We were given an alternative room on the second night because neither the fridge or aircon worked, as well as the shower being so small it was hard to wash properly in it. The alternative room was better, however the TV was much too small and too high up on the wall to be able to view it properly from the bed

The worst hotel in our trip!

Do yourself a favor and search for another place.
The toilets, the shower, and even the towel rack were broken.
The hotel is very far from the center and the view you see in the photos is only from the hotel balcony and not from the rooms.

I can’t say enough about the amazing helpful, friendly staff. They made our special at so enjoyable. The hotel and surrounding hill sides are just beautiful. The only downside for us is we didn’t rent a car. So it is about a $25 cab ride from train station. There is a bus that goes right by, which we took on the day the drivers went on strike. That’s not the hotels fault at all, but it is difficult to do. The pool area was lovely and the food in the restaurant was delicious. This property is amazing. You will definitely enjoy your stay. We certainly did.

Con: Hard bed, Value (It wasn’t worth the price I paid. ex: €15 for 50 min of dry sauna, small pool and gym, mediocre breakfast in an underground ‘cafeteria’ without any character. It felt like being in a cafeteria instead of enjoying breakfast with the view of Tuscany)

We booked a suite for 4 persons. the suite was not in the main building and we needed to climb the stairs with all our luggage. there in no elevator in this building. The room has 2 floors - a parents bedroom above a leaving room and small kitchen.. The hotel opened a sofa bed for the kids, but the mattress was very thin, so they replaced it into 2 more comfortable single beds.
Location is 15 minutes drive from Sienna, so a car is a must.
Breakfast is OK. Plenty of free parking outside the hotel.

Modern comfortable hotel.

The hotel's lobby was not impressive, however the room was great. It was clean and modern. The air conditioning worked perfectly. The view from our room was a nice plus. The lighting was not perfect as the lights were all at the head of the bed, leaving the rest of the room a bit dim. The breakfast buffet had a large assortment of cold and warm foods. We'd stay there again. It was a good base for exploring the countryside.

Not very nice looking on the outside but the inside was quite nice and well maintained.

Internet worked well when the hotel was quite empty but as soon as it filled up in the evening it was not useable. System needs upgrade in a big way.

1-2 hours away from any wineries so not great location for wine country visiting.

The rooms weren't ready at 1:45pm when we arrived while check in is 2pm. They were only able to give us our 2 rooms at around 2:10pm and that's one of the worst things you can do to a guest is make them wait after their travels even beyond check in time. Those minutes start to feel like an eternity.

Two thumbs up for Andrea at the front desk. He is friendly, professional and quite knowledgable about the area.

Don't Bother!!!

The hotel is not in Asciano, but in a place called Arbia, and added an extra 45 mins onto our drive. I booked a comfort room with a deep soaking bath, which after driving for 3 days would be wonderful, and was sent an email from there front desk saying, that because we had a dog we had been given a Junior Apartment with two entrances, one leading out to the garden, Bigger more comfortable room with Kitchenette. When we arrived, the room had a hard bed, no bath, no kitchenette, no cups, kettle, when we asked for these we were given just tea and no milk, so we had to complain again. The second door did not go into the garden, but a pathway that everyone walked past. We went for dinner, about 12 tables, 5 were taken, we sat down and was totally ignored by the staff for 30mins, when we asked why, the head waiter said it was because we just sat down and should have been seated by a member of staff, the food was okay, but very expensive! We went back to the room to go to bed, and the main wall light would not turn off, when we rang, they told us to go to the fuse box on the wall, and click a couple of switches till it went off! After refusing they came and sorted it and blamed it on the cleaners.
I know you might think there was a language problem, but my husband is fluent in Italian. This was a poor hotel, and will not stay here again.

It is not at all where you think it is. It is very close to Siena, but in a random town which you can't figure out until you are lost 20 km away. Get directions!!!

