The hotel is beautiful - very midern with clean lines and lots of glass. Very clean facility overall as well as the room. The breakfast buffet was excellent and included standard European fare as well as American classics - American coffee as well as espresso and cappuchino were provided by self-service machines.

DATED is an understatement. This hotel still has beds from the 70s, furniture from the 60's and not worth the $$. Staff is great. But be warned, you are about to sleep on a bed of bricks wondering why you ended up here. They rest their laurels on the views.

Great location in the heart of Taormina. Nice pool. Place needs a facelift. Staff was nice not great. They have a strict towel policy where you can’t leave the property with their towels - we had a boat trip and needed to bring towels so had to buy from a store.

This room was a great size and the separate shower/ toilet to sink area and large wardrobe room was great when you have four people sharing. The room had plenty of space and the balcony and seabird were great. We found the breakfast quality to be good and varied and loved the pool ( big enough to swim in properly and not too busy). Yes the hotel is down or up a steep drive depending which way you approach and driving through Taormina isn’t easy ( narrow streets and people everywhere) but the town is beautiful and the hotel was in a great location - easy walk to restaurants. We did a road trip around Sicily and this was one of our favourites in terms of location, room, view, food and pool.

Beautiful Views and really good service. Sure, maybe there is room for upgrades but I liked the retro feel. I would return for the pool and the view. It's walking distance to so many wonderful things. Yes, you do need to be able to walk up a hill to get to the town but it wasn't a bother for us but something to note if walking is difficult for some.

The location is perfect to explore Taormina with shops, restaurants and tourist attractions within a few minutes walk. The hotel itself is unique built into the cliff and the views are breathtaking. The pool is clean is spacious and always had sun loungers available. Our room was fairly basic but it was extremely clean! The front desk could be a little bit more friendly, but overall the staff across the hotel were fine. Be aware that the hotel does not offer an iron or ironing board, which was pretty inconvenient. Overall, I’d highly recommend this hotel due to its location in Taormina.

We loved this place! Parking is valet-only, but by the time you arrive by steep switchbacks you’ll be grateful to handover the keys. Staff was wonderful, the views spectacular, breakfast exceptional, and walking distance to all of the coolest restaurants and landmarks. We’ll definitely be back!

I recently stayed at this beautiful place and was blown away by the amazing customer service. The staff were always willing to help and went above and beyond to ensure a pleasant stay. The surroundings are stunning, making it a perfect getaway. However, the rooms are a bit outdated and could use some renovations. Also, be sure to bring your own iron as the facility does not provide one. Despite these minor inconveniences, I highly recommend this place for its excellent service and breathtaking location.

I loved the space. I had one poor encounter with a staff member. I lost a credit card and asked them politely to check for it. They were very unhelpful, but refused to even check. Obviously whilst traveling it is crucial to have a credit card. I made a reasonable request and the staff member was very rude and slightly aggressive. I loved all of the other staff members. Everyone else was very helpful and the space was lovely!

Lovely hotel overall. Very clean but it is starting to look a little run down. Room was nice and spacious but outdated. Whole place needs a bit of a refresh but all-in-all it fits with the Sicilian style. A little annoying there is only one lift for the entire hotel, but not the end of the world. Breakfast was overall good, however, the hot food options didn’t taste great! Main attraction is its location!! Cannot fault where the hotel is. Perfect for walking distance. Reception staff all very lovely and helpful.

We had a magical week at the Eurostar Monte Tauro hotel. The location and views are spectacular. The pool fantastic. But the best part was the staff - specifically Giovanni who was so patient and kind helping us navigate to the hotel when we arrived in Taormina. He went above and beyond. This hotel is very clean and does follow strict covid 19 guidelines. The rooms are ok but the bed in our room was two singles to make a double. not nice as you have a ridge in the middle.
when we booked the hotel the information was not clear about facility's being shut. like the pool and the pool area for sun bathing, the restaurant and bar where also shut.
Had we known this we would of booked elsewhere.
The hotel is located centrally to Taormina which is a beautiful historic city. there's plenty of bars and restaurants open to but some can be pricey

Loved the stunning views, lovely rooms and entire grounds. Didn’t like the steep hill that you must walk to get to the town. There should be a golf cart shuttle. The elevator is the slowest I’ve ever seen. The restaurant didn’t have consistent hours so we couldn’t eat there. The hotel said it would be 10 Euros to take taxi to Bus station but we were charged 15 euros by the driver. Fantastic location by the park and in town.

Great hotel...second time here and very central for Corso Umberto...although you'll be fitter when you leave as you need to climb a long slope out of the hotel! Fabulous architecture, modernist concrete, so do go here expecting typical Sicilian style. The rooms are a good size, the views are SPECTACULAR! Breakfast is great with a good choice. The pool area is great and we had no problem getting a good spot even after a lie in (last week August). Pool guy is very sweet and can't do enough to help. Would definitely recommend!

This hotel is absolutely amazing. The views from the rooms and pool is exceptional. The staff (especially the staff at the pool) were the nicest and treated us so well. We visited in August and the pool got very busy so best to get to the pool early. The front desk staff were so helpful and even held our keys while we went out into town so we didn't have to carry them. The breakfast in the morning was amazing, so much variety. Highly recommend you book with the breakfast deal. our balcony in our room was private and spacious. 10/10, highly recommend this hotel for a visit in Taormina.

Difficult parking

Not easy to drive “down” to the hotel entrance. The parking is not on property but other places nearby with opening time limitation. The 24-hour parking suggested by the hotel needs a bit of walk like 10-15 mins

Beautful hotel. BUT you should explain that there is a steep stairway to and from the entrance. They balked when we asked for help with the luggage. The breakfast was overpriced. Had to boil my own eggs. I booked 2 rooms in February and she would not give us rooms next to each other. We asked for separate beds and they would not accommodate.

