Absolutely perfect location: a private peninsula right by the sea, with its own beach and seawater pool — it couldn’t have been better. The ideal place to end the autumn season: swimming and reading under the sun. The hotel’s shuttle made getting to Taormina’s center quite convenient, but the best part was definitely our base here — a room with a stunning sea view. The staff were lovely and welcoming.

The location of the hotel having a private beach was great, even in the off season. The hotel itself was super clean, but a tad dated in decor, but the views make up for it and then some. Shuttle to Taormina was great, but often would get booked up. I spent way more on transportation during this trip. Hotel has taxis on hand, but a little pricey since it is not safe to walk on the roads (and considering you’re on a cliff).

The staff was very friendly and very helpful with helping us acquire taxis to and from the hotel, and from our restaurants and then return very personalized attention.

Our room was very modern remodeled, upgraded the view from our balcony was spectacular the pool area. The grotto to the pool and to the beach was beyond belief..

The views for a late night or early drink before dinner with spectacular of the mountain the water. Additionally is the same view that you receive for breakfast every morning.

The beach areas are fabulous. The staff at reception and the beach bar are excellent. The bar manager not so good. We had a very bad meal at the bar area. The wait was long and the food was cold. Didn’t pay for the food but the manager was not the most pleasant to deal with. The room was a good size but the shower not the best and you have to remember to press the flusher twice or it will stay flushing which is noisey. Breakfast was ok but limited choice on hot stuff ( which was actually luke warm at best)

Travelers beware. I booked this hotel because the pictures looked amazing on the internet. The rooms are incredibly small & VERY OUTDATED! Bathrooms were an old ceramic, towels were very old & scratchy. The carpeting in the hallways were very old, outdated & worn out. The sofas outside of the “spa” had slip covers over them. The food selection at the restaurant & bar area was very limited. They served potato chips at the bar as soon as we sat down?! Come on?! You have to park your own car and get your own car in the garage. I was EXTREMELY disappointed. Do NOT stay here! It was a total let down & disappointment!!!!

The reason to book this “outdated property “ is the private beach and outdoor pools!
The staff was competent but not friendly -we had issues with the view of our sea view room-top floor which is low to the ground and other guests laundry was hanging on the rail outside our balcony /
The room overall had an outdated cruise ship vibe-we did think the pools and private beach were special. Shuttle to town was nice but times a little unpredictable.

This hotel was absolutely beautiful. We were upgraded on arrival to a beautiful room over looking the sea with a walk out patio. The pool area and beach were beautiful. The view from this hotel was spectacular. We could see Mt Etna. The breakfast that was included was outstanding and the best we have ever had at a hotel. Shuttle service was an added bonus. Would highly recommend this resort. Hoping to come back. Outstanding!!!!

The free breakfast is amazing. The views oh my!!!! The beach is sweet and the pool nice. Free shuttle services was a game changer too. Anything we needed we got it. Fresh orange juice and champagne in the morning with a coffee machine that was holy cow. Friendly folks in top of everything!!!!

The price doesn't justify because it's so old!

Oh god. I'm going to sound like a parrot because this seems to be the main issue of the hotel. IT. IS. OLD. And when you're paying $800 a night for this hotel, it doesn't seem reasonable. If it was $500 a night, I don't think I'd be saying this but it's hard to justify when it's that much. The hotel's saving grace is its location and the pool/beach area.

Do yourselves a favor and upgrate the property!

We really enjoyed our stay! The beach view was beautiful, and having the pool on-site made it extra convenient. The staff were wonderful and very attentive to details. The only downside is that it’s not very easy to walk into town since the streets are tricky, but the free shuttle back and forth makes up for it.

We had a sea view room and it was glorious. We didn’t want to leave! Shuttle to the town was very handy but we also walked around to Isolla Bella and caught the cable car up to the town for €5. Walk was about 10mins. Breakfast was fine but for the standard of the hotel thought there might have been more options including eggs cooked to order. We saw some people get them but believe it cost extra. If it didn’t then this wasn’t well publicised. The lift to the beach and pool area makes this place worthwhile alone. The water is glorious and the restaurant down there super delicious too!

This property, with its direct access to the water is hard to beat. The shuttle service into town is great because the walk is too far and treacherous and would otherwise be €20 each way. The rooms are very spacious if not a little dated. Flooring appears to be new. The hotel kindly arranged us to be in the same room for the 4 nights as we had 2 separate bookings and didn’t charge us more when one night had been booked for a garden view room. Breakfast was good although some changes day to day might be nice and some cooked eggs besides the pre cooked scrambled and boiled eggs would be good. Some more salad options too. Gym needs to have windows closed and air con on as there was too little airflow. Restaurant by the pool is stunning especially the spaghetti vongole! Would happily stay again. Staff were very accomodating and lovely.

