屋上にある温泉からの山の眺めが最高でした。朝食も地元の食材を豊富に使ったビュッフェが良かったです。立地も古い街並みから近く、また静かな場所にあり便利でした。エアコン設備が古いせいか、室温調整がうまくできないのがちょっと残念でした。弱風にしても、温度高めに設定しても寒かったです。

Wonderful stay at Hida Hotel Plaza

It was a great stay with my family at the hotel. The staff were polite and helpful, the rooms were clean and well maintained. Both Japanese and Western breakfast that came with the rooms were of high quality and variety. The location was convenient. We will consider staying at the same hotel again if we come back to the same area.

Nice hotel with onsen. Has shops inside which closes at 9:30pm. It is about 10 mins walk to old town. Hotel itself has lots to eat. Breakfast was good with lots of selections.

Ugly cheaply fitted bathroom, the hardest beds ive slept on on my trip, minimal power points for ph charging, overpriced and repetitive breakfast day after day. Would not recommend.

Amazing hotel for an amazing town. Very close to station. Beautiful Japanese style suite with all amenities. The staff were extremely helpful. The onsen innthe hotel was great, indoors and outdoors. Breakfast buffet fantastic. The shops in the hotel were very good and convenient.

Japanese style room was very large for family of 4. Had separate sleeping tatami area and tea area. Room was very warm quick was great as it got quite cold overnight. Rooftop jacuzzi we bring nice. There are also individual soaking tubs if you'd like more privacy.

Very friendly staff. Manager provided pertinent advice about the weather so that we could better protect ourselves against the elements. The outdoor onsen was very nice; especially when it was snowing. The Japanese-style room was spacious and the futons very comfortable, luring us to deep slumber very quickly.

About 4 mins walk from the train station. Room was çlean and toilet/bathroom quite çlassy. The usual toiletries including hair dryer are provided. There is an electric kettle for boiling water..
It rained during the night till 8am the next morning. The only grouse I had was when I was checking out, it was wet outside. I asked the staff if they provide transport to the train station if it is raining. He replied they don't and asked if I needed a taxi. The 1 min ride would have been a plus point for the hotel's service under such weather conditions.

Staff were great and very helpful.
Air conditioner was working great and rooms were nice and cool to come back to after hot day exploring Takayama.
However the rooms are dated and bed is too hard. Hotel needs an update.

Very helpful staff

The Japanese style room was spacious and comfortable. A hotel staff who could speak mandarin, took time to explain to us the different facilities in the hotel during check in. Also, the front desk staff was very helpful. I needed to make a reservation for a restaurant in Tokyo. Despite the language barrier, she was very patient. Finally, the chinese speaking staff spotted me and came to assist without delay. With this kind of service attitude, I will surely recommend this hotel to anyone.

Wonderful stay at Hida Hotel Plaza

Nice hotel with beautiful view of the snowy mountain. Great service, clean and comfortable room. The hotel has a few restaurants, including a Chinese restaurant if one has enough of Japanese food:) a good 10 minutes walk to the Takayama train station and Nohi Bus Terminal for buses to Shirakawa-go, Shinhotaka Ropeway. Overall a great stay. Highly recommend.

Hotel with 2 onsen baths and good facilities

Hotel has 2 onsen baths. One in the basement and one at the rooftop which includes an open air Jacuzzi which is fantastic if you like to soak in the open.
The also have a restaurant and a few gift shops. However room is slightly too warm and unable to change the temperature even though we tried to adjust the thermostat. Slightly far from the JR station if you don't drive.

Booked a Japanese style room for 3 nights for family of 4. The room was very spacious, clean and comfortable. Very nice experience with the hotel onsen. The only problem is the breaskfast closed too early at 9am. Missed the first day of breakfast as we cannot make it on time and even the following day my children wouldn’t want to wake up for the breakfast as they were too tired.

About 5 minutes walk to the train station and bus terminal. Logistically convenient to move around Takayama by foot. Room is impeccably clean, staff polite. Efficient check-in and check-out process. Use of onsen in the hotel is complimemtary but need to pay onsen tax of ¥150 per person regardless of whether you make use of this facility. The only complaint is their pillows - just don't expect the usual soft and fluffy kind.

A decent hotel stuck in the 70s

The hotel offers a rather comfortable room and also an impressive serving of breakfast buffet. The hotel is centrally located, less than ten minutes walk from Takayama train station. The problem is the staff, while friendly, speak very little English. The day when the weather turned cold, the heat came on at full force, and one cannot control the thermostat in the room. We we're told to turn the heat off and open the windows if it was too hot. (!!!)

Lovely hotel near Takayama Station

We stayed here for 2 nights & were very pleased. The hotel is within easy walking distance of the station. Reception staff friendly & helpful. Very nice lobby area. Room clean with lovely view. Free wifi. Good choice of Western breakfast. We ate in the hotel restaurant both nights as it was too cold to go out into town. Food very good. Service slow on first night but very quick on second night as we were the only ones there! Hotel is recommended.

