Excellent hotel with great staff, lovely food and a wonderful location. If you don’t want to stay in the hotel you need to hire a car as taxis to anywhere are expensive, the food was good value but drinks were expensive. The only negative of the stay was the bed being very uncomfortable.

The staff was second to none. The dinners were exquisite. The property's grounds were spectacular. The rooms were very comfortable. The only draw back were the guests with big dogs and infants. So if you're looking for adult only, romantic stay, think twice. But having said that, it still was spectacular!

This place was absolutely beautiful. The pool and private beach were everything. Watch the sunset from the pool deck. It’s breathtaking. The Mediterranean gardens lining the walkways were stunning. We upgraded to a deluxe room and it was perfect for me and my 13 year old daughter. Would be perfect for a couple as well.

Hotel is beautiful, however both days at the pool everyone else was served and I was never once asked if i wanted food or drinks which i did. Also both nights the AC didn’t work in the room. The last night i was moved to an adjacent room and an hour later the AC and power went out in the entire room. I brought this inconvenience to the attention of hotel staff and no compensation was provided. Evening bar staff (female) not very engaging. Almost appeared annoyed at my presence. Finally the pool closes at 8pm which is way too early considering there is nowhere else locally to go without a long drive. WiFi is touch and go and the private beach sand is extremely coarse

We had the most wonderful stay at Cala Cuncheddi Hotel! From the moment we arrived, everything felt special. The setting is absolutely breathtaking — especially the sunsets, which were some of the most beautiful we’ve ever seen. The restaurant was a highlight of our trip: not only was the food exceptional every single time, but dining with those stunning views made each meal unforgettable.

A very special thank you to Roberto, our server throughout the week. His warm hospitality, attention to detail, and genuine kindness made us feel so welcomed. He truly elevated our experience and made our dinners even more enjoyable.
Their private beach is beautiful and so is their pool. We always found spots either at the beach or at the pool.

We can’t wait to return to Cala Cuncheddi and relive this perfect combination of great food, beautiful scenery, and exceptional service.

The staff was very attentive, buffet breakfast and lunch/dinner options were excellent, beach was amazing, very comfortable lounge chairs at the beach (most beach resort hotels don't offer comfortable lounge chair cushions), great bed in the room, beautiful view from the balcony, etc...The only request that I would make to the hotel is to heat up the pool a bit as it was quite cold even with the hot Sardinian sun.

Property was immaculate. The front desk staff were awesome, Bar staff Mario
And his sidekick were great. Mario makes a killer whiskey sour.
The restaurants on site were on point and kept the food interesting by shaking up the menu daily.
Breakfast was always exceptional and lots of options from American to Italian.
The pool is gorgeous and the private beach and water are stunning. There are loungers at pool and beach. There is no hotel bar/ food service down at the beach but there’s a small local bar on beach separate from the hotel. Or you can bring your own drinks/ food.

The rooms are perfect and have everything you need. Housekeeping staff are trustworthy as we left valuables in our room and never had an issue.
There’s even a small gym if you care to work out on vacation. There’s a spa on site but we never used it as we spent all our time at beach/ pool.
The young staff/ employees are still going through some growing pains as the busy season starts but all in all they did a flawless job and will only get better and better with time. This stay was 11 out of 10, so great !! Thanks to the Cala Staff !!

This is an elite property. The views are breathtaking, the incredible large pool overlooks the ocean, the beach is a few steps from the pool, the staff are fantastic. The rooms are gorgeous and the entire property is clean and beautiful. If you want to leave the resort style hotel, you need a car. Nothing is in walking distance, but when you want a location on the beach you need a car in Sardinia. This hotel will not disappoint!

The hotel was beautiful located. The staff go over and above for their guests. We noticed they tend to seniors demands.
The private beach is quiet and always enough room for all. The only thing is you need water shoes to get in because of rocks...
We had half board with includes breakfast and supper....however any water, coffee, teas are all extras.....and bill adds up very fast!!!
I enjoyed my stay, it was relaxing and we had a rental car so we got to enjoy other beautiful beaches with crystal clear water and white sands..