My first time in Italy

Hotel wasn't easy to find when we first arrived due to Sat Nav not recognising Zipcode/Postcode however after a phone call to the hotel the staff member was very helpful and we arrived at the hotel within minutes. On our arrival we were greeted well, shame the bar was shut but it was 11.30 at night and a mini bar was available in our room fridge. The room was clean and had plenty of room and had a cleaner come in everyday who would change towels and bed linen if required. Breakfast was well presented and in good supply and of A+ quality.

Worst stay in Italy

The worst part is that in the official homepage of the hotel says G.P.S. Coordinates is N43°18.056’E011°25.375′, this is extremely wrong to take us 25km away from the hotel. The hotel water of the shower came out very slow (about 15 min). There was no electric kettle to make hot water. There was no wifi reception in the room. I couldn't believe this is four-star hotel. I won't be here again.

Mold in room, nice staff moved us, and gave us free pool towels and caps, otherwise you have to pay for them. A little pricey... But, a nice, quiet, Tuscan escape to rest and relax along our self-guided tour around Italy.

Has a little difficulty finding the hotel - possibly satnav. The breakfast was very good. The rooms were nice and there was no issues. The swimming pool was small but pleasant, but it was a hassle as you are required to wear a bathing cap! Our room was on the top floor and the roof terrace provided a great view. We ate in the restaurant one evening, as there isn't too many options, and it was really good and good value. There is a bus that stops outside to go into Siena, which was easier than driving and parking.
We would be happy to visit again.

Relatively close to Siena without the pricetag

Hotel was very good, only down side was no shower only a bath and the air conditioning didn't work for the first night or so. Some of the guests were a bit rude and took over the pool, but that wasn't the hotel's fault. Restaurant was ok, but there is a cheaper more rustic option not far up the road. But would definitely stay there again if we needed an option near Siena. The pool was great after a long hot day.

Great hotel for price, location is a bit out of the way but if you have a car it's well worth staying here. Rooms are big and clean, very comfortable and no complaints about the facilities. Would definitely recommend staying here to see Sienna and its surroundings.

Sitting on your balcony over looking the surrounding hills was terrific. The hotel was everything we wanted it to be, quite with great service and amenities, plus a great little local cafe down the Street - I would recommend this hotel all day long - great stay.

Vacation on Montaperti hotel

We were staying on this hotel for 3 nights. Very nice hotel with good rooms ( superior room). The location is good , near chianti road. Very close to Firenze and Siena. The breakfast was disappointed. The staff was nice ( most of them). The price is good ( 78 euro for a night for 2 persons). I will recommended to stay at this hotel.

Clean modern quiet but wrong city address

Driving distance to Siena city center. Clean modern furniture. Quiet neighborhood but no fastfood no supermarket. Aciano is the closest town with facilities. Perfect tuscany country scenics drive, beautiful landscape farm fields.
The correct city address is Arbia at border of Casetta off hwy E78 east of Siena.

An excellent hotel with every comfort. Very close to Siena but in a quiet location. Very good breakfast and helpful staff. The hotel is very hard to find if you follow the address given which is Asciano, actually quite far away. The real address is Arbia and you need to use the exit Arbia which is just a couple of km from the hotel.

The front desk staff was very efficient and friendly. The room and bed were comfortable. The hotel is run down with wall paper in the bathroom peeling, bird droppings on the patio, breakfast room a mess, even though the staff was working hard. For all but the summer months there are handicapped children using the pool for one week out of each month. They have the main hours of use of the pool. The pool is extremely warm for them, and is too hot to exercise or swim. The pool area is in bad shape.

Quiet country hotel - good as a touring base.

