We booked a balcony with a garden view. We got a view of the fire escape and an old terrible brick wall.
We were above the kitchen with lots of noise.
The Taormina Park hotel said it was our providers fault

The hotel is dated but not in a good way. The rooms and overall inside of the hotel need a generous renovation and it seems like it has not been well maintained. Peeling wallpaper, water damaged walls, broken shower heads, broken staircase railings zip tied together, etc. The only thing 4 stars about the place is the location, view and exterior facade.

Balconies over the pool and looking out to sea are wonderful. Breakfast excellent. Car hire very close by made the difficult roads manageable. Very pleasant to walk along into the shops and restaurants. The Trevelyan Park opposite is a main attraction.

The breathtaking view of Taormina & the majestic Mt Etna from the large balcony are what made our stay unique and enjoyable. The hotel was as expected, old school iconic italian decor but it does need some new life as the rooms are VERY tired but it’s clean and comfortable for our family of 4, and again that VIEW does it all! Besides the reception staff, the wait staff and housekeeping staff were divine and so friendly. Value for money, I’m sure a hotel update would double/triple the rate.

This hotel could be grear but needs some tlc/renovation. Plus points are its well located, has a nice pool and good breakfast. Negatives are it is an older hotel that needs some upkeep, all the electrical sockets are loose/potentially dangerous.
The biggest issue was an extremely noisy fridge in the room that kept me awake and you couldnt turn it off as the electrical lead went into the wall not a socket in the room!!!

To start, the property is dated and that much is apparent from the photos so this review is on the basis that the dated decor and slightly out of dated facilities is already known.
The pros - the view is unbelievable, of the town and Mount Etna on one side and the bay on the other. The position is also excellent, being opposite the Florence Trevelyn park (which adds to the view). The staff are very friendly especially the barman and cleaners. The bar is good as is the light lunch. The pool area is lovely, well kept and well decorated with plants. The building itself is beautiful, and in some ways the dated decor adds to the charm (the breakfast room is like a 1920s ballroom).
The cons - the air conditioning is old, loud and not terribly effective. We were there in early September and it was fine, but in the height of summer it might be quite uncomfortable. The breakfast is fine, but the coffee is disappointing by Italian standards, being from a machine (the coffee at the pool bar is great though).

Overall excellent for the price.

Property is not new but very beautiful with traditions. Views from our room ( on the 4th floor )were incredible. Rooms, toilets very clean, breakfast very good as well. Staff helpful. Thank you for very good time spent there. We will be happy to come back here again .

The hotel is in a great location but is outdated and in desperate need of renovation. Getting to the hotel was a nightmare with the narrow streets and tourists everywhere. The staff was very nice and helpful though. After reaching the hotel and the tiny parking lot the staff was nice enough to move our car as it was impossible to handle. Overall a good experience and just for the location alone will come back but probably without a car.

Beautiful building.

Rooms are quite dated. The shower had no seal and flooded the bathroom each time used; thankfully the additional toilets on the same floor were only a doorstep away and had excellent shower facilities in there, so we used these instead of the room; wasnt ideal but meant the bathroom wasnt flooded each time had a shower and reduced the damp smell that occurs as a result.

Reception staff friendly but would attend to you on their time; no complaints but you wouldnt want to be in a hurry.

Breakfast was ok, a fair selection but these ran out frequently and was quite a delay in replenishment, again, no complaints but you wouldnt want to be in a hurry.

The pool area is lovely and the bar staff always helpful.

Parking is expensive at 18 Euros a day; I only visited Lake Garda a month previously and paid 5 Euros a day in a much more secure and spacious car park.

Overall, it is a beautiful hotel in a fantastic location with excellent views. We had a lovely stay, but would have preferred to have a shower in the room rather than the landing toilets.

