The room was very small and the bathroom had no storage or shelves for wash kits, so had to put everything on the floor. The staff was friendly, but a complaint over the lack of ventilation in the bathroom was not resolved. At the beach club, a staff member followed us to our room, claiming we had not paid the bill, even though we had paid cash. There was a train track running just behind our room, train noise was annoying. Lovely views and good access to beach.

La Plage has magnificent views of the sea and the iconic Isola Bella. The breakfast buffet is delicious and the staff are friendly and attentive. Be aware that the beach is rocky and hard to walk on and it’s difficult to enter and exit the sea for a swim. It’s easy to get up to Taormina via the funivia (cable car) for a 10€ round trip.

hotel. Noway hotel is close to 5 or 4 stars,
The rooms are very small, bathroom is extremely small and very bad technical condition, in need in total refurbishment!
Breakfast par to Pension quality,
Restaurant, wouldn’t dare to try, but looks very degrading! All furniture old, overused.
Staff, being good people, but luck even minimum good hotels or restaurants experience. Front desk really need basic training.

TOP NOTCH beach resort at Isola Bella

I can’t say enough about this resort. Incredible location and wonderful hospitality with impeccable service from every level of contact. The the private bungalow was clean and had a comfortable bed. Our bungalow has it’s own private patio with jacuzzi that overlooked the sea. Just incredible. Very relaxing and enjoyable to experience the uniqueness of that with the moon over the bay of Isola Bella as our companion. While the day is lively with energy and guests enjoying the beach, the evenings are quiet and peaceful there where you can hear the lapping of sea on the shore. The beach is like a dream. You never tire of admiring the view of Isola Bella. The water is so clear. Bring your water shoes for the stone beach. The beach attendants and servers were so friendly and accommodating. The food was delicious from the variety and quality at breakfast to the beach club to the restaurants. We enjoyed lunches and dinners there several times and the fresh fish and high quality was truly impressive. We were there for our anniversary and it could not be more romantic and special place to celebrate. The event space they have to host weddings and parties is so beautiful and we were there to see a few a wedding, a baptism and birthday- each unique and beautiful. Amazing location. We have been to Taormina many times and there are many wonderful places to stay however this beach location, the high level service at every point of contact make the La Plage resort one you should not miss!

This was the most wonderful resort my husband and I have ever stayed at. The staff was incredible, the hotel is gorgeous and the property is unlike anything in the world. Isola Bella was swimmable! We never stay anywhere twice, but are making an expectation here. We cannot wait to stay again!

From the moment we arrived at La Plage Resort, we were swept away by the beauty, charm, and warmth of this incredible destination. Nestled right by the iconic Isola Bella, (which certainly lives up to its name) the views from the resort are nothing short of spectacular—crystal-clear waters, lush greenery, and sunsets that take your breath away.

What truly made our experience unforgettable, though, was the outstanding service provided by the incredible team. Alessia greeted us with the warmest welcome, making us feel instantly at home. Pasquale was the definition of professionalism and friendliness—always ready with a smile and a great local recommendation. Diego’s attention to detail and dedication to making every moment perfect didn’t go unnoticed. And Lorenzo went above and beyond to ensure our stay was smooth, relaxed, and filled with joy. I must give a shoutout to the housekeeping staff who kept our room immaculate and cleaned twice a day. While the view is nothing short of magic, what makes La Plage the place to be is the people. By the end of our stay, we felt like family.

Just what we were looking for...

Our experience as a couple staying for 8 nights in a room with a hot-tub on our terrace was amazing. We wanted to relax and unwind and La Plage made it happen. The location was ideal on the beautiful beach and just a short walk to the funivia to go up to the town. Our room was very comfortable with views out to the bay and the island. We enjoyed using our reserved beach setting each day. Breakfast was delicious each morning with variety in the pastries and fresh fruit on offer in addition to the hot food. The beach bar was great for cocktails and great music. The restaurant provided wonderful service in a relaxed atmosphere, and the food was fabulous!! They catered for food intolerance with wonderful grace and were proud to create a special sauce that was absolutely delicious!! Special thanks to the restaurant staff, to Alessandro Sebastiano and Sara who made breakfast such a pleasure each day, and to Roberta who was the first person to greet us and went out of her way to ensure our stay was superb! We had a very relaxing stay in a very beautiful setting supported by staff who were professional as well as friendly.

