Extremely Disenchanted
This place was a let down, pics didn’t do it right and we had problems. Room was dingy, dark, and so loud at night we had to wait til 1am when the band stopped to sleep, then an hour later the AC buzzed and turned off for the rest of the night. I couldn’t get it to turn back on so it was a sleepless night. Breakfast was less than desirable, and my AC complaint was met with insinuation that we turned it off ourselves. I didn’t want to waste another precious trip night there, so we booked elsewhere and it was the best decision. We went from a basic economy experience to business class. By moving to hotel away from commercial center and decided to upgrade to avoid another smoke and mirrors booking. I can see why this place has a two night minimum when booking.

Overall this was a good stay. The service was helpful. The garden and jacuzzi were nice to have. Would recommend for people who are mostly planning to sleep in the hotel, and who want to be right in the heart of the city. The biggest downsides were that the AC in our room wasn’t very effective, and that it was quite loud at night given the central location. We were glad we read this in the reviews before we came, and brought a white noise machine. It saved the day (or night, rather).

Was surprised to be told that if we needed something, we should anticipate it and text the single staff in advance as he indicated that he wasn’t always on property. The shower was smaller than a now extinct phone booth. At check out was yold that I had to pay city tax of €15 in cash. Hot tub was luke warm, more of a bath than a jacuzzi experience.

The service was excellent. The property has amazing history- 300 year old building! Many interesting nooks and crannies. The garden area was just lovely. A great respite from Via Umberto chaos. The breakfast was abundant and good.
The two drawbacks were the noise from the busy street until midnight- but there are rooms that don’t suffer that. Ask for one.
The second was the Oder in the bathroom. Probably related to the age of the building.

We loved the charming hotel: very nice room with a huge terrace, Rahid the manager was quite attentive, nice breakfast, garden with hot tub, 2 hammocks and an outdoor eating area was very nice. Reason for the overall 4 stars was there was a nightclub close by that plays very loud music till midnight every night. Hard time sleeping till they stopped.

Comfortable room with enough space for most activities. Service depended on who was working. The main guy was excellent and always willing to help. His colleague less so. The colleague told us if he couldn't clean the room at exactly a certain tiime, he wouldn't clean the room. As we were on an international call to Japan, the timiing didn't work with his schedule, so our room wasn't cleaned that day.

This b b was located directly off corso umberto with quick access to all that taormina offers. The breakfast was full and delicious. They do a turn down service daily so if theres something you dont want disturbed i suggest you put it in your luggage.

Just make sure you know parking is difficult, the manger explained after but still didn’t understand till we arrived how difficult and you need to make sure you don’t miss the parking structure because it take 15-20 minutes to get around the town

If you want a gem of a place. Just a really nice place to rest and enjoy the town. This is it. The staff is wonderful. Very clean. And just really nice. It is my favorite place in Taormina. I found it last year and will not stay anywhere else.

We had the best stay! You can’t find a better location, and it’s surprisingly quiet tucked behind the main strip. The room was clean and spacious. Breakfast buffet was simple and satisfactory.
Rohid went above and beyond many times for us in the 5 days we were there. With travel issues getting into the Catania airport, he was able to schedule a driver for us to the neighboring airports with short notice. They were also extremely accommodating for us as I required fridge storage for breast milk. I was able to text him questions throughout our stay and he suggested some great restaurants for us.

The hotel was like a small oasis in the busy Main Street of Corso Umberto. The room was lovely with a small outside seating area. It could be noisy as it is on the Main Street but this did not adversely impact my stay and proximity to bars and restaurants was worth it for me

Great lcation and ambience. This is a Very unique to setting tucked away in the middle the main street of Taormina...gardens,outdoor couches,hammocks, hot tub, fruit trees, breakfast on the terrace. We had an \"attic\" room with beams across the ceiling.very spacious. Only complaint was that shower adjustments were quirky and shower pan drained slowly, creating a backup that almost overflowed into bathroom. One caveat: Be prepared for many stairs!

This truly is the secret garden of Taormina: an oasis amidst the hustle and bustle of the main strip! This place is special: an unassuming door whisks you off the main drag and into a beautifully kept home complete with hot tub, outdoor lawn area with hammocks, trees, plants, and (fake) grass, a (small but sufficient) gym area, and plenty of outdoor living space (tables, couches, seating area, etc.) to make your stay comfortable and homey. It is unlike any other place I've experienced outside of a hotel in Italy and Europe, and at an affordable price. About 10 min walk from parking, so you can leave your car and enjoy Relais 147 and Taormina on foot! Filling breakfast to give you the energy for your day. Communal books and staff are available to help you plan your time effectively, and are very communicative and helpful online as well. A/C in rooms was not as powerful as we would like given the heat but it did not matter because we loved everything else about the space, the bed, the great storage in the room, and the views of Etna from our window! We are coming back and staying here again at our home-away-from-home : Relais 147!