I think we were a few weeks too early as swimming pool was closed and under repair. If it had been open and the weather was warmer I think the experience would be hugely different. The pool bar looked good but closed
Breakfast was a very dull experience indeed and not worth paying for when restaurants in town are excellent

i don't recommend this hotel because they were very impatient and unfriendly and rude and unhelpful. They would look at me like I am stupid when I didn't know something about this area that i had never been to before. I had to go up 3 flights of stairs with my luggage with no help. i asked if a very old woman came, could someone help her with luggage. The answer was that she should take the elevator up. In other words, no one wants to help you. Parking is horrible. Very tight so they hold your keys. The woman actually gave me someone elses keys by accident. i was so frantic wondering why my car wouldn't open!!! and then she hit a construction fence moving someone else's car. Breakfast was nothing special. The croissants were horrible.

Solid hotel in Taormina for the value

Decent hotel and room, but probably not the equivalent of four stars of what I am used to in other countries. Air conditioner in bathroom was leaking on arrival, and walls were peeling. Everything is very old. On the flip side, it’s a great location and the view from the balcony was breathtaking. If you don’t care to have a modern room and might be able to put up with a few flaws here and there, it’s not a bad choice. Also, breakfast is included and pretty good as well.

This hotel started with a 5* rating based on the phenomenal balcony with a view that is permanently etched in my mind. The spacious washroom with double sink, bidet, large counter and very spacious room was appreciated as well as the hotels proximity to town centre. Pool area looked nice but we did not use it.
The air conditioning and blackout power blinds worked well, bed was comfortable. Where it fell short compared to other hotels on this vacation was; bad pillows, small TV, no magnifying mirror, no coffee machine, no complimentary water bottles, no tissues. On arrival the maintenance man told us the phone lines were not working so we had no phone in the room for 3 nights which is an emergency issue. The front desk didn't advise us on check-in, nor did they seem to know anything about this. Breakfast was below average for a European hotel and would benefit from better presentation, more selection and better coffee machines --the coffee was the worst i've had anywhere in Europe. Because of the view, I do not regret staying here but there is definitely room for improvement.

Excellent property and staff with one exception. The lady at the desk on the morning I was leaving denied my request for a late check out of 45 minutes. Instead she approved 40 minutes. She lost my satisfaction over 15 minutes in the month of March. Not good customer service from her. All other staff at the bar and the breakfast room were great.

The hotel is in a perfect location, opposite the beautiful park and an easy walk to bars and restaurants. Gorgeous pool area with plenty of beds which never got too busy. The staff at the pool bar were helpful and friendly as were reception staff. Lovely breakfast served by the pool each day. Our room and bathroom on the 4th floor were big and well equipped and the view from the huge terrace was amazing!! Cannot fault Taormina Park and can’t wait to come back!

DON'T PROMISE WHAT YOU CAN'T DELIVER

There is NO PARKING!! If a hotel is going to boast it has parking it needs to deliver especially in a place like Taormina. Half a dozen full spaces does not constitute a proper car park. Given terrible directions for finding a space ten minutes away ending with driving right the way around Taormina (NOT RECOMMENDED) to then be given a map when we got back to where we started!!! Yes. Go figure that yourself. Oh and it cost more. Other than that place is Ok. Nothing special.

Bad start but overall enjoyed the stay!

We specifically booked a double room with a balcony and on arrival we were put into quite a dark and dingy room with no balcony, they assured us we would be ‘upgraded’ the following day (to the room we had actually paid for), there wasn’t an apology once for their mistake. We were left waiting all day the next day to move room, they keys saying in an hour, and it wasn’t till 4pm we finally moved. This aside, the room we eventually got was good, nice pool area and cool rustic feel. It did the job but if you want a more luxurious pool bar etc there may be better options - but all in all it’s a great setting and we had a good stay, despite the initial frustration.

We booked this hotel as it offered parking, and so requested this in the reservation. Upon arrival, receptionist just indicated parking was full and suggested a parking “100+” meters away (actually 500+ !). Building needs civil maintenance, specially balconies look deteriorated ( May be unsafe?).
Good point is its location , 6 min walking from greek temple and close to restaurants and bar. Breakfast was good and great views from the rooms.

and we'll maintainedd. One of the rooms we were given did not have functioning air conditioning. An easy change was afforded. The staff to a person were pleasant and helpful. The property is located centrally. Because of location, would not recommend using an automobile. The street is narrow and sometimes impassable because of foot and auto traffic.