Price value not in line. Too expensive...

The price value relation was not good. The room was very nice, but food was sub par, the beach was not the nicest, for the price you pay you should be able to change the towels from beach/pool if you want. Only hotel with mosquitos from 6 we stayed in sardinia. Nice view from rooms and pool.

Very expensive airport shuttle service provided by the hotel for a short 20 minute trip each way. Paid for the return journey upon check in and then the taxi and hotel tried to charge us again on the return trip and only after some time and our persistence that we had already paid did they finally acknowledge. Very unprofessional and caused us distress. Location is very remote, barely anything within walking distance and taxis are very expensive. Only provided with one bottle of water for a day and are then charged an expensive amount for any further bottles. Very expensive for food and drinks. Breakfast was very nice and there was a wide range to choose from with beautiful views. Beach is beautiful but is stony and not white sand , I believe there are nicer beaches on the island. Only excursion possible is on a speedboat. The room was nice and modern and very clean, although we didn’t have the best view. I am normally not a person to complain and had high hopes of staying here for our honeymoon but sadly it wasn’t the experience I would have hoped for.

We loved this hotel! From the moment you walk into the lobby you are impressed with the views. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. Our room was very comfortable had an amazing view of the ocean and the pool.

I chose this beautiful property for many reasons, but found myself with even more having stayed there 3 days. The resort has all the fine finishings, great food, service, scenery, spacious rooms, spa, and huge amounts of attention to detail, etc... Staff unfriendly beyond imagination to Americans. Few had any English skills. Shower flooded due to poor design and maintenance. Couldn’t open doors because kitchen smells. No amenities in room. Away from everything. Food is stupid priced and marginal. Breakfast marginal. Car rental was absolute rip off. Charged hundreds over after I left to go home. Hotel set up taxi back to airport and ripped me off. $60 for a $20 ride. NEVER GO THERE. PICK ANYWHERE ELSE. Absolute joke—unless you’re a local maybe… Completely ripped me off all the way around. Terrible experience. TERRIBLE. STAY AWAY

The location is gorgeous and the hotel really does have the Wow effect when you first enter the lobby. My first impression was good - the friendly and attentive receptionist Gloria checked us in. After that, the service quality was somewhat inconsistent. I wondered whether it was because the hotel was understaffed. The prices for food were understandably high due to the location but the quality was mostly good. The pool was gorgeous, and the private beach was blissful. I was a little disappointed as I was led to believe that as an Expedia Gold member, I would be given a better room. Our room was on a lower floor, with sliding doors that opened up to the thorough fare - hence not much privacy there.

We planned a trip to Sardinia but this hotel was very far from everything at least 50mins driving. After turning off the main road the drive to the hotel which is about 10mins is very dark and we always felt uneasy.

Amazing overall experience!! The staff was extremely friendly and went above and beyond to make sure everything about my vacation was perfect. I celebrated our anniversary with my girlfriend, and was able to organize a romantic dinner on the beach that we will definitely remember for a long time! I would like to take a moment to thank two waiters, Mattia and Alessandro, for pampering us during that dinner and getting everything ready. The rooms were extremely clean and cozy, and the hotel features breathtaking unobstructed views of the sea and beach. Breakfast and dinner were always served outside, so that guests could fully enjoy the view and summer breeze. Pro tip: dinner is served between 8pm and 9:30pm, try to aim for 9pm because otherwise you might be dealing with a bit too many bees while eating (they go away during sunset). Staff was always very responsive though, obviously not their fault.

If you decide to visit Sardinia, you better book this property!

I don't know if they don't like British people, but my 89 year old Mum and I found our one particular waiter quite surley.
The other staff were ok, but ...I don't know just wouldn't go back to this hotel as we felt s bit unwelcome.
It was chic,bcomfortable and clean though.