Salvo took great care of us during our stay. The location is a hidden gem within Taormina. It’s a busy tourist area in the centre which we wanted to be in the heart of everything and we felt at home here. It’s very closed to all the attractions. We will definitely return.

I stayed at Relais 147 for 2 nights to enjoy Taormina and Etna wine country. The setting was a beautiful oasis right off the main pedestrian street. There was a wonderful peaceful courtyard and my room was generously sized with a very nice semi-private enclosed deck.
Breakfast was included and was very good with lots of baked goods, some fruit, and eggs.
Unfortunately, my trip started with delayed luggage at Palermo airport. I was having issues coordinating the arrival and delivery of my luggage as I was moving around the island. Salvo, the owner, was amazing in helping out. He offered his contact with the airline and also phoned the baggage service to help coordinate it all, while I went off wine tasting.
He recommended 2 great restaurants to eat at during my stay and both were less touristy than the main strip options with authentic food.
I would absolutely recommend staying at Relais 147 and plan to return in the future.

Beautiful property right in the center of old town in Taormina. The secret garden where breakfast is served is one of the highlights. The owner was super responsive and goes out of his way. If you have time, get a massage there - you won’t be disappointed. Can’t go wrong with Relais 147!

We had a great time at Relais 147. It's a beautiful boutique hotel right off the main street of Taormina. The location is amazing - walking distance to major sites/attractions, restaurants and bars, including the cable cars down to the beach.
The hotel is very new and clean. It's a beautiful building with an amazing garden to relax in. Our room had a great patio as well. Breakfast was good with baked goods, boiled eggs, yogurt, fruit and more.

The hotel is very new and clean. It's a beautiful building with an amazing garden to relax in. Our room had a great patio as well. Breakfast was good with baked goods, boiled eggs, yogurt, fruit and more.

The property is located in the most perfect location right in the middle of the Main Street in Taormina. It is easy to access with your luggage after your taxi drops you off at the main area (ask them to drop you off at “Porto Catania”. Then it’s straight down the Main Street about 150 ft. Loved our stay at Relais 147! On the main road, behind the door you'll find a private oasis. Everything is well decorated - from the outdoor space to the shared space on the main floor, to our room. Though it appeared small (Master Suite Jonio) - you have a walk in closet to store your luggage, and a large outdoor private balcony which significantly adds room, and is a great place to relax after traipsing around town! Rosj and her husband are lovely - very friendly and helpful. For those who love small places to stay vs large, impersonal hotels - do not hesitate to stay here, you won't regret it!

This property is absolutely beautiful and tastefully decorated. Very centrally located for great food selection and must see sights are all in easy walking distance. The hosts Salvatore and Rosj are lovely hosts that provide very useful local information and incredibly obliging ensuring any request is happily and efficiently managed. Amazing home! Yes home. The attention to detail is impressive the hospitality even more. It is super centrally located - you will find your self few steps away from the center of town. The hosts are warm, welcoming and always ready to help. The room was extremely clean and the design was modern and relaxing. We had the opportunity to stay in a room with semi - private terrace. The pictures of which will speak for itself. Everything around the house had a special touch , the secret garden with the hammocks, the lounge area , the terrace with retracting roof . It is an oasis in the buzzing city center ... really we are grateful for the hospitality and recommend this place with no reservations.

Sulla via principale di Taormina, insiste il relais 147. Aperto il portone, ci si trova all’interno di uno splendido giardino che prevede una palazzina deliziosa di tre piani. L’ambiente interno è molto ben arredato e la struttura è davvero bella. La camera e i servizi non sono all’altezza della struttura. Il personale è molto gentile, premuroso e preparato. La colazione è la nota dolente: buffet dolce e salato con prodotti da discount. Le torte e i cornetti sono di bassa qualità, lo stesso dicasi per i salumi ed il succo d’arancia (perché non una spremuta nella terra delle arance???). Peccato davvero, rendere un posto così bello soltanto attrattivo per turisti stranieri è squalificante per il potenziale della struttura

The building, constructed about 45 years ago, came into existence, because of a romance, a promise of marriage and the beginning of a lovely family.
He came from a far distant town, whereas she was from Taormina. After some time and after many love-filled visits, they decided to get married and start a family together.
Thirty years later, the family decided to transform the place into a holiday residence, so over 10 months' restructuring took place– the walls, the windows and terraces, all the electric and water plants , all the window and door frames were overhauled, the finest, oak patterned flooring laid, the walls re-decorated and high-quality fittings provided for all the bathrooms. All the work was carried out by dedicated local craftsmen.
The result is a series of apartments and suites. The interiors and the decorative elements are all strictly Italian, including the fabrics, the workmen, the furniture, the curtain-makers, the lamp-producers, the people who made the sofas, armchairs, chairs, cupboards carried out their work with loving attention to the smallest detail, so that a guest can feel as comfortable and at home as possible, surrounded by beautiful interiors.
Taormina is at the centre of a historic and highly picturesque area which captures the admiration of visitors from Italy and from all over the world, increasing the number of people who crowd the narrow streets of the ancient town every year.