Stylish Hotel but not for everyone visiting Siena. It is outside the city by quite a way. We had a car so it was fine. Lovely countryside setting but not much in the area. A good base for touring Tuscany and seemed popular with cyclists for that reason. The hotel has been styled nicely and we had a good room with a mezzanine bedroom, but it could use a coat of paint to freshen it up. It is not the prettiest hotel on the outside. Breakfast was good and staff generally pleasant. However, we found one or two of the reception staff unhelpful when we asked for advice. I am sorry that we don't speak Italian and this might have made things difficult, but the hotel had lots of guests from various non-italian speaking countries and surely reception staff should cope with that? Also, they had run out of bus tickets for sale which seems poor planning given their location. We were told you couldn't pay on the bus. We would have had to drive to the local town to buy a bus ticket so ended up just using the car after all. We had hoped to take a bus to Siena to avoid the worry of parking, but that actually turned out OK anyway. Overall we had a very nice holiday and are maybe being a bit picky about little things, but these might be important to others. The maid service was very good and they were very nice but did not re-stock the mini-bar....perhaps a good thing from our point of view! The facilities of the hotel are ok for a quiet relaxing retreat but hire a car or a bike to get out.

The hotel was nice and comfortable but the rooftop restaurant was more than superb. The meal was amazing and the views were more than memorable. We enjoyed our stay and after a long hot day touring on the motorbike the pool was a nice way to end the day! The staff was very helpful.

Modern hotel in rural Tuscany

A nice modern hotel in a rural part of Tuscany. A very nice breakfast was included. In general the hotel service was very good, only thing I didn't like was that they wouldn't register us immediately, they held our passports and had us return 10 minutes later - uncomfortable in a foreign country. Our room was very modern, I felt the bathroom was a little dusty and not super clean. Would stay here again.

We only stayed here one night on our way south. We arrived late and asked for a late checkout so that we could relax by the pool in the morning before heading out and they were very easy going about it and had no problem with us staying and resting a bit longer. We had dinner at the restaurant when we arrived and were incredibly surprised at how great the food was. We had an asparagus risotto and beef fillet that was cooked perfectly. We saw a table near us who had a special meal, that I think you can order in advance, that looked incredible and they also left very happy. The pool is beautiful and relaxing and is a great spot to unwind. We didn't stay in the neighborhood but it was easy to find and the parking was easy. We were also very surprised at the amount of food at the buffet breakfast. We were late getting there but they let us sit and eat before they put it away and it was much more than what we had at other hotels in Italy. They still have the traditional breads, meats, cheese, yogurt but also had a great scrambled eggs with zucchini and probably other great stuff that we missed since we got there when it was closing. Our only negative comment would be that the hotel seemed rundown, as if it had been updated years ago and nothing had been done since then. But it was very clean and with the staff, food and amount of space, we would definitely stay here again (and spend more time at the pool).

Very good hotel outside Siena

Very nice hotel, very good breakfast. Mini-fridge and pool were nice perks. The staff was very helpful, informative and friendly. The hotel is overall well decorated and modern. The only drawbacks were a very hard bed, thin pillows and a malfunction in the kitchen which caused a smell of smoke coming into our room through the AC (The staff offered to change our room, but when the problem was fixed an hour later the smell subsided and we stayed with the same room).

amazing hotel. modern, clean, great facilities

we loved our stay. this was a real gem in the middle of tuscany. it was centrally located. the rooms were great. there is a beautiful view of the hills from the outside pool deck. the food at the restaurant was delicious and the breakfast was as good as any 5 star hotel we have been to. they even had squeeze your own orange juice and hot breackfast. all included. we will definitely stay again on our next visit to this area.

This hotel was literally a breath of fresh air. Located about 20 minutes by car or bus (runs in front of hotel) outside Sienna, it was a gem. There is a pool and weight room, good breakfast, ample free parking, nice rooms with great views of the countryside. If you want to stay away from the crowds, this is perfect.

if you want to sit all day in your room, this is the place for you. the hotel is very nice, the rooms are clean, the food is good, but if you want to travel you will find that the place is quite far from the nearest city (siena).you will have to drive half an hour back and forth.to enjoy the most this location, you must have a car with you. another small tip: if you want to drink coffee in your room, you better bring with you mugs, because there are non of them in the room. there are only one-time- use cups.