Gorgeous Ocean View - Taormina Hotel

Eurostars Monte Tauro is perfectly located steps away from the main shopping area. The staff was nice and even helped us coordinate our trip to Mt. Etna.

The ocean view was breathtaking! Certainly, worth paying a little extra, as waking up to the view makes you forget all your problems.

The pool was really nice and they have an excellent pool attendant. He was so nice and accommodating.

We recommend this hotel as it was a fair price for a luxurious feel.

This hotel is spectacular! The views are simply amazing. While I travelled with a handicapped aunt, the staff went out of their way to drive her up to the street level and accommodate our needs...it was perfect. The rooms are spacious, the views stunning, very clean and the staff went beyond the call of duty to make this a memorable stay for us and our family/friends. The front desk made great suggestions for dinner locations which always exceeded expectations. The pool area is a dream! HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!

Fabulous hotel in a stunning location, very close to the heart of the town. The design of the hotel gave amazing views from every aspect. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was clean, comfortable and well-equipped and there was a vast array of choice for the buffet breakfast. Great pool with attentive attendant. I would definitely recommend Monte Tauro to friends and hope to return.

Impersonal and without charm

I wish I could say something more positive about the hotel, as the staff was forthcoming and courteous and the views from the room balcony could be spectacular, had they not been obstructed by a granite wall by what can only be called a sadistic architect, so you have to lean over the balcony and peer over the granite with some effort to see the amazing sea, coast line and Aetna beyond your window. I know it's privacy protection from your neighbors' balcony, but come on. I felt absolutely nothing about this hotel was individualistic, or designed with love for the guests. It was all glow and wow in the lobby, and mass tourism-cheap feel in the room. The private bathrooms are clinical, with plain tile and harsh light. The TV was tiny and barely functional. And the fact that public bathrooms in the lobby or next to the breakfast room were closed off, because it wasn't high season, left me with a bad taste. It may not be expensive fro Taormina standards, but you also won't remember your stay there beyond the nice lobby terrace.

Nice but with some issues

Rented a 'Jr. Suite (one main queen bed and a single bed for a two night stay April 20. Weather was beautiful yet their pool was closed although full of clean sparkling water. I noticed other area hotels had their pools open. That was a mark down. Although water may have been cold laying out on the deck overlooking the Med would have been very nice to do.

Next issue was the single bed. It was not a bed but more of flat wide sofa without the backrest. The issue was this 'bed' was like a slab of granite. Called front desk and they delivered and had them deliver a bed topper but was still to hard so we had to strip the soft lining out of our queen bed Duveut (sp) cover, and fold it twice to add additional softness. Bottom line my daughter did not sleep well either of the two nights. You need to know in advance EXACTLY what type of beds you will be getting in a Jr. Suite. At around $650 for two nights it was not good value. If its just a couple staying there then maybe this isn't an issue.

Parking and driving to the hotel is difficult. The hotel actually had us drive down a narrow street while straddling steps in between.
The pool was not open, which was a dissapointment. The room was large and clean. We had a wonderful balcony and view. The breakfast buffet was beautiful.
It was easy walking distance to the town.
The hotel seemed a little beat up in places, but other than that, it was a really nice hotel.

Great views in a central location

Monte Tauro is perfectly placed for central Taormina and has great views over the sea. A great breakfast buffet. Staff was very helpful. On the negative the room was unbearably warm for a comfortable sleep and we couldn't open the balcony door as the guest next door was chain smoking on his balcony and smoke would drift in to our room when the door was open. Parking was very limited, but the staff was very helpful in finding alternative parking nearby.

Perfect location a few minutes walk to the Main Street. Great for restaurants, bars and shops.
Really near the Greek theature.
Have a service to the beach that includes sun beds and drops you off and picks you up... 4 beaches to choose. La carperie was fantastic.
Staff really friendly and very helpful. Lots of tips of places to go and tours to sign up for.
Beautiful pool and surroundings great view felt like staying in a James Bond film.

The hotel was located near the center of town and within walking distance to all restaurants and shopping. The view of the sea was beautiful from the balcony and throughout the hotel. The staff were very attentive and catered to all of our needs. The only negative was the steep road onto the property. It was fine for us but it should be mentioned for anyone that has any physical limitations.

Great stay!

Very well situated hotel with beautiful views on the ocean! They have a lovely pool and there is a good variety for the breakfast. Staff very accommodating and friendly. Would highly recommend.

Beautiful location, great view

Truly a beautiful hotel. The parking entrance is somewhat scary as it is very steep. So if you are driving, you will need solid nerves to go down. The whole village is a challenge.

Loved the view, and the facilities. Would return.

we stayed for 5 days at the Eurostar monte tauro staff were very helpful with great facilities and fantastic views of the bay , we would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Very good location, very comfortable beds.

Overall a very pleasant stay. The staff were lovely - very friendly and helpful. The beds (and in particular the pillows) were the most comfortable i've ever had in a hotel. The rooms were a very good size including very large en suite bathrooms. They could probably use a lick of pain in parts and the orange tiles in the bathroom aren't necessarily how i'd choose to decorate a bathroom but that's just nitpicking. Balconies are also a very decent size with wonderful views.

Buffet breakfast has a very impressive range of foods. Definitely value for money and something for everyone.

The location is superb 5 minute walk to the main drag of Taormina (Corso Umberto). 5-10 mins stroll to the funicular station (to go down to Mazzarò).

Pool is a good size, and even though the sun beds can go fairly fast it's never overcrowded.

NB. the \"airport shuttle\" is not a free service as the labelling could suggest. It is in fact just a taxi.