Lovely staff, amazing view from the restaurant, excellent location. Only stayed for the night in one of the small ‘cottages’ on-site so can’t speak for the facilities (apart from breakfast, which was decent). The room was very claustrophobic, incredibly cramped, with a window that looked out onto a dirty and peeling plaster wall and admitted hardly any daylight. The cottage was dingy and unloved, the small ‘garden’ unswept and grubby and pretty unpleasant. I dropped my towel on the bathroom floor and it came up filthy. Relieved we only stayed briefly for the one night tbh. Advertised (and charged) as five star, would say low four star at best. With the location and staff, could be wonderful with some $$ investment and a complete overhaul - but as it stands, difficult to recommend.

Amazing location, clean spacious rooms, staff are so courteous, friendly and really make the stay special. Buffet breakfast really good, free parking was a huge bonus.

Sunbed included for guests which is really necessary to enjoy the beach (typically 60-80euros for externals).

It is not super easy to get to the main town so need to take a taxi (20-25 euros) or cable car (10euros per person for return trip).

The hotel and staff were absolutely incredible. You’re literally a few steps from your room to isola bella and a comfortable beach chair at their beach club, the parking was super accessible, and you get greeted at the door with the most delicious glass of almond milk you’ll ever have in your life. We LOVED everything about this property. It is stunning. Beachfront. Convenient. And the staff is the BEST. Everyone from the front desk to the beach club to the restaurant. So nice, fun, helpful, and a true pleasure. We stayed in a garden room which was a stand alone round structure. Perfectly appointed. Big bathroom, great linens and strong AC to keep it cool during hot days. The beach club was our favorite amenity. Not only is it beautiful, but lounge chairs and an umbrella and towels were included with your room. Which is great because they go for $100 euro to the public. The beach club staff was amazing as were the cocktails and lunches. The property is close enough by taxi ($20 euro) to either side of Taormina town center. We would absolutely stay at La Plage Resort again!

We like being on the beach, although it is stoney the sunbeds are comfortable and the guys who allocate them are very helpful and friendly. It is in a good location for us as we prefer being on the beach and not in Taormina town which is very crowded, although we do like to go into the town in the evenings. The life is close by and easily accessible. The beach club food is very good and the service at the hotel is excellent. We couldn't ask for more. We enjoyed a very restful few days

The SPOT to be in Taormina

This place is a so great. The location is on the beach and you get chairs and umbrella on the the beach daily, which is great because can get crowded on the beach. The beach chair guys Hamza, Simone, Mattia are excellent, always looking to help out for any needs. The drinks and food service on the beach is excellent. They work so hard to get food and drink to everyone. Really nice people. Lost my tshirt one day and (Francesco found it a saved it for me.)

Breakfast in the morning was so great. Excellent selection, great coffee, fresh fruit, everything you could want. The staff there are super kind.

Front Desk is top notch. The answer \"no\" is not in their vocabulary. The make sure to help in every way possible. Front desk are all great but special thanks to Pasquale who helped make our last day extremely comfortable. Good guy.

The room cleaners are fantastic and come twice a day. Seemed like the room was redone every time I left it!

It is very close to the cable car, about 5min walk( longer for old timers due to some stairs). I read some complaints about traffic noise and the train. Not sure, really inconsequential. Never noticed it and we stayed for 3 weeks.

This place is great and the best place to stay in Taormina since you are essentially on the beach and when done with the beach, back to the room, shower up and head off to the cable car and on Corso Umberto in a jiffy!

Beautiful medium-small resort directly in front of the beautiful Isola Bella. A gem of a location, and staff that could not do more to please.

Only consideration is the sound proofing between rooms (probably not an issue for bungalows) - we could hear every word our next door neighbours said.

If you want to find out what really happened on that Island at the end of 'White Lotus', Season 2, this is the place to do it!

I was under the impression that i booked a larger room and the woman at the hotel insisted I booked the wrong one as opposed to falsely advertising it. Limited amenities, no store in resort or nearby, delicious food but options are very limited and not great for picky kids.

