The location is superb, quiet, friendly and yet very close to the beauty of the historic town. The staff was super kind, friendly and attentive at all times. Breakfast was very good. Our room was super comfortable and super clean. Kudos to all staff but in particular to Lucio who ran the extra mile in making our stay unforgettable. Definitely a repeat on our next trip to Siena. Thanks to you all.

Todos os funcionários foram bem educados e respeitosos. Recepcionista até me deu um mapa com pontos turísticos da região. A entrada do estacionamento precisava ser sinalizada, pois não tem como parar na frente do hotel para perguntar. Mas gostei bastante do hotel e viria novamente.

It all starts with a welcoming staff, and this hotel has the nicest staff I’ve ever encountered. Add to that the location, the excellent breakfast, and the cleanliness of the hotel, and it’s definitely one of the best stays at a hotel I’ve ever had.

This property was lovely, the rooms were clean and comfortable, beds were a bit firm. We had breakfast included and there was a lot of variety and it was very delicious. The staff was outstanding and very friendly, spoke excellent English. The garden area was beautiful and they had a bar so you could enjoy the beautiful view with a cold drink. It was a short walk into the walled city of Siena which had lots of dining and shopping options. I would recommend this property

Front desk staff was helpful and spoke Fluent English. There is a bus stop close by, but I just walked the old stone streets. They have a nice garden overlooking the nearby hills. Breakfast was well prepared, and the staff preparing they accommodated me.

Hotel Santa Caterina was wonderful, rooms a bit small, but comfortable. The view of the Tuscan hillside from their garden balcony (where we had breakfast) was especially beautiful.
The only flaw was their window shutters did not let in enough light, offering no view, and leaving the room very dark all the tme!!

First impressions worth miles and hours of flights

Upon my arrival I realized I didn’t need to worry about any misunderstanding or looking up how to say my words in Italian, the receptionists “spoke” the courteous smile language, that genuine smile that says more than words and any person willing to go above and beyond have. Only stayed for one day, but surely will come back and stay here longer.

This hotel placed near the city center. It takes 30 minutes to get to Campo Square. Breakfast was a little unique .. not buffet for free self pick up but served by the staff. Any they were kind and nice.

The staff at this facility were very professional, friendly and attentive. The breakfast is great and the service excellent even if you do not speak Italian. If you rent a car, which we did, they have gated parking in the back of the hotel. (Note: there is a small fee for this but well worth it, because finding parking in Tuscany in general can be like finding the holy grail. A word of advise, if you’ve never driven in Italy, don’t; rely on public transportation🤔😂. It’s a nice walk to the entrance of historical Sienna, where we always felt safe even during the night hours. The room might be a little small compared to American standards, but the view out the window and old wood gave the atmosphere we were looking for. Note: our room had a loft with the sleeping quarters on the upper level, the steps were steep; it was not a problem for us but if you have small children or a disability you might want to ask about it. If you need to know anything as the concierge, they are available 24 hours a day and even helped us order pizza for delivery to the hotel on the last night we were there. There is also a small tax you have to pay that is not included in the booking rate, but believe this is true throughout Italy. Overall a great experience and would stay there again.

A wonderful hotel!

The unique property with it's beautiful garden is a treed oasis. It has views into the countryside and is the perfect spot for breakfast. The location is perfect. Just outside the gate of the old city. Staff were so friendly and helpful. What a wonderful place to stay!

Rude male staff - spent more time telling us we were wrong And it was our fault than helping us and showing empathy about our incorrect booking (we had not seen the room was a split level with the toilet downstairs and this was a problem for us as I am pregnant and struggle with stairs at night). Empathy is not something He had been taught - a course may help him. Breakfast was fine - I won’t write home about it. Looking back, the location from the Center may be a bit far for some. Parking was easy to find. The view was fine but you can find much better views in Tuscany!!!

I love the property because I felt like HOME. This is a property with character, antique, classic and every day you see a new details in the decoration. I took pictures every day with an artist eye. GREAT customer service. HAPPY staff taking pride in serving their guesses with a smile always..everything is minutes away. The best restaurants in town were highly recommended by the Hosts and i was very satisfied of their cuisine. I will come back again...with my family 💖👌

The property and it’s garden are excellent. I especially liked the breakfast room which is adjacent to the garden making the atmosphere very pleasant. The only downside for us was the hotel location which is outside the city wall. The walk into the city center was a little too long for us because we both use canes. If you don’t have problems walking this is a fine location.

Great location very short walk to the centre of Siena. Lots of on street free parking too.
The room was very comfortable but do check what you have booked if you are not comfortable with a split level room with the bed upstairs as the stairs are steep.
They have a beautiful garden where you can have breakfast which has gorgeous views. We loved this hotel!

I liked the view from the court yard. It made our stay tolerable.

I didn't like the bed, very soft and lumpy.

Alicia was wonderful and I can't say enough good things about her. But the person at the front desk when we arrived was not very helpful at all. We asked him if he could tell us about places to eat dinner and his response was nothing available without a reservation! We walked 800 meters and found so many restaurants and pizzerias open to us. Yes, they asked if we had a reservation but when we said no they accepted us anyway.

Also, the safe in our room was missing it's door!

Location was perfect being just outside the Via Roma. Being outside the gate, it was quiet and had a fabulous garden area for breakfast and enjoying a bottle of wine (or champagne) overlooking the rolling hills and villas in the afternoon.