If you are looking for a high end resort that is on the beach and away from the busyness of the city this is your place! A spectacular resort on the edge of the Ionian with spectacular panoramic views of Mount Etna, Isola Bella and the sea. Free shuttles are also available from the resort if you would like to venture into Taormina city. The food however on the resort is not as spectacular as the resort itself.

The best part of the hotel is the view. They have a beautiful terrace for a drink at sunset. The rooms are not up to date and it feels like you are on a cruise ship. The hotel is not walking distance to anything. Besides the view I would not choose this hotel.

Disappointed for price paid. Two pillows on a king with absolutely terrible sheet quality. Arrived at 4. Surprised to find the beach bar closed, then got comfortable at the pool, for it to close at 7:30- when it stays light out until 9.
A lot of people saved the chairs closest to the pool, so it would be nice to have service in the further up seating areas away from the pool.
Breakfast had a lot of options, but the cooked items were terrible. A lot of sweets, but the children running around putting their hands on everything was gross.
Had dinner in property, beautiful water side dining, but again disappointed in everything but dessert.
We were upgraded to a suite the last night with a gorgeous huge patio and were told it was an over 1000 €, with the same terrible bedding

This past visit July 2025 will mark our third consecutive summer stay at this gem of a hotel. We continue to enjoy the spacious accommodations and friendly staff. Like a sightly faded beauty, this 50 something year old hotel certainly can use an update , and we have been advised that is in progress. However you cannot beat the spaciousness and slightly faded grandeur of this beautiful property. The hotel is situated on what I believe to be one the ‘most’ gorgeous and picturesque of the entire Taormina area. The private grotto beach and pool areas are spectacular as is the view of Mount Etna from the buffet breakfast terrace.

Let me say that we did have a great time staying at the hotel. The pool area is awesome and the staff is very nice. That being said the room is very dated. The shower set up was probably the most inconvenient shower I have ever encountered in my whole life Made absolutely no sense. The shuttle service has much to be desired very limited and always full. Only was able to get on the shuttle one time otherwise paid for taxis on a consistent basis. The restaurants are really not that good and extremely overpriced. Put that being said we still had a good time and would return but being aware that the shuttle is useless and the restaurant on the promises is not a good option. Again, the staff was wonderful and the room was kept extremely clean.

Great location and amazing views! Our hotel room had a beautiful balcony with a view of Mt. Etna! The pool area was very nice and drinks and food can be ordered while relaxing or you can go to the bar! Stepping off the elevator and having the doors open to the gorgeous ocean view as you walk through the cave is always amazing! Truly an experience! All staff is friendly and helpful! The shuttles that take you back and forth to the town of Taormina are a great feature and many options of times! Just make sure to reserve early AM your spots!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at UNA Capotaormina Hotel in Taormina, Sicily, and while it wasn’t perfect, the experience was overall quite memorable.The real standout features of this hotel are the pool and the cave beach—absolutely stunning and definitely the highlight of the stay. The pool area is a perfect spot to unwind, with breathtaking views of the Mediterranean. The beach, carved into the cliffside, offers a unique and secluded vibe, making it an idyllic spot to relax and soak in the beauty of the coast.

The views from the hotel are something out of a postcard, particularly from the Le Grand Bleu restaurant, where you can enjoy a meal overlooking the ocean and Mount Etna. Dining there was an experience in itself—the food was good, though pricey, and you're really paying for experience.

The complimentary breakfast was fantastic, offering a wide variety of fresh options. It really set a positive tone for the day.

Room for Improvement:
The hotel itself, while charming, is definitely dated. I wasn’t bothered by this during my stay, but I think a renovation could take UNA Capotaormina to the next level. The facilities are functional and comfortable, but a fresh update would elevate the experience and make the property feel more luxurious.

We loved ending our trip to Sicily at Una Hotel Taormina! We were so lazy spending nearly every day lounging by the pool/sea. The staff was amazing. We only went to town once, but was easy to use the shuttle if you plan ahead. We spent one day at Mt Etna-not too far & worth it! Sadly, we did not do a boat ride due to weather-wasnt awful, but since we had already done a boat in Ortegia we watched the boats in the drizzle from under our umbrella by the sea :) We would stay there again!
PS Bed was so comfortable & balcony view amazing! Room Decor was quaint, like staying Nonna’s house, old country Italian, but super clean! The other spaces were modernized.

UNACapotaormina was an absolute dream. The staff was so friendly, ready to help and accommodate you at any moment. My husband and I went there to get married and the beauty salon offered me a free 25 minute massage prior to doing my hair which was incredible. Their hair stylist Flora from Gardini Naxos gave me my dream hair style. Overall, service and friendliness would make it so that id return again.