The hotel grounds are beautiful. However the bungalow we stayed in was so small my sister and I couldn’t even open our suitcases fully. I felt claustrophobic in the room and thankfully we were only there for one night. In my opinion since the bungalows are extremely small bigger windows or light would help. The front desk service is just OK, should be better for a hotel on that level. I asked for hypo allergenic pillows and out of the whole hotel they only had one. They also do not have anyone working at the entrance of the hotel and it can get a bit confusing when you check out and in. The beach is fabulous. Also the staff at the pool bar and restaurant were wonderful.

We booked the bungalows by the beach, but found them dark and small, and packed together. Were put in a 'suite' which was one room with a bed and a shower ensuite. It had a good view of the beach if you went to the back of the little patio. Service was good, food good, cleanliness good, although changing bed linin and towels every day wasnt eco friendly. Location for the beach was excellent and only 5 mins walk to the cable car to taormina which goes every 15 mins til 1am. While it was good, considering it was the end of the season and having stayed in hundreds of hotels, it was very over priced. For the money i would have expected dinner to be included

Firstly it was teeny tiny rooms . You literally had a curtain as a closet door. There was a wedding going on every single evening next to our cottages . The music stopped when the wedding parties stopped. If they had wanted to be fair they should’ve told us before we paid for the outrageously priced cottages. It was such a nuisance and ruined our holiday

We love the staff. They are the nicest people and willing to help in any way. The only issue we had was breakfast time there were many flies by the fruit area and the utensils we received were not cleaned very well. The glassware also seemed that there was some soap left in it when we poured water.

Otherwise though, a wonderful place to visit.

Property is beautiful and well kept. Their customer service is outstanding. The rooms are clean and well-equipped. The only thing that caught us off guard was the afternoon cleaning service (yes, they come clean your room twice a day), but who doesn't want their rooms cleaned twice a day? :)

The breakfast was delicious and the beach was beautiful. The food we ate at their restaurant was delightful and the drinks we bought at their beach bar were exquisite. Overall, a great experience which we definitely recommend to anyone traveling to Taormina.

There were many tourists that weren’t staying in the hotel that were in and around the beach and facilities. It wasn’t a major issue but it did feel less intimate than the hotel might suggest. The food was all delicious (beach bar, restaurant and particularly breakfast). The room was clean. I personally found the bed hard (you can never please everyone on that score though) and there was bird poo on the outside patio that was never cleaned away.

After staying in the town of Taormina, moving to the La Plage was a let down. There is no where to go down by the ocean.

The bungalow rooms were small and had NO in room view of the ocean that was a few feet away!

The Wi-Fi was on the old system of needing to re-enter name and password about 10 times a day.

We chose this hotel as our main stop of our honeymoon through Sicily. We stayed 4 nights and absolutely loved the beach (Google Isola Bella), and dinners in Taormina. Our room was directly on the beach with a deck and a whirlpool. Let me cut to the chase and answer the question of whether or not the hotel is worth its high prices:
+ Exclusivity! It is the only hotel directly located on this particular stretch of beach; most tourists have to make the trek down from their hotels to spend the day there – provided they actually find room (see below)
+ every hotel guest has guaranteed access to beach chairs and umbrellas
+ the hotel has a designated area reserved only for hotel guests on what is otherwise a public beach
+ the breakfast is fantastic and the view cannot be topped
- hotel rooms (we did not stay in one of the bungalows!) are very clean and modern, albeit a bit small, but walls are too thin. Pray for respectful neighbors.
- Italian law does not permit the hotel to close off their 'private' beach. Be prepared for a lot of vendors ('Massagi?') bothering you at least twice every hour
- Beach bar completely overpriced

Try to avoid staying at this resort on weekends as it frequently hosts weddings and other events. If you like to go to bed early (before midnight in my case), be prepared to get woken up.

Superb hotel.

La Plage resort has excellent waterfront dining at the beach bar and the more upscale restaurant, a sumptuous breakfast and of course prime access to the beach and Isola Bella.

We found the staff to be very helpful and gracious at every part of the hotel. The one issue was the mosquitos in the rooms. I am sure this can be addressed.

Beautiful hotel on the beach

Great location on the beach and lovely restaurant with delicious food (although not cheap). The rooms are small but done well and the bathroom is big. We had a room with a jet tub which we loved. Would definitely recommend.