To be honest we weren’t expecting this to be an outstanding hotel - afterall the pictures showed that the property had seen better days. On balance we were most pleased with the hotel’s location - so close to everything Taormina has to offer. The pool area was great too.

The hotel’s decor was probably worse than we were expecting but what let the hotel down most were the completely non attentive staff - most of whom couldn’t manage eye contact, were hidden behind their reception screens or all busy doing administrative work. The breakfast room was consistently under staffed however so this probably explained the mood.

The two beacons of good customer service and good humour were with the gentlemen who sorted the car parking out and the very helpful lady who cleared the breakfast room tables.

Fantastic views from room and the balcony. Great location - steps to the Giardini and to Teatro Greco and short walk to great restaurants and granite bars. Breakfast included on the terrace overlooking the bay and Mt Etna in the distance. Self serve eggs, bacon, sliced bread, buns, cold cuts, cream cheese, yogurt, fruit . Family of four - we loved our stay in Taormina!

The only good thing is LOCATION. Every thing else is terrible. Staff were rude & aggressive. Cockroaches in the room and corridor ( can provide photos). No air condition. No working phone in the room so you can’t contact reception for orders or complaints. The only hotel I ever seen serving COLD fried eggs. The fruit was mouldy. The only toiletries were one miniature tube for body & hair and on occasions was not provided and you have to ask for it. Toilet tissues can be missed and again you have to ask for it. The problem is when you don’t have phone in the room you have to dress and go to reception where you are ignored for long time. Every thing was hassle and you have to beg for it. The room decorations were very old and crumbling. The so called spa is room in the corridor where there is no changing area and over looked by busy reception area. Car park is a void that was occupied by building material and other small scratched cars so we had to park 10 minutes walk away and roll our bags in a hilly blazing streets. This hotel may had seen better days in the past but no way more than 2* hotel.

Disgusting breakfast in an otherwise decent hotel

We were served rotting fruit (pics on tripadvisor.com, hotels.com won't let me upload pics), watery stale coffee, tin-foil-wrapped soft processed cheese and cold fried eggs. Everything was of the worst possible quality, stale and inedible. Felt very disrespected. It would have been much less offensive had they not offered breakfast at all (and i would have rated them more highly). Made me wonder how much they value their guests.
Room was decent--large comfortable bed and clean. Our sea-view room offered an amazing view of Etna. Hotel is in a good location--short walk from town but far enough to be calm and quiet, also close to airport bus stop. Staff was friendly enough and even the aging interiors had a bit of charm, but please don't disrespect your guests like this.

Bad experience with over priced rates

When we arrived, the receptionist did not notice us until we said hi to her. In our room we noticed that one of the drawer was full of clothes and we informed the receptionist. She said that they must be former guests, they are in another room now. The guests that she mentioned came to our room to check the staff if they were theirs or not in the middle of the night. And they were not :(so the staff was in our room during our stay. There were so mamy warnings notes in the hotel such as;
- do not waste water
- do not enter the restaurant with big ba
- eat but do not take the food out with you
They make you feel like thief.

We truly enjoyed our stay at the Taormina Park Hotel. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful in making recommendations for local places to eat and visit. The breakfast was fresh and delicious except for the coffee. Our view of the city, Mt Etna and the water was breath taking. It was challenging to find the place but once there it is a relatively short walk to the shopping area and restaurants. We would definitely stay there again.

This is the best hotel we've ever stayed at! The views and setting are stupendous. The hotel, inside and out, is beautiful in the old style.
It's handy for the centre, but very quiet. The pool is immaculate.
the staff can't do enough for you.
Our room was reasonably priced and lovely, a very unusual combination in this town.
The only niggle is that the tiled floors and thin walls do conduct sound, so if neighbours are noisy at night, you heat it.
But that's a small point. The breakfasts were sumptuous.
We absolutely loved the Taormina Park hotel and can't rate it highly enough.

