that parking area, then over the main square plaza, then up the stairs. But you are near the beach and the duomo, and main eating and shopping area, and that was awesome. The hotel is in a 600 year old building, that looks over the water. Gorgeous views. Basic amenities, no blankets, only sheets to cover, we were cold so we had to use the bed spreads to cover with on top of the sheets. Bathroom was really small. But it had everything you needed. Breakfast was fine, all the basics included.

Very dishonest ! Our rooms were not available when we arrived. They were given to someone else! No rooms available for us. We had reserved two room. He used excuse that credit card was no good. Totally untrue! Then he stated we did not pay enough. Then he stated who am I going to rent to tomorrow night. Explained our reservation was for 2 rooms, one night. He insisted it was for 2 nights. .. Showed him copy of hotels.com reservation , he stated did not read English. He refused to give us his name, he kept saying Expedia has my name. THE WORSE CUSTOMER SERVICE WE HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED . RUDE AND VERY DEGRADING INDIVIDUAL. We feel since Amalfi was so busy and so booked, he figured he could get more money for room, than the rate we were given in our March reservation.

Hidden gem! Fantastic!

I had spent 6 days in a horrible hotel in Rome, so coming here was like heaven!
The room was unbelievably large for a single room to what I expected. I was so surprised. The bathroom was gorgeous. The shower was amazing.
The bed and pillows were so comfy. Air con included in the room was brilliant. The gentleman on reception could not do enough - he was so helpful. Even when I realised I did not have the right adapted for my phone be found me one.
I could not fault this hotel one bit.
The location was brilliant, two minutes away from the local centre, five minutes away from the beach.
I will be most definitely be returning to this hotel when I come back to amalfi - in fact I can't wait!

We have stayed in many hotels in Amalfi but can honestly say that The Lidomare is by far the best. We were pleased to revisit it this summer and noticed that it had been refurbished. Our room was huge with an impressive balcony and spotlessly clean. There are three wonderful signoras who are in charge of housekeeping and they are so friendly. They make the place feel like home. I can't wait to return!

Exactly what we wanted.

Two days at Hotel Lidomare in July 2016. Hotel location was excellent. Family room was sufficient size for us and our 2 college student children. Much of our room-time was spent on the balcony overlooking the Amalfi coast road and the harbor. Building is old, but has a character that comes only from time. Staff is welcoming, friendly and helpful. If you're looking for a relaxing experience in a charming town set in costal Italian paradise, this is your choice.

Very historic building. Good price, perfect location. It is not going to be a very fancy hotel if thats what you are looking for. But the main reason we stayed here was for the location and the price. When you go downstairs, you can walk to the beach and the whole town of Amalfi. The staff was pleasant and we enjoyed our time there.

Excellent location, friendly service (which means a lot in this part of the world), large, clean room. They even had parking (at €20/day though, still cheaper than public parking). And the balcony in the room facing the coast was incredible. Definitely ask for a sea facing room and you won't be disappointed. Given the price, this place was outstanding.

The hotel had a real Italian feel to it. We found everything about the hotel and staff excellent. It was exceptionally clean and was right in the centre of Amalfi, so convenient for restaurants etc. The harbour and bus station are close by if you want to visit nearby towns/islands.