We only stayed one night but they upgraded us from a garden view to a sea view room. The staff couldnt have been more helpful , the room was lovely with its own private garden, jacuzzi with a view onto the bay. What a find!

Great hotel, great service, great beachfront position - BUT - they do not tell you there is a train line 5m away and there are more than 130 steps from hotel level up to the street and down again. still managed to have a great stay

Good location to the beach.

It is next to the beach at Isola Bella and some water sports can be rented in the beach. It's also within walking distance to the cable car to goto Taormina Central where all the restaurants and shops are found. We had a bungalow with a patio facing the beach and it was nice.

Great location and fantastic views. Garden pods (bedrooms) quite small and the train runs very close early in the morning. Good breakfast and friendly staff.

Lovely hotel opposite Isola Bella.

We enjoyed our short stay in Taormina. Whilst the Superior double room was quite small, it was very clean and comfortable with lovely sea view from the small balcony. Unfortunately the room seemed to be above the rubbish store which was extremely smelly everytime we walked passed. Luckily the room was smell free! Staff were very helpful and friendly. The beach was beautiful but hard to walk on without beach shoes as very pebbly and no sand. We loved being on the beach side and then catching the nearby cable car to the town in the evenings. There was no pool which somehow I had missed which was a disappointment. Breakfast was a huge feast something for everyone. W

Not a five star hotel

Small rooms, no tea/coffee facilities, no pool. Tiny gym. Small pebble/stone beach with sun loungers packed too close and walkway right behind that non-hotek guests use (ie constant flow of people from cruise ships). Train runs directly above the hotel. Very expensive charge for late check out. Most staff very friendly though.

Lovely and extremely helpful reception staff. Had a different experience with the service staff. Were totally ignored the first morning we went for breakfast, quite annoying. They looked overall quite desorganised. Lovely view, but they were rebuilding the bar area in May! The room was nice but small with a massive bathroom. Ideal in the summer when you can leave outside. We had rain! Also everything has to be paid for ... May be even the remote control we never found! Use ear plugs if you have a light sleep as the train is just above your head! But it is the best location to iso bella.

Excellent location on a lovely beach\n

We spent ten nights at La Plage in September 2015.

The rooms are comfortable and clean with very decent sized beds. The bungalows look especially sizeable with small private gardens.

The breakfast is plentiful and in a lovely setting. Perhaps a few more parasols are needed as it can be quite hot first thing in the morning. The staff at breakfast are friendly and the service is prompt.

The beach itself is beautiful and the warm crystal clear and clean. The hotel is very close to the nature reserve of Isola Bella.
There is also decent scuba diving with the Nike diving centre. The staff at Nike are very friendly and professional indeed and speak French , English and Spanish.

The beach staff are helpful , but the music at the beach bar could be a little quieter.

The spa appears to be run separately from the hotel and is small , with only a small jacuzzi and steam room which were not hot. The remainder is a treatment room.

Perfect getaway

This was a wonderful, restful, peaceful, but still fun and interesting holiday spot. It was really blissful and perfect for our lovely holiday. There is a great cable car into the magical tint Italian township, the beach bar is great with good eating options next door and along the beach - and the beach set up is perfect. The wifi is unreliable, but in truth, made for a much more relaxing holiday for us. The hotel service is wonderful, very caring and discreet.

My room was located in the worst location. Laundry, kitchen, garbage area with a stench. Plus it had a room above which was very noisy. The pillows were awful and they didn't have any other type. on a positive note. The beach is nice. A bit tight with a public area to the left. The beach is rocky so be aware. Staff was for the most part very helpful and nice. I might try some thing else next time but I would go back with a different room and would bring my own pillow if I didn't want to stay up in the city. Great breakfast. Also it appears that the hotel is elevated I top of a hill but it is not. It's down on he beach

Amazing location with outstanding views.

This hotel is beautifully laid out with amazing views of Isola Bella. You couldn't get any closer to it. We stayed in a room with a beach view and jacuzzi which was fantastic. We were welcomed warmly by staff at the entrance and offered a glass of prosecco, just what we needed to start our holiday and we found all staff to be friendly and helpful though out our stay. We would definitely recommend this hotel and look forward to returning again soon.