Wonderful experience. We didn’t have a rental car because we didn’t get the international drivers license and I do think the stay would be better if we had access to a car. It is 40 Euros to Olbia or the airport one way. There is nothing you can walk to so you end up staying at the hotel. The presentation of available activities could be better organized and explained. We were under the impression our room included a tub from the booking process though and were told there are only 2 tubs in the entire hotel and have to be requested. Not a huge deal since there is an ocean and a pool but I was looking forward to the large tub and was bummed out. The beds are not comfortable at all. Quite hard, but you tend to not mind after spending the day on the beach. We did the wine tasting add on and the couples spa/massage add on and enjoyed each a lot. We also added the food option with dinner which made dinner 30/night instead of 40. We ate there every night and enjoyed it thoroughly.

Beautiful and clean hotel located by the beach 10 min from a small town and 20 min from Olbia. Great arrival with a free upgrade.

Rooms are large, clean, modern and well equipped except that there are no coffee machine nor wine.

The property’s amenities including the gym, pool, lounges and private beach are extremely well maintained. Parking is very convenient too.

The main issue was around service: first, hard to be served in English, no room service available, no coffee machine in room or coffee available in the hotel before breakfast starts at 8 am. Also, restaurant hours are very limited so if you want to snack or have something off restaurants times, it is difficult. Finally, we had to leave 1 day earlier and the hotel wouldnt waive our last night charges.

I dont think I would go back as there are so many beautiful places in Sardinia but if the downsides dont bother you, I suggest it.

The hotel was good but a)the shower flooded the bathroom and was told it was a design fault and could not be fixed b) on the beach we wanted to sit in a certain place the lifeguard refused to put up a parasol and chairs and was told to sit elsewhere because he could not be bothered and it was too much effort so much for customer choice c) wanted to go to a market was told there was obe in the next town despite us checking onlube was told it was definitely on. We drove there only to find out it was in the evening not when they said so we waated 2 hours getting there

From the moment we walked in to the hotel everything was just perfect! Hotel location is extremely memorable and right on the beach with private area for residents. Stunning views from the pool area and balcony of the room. The staff at reception, bar, restaurant, pool, beach to housekeeping could not be more helpful and friendly, service was professional and very attentive. The food and wine to die for! There is nothing that I could fault and not enough space here to describe all pros! Highly recommended, worth every penny and for sure will return!

Breakfast and lunch were good but would recommend not eating dinner at either restaurant. If you like food (my husband is a chef in NYC) the food was some of the worst we had in Italy. We found multiple places in Olbia that were delicious.

Rather remote, no possibility to walk along a promenade to find a bar or alternative restaurant. You definitely need a rental car, no taxi company nearby. Dinner menu limited and uninspiring but breakfast excellent. Hotel very precious about beach towels - you are allowed one a day and have to present a card. Toiletries not replaced after use, we used two tiny shampoo bottles and when room the was cleaned the following day they were not replaced. No shower cap provided. Basin plug leaked and after reporting this it was not repaired.

Fantastic hotel... spotlessly clean.

Fantastic hotel with very friendly and welcoming staff. Spotlessly clean. Great buffet breakfast and a fantastic pool.
Would have been great to have had in-room tea and coffee making facilities, else 5 star in every category.
Unless you are happy to stay within the hotel walls for the duration of your holiday, a hire car is a must to go exploring Sardinia.

I thought the hotel and staff were great overall but didn't like the fact that there was no shower in my bathroom (just tub). Also, the pillows were very uncomfortable

Great hotel with friendly staff

The hotel was great. Good views, good location and great pool. The staff were really friendly and nothing was too much. Even more so when we re-booked for 1 night when stranded due to no BA flights following their IT outage. They let us keep our room all day whilst trying to sort out flights back to the UK and could not have been more helpful and accommodating - an example to BA of how customer service should be.

Overall a very nice hotel. Staff throughout were very helpful and friendly, particularly reception and bar staff.

Room was modern and very clean. Air conditioning worked very well. Note that the power sockets were 3 pin Type L rather than the usual 2 pin continental plugs. Reception were able to provide an adapter but we got their last one.

Pool area nice but unfortunately the pool was too cold to use in late October. Beach area also very nice.

In late October Sardinia is very quiet with lots of places closed. Weather was OK for walking and sightseeing but not great for swimming.

