Lovely quiet spot in November
A lovely part of the island to stay in and this time of the year we almost had the place to ourselves. We self catered for most of our meals as few restaurants were open and the kitchen was sufficiently equipped to allow us to cook up a variety of meals. The air conditioning unit was able to provide heat in the cooler evenings and the bed was comfortable. We had a few issues with the hotels.com messaging system before arrival but on arrival all was in place for us and we only saw the cleaner mid week as reception was closed for some building works.

WE have rented apartments in Playa de Fornells 6 times now and this one was far and away the best one. The apartment was clean, light and newly re-equipped with the best views in the resort and right next to the pool. We would not hesitate to book this again on future trips.

Holiday at El Bigantin
Arrived late following flight delays, after midnight. Access to property appartment 03 was easy following previous instructions. Spoke to reception staff following day, Very helpful and pleasant. The apartment had excellent views and was well appointed.
We were informed that restaurant and bar was closed due to staffing issues, we had not been advised throughout the booking process of this situation, but the property was advertised with the facilities being available. This was a disappointment. Had an issue with a local resident over sunbeds. It seems owing to 8 being available, 2 broken, they felt more entitled due to their residency on the complex a further disappointment. On last day following check out at 11.00 am were informed we could leave cases at reception and obtain shower facilities later in afternoon before leaving for airport. On return at around 3.00 pm sadly we were informed that reception closed at 4.00 pm and it was too late for my wife and daughter to shower before leaving for airport having spent our last day in very warm weather!! We were not informed of this prior to leaving to spend our last day of our holiday. Our stay at el Bigantin was anticipated to be completely enjoyable and stress free, given the length of time we have waited to travel. Sadly these issues made it less than completely enjoyable .Regards M.Woods.

A peaceful, beautiful place to stay.
We enjoyed every minute of our stay. The whole complex is beautifully presented, with landscaped gardens all around. The area is very quiet, and quite hilly, so possibly not for anyone with walking difficulty. We ate locally on several days, but were also very glad to have a car so that we could visit other nearby beaches.
The apartment was spacious, beautifully decorated, comfortable, and with everything you could need. Excellent kitchen area and bathroom with good walk in shower and bidet. Balcony overlooking the pool where we could sit in the early evening. Lovely pool with plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas.

Peaceful retreat in the north of the island
We loved our stay here, it was very tranquil despite the apartments apparently being quite full, but it didn’t feel like it. Our room was very clean, well equipped but small kitchen area. Bed was large and comfortable, and lovely balcony facing out towards the sea, which was great for dining and watching the sunsets. Downsides were tired decor, I really didn’t like the shower curtain, (a large picture of a dolphin!) sorry! Although the shower worked fine. The fridge was noisy and kept us awake at night, and no air conditioning but the fan was better than expected. Wi-fi was at times non existent, but we were told someone was coming to fix it, unfortunately for us after we were checking out. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the complex in general was peaceful, with a pleasant chilled restaurant/bar and we loved our early evening dip in the pool, just us and the resident sparrows! It really was a peaceful retreat, and we'd definitely stay again, and can heartily recommend others to stay here.

Wonderfully quiet
Stayed in a studio apartment, which was surprisingly roomy, and had great views across the bay. Very clean and in good order, and well equipped - even tea towels and washing up liquid. And a proper king sized bed, not two singles pushed together.
You really need a car to get about, the fact that the apartments are so quiet also means that they are little way from bars and restaurants. the bar and restaurant on site is a separate business from the apartments, it does not do breakfasts, and seemed to open when it felt like it, although mid September is a little off season.
The great views across the bay are because the apartments are built on the side of a hill - might not be so great if you are infirm as there are lots of steps and slopes.
The pool does not catch the sun all day (west facing) so was not very warm!! But no fighting for a sun bed!
But if you want to chill and have some peace and quiet, I would thoroughly recommend the El Bergantin

The room was spacious and clean. The views are really incredible. The restaurant on-site has good food and drinks. The lobby was closed when we arrived and we were able to retrieve the room keys from the restaurant without a problem. The staff was very accommodating on our day of departure, allowing us to lock the luggage on-site while we kept touring the island.

Hemos pasado 4 días muy agradables. El apartamento estaba situado al borde del acantilado y las vistas eran magníficas. La cocina estaba muy bien equipada y todo bastante nuevo y muy limpio. Lo único malo y bastante importante, las camas, un colchón durísimo, viajamos bastante y da igual el precio, categoría o lugar de España pero los colchones en general son horrorosos.

Un lugar muy tranquilo y bien cuidado para relajarse con vistas impresionantes y unas puestas de sol para recordar. La habitación con cocina y ac, muy limpia y la cama comodísima. Hay restaurantes que están bien en la urbanización. Hemos disfrutado ahí de la tranquilidad por el día y por la noche nos íbamos a Fornells, unos 7 min en coche. También hay un supermercado cerca. Sin duda volveremos, nos encantó nuestra visita a menorca y a este hotel.