This hotel is essentially in the middle of nowhere, but is great for the price. We stayed one night. You definitely need a car. We were three adults, and the third \"bed\" was a pullout armchair that was horribly uncomfortable. Other than that, no complaints. Breakfast was good, parking easy, internet free and functional, staff friendly. If you don't need to stay in an interesting area and want to explore Tuscany by car, this would be a great option.

Excellent hotel to stay and drive around Tuscuny

Centrally located in Tuscany near Siena right off the freeway. Excellent staff and service; greeted us with a smile and very helpful with telling us about places to visit in the area.
Breakfast was absolutely the best we had among many hotels we stayed in Italy, in addition to standard breakfast items they have freshly squeezed orange juice, ham and cheese and eggs etc. Free wifi, parking, pool and spa are great too.
Must have a car if you stay in this hotel as it is not walking distance to anything; which was perfect for us since we wanted to stay in a quit place away from touristy areas with traffic and parking problems but still be able to take day trips to all the best sightseeing spots in Tuscany.
The hotel has a very modern design and cool style but unfortunately is showing signs of neglect on maintenance (mostly cosmetic around showers and pool areas) not a big deal considering the price range but just an observation.
We would absolutely stay there again.

Good deal for the price

It is not easy to get to this hotel. Our GPS could not find it and we had to call them for assistance. Before going take a look at the directions on their website and if you want to use your GPS find the hotel latitude/longitude.

When we were there the hotel was under renovations so the hall and common areas were a little dusty. The staff is very friendly and they speak good English.

The breakfast is good. The dining area is large and well lit.

The room is large but the furniture quality is not the best. It looks better in the pictures.

Good hotel

Located 15 min driving from the city walls of Siena, but easy to find. Must have a car. There's a excellent coffee break, the best I saw during my trip in Italy. From the balcony you can enjoy the tuscan landscapes. Overall the price is very reasonable. Recomended.

bad finish, cramped room, helpful staff

staff was great. we had 3 in a room and it was not worth the extra money we paid. they just had a very small uncomfortable fold out for the 3rd person to sleep on and there was very little room for 3 people plus luggage to fit in that room and still move around.

Christiana and Nico (hotel staff) went above and beyond to help us in our travels. The entire staff was courteous and very helpfull. The stay at the hotel was amazing and the views of the countryside outside the hotel were breath taking. All A + ratings for the entire experience.

to long distance to everything

The location was hard to find and you could not find any restaurants in the near. The hotel restaurant was indoor and not very exciting and also expensive.
The closest little village had no restaurants, pizza bars, trattories. There was a supermarket 10 min. drive from the hotel.

Montaperti Hotel in Italy - close to Siena

We enjoyed our stay at the Montaperti Hotel. Very close to Siena about 10-15 min drive. Located in a very nice and quiet neighborhood. Especially enjoyed the pool during the hot afternoons in Siena.

A real hidden gem

This is a great hotel for exploring the surrounding areas of Siena and Chianti. It is in the middle of nowhere and as a very relaxed atmosphere. You need to have a rented car, but for us it was perfect. The rooms were large, staff friendly and breakfasts were great. I would definitely recommend this hotel for a few days stay as part of a road trip around Tuscany

Montaparti Hotel in Italy - close to Siena

Driving a car is the best way how to get to the hotel, but they have a local bus stop in front of the hotel to ride a bus to Siena.

it was very easy to get to hotel. the hotel is close to high way , but in quite neiborhood.Staff is really helpfull. The only problem was that there isn't any restorant besides of the hotel's restorant and it's very expensive.

Worth the trip

Really nice stay in this hotel; people are really nice and standard are very good. Very nice to enjoy the swimming pool and breakfast.
We enjoyed it as it is ideally located to visit chianti and sienna.