We went half board. The price for this was very good value at the time we booked. It worked out at around £12 per person for dinner. Dinner was 4 courses. Starter was normally a seafood appetiser or a ham and cheese types dinner, first course of soup or pasta (4 choices), 4 choices of main course and then a dessert buffet. Very good and efficiently delivered. The cost for those not on half board was €60. Location was fairly isolated so wouldn't have been great to drive out for every meal elsewhere.

Breakfast was a good mixture of buffet options.

We enjoyed the beach and boardwalk at Porto Taverna. The walk from Porto Istana to Porto San Paolo was great. Trips to Capo Testa and La Maddalena were good.

A car definitely recommended to get about.

Overall a good stay.

Nice private beach, not so great AC

The private beach area was excellent although the system for checking out towels could use some improvement.
Front staff was very friendly and accommodating. They definitely made you feel welcome.
Breakfast buffet was lovely and overlooked the beach and water.
The spa was excellent and included a complimentary Turkish bath which was very nice.
My only complaint was the room. It was extremely hot! They control the AC to a set temperature at night. We called to have someone come look at it which they promptly did but told us it was working correctly. It was still extremely hot and we couldn't sleep. We called the night manager and he suggested we open the door. We did not want bugs in so he came up to the room. He explained the hotel sets the temperatures and that he would have to manually adjust ours lower. He did so and we were finally able to get some sleep.
I was appreciative of their quick response, I just wish we were told of the AC being out of our control so we could have requested it fixed a lot sooner and caught some shut eye a bit earlier. All in all it is a nice place but I don't feel it was worth what we paid for it.

spotlessly clean in a beautiful location

Generally speaking, this hotel provides an idyllic experience. The only thing I found unpleasant was the way that a few of the male waiting staff patrolled the dining room with a very stern and unwelcoming demeanour. (The other staff were really lovely). Do note that the kayaks are not owned by the hotel and cost extra. Half board proved to be a good choice as there didn't appear to be any restaurants within walking distance.

Great relaxing break in the sun

We stayed 5 nights and had a great time at this hotel. Positives were the great pool and beach access with sun lounges, a good restaurant with plenty of food options (the half board option is good value), there is a bar, there are plenty of places to relax, there is a nice spa, great sunsets, the staff were all really nice, the breakfast was good, the rooms are serviced every day and the beds are comfy, good aircon, and everything is kept clean. If you have a car I advise mixing up lunch and dinner with trips to beaches up the coast (Costa smeralda) and towns all around (we liked San Theodoro for pizza and gelato). Some negatives for us were, our room was right underneath a balcony and the neighbours upstairs were always outside dragging chairs around which was really loud when trying to sleep, while the rooms had glazing, noise seemed to come a lot from the hallway through the door with people slamming doors and talking, and while our room was located at the end of the building we could still hear the musician playing in the main lounge area through to midnight. Not major things really. Pack earplugs if you're sensitive. Overall a good place to stay.

Beach views to die for!

A weeks stay at Calcuncheddi has left it's mark- we loved it! Lovely views over a beautiful beach! Great pool, very relaxed and helpful staff. Food at restaurant was deicious-pay for the half board option,it is definately worth it!! Hotel is only 10k from airport but road to get there is a little rustic...but adds to adventure! Lifeguards at pool and beach,pool towels are provided. We had a very relaxing and delightful stay!!

Newly refurbished hotel in a fantastic location

If you are looking for a relaxing beach holiday then Hotel Cala Cuncheddi is the perfect place! Due to its remote location there isn't much choice when it comes to shopping or eating out but Olbia is only 20 mins away and it's within an easy reach of other coastal towns. With taxi prices in Sardinia being absolutely extortionate, I would strongly recommend hiring a car if you are planning on doing some sightseeing (parking in the hotel is free).
We thought the food in the hotel was superb and would definitely advise going half board (you can then choose whether to have lunch or dinner and can change your preference on a daily basis). Everything we tried was absolutely delicious and it was great to get an exposure to some traditional Sardinian dishes. The service was extremely efficient to the point of us having to ask for a small break in between the second and main courses!
We had a great time and would definitely go back.
