Two great, very quiet, beaches either side, both with nice restaurants, and the hotel, on cliffs between them, is the perfect setting. Fantastic seafood platter in their Mila restaurant, paired with the perfect view. All that was missing was an outdoor pool, but on a short stay we didn't mind.

The staff was amazing, and the view was our own personal slice of heaven. The property was so clean and their attention to detail was impressive. An aroma of class fills the property and you can even purchase that aroma to go, which we did :). I would highly recommend to anyone who wants an amazing 5 star experience at an affordable price.

This is an older property, but the rooms have been modernised very tastefully and the location is phenomenal. We had an incredible view over the ocean and surroundings.
The staff were all excellent, friendly and helpful. Laura in particular was fantastic.
Food, drinks and amenities were all outstanding. A few more vegetarian dinner choices would be nice.

The waterfront views from our room and during meals/leisure time were wonderful. Also, the beautiful waterfront walking paths were a perfect morning, afternoon or evening activity.

Beautiful Cliffside Hotel overlooking Roses

What a gorgeous hotel! I picked the hotel after extensive research for it's location and views....it did not disappoint!

HOTEL - It's tucked away in the cliffs overlooking the town of Roses. It's quiet, majestic, & beautiful. The staff was so attentive & friendly. The woman at the front desk speaks 5 languages! Almost everyone speaks English. Every room has an ocean view and a balcony ... mine did not disappoint. I was a little worried upon arrival because they gave me the room directly by the front desk but I did not hear a thing.

Restaurants - They are all expensive. El Brancs is their fine dining restaurant that opens in the evening only. It's totally worth it! I dined their twice and everything was worth the price. El Pirata Club is their beach \"club\" downstairs near the water. It's got amazing views!! But way overpriced! I paid $35 US dollars for a bowl of clams which was 12 clams in a bowl with broth, & nothing else. Delicious but pricey! My tab was over $100 USD for 2 drinks and the clams. You are paying for the view, not the food. Staff was GREAT though. LA TAPA - also great service, didn't love my food.

LOCATION - Not in town but located on a beach path, which is about a 20-30 minute walk into town. I loved it!

I knew what I was walking into. I chose this place knowing it was more expensive than other places in town but it was worth it for the views, quiet, & service! Side note: I went solo but this place is definitely set up for ROMANCE!

The hotel is simply fantastic. Excellent property for a romantic getaway. We stayed at the hotel for one week, we booked a suite with sea views and the room was spacious and modern. The staff is always willing to help and nice. All the property was extremely clean and the restaurants were amazing. If you love wine, request a visit to the underground cellar. I definitely recommend this hotel. Also you have a trail just in front called “cami de ronda” which leads you to other small beaches and small bays. We will come back for sure.

Very average disappointing.

We booked a “standard garden view” room. We were checked into a double room with a view of a garage entrance and utility area! By no stretch of the imagination was there any garden. They upgraded us to a seaview room next day (no charge) with a “partially open” bathroom. This actually means that the toilet and shower are in the bedroom with glass doors. No privacy - ensure you are ‘very friendly indeed’ with your room mate. It even had a big mirror on the ceiling above the bed 😳.
Note: stone steps to nice beach but inadequate hand rails - beware if you are not completely mobile.
Pros: Staff were lovely. We ate in three of their restaurants, they were all fine, the beach bar was our favourite, food was better than the Michelin starred Els Brancs in our opinion. Wouldn’t stay again.

The isolation of the rooms were not so good, we heard a lot of noise from people who went late sleeping and people who stand up early.

Very disappointing. Didn’t feel like a 5 stars hotel. I think that they did some photoshop to the pictures because it looks a little different in reality... the room looks similar to the picture, but older...
There’s a bathtub in the middle of the room and the toilet has no privacy at all.
In addition, the bathtub wasn’t very clean and it had hairs in it. We also had some pieces of tobacco on the bed (probably the cleaning lady rolled a cigarette and didn’t notice that she dropped some pieces of the bed).
I expected much more from this place due to the price they charge per night.

Loved this boutique hotel. We booked it on a whim and were happy we did. Great location, close to several beaches and natural park. Beautiful location for sunsets and watching the fishing boats in the bay. Staff are excellent. Would go back in a heartbeat.

A wonderful experience and memory!

This hotel experience was excellent just as I expected it would be. It was right at the end of their summer season so we got to watch them dismantle and tow the dock away for the winter. The staff was very attentive and friendly. Each one added to our positive experience. The room was large and spacious and the view from the balcony was a real treat. The small swimming beach was just the perfect size and very convenient to the hotel. We are taking away a wonderful memory of our time here and look forward to our return.

The service was top notch, particularly from Isaac who made us feel so welcome and who's attention to detail was unparalleled during our time abroad. Idyllic, relaxing, 5 star experience

We were greeted by a pleasant, enthusiastic valet/bellman/concierge. Our room was spacious, light, airy with a lovely private balcony overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. The bathroom was also spacious and the vanity was large enough for our assortment of toiletries. The property was beautiful with an understated elegance, and a selection of restaurants. The fresh fish and seafood were excellent as were the reasonably priced Catalan wines. There were many public area seating options for viewing the sea, and we especially likes the open air \"chill out\" beds with pillows where you nap, read, converse, sip wine and stare at the water. The service was impeccable, and the setting was idyllic. Overall we had a very relaxing, romantic experience.