Close to JR station was the best thing. Staff was very courteous. Room was very stuffy so we had to keep the windows slightly open during our stay. The bed was very soft and the sheets barely fit the bed. The rooms need updating. Very few restaurants nearby. The most annoying thing is we were issued physical metal key(only one) which we had to lock before leaving the room because door not self locking.

This was the most expensive hotel ($AU 310 per night) we stayed in during our trip but the room was at least twice the size of the other hotels visited and easily the most luxurious. It is an easy walk from the railway station and many restaurants were nearby. Three onset public baths were available in the hotel.

An excellent hotel

This is a very good hotel which is near the station and a short walk to most of the sights. They have their own onsen (baths) as well as several restaurants. Public areas are attractive and have plenty of seating. Bedrooms are larger than usual for Japan and they are spotless and have free wifi as well as comfortable beds. The hotel is child friendly and it was therefore a shame not to give such a good hotel a 5 star rating - because of the 1000¥ charge for residents to use the swimming pool. In all other respects, we thought the hotel was excellent.

Lovely hotel

Enjoyed this hotel. It was the only hotel in Japan that let us check in early. I've read other reviews saying it is in need of renovation. We stayed in the South wing which was newer. Not modern, but clean, comfortable and lots of character. Our twin room was spacious and had a large separate bathroom. Good shops in the foyer. Staff helpful. Breakfast could be improved, otherwise I really loved staying there.

Nice hotel, very good location , both from kyoto station and downtown. The hotel has an in house laundry self service, very reasonably priced. The big problem is with the air conditioning system. It is central, operated only by the front office and has only two options. Freezing or frying. We stayed in late April, and the temperature was 20 cel . If you turn it off, you choke, if you open the window, the noise outside is impossible

Our room was warm (28 degrees) as the centralized control was in Winter-mode - the warm air can be stopped coming out if you turned it off completely.

Notified about the hot spring surcharge at check-out even if we did not use any of the hot springs. Would be more appreciate if got notified at check-in first.

Large Tourist Hotel in Takayama

Large tourist hotel right off of Main Street in Takayama. Hotel itself and rooms are dated (early 90's), but clean and provide basic amenities. We stayed in a Japanese style room (our first time) and were extremely comfortable. The best part of the hotel is the onsen on the top floor of the hotel. Panoramic views, be sure to check out!

Takayama is a lovely place to explore the Japanese culture. We stayed in a Japanese style room for 2 nights as all the western style rooms were booked. On our 2nd night there 2 large bus loads of Chinese travellers arrived. The establishment needs new carpets and s fresh coat if paint. It is very tired looking.

It was very to easy navigate your way around. Excellent little shuttle bus to get around the city. Excellent coffee shop in Takayama near festival float museum. Hide folk village was an amazing place. The whole area is a must see.Hotel also had gift shops.

Quite interesting to have 2 onsen. . One is at level 9, with outdoor and indoor and another is at basement. ..

Only bad thing is terrible WiFi. Sometimes we can login n at times we got kicked out. It's so irritating for the WiFi

A decent walk to local tourism sites and to train.

The location was good for us, but if you prefer to be on the main tourism row, this hotel is a few blocks away. We didn't try it, but there's is a hot spring on the roof which I imagine had a wonderful view. It is easily walkable to the train. The hotel is clean but dated looking compared to modern hotels. Maybe this is normal in Japan. Regardless, it was clean.

Room furnishings looked outdated. Bathroom only had trickle cold water, so once hot water was flowing, water was burning hot to use. No AC was available during our stay, and the room temperature got up to 28 degrees C (even with open window).

Good location close to train station, good value, and high marks for giving us a morning check-in for no additional cost. The room was big and comfortable.
While not luxurious it was a good value, and the complimentary buffet breakfast was very good. For a one-night two-day stay in Takayama, this met all of our needs and was a good value.

Takayama is a charming town and the hotel was an easy walk away. There are plenty of restaurants close by and the station is a five minute walk. The room itself was a nice size and very comfortable. I would stay here again.

The staff are very attentive. It is located 15 minutes walk from the old area and temples as well as the station. We stayed in a Japanese style room. The room was smallish, but fit our rolled out futon beds and still gave us room to move comfortably about.

The hotel is within walking distance to the train station and the center of the town. The room is very spacious and comfortable. Considering the room size, the bathroom could be bigger. The bathroom counter, mirror and shower head are so low that it is only built for short people. However the hotel service is good. I had no communication problem with the staff at the front desk. Overall I recommend this hotel.

This was our first time in Takayama. The hotel is relatively close to the train station...5 minute walking at Hawaii speed. The hotel is very clean and comfortable with rooms that are bigger than most Japanese hotels. The breakfast was very good, although the western food selection was relatively limited compared to the Japanese food selection. Our room did not come with breakfast, because the price differential ($60 per night) seemed too high. We purchased the breakfast buffet for 1,540 yen plus tax (around $13/person).

Very nice and big rooms. The staff is very accommodating. They will give you a full map of all the major shrines, temples, and other landmarks. Make sure you get a steak at one of the local restaurants, it is what the town is known for!
