Beautiful room, spacious and quiet. Staff is very friendly. They loan bikes to discover the town. The breakfast buffet was fantastic with a great variety of cheeses, meats, juices and cakes. Overall we had a great and comfortable stay.

Hotel was an easy 15 min walk from station and about the same into the historic center. Room was spacious with a balcony and good bathroom. Staff super welcoming. The breakfast had scrambled eggs and a variety of cheeses plus lots of sweets. Would recommend and stay again if in Ferrara.

It was more of an old hotel than antique ( things were worn like the carpet and furniture) could probably use some updating and it needs AC control for each room! It was 85 degrees for 3 days and they said the AC will begin next week. The TV is tiny for the size of the room but the make up vanity was a plus. The bed cushions and throws could be softer and balcony furniture definitely needs to be improved. It’s too noisy to leave the door open for fresh air so my nights we uncomfortably hot! II liked the location for walking and the hotel has complimentary bikes to get around! The staff was extremely accommodating and pleasant. I was given good directions and restaurant suggestions. I also received information for Bus and Fly from the reception and that saved me over €100 to get to the airport!! The breakfast croissants were yummy with a cappuccino to start my days! I liked that the area was local with a bar and supermarket. A bigger fridge would have been ideal to keep my own charcuterie, cheese and wine!! After all it’s Italy!!

Have mixed feelings about this hotel, reception staff AMAZING, couldn’t do enough for you. Bed comfortable and nice bedding. Breakfast mostly good with adequate choices. Lovely little bar. Overall hotel needs money spending on it. Definitely not a 4 star. Hotel, dated (I understand it’s a traditional hotel) Furniture broken and falling apart in our room. Heater old & broken. Not enough sockets. Heated towel rail not working. Shower old, a little dirty and flimsy. Wifi bad! Saying all this we found the hotel rather charming! 🤔

We seriously don’t know when this 4 stars were given, perhaps 30 years ago and has not been checked ever since.
While the front desk staff was nice, the rest was all pretty 1 star (not that I have ever stay at one). Just pretty bad.
The whole place felt like stuck in a few decades ago, many broken parts needed to be fixed.
That low-cost hotel smell just extremely unpleasant. Located inside of a rundown commercial building… all of all, rather sad.
A huge painting was full of big holes, wall trim was damaged, roof top seemed to be abandoned… Sorry to my time there and sorry to my pocket. I recommend the owner to close down this location. Seriously.

Hotel location good to walk into city centre but the hotel style a bit confused and dated, so really needs a revamp!.. Rooms clean and spacious but beds not very comfortable because too soft for my liking. Breakfast quality was not very good.

This hotel is a real gem. Very close to the train station so commuting to Bologna or other towns in Emilia Romagna is not difficult. I stayed a week in October in a double room which was a large en suite. The staff are very friendly and helpful. There are city bikes available at the hotel. The breakfast was open buffet with a large selection of food. For me it was the best stay I had so far in Italy.

arrived at hotel, did not stay, Receptionist was accomodating, but hotel is situated over a shopping mall in a district which had much graffitti, and the car park strewn with litter, that did not feel safe. no restaurant but would call in pizza if required. nothing like the photos shown on the website. did not feel safe to leave car, so did not stay, despite paying for the night.

About a 15 minute walk from the historic centre of Ferrara, the Orologio Hotel is spacious and welcoming. On arrival we were a little surprised that the hotel is tucked away within a shopping precinct and we drove past at first but once we entered the hotel we were warmly greeted by the receptionist who spoke excellent English. Our room was nicely furnished, clean and comfortable. Some of the public areas look to be in need of refurbishment but nonetheless were clean and tidy. The buffet breakfast offered a very good choice - cereals, fruit, cheese, cold meats, pastries, etc. There is a private secure car park (10 Euros) but we left our car parked on the street and it was perfectly safe.
The hotel runs a shuttle service to and from the historic centre during the evenings but we decided to make the 15 minute walk and we felt perfectly safe walking in the area.

long walk to historical old town but ideal for parking (other hotels in old town have parking but the one way system makes getting to them difficult). The hotel is a bit tired and near busy road but set off it enough not to be noisy.

although it takes about 15 min walt to rach the limits of the historic city, you fill like deep in Suburbia - the neighbourhood is rather bleak, the hotel building and surroundings are rather unatractive. Nevertheless, the hotel itself is quite good. room is spatious, bathroom equipped with a wirlpool bath.

Not close to city centre (20 mins on foot) but supplies bikes so this was helpful. Fairly close to rail station (15 mins). Spacious rooms and good breakfasts). Air conditioning struggled when temps soared but extra fans available. Reception staff were brilliant always helpful.

Surprising hotel outside city walls

Hotel is located 10 minute walk to old city of Ferrara. It is located on the upper floors of a shopping strip. We were sure wee had the wrong location and were certainly skeptical when we arrived but the hotel is well appointed and spacious. The room and bath were nicely decorated with a generous supply of bath products. Breakfast is included and though not extensive is sufficient to get you off for the day. Staff is very helpful. They were more than willing to let us print our airline boarding passes.

Only down point being the TVs which are old and need replacing plus the channel options. Cash machines, chemist, supermarkets, cinema and restaurants within a few minutes walk. Recommended.