The Nightmare

At reception we queued for 15 mins to check-in. The room was nice but the 'garden' view is in fact the front drive and it had an open-plan bathroom with zero privacy. We changed rooms to one with a normal bathroom - it was ok. The main restaurant was closed for the season so we had a choice of a smelly (deep fried oil) tapas bar or the restaurant alongside the sea. We chose the latter and were seated right next to the smelly tapas bar and the electrics cupboard. Service was abysmal - wine took 15 mins to arrive, bread came after dinner was finished! Worst of all, the monk fish stew kept my husband up all night with the worst case of food poisoning ever experienced. Next morning we naturally complained and were told there would be an enquiry (?) No compensation was offered and we of course decided to check out. The dinner cost €90, the hotel charged the room rate as booked and even insisted on charging us for water from the mini bar, without which my husband may well have had to be hospitalised. We have heard nothing from Vistabella and would warn anyone not to go there, despite its picturesque location. This hotel should be avoided at all costs!! The receptionist seemed to think she was doing us a favour by not charging us for a second night and intimated that fish doesn't agree with everyone!! We are experienced travellers and gastronomic fish eaters.

Great break on the Costa Brava

My husband and I spent three nights here en route from Barcelona to Bordeaux. The hotel is outside of town and you can do a lovely 45 minute walk along the shoreline to town. We had dinner at two of the hotel's restaurants. Both were good. Our room had been recently renovated. The air conditioner broke down but the staff handled the situation very well, providing free cocktails and ultimately use of a penthouse suite. Our one complaint about the hotel would be that we found our room, which was on the first floor, noisy from other activity in the hall and spa area.

Lovely location right on the waters edge and a few miles away from the somewhat noisy and brash resort of Roses.I would recommend boat trips and the road train which takes you high up into the mountains with wonderful views over the whole bay of Roses.

2-day escape

We had a nice, 2-day stay. It was the hotel's first day opening for the year so they were still working out a few bugs here and there, but staff was very friendly and attentive and our stay was romantic and enjoyable.

Great hotel to chill in Roses bay

We had a lovely stay in a spacious room with a great sea / sunset view. The hotel is well away from the centre of Roses so a car is a must. It is billed as a 5 star hotel and the standard of service reflects this, but it is actually quite small. We had a standard room which had some odd quirks -e,g the bathroom had a window to the main part of the bedroom with curtains on the bedroom side and cheap plastic chairs and table on the balcony, but these were minor quibbles. The buffet breakfast was excellent with a wide range of pastries, fruit breads, cheese, salamis etc and eggs to order in whatever style we wanted. Eating in the hotel's 4 restaurants is quite pricey and the one meal we had was no better than elsewhere. The pool lounging area is very small, but there are 5 kingsize lounging \"beds\" with canvas canopies and huge cushions which were great to just chill out and take in the sea view.

Very nice stay. Breakfast was great. Really great views. Would stay again for sure. Service at Tapas restaurant during the day was very lousy though. Also an outdoor pool would have been great, although having a beach was quite nice. Other than that the stay was great and I would definitely reccomend Vistabella, as the HOTEL staff displayed truly a 5 star service. El Blancs restaurant food was good but not great, however the service of El Blancs was quite attentive and above average. Loved how the room was cleaned 2 times daily. Overall I would definitley reccomend the hotel.

Personal super freundlich und mehrsprachig, Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis passt nicht, Restaurants überteuert, der Parkplatz kostet 25 € pro Nacht und man muss den Schlüssel abgeben! Gleichzeitig werden keine Schäden am Auto übernommen. Frühstück super. Ist man nicht. In einer der oberen Zimmer hört man jeden Schritt der Nachbarn.

Hotel qui n'a rien d'un cinq étoiles. Nous avions réservé un chambre double a 400 € la nuit, deux nuits.
Nous avons attendu 1 h que la chambre soit prête. pendant ce temps nous avons ete mangé au restaurant, les plats étaient très mauvais. Franchement bien au dessous des cinq étoiles. Un risotto mal cuit, aux légumes. Pareil pour mon conjoint risotto aux gambas pas cuites et palourdes ridicule dans une casserole rouillée.

Très loin du 5 étoiles, je suis mécontente :
- chambre 212 propre mais très mal insonorisée : on entend distinctement les personnes qui passent dans le couloir ainsi que le personnel de la réception située proche, on entend les pas des adultes et les enfants qui courent de l’appartement situé à l’étage supérieur
- vue mer mais grandement génée car la chambre 212 donne sur le toit du restaurant
- coffre fort hors service
- pas de rideaux occultants : nous avons été réveillés dès l’aube par la luminosité passant par les persiennes et le fin rideau ☹️
- pas de wc séparé
- piscine intérieure hors d’age et présence de rouille au sol
- personnel serviable mais trop peu nombreux : un seul serveur pour gérer l’apéritif du soir
- petit déjeuner acceptable mais pas du niveau d’un 5 étoiles. Le petit déjeuner de l’Almabrava est bien plus qualitatif comparativement
- seul bonus : la vue incroyable depuis les tables sur la mer et les rochers, plage de la Pirata remplie de poisson
Résultat : je ne reviendrai pas au Vistabella

Det var en temmelig gennemført oplevelse at bo på Vistabella. Udsigten er en primær grund til at booke hotellet, men morgenmadspersonalet (og naturligvis selve morgenmaden) var på et meget højt niveau.