It’s a nice property, but it does feel like you’re getting charged for almost everything at a higher premium. Also, never heard of this before. They have an ironing room. They wouldn’t give us an iron. You have to go to the 3rd floor and iron in a room. You have to bring your close down there to iron. Also, when I got there I told the from desk I needed to arrange for a taxi to go home. I was told to wait until the day before I leave and order it from the from desk. I paid 130 euros when I get there. I go to the front desk the day before check out. Spoke with the clerk and he says I have to pay 170 EU. I asked why, they said because of the short notice. Which was the day before. Also, there is nothing around there you can walk to. In fact, we wanted to walk around but the clerk said too dangerous. You either need a car or take a taxi. It’s a beautiful property and it has a nice restaurant. For me it was kind of a pain to stay there.

I especially appreciated and applaud management for not allowing people to save chairs around the pool for the next day. We have been to other resorts where they have allowed this and in our minds, this very poor management and a disadvantage to other others who are paying equally to stay at their property. Bravo UNAHotels! You have a beautiful, well-maintained property. We would stay there again if we are afforded the opportunity to revisit gorgeous Taormina!!

Overall the hotel is beautiful with amazing views. The service is wondeful but the room can use somr sprucing up. Our toilet doesn't flush well. The restaurant onsite still charges cover for captive guests. The hotel is far from town and needs shuttle access which books up fast so advanced reservation is needed. The food is terrible onsite and overpriced.

We had a lovely stay at UNA Capotaormina. The reception was friendly and check in was easy with our room ready before the check in time. Although a bit dated the rooms are spacious and clean and the views are stunning. We deliberately chose the beach location but didn’t realise that due to the town being on a hill it’s quite impossible to walk into the town. However the hotel arrange a free shuttle (needs to be reserved) to and from the town throughout the day. The breakfast provided is sufficient, slightly limited on the hot food options. Pool area is beautiful and clean with bar service.

Gorgeous funky 60’s architecture with awesome outside spaces. Inside is a time warp needs help but the outside facilities made up for the interior. Don’t like the wasteful disposable plastic cups or paper plates for the pool area for the price. They could use melamine. We went out for meals since the food looked not so great. The hotel sits right on the water! As you walk into the hotel and your room, you might be a little disappointed in how dated the hotel is. However, it doesn’t disappoint! The location, the views, the l pool, and the access to the ocean are incredible! My frown became and instant smile. In the peak season, this place must be jammed packed with tourists! Breakfast has a nice spread and I was satisfied. Parking was extra per day. However, the free shuttle bus makes up for it. You don’t want to drive around looking for parking in the center of town and deal with the roads and busses. Make sure you know exactly when you want to head back to the hotel. If you’re before you’re scheduled pickup time and there’s no seats, you’re not getting on the bus! 6 to 8 hours in plenty to do see and eat! If you have a free half day, drive to Savoca if you’re a can of The Godfather. It’s a cute hillside town where it was partially filmed. Go early in the morning! You will thank me! Haha. The drive is not straightforward but it’s Sicily and it’s worth it! Overall, I’d stay at the hotel again! The staff was friendly and helpful. The upgraded room with and ocean and Mount Etna view was much appreciated!

Second time staying at this hotel and we weren’t disappointed coming back.
The hotel itself is somewhat dated, but the location, with the views over Etna and the fantastic pool and beach area are fantastic. The staff are friendly and helpful too…. all good!

Amazing upside down hotel

Beautiful location for a romantic stay. Amazing infinity pool carved out of the rocks and great restaurant. Pool area used in The White Lotus.
Not close to the center of town, you will need to drive or take a taxi. Not much to do in the immediate hotel area, but the property is just amazing.

This hotel gave me an incredible experience. From the moment we walked in, the staff assisted us with on-site parking, which is extremely important in Taormina. They offered a daily shuttle bus to the town, and their pool and private beach are breathtaking. We dined at the restaurant on our first night and the experience was incredible—the food was delicious and right next to the ocean. I wish I could have stayed another night. This hotel is a true experience and I strongly recommend it.

The best part of this hotel is the property. The private beach, the pool and views. The breakfast that is included is excellent and the restaurant is refined. The hotel and furnishings are a bit dated but the hotel is clean and well maintained. Only thing that’s a negative is that you really can’t walk to anything. You need to drive or take a shuttle to go anywhere.

Hotel needs renovation, all is like Hello from 70 s . Good room, but nowhere to put your clothes, very uncomfortable shower. All the rest is perfect, nice service, shuttle is a plus as taxi is 25 euro to town center. Breakfast poor

The staff was friendly. If you needed a ride to town it was there within minutes. The rooms could use some updating. The shower was difficult to use. There were a lot of small ants in the room.