Lovely hotel

We only stayed one night at this lovely hotel. It is outside the city walls but an easy , pleasant walk or bike ride to the centrum. The staff was very helpful. The room was spacious, clean, and well furnished. Good bathroom which included a full bathtub.

Breakfast buffet which was excellent was included with the room.

I would recommend this hotel and would stay here again.

Good for business travelers. I was on the way to Venice from Cinque Terre but was too tired for another hour drive so I stayed in this hotel for a night. It was a very comfortable stay but by 9pm while I went out for dinner and found all business were closed. The breakfast buffet were plentlful and I found that I was the only person enjoying the breakfast and relax while all others were in a rush so I guess I was the only person there on vacation.

Good for access to the university, ok hotel

The hotel is on the edge of town within an unassuming block of shops. It is ideal for the meetings at U. Ferrara (10 mins walk) and there are a couple of local shops (Lidl) should you need anything. The town is a bit of a hike 20-30 mins. The town is quite pretty (unfortunately it rained) and the local dishes are refreshingly different. The hotel room was fine but the bidet plumbing needed maintenance. The staff speak good English and provided many towels to mop up the mess. The hotel has a bar and breakfast room but no restaurant but there were some reasonable restaurants within walking distance, including a boat that sold pizza by the acre. There was a tv and you could get BBC news. Good internet connection but not much of a view. `The hotel was fine for my needs.

A great little hotel with easy parking, shops etc

This was a new hotel for me and the decider was the ease of access, parking availability and nearby shops, resturants and within 10 minute walk; downtown Ferrara. Staff were extremly helpful and friendly and all in perfect english (Thank You!). Room was large and very clean. Room to work and WIFI was great too. Only downside for me was the usual lack of English TV channels other than news. Almost forgot the excellent breakfast. I'll be back soon.

Went to Ferrara to visit my daughter. Found this hotel by chance. Not far from town centre and in nice neighbourhood. The room was adequate but it only had shower facilities. A bath would have been great as seeing Ferrara involves alot of walking and cycling ( free bike hire from hotel) snd a nice soak in the evening would have been great. Breakfast was plentiful and varied but the fried bacon, sausages and scrambled eggs leaves a lot to be desired. The staff were wonderful and friendly and this made up for any shortfalls. Would go back again but will insists on a room with a bath!

I would stay in this hot again.

Ferrara is fabulous and well worth the visit. We were there during the local busker festival. Really buzzy atmosphere and very few tourists!

Looks aren't everything!

Although the hotel is a little awkward to find in a small shopping complex and looks a little tired, the staff on reception couldn't have been more helpful. Our room was very nice, spacious with a large double bed, a good clean bathroom with all the necessities. We had a balcony, although the view wasn't fantastic but we were only staying one night! They have bicycles which can be borrowed (FOC!) for a trip into Ferrara, which is well adapted for cyclists and is a beautiful old city. Breakfast was a well stocked buffet and was included. We were on business so did not have time for sight seeing, but will be going back to use the bikes! All in all, a good hotel for visiting the area of Ferrara, well situated and lovely staff.

Comfortable stop-over or business hotel

Take it for what it is - a stopover or base for business, and you'll be happy. Location lets it down but facilities good and staff very friendly. Room was suprisingly nice. This is NOT a resort hotel! 1km to old centre but we drove - a number of public carparks at reasonable prices. Ferrara itself a dissapointment for us.

Hotel in zona relativamente periferica; comunque in 15-20’ a piedi si era in centro (se no bus - l’hotel forniva alcuni biglietti- o bici dell’hotel); camere semplici, ma pulite e spaziose; pochissime dotazioni: in particolare acqua prevista solo a pagamento. Personale gentile; colazione molto varia e buona. Personalmente, avendo segnalato che era il mio compleanno (a volte in altri hotel l’hanno visto dai documenti!) mi è sembrato strano che non arrivasse alcun pensiero, come successo in altre strutture.

Camera spaziosa e pulita. Purtroppo il bagno mal disposto in quanto l'accesso alla vasca/doccia un po' sacrificato, praticamente attacca al lavandino e al water. Porta carta igienica posizionato in modo da dare fastidio all'accesso al bidet. Scarico dello sciacquone difettoso, perd acqua.Presenza di formiche in bagno!
La presenza di moquette nella hall , nell'ascensore e nei corridoi appesantisce l'arredamento e almeno a mio parere è un ricettacolo di polvere.Colazione a buffet abbondante ma si qualità media. Non sembra un albergo a quattro stelle

All’orologio, le formiche “non vedono l’ora”!

Camera e bagno spaziosi ma… invasi dalle formiche. Camera tripla richiesta con letto matrimoniale più letto singolo: ci siamo ritrovati con 3 singoli… alla reception hanno accampato solo scuse ed addirittura ci hanno accusato di aver mangiato in camera. Da un quattro stelle mi aspetto molto, molto, molto di più.

Buona colazione con discreta offerta salato e dolce. Personale molto cortese. Biciclette, se disponibili, ad uso gratuito. Buon rapporto qualità/prezzo. Arredamento non nuovo, soprattutto nella zona reception, ma camere spaziose. L'hotel richiederebbe un po' di ammodernamento, ma la gentilezza del personale compensa ampiamente.