Nice hotel within walking distance of town

The hotel is nice. As is typical of many old hotels it is dated but the rooms were a good size with a massive, very comfortable, bed. We had paid for a room with a view and had a small balcony (room for 2 chairs and a table), overlooking the sea and Mount Etna. The view was amazing and it was wonderful watching the antics of Mount Etna puffing smoke as well as the coming and going of various cruise ships and super yachts in the bay far below. The bathroom was dated and could do with a re-fit but all in all room was lovely.
We only had breakfast which was a bit hit and miss. There was the usual cereals, cold meats, croissants, fried eggs etc. The waitress was lovely but another waiter was downright rude (although we believe he was reprimanded about this as he improved during our stay). Don't expect nice freshly baked croissants or bread. It all appeared as it it was pre packed off a supermarket shelf. On one day the tinned fruit was fermenting! Made us slightly wary of the age of the hard boiled eggs etc.
We don't know what other meals the hotel provided as with 220+ restaurants within walking distance in Taormina we preferred to try these.
There is parking for an extra €15 a day. The car park areas were small and sometimes your car had to be moved by management to allow another car out. Slightly nerve wracking considering the insurance excess if damage occurred on our hire car, but all went well.
All in all a nice hotel in fantastic setting.

Nice hotel unfriendly staff

Staff werent very friendly or engaging. We were going our to dinner one night asked for an iron waited 2 hours went down to reception to be told they couldnt find it but we were never advised. Breakfast staff seemed to be very unhappy with there career choice

Great location for visiting Taormina

Lovely views, the property is nice and quaint. Very close to the Main Street of Taormina, very convenient for shopping, eating and sightseeing. The town’s public park is just across the street. Very good location.

Maybe we got lucky with our room (302), as I've seen some reviews about small rooms and the like. Ours was probably the biggest we've stayed in this year. It was a classic with garden view, but on the end, so great view of taormina castle and Etna. Could just about see the sea, but wouldn't have swapped for a sea view. Decent view of sunset.
Pool area was nice, though the shades on the green loungers don't work. Hot tub was cold.
Breakfast had a good variety, although the toaster is useless. Never had dinner - you need to book before 5. rarely saw people eating in the evening, but loads of choices in town.
Close to town centre, good local shops, cable car, bus station too.
Would go back, but probably on condition of getting the same room.

The Taormina Park Hotel is in a great location, easy walk to the main piazzas , good restaurants and the funicular.. lovely views from the Seaview rooms. The rooms are comfortable, clean and well equipped. Lovely pool and poolside facilities

Quite hotel, not quite a four star.

Beautiful hotel from the outside, lovely pool, within easy walk from the town and park across the road. We had a 3rd floor room with two balconies and views of the sea and mount Etna. The rooms are a little tired with wood panelling stuck on with expanding foam, some of the architrave was missing around the bathroom door, although clean with mini fridge and hairdryer, no tea making facilities, which is usual in Italian hotels. Pool towels are provided. Typical Italian breakfast - mostly cake! There are not enough staff at breakfast, and I felt sorry for the one person on duty, clearing-up, setting places and cooking eggs! Don't expect to book trips here easily, as the staff are not too helpful. The bus station is within 10 min walk, and you can get cheap buses to most places that expensive trips go. Well placed for the town, bus station, cable car to the beach. Nice hotel, but not four star, more like 3.

Drinks are expensive at restaurants 40cl beer and 125cl wine 6 euros. Alcohol in shops is expensive too, cheapest bottle of Italian red wine or Prosecco was 12 euros a bottle. Excursions are really expensive too. Best for just relaxing by the pool.

This hotel is operating on a shoe string. Grossly understaffed and structurally run down. It has the look of going bankrupt. Our air con didn't work from Day 1. After 24 hours of continuous vomplain