The best thing about this property was the view from its back side of the Tuscan hills. Simply stunning. Unfortunately, that was basically what you are paying for. We paid for a triple room where there was a bathroom and a very small desk with a chair and another chair within arms reach. To reach the sleeping area, you had to climb up metal steps, maybe 10 or so that made a turn halfway up. My husband and I had a king size bed but my adult son had to sleep on a cot next to us when we paid for a “sofa bed”. Seems like false advertising and a bait and switch. Would not stay here ever again.

My daughter, sister in law and I took a girls trip through Italy earlier this summer and had a wonderful time at this hotel. The staff was spectacular and so helpful. They have a really nice breakfast buffet overlooking Siena, and you can eat inside or the courtyard. The hotel concierge spoke excellent English and she and her daughter were so charming. It's about a mile walk into the heart of Siena, or you can take the bus for a Euro. The bus stop is right outside the hotel and the concierge walked us to it to make sure we knew which bus to get on. They have a laundry service that we used which came in very handy. Loved it. Would definitely recommend it to anyone traveling through Siena.

The staff at this hotel were extremely helpful particularly coming out in the street to our car to help us get the car back to Hertz. Great service also in the morning. Our room had a great view but was on two levels with a steep staircase. The garden was beautiful with a panoramic view of the valley and surrounding landscape. A pity we had to catch an early train and couldn't have a leisurely breakfast in the garden

Santa Caterina Hotel is close to Porta Romana y you can walk to any of the city's landmarks from there. The staff was incredibly helpful and the hotel offered a parking spot for less than it would cost leaving your vehicle in a parking spot.

Charming Hotel

This hotel has that old world charm about it. Our room was a duplex with the bedroom and the refrigerator up a spiral staircase and everything else on the lower level. That was a little daunting at first but we were able to cope with it. The hotel staff treated us like long-lost family and couldn’t have been nicer to us. Having breakfast on the back patio, under the trees, looking out over the rolling Tuscan hills is the stuff dreams are made of.

Our stay at this hotel was wonderful. It was outside of the hustle and bustle of the busy center of Siena but still within walking distance to everything. The staff was professional, courteous and helpful at all times. The garden was beautiful and a wonderful place to relax in the late afternoons. The hotel is charming, comfortable and tastefully done.

On the edge of Siena, this hotel is convenient and very comfortable. The staff are friendly and helpful and the garden is a delight to sit out in and have an evening drink or morning coffee. Our room was comfortable despite the (large) bed being on a mezzanine above the bathroom and changing area. The lift made luggage handling easy and the air conditioning/hearing worked well. Lovely breakfast in the conservatory.

This hotel is perfect if you don't want to be in the middle of the city. It is a 2 km walk to most restaurants/sites. It is located on a busy street, but the windows are sound proof. The staff were very friendly and made some great restaurant recommendations.

Stunning view of Tuscan Countryside

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hotel Santa Caterina. When we arrived we were upgraded to their beautiful two bedroom apartment for no extra charge. The apartment is filled with gorgeous antique furniture and an incredible view of the Tuscan countryside. The staff at the hotel were genuinely friendly and very helpful. We couldn’t have asked for a better location, it is steps to the gate if the old city, perfect for strolling around and exploring the sights of beautiful Siena. Our stay in Siena was short, but wonderful. I wish we could have stayed longer. I would highly recommend Hotel Santa Caterina to anyone who is visiting Siena.

A very nice hotel with good location.
Front desk staff extremely welcoming and helpful. Cannot say enough about Mr. V. He was extremely knowledgeable about Siena. He gave us great tips about navigating the city inside the walls. He is someone who certainly enjoys his job and enthusiastic about his hotel and city.
Rooms extremely clean and quiet.
Breakfast room very nice with typical choices for continental breakfast.
Local bus stop 50 meters from front door. Use bus 2 to get to escaltor up into city for1.20 euros. Taxi to same Piazza San Francesco costs 10 euro.
Off street parking avaible for additional charge and worth it.

This must be one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at. The staff were all very professional, while also very friendly and offering a great deal of assistance: staff offered to drive my rental car at night and in the morning after I commented how narrow (and scary) the entrance to the parking lot was; they called various agencies for us to make reservations when our Italian (almost non-existent) was not up to it; the breakfast was always excellent; the manager suggested an excellent itinerary for visiting medieval villages and a monastery that were not highlighted in guide books; and the location, while outside the walls, is about a 2 minute walk to the old city entrance. If I could give it 6 stars, I would, and I tend to be a bit fussy about hotels.

This was the second time we stayed at this hotel. It is small and old but the staff are excellent and the garden has great views over the Tuscan countryside. The hotel is a lovely place to spend sometime in Siena.

Great b&b!

This is my second stay in Siena at Hotel Santa Caterina and it was lovely. The staff are helpful and the hotel is beautiful. The views from the garden are like no other. It is quiet and about a 15 minute walk from the center of town. The road is is located on is busy, but you can't hear anything from your room. The breakfast is fabulous, and it is a great view. Highly recommend this hotel!

Lovley traditional hotel

Lovley hotel with beautiful views. The staff at this hotel are wonderful they make you feel vey welcome and nothing is to much trouble for them .i would certainly stay here again and recommend it to friends and family

Excellent Value Hotel with Car Parking

Located just outside city gate so able to come & go by car with ease. 10-15 minute walk to centre of town with lots of cafes & shops (though nothing immediately next to hotel). Rooms are quiet, comfortable & mine had a nice view & good air-con.Good breakfast in garden with great countryside view. Really friendly & helpful staff. Parking is a bit tight by UK standards, but you give the keys to the staff & they effectively park it properly for you. Recommended.

Great location and wonder view of the countryside

This hotel was a wonderful little surprise in Sienna, breakfast outside overlooking the valley was such a treat. Quick little walk into Sienna so the location was ideal.
