Our stay at Eastin Hotel Penang was excellent. The hotel provided a comfortable, clean, and quiet environment, and its proximity to Queensbay Mall was very convenient.

A special commendation goes to Ms Azura, whose consistent warm welcome and cheerful demeanor significantly enhanced our breakfast experience.

The breakfast itself was already among the best we have encountered. Additionally, Dave, the chef at the warm food counter, consistently prepared exceptionally fluffy and moist omelets.

Mr. Shakib, a member of the executive lounge service crew, was remarkably attentive. He was the first to proactively inquire if we required any alcoholic beverages or beer, beyond those available at the self-service drink counter.

Our housekeeper, Jitender, also deserves recognition. He always greeted us with enthusiasm and diligently ensured that everything was in order throughout our stay.

We look forward to returning to Eastin Hotel Penang on our next visit to the area.

Great hotel if you do not want to be staying in the middle of the Georgetown traffic. Next door to the higher end Queensbay Mall and within walking distance to local eateries and convenience shops, you just need to set up your Grab account for a ride to town or the airport. Staff service was excellent, attended to all of my small requests.

My partner and I stayed at The Eastin as we were running the Pantai Marathon and the start line was 300 metres from the hotel. Our stay was comfortable but nothing special.

The hotel is a bit tired compared to other hotels I’ve stayed in Penang and the 4 star rating is pushing it. The rooms are small and the upgraded “sea view” rooms were not worth the money. The view was primarily other buildings and roads.

There were no towels at the swimming pool, we had to go up the gym to find the last two. The gym looks great although we didn’t use on this occasion.

In short, a fairly good business hotel or somewhere to stay for one night close to the airport.

The hotel is conveniently located quite close to the airport so we elected to stay and look around Queensbay Mall for a day. There were plenty of places to eat right near the hotel and the shopping was great. The check in was very slow as they had allocated us a lower level of room than what we paid for and needed the manager to reassign the room. Breakfast was quite good but we would have loved to see some specific gluten free options. The rooms were ok. A bit dated but comfortable enough. I may choose to stay again if arriving in Penang late at night or during peak hour traffic.

We’ve stayed here a number of times. This is the first time we’ve had a couple of substantial disappointments. Check-in was time consuming & messy—not because of ghe nice lady who eventually checked us in, but because the other staffers allowed two parties who showed up after us to cut in line & get fully taken care of ahead of us. It was a clear case of improperly trained staff who—due to lack of attention—reward rude, pushy customers and penalize more polite customers. The managers could see this if review the CCTV. Thankfully, once the energetic lady receptionist got her line clear she checked us in smoothly.

Then, my wife was rather forcefully told to leave the breakfast area because the restaurant crew wanted to clean up early. It’s one thing to politely inform guests that food service is about to end (that’s fine & helpful), but to kick guests out who are merely sitting & conversing at a table—who does that? Apparently Easton now does. Service here has really gone down.

Overall alright since this is not my first time staying here for business. Something to feedback is about the hair dryer which I don’t recall it to be this way. The hair dryer sounded loud when it’s switched to the strongest. Sometimes I have to switch back to low immediately worrying it may over heat anytime. Don’t feel safe in using it though. Another is the shower water, which turns extremely hot every 30sec, this could pose safety concern too.

Once you enter the property, you feel calm and relax. Starting from the front desk staff who are friendly when you checked in and explained clearly about the hotel and room. The room though small but nicely decor and with a great view.
Breakfast was awesome and it was one of the best I ever had throughout my travelling experience. I can even take away coffee for my travelling to my business meeting.
I will definitely come back to stay in this hotel for my next trip to Penang. Thank you

Enjoyable stay in Eastin Hotel

Pleasant stay. I’m the regular guests at this hotel for so many years and even after the closed boarder due to covid. Eastin Hotel does not failed me. The difference is now there are 2 different keys. 1 for lift and other access another 1 is for room access which I found is very troublesome. And only provide 1 sets to me where I requested for 2.

I have no issues on cleanliness. Granted, the room is quite small for the price paid. What I think this hotel should improve on is the frontdesk staff. The male trainee seemed to be blurry, and I tried to communicate in English, but his English is quite poor. Forget about his Bahasa Melayu..

Eastin is a well placed hotel and plenty of amenities nearby, be it food or otherwise. There's also a shopping mall a few minutes walk away.

The only thing I find not-so-good is that the wall is not noise insulated well enough.

Amira in the reception was very helpful & prompt in assisting us with our needs! Thanks to our room attendant, Alam, as well for keeping our room squeaky clean. We definitely enjoyed our stay here.

Perhaps just one thing to comment on. Called the operator one of the nights to ask what would be the nearest hospital bcs my boyfriend wasn't feeling well but I was put on hold while he check with his colleague. I think that's some basic thing staff should know especially being in the call centre. Thank goodness, it's not urgent for us.
