It is a great hotel in downtown Jakarta. The room we stayed was nice and clean, staff were extremely helpful and friendly. That being said will I be staying there again? The answer is no. The main in Jakarta is tap water. It is unhygenic and you need a bottled water for brushing your teeth, washing your face, drinking etc. However this hotel provides 2 mid-size bottles of water. These were not enough for even one person need. There are no convenience stores or any stores near by. In the evening we had to catch a cab and go to buy a bottled water. It was a hassle. Other hotels have water stations or some provide addtional bottles of water.

For a 24h layover in Jakarta this is an Affordable hotel that has everything you need; swimming pool, breakfast, spa, well located to have a look at main attractions. I can see it was once a grand hotel but it is a bit run down. Still for the price it’s great. Comfy beds and pillows.

Great location with great service

Very professional staff. Staff members are outside ready to help you load or unload your baggage. Easy check-in process. I asked for a slightly later checkout and it was granted. The location is also pretty good and relatively easy to get to tourist destinations. I would recommend staying here.

The hotel staff was above and beyond, the hotel is a tad aged but nice for Jakarta. They had a large government convention booked the whole time we we're staying. It's not 5 star, more like 4.

The security was extensive (under-car bomb checks on every car entering). The traffic & construction outside, while not the hotels fault... Was abysmal. If you want to go anywhere that's a 10min drive. Plan for almost an hour.

Our room was updated to a suite, I have an electric wheelchair so they assumed I needed the handicap bathroom. I really wanted the bathtub to soak in. You can't take electric wheelchairs in the shower.

The beds we're shockingly soft for SE Asia with giant comfy pillows. Room service is prompt & friendly (ice buckets delivered). But the maid comes to clean regardless of what you ask them, so be prepared.

Comes with a mini fridge & glass bottled waters. Breakfast buffet is large, but cafeteria style flavorless food & Halal cuisine (no pork). Indonesians use a buffet like they drive. Be prepared for folks to cut you off walking & take the tongs out of your hand. They've got places to be apparently...

Lunch was cheap & tasty. The burgers & fish fry are massive. Much different than breakfast.

Lots of nice restaurants & malls nearby, just plan a lot of extra time for traffic when planning your day.

Plan to stay only for 3 nights. However, the staffs hospitality win my hearts and continue another 2 more days. A hotel to return to

An extremely good hotel, seems underrated but I was fortunate enough to give an event in this hotel and therefore booked a room for a week.
The room was good, the elevators worked well, the food and service was international.
Also the only Starbucks in Jakarta open 24/7 is 5 minutes away by taxi.
I will come again.

While this hotel is dated, it is in good condition. The food is good. The best thing about this place is the staff. They are fantastic. The consistently exceed expectations and make the stay here very pleasant. I have stayed here at least 5 times now; I keep coming back because of how the staff makes me feel. It's my first time I stayed at this hotel. Recommended by my good friend, this hotel is big,clean and very convenient. Very close to shopping malls and monument national. A little disappointed when I checked in and they gave me a room that's not ready but quickly the front desk switched to different rooms . Overall I'm satisfied and definitely would come back sometime.

Everything is great and the staff is amazing. The hotel view is also good and swimming pool is so big. Breakfast could be better if they limited the number of people at the same time, but the manager immediately noticed the confusion and solved it.

Just one thing to improve the water controller for the shower is hard to manage, sometimes super hot, other times cold.

Convenient location to train station and malls.

It was my third time staying at this hotel when I went to Jakarta. I like the interior designs, especially the bathroom. If you use Gambir station for your transportation, this hotel is located about 10 min by car from the station.
All staff welcome you and tries their best to make sure my stay is comfortable. I will definitely go back to this hotel again when I go to Jakarta next time

Amazing Service!

I can’t not express into words how much I loved our stay at this hotel. The staff were absolutely incredible! We had issues with our flight and my husband got a bit of heat stroke and they went above and beyond to help us with both situations. They responded to my WhatsApp messages so fast and were always willing to help out. If you are remotely thinking about booking a room please do. The rooms are lovely, the staff just make it an incredible experience. I highly recommend this hotel and would stay here again in a heart beat.

A Great place for solo, family with kids, couples

This was my second time to stay at this hotel in Jakarta. The location of this hotel is excellent if you are taking Gambir station. It is about 10 minutes and it is not expensive to take a Bluebird taxi (around Rp40,000) from and to this hotel. One of the biggest malls in Jakarta, Plaza Indonesia and Grand Indonesia is about 5-7 min by car.
You will like this hotel if you enjoy old decor and style.
There are many cheap thin-wall hotels in Jakarta. You will NOT enjoy the loud noise of the Islam prayer call (4 a.m.). You will not have a noise problem at this hotel and have a restful night.

I usually stay here when in Jakarta a few times a year, overall a very good place to stay. Excellent staff and rooms are comfortable and very clean. My only two issues on this stay was my room was very warm and maintenance did not seem to have a solution after two attempts fix the ac. Secondly, I found that several items at breakfast had sat too long under heat and were dried out.

Big hotel but sound proofing is poor as I can eat people on the hallway and the next door rooms. I could also hear kids in the swimming pool as our room was facing the pool. People were also smoking in their rooms and it could be smelled in our room. Breakfast was not really worth it.

The bed was comfy, good shower pressure and good location. The place is very run down and most of what I reported was not fixed or cleaned - mould in fridge was cleaned but fridge was broken, curtains didn't fully close, tv broke, bathroom wasn't clean, water wasn't refilled every day. The room service over charged me and food quality wasn't very good including warm white wine. I stopped trusting concierge and booked all my own transport after they messed up a booking. I wouldn't stay there again.

Honest review, we did enjoy our stay but this hotel is an old hotel. There is nothing much that can be done but a renovation of the property. Location is actually quite well situated to the happening thamrin shopping district but far enough to be away from the bustle. Whatever the hotel lacks in quality the staff more than make up with hospitality. Extremely friendly and great service. If you don't have a hang up of high tech modern/futuristic hotel, you will get a great old skool nostalgic charm.

The hotel is strategically located within the Tanah Abang area. If you are at Pasar Tanah Abang and could not get a Grab/Gojek ride, you can simply walk back to the hotel, which I reckon to be faster. I reached the hotel early, and while waiting for my room to be ready, I was served with a welcome drink by the affable staff, who also helped to expedite my check-in. The hotel staff are very generous with their greetings, be it at the reception area, restaurant and even along the walkway to the hotel room. It took me less than an hour to reach the hotel from the airport. The staff readily assisted to convert my breakfast to sahur (pre-dawn) meal for Ramadhan. For that, I am forever grateful to them. Will return back to this hotel during my next visit.

This is a close walk to national museum and Monument as well as some good restaurants. Only issue for us was the bathroom felt a little dirty. A new shower curtain would have went a long way!

We stayed 2 nights and another 2 nights after our travel to Cirebon. Very Good choice & very happy with our stay.

On both occasions, we had to ask reception to change the room fridge. Hotel obliged but had to wait.

Breakfast had good choice and egg station to get hot menu. Overall hotel is clean & looks quite new. Location is OK & quite easy to go ariund Jakarta City with readily available Blue Bird taxi and online Grab service. Also, accessible MRT stations are within 2 - 5 km distance
