Unpleasant experience

From the moment we arrived, the receptionist was unpleasant and made us feel as though we were inconveniencing her. She asked for the names under which we had booked our two single rooms, then claimed she had no record of our reservations—all in a condescending, dismissive tone.

I explained that I had booked on February 5th through Hotels.com and showed her my confirmation email. She told me to wait while she started up her computer. I could see our names on her screen from where I stood, yet she continued to insist she couldn’t find our reservation. When I finally pointed out that I could see our names, she admitted she didn’t know what had happened and said only one room was available. She never offered an apology and maintained her superior attitude the entire time.

I understand mistakes can happen—nobody’s perfect. However, I cannot accept being treated so poorly, especially when the error was not mine.

Fabulous gem of a hotel. Friendly staff who made us feel so welcome and could do enough to help, superb breakfast with so much choice, and comfortable, super clean, quiet rooms. Add to that the fact that it’s in a superb location, less than a minute’s walk to the Castello Estense and the main square. Definitely recommended.

The staff were very professional, friendly and helpful. A very nice breakfast was included. Coming off the highway, it seemed somewhat industrial, but once we arrived at the hotel and started exploring the town- it turned out to be very charming. We would highly recommend this hotel.

Nice small family run hotel right in the heart of Ferrara near everything you want to see as well as some very good restaurants all within walking distance. The Castle is literally right around the corner. Great place and neighborhood to stay in. We would definitely go back here.

The hotel is right in the centre of town, opposite the Castle.
It has all the comforts and rooms are quite updated.
There is also a mini-bar with decent prices (1euro a little bottle of water in comparison to 3euros at NH).
When i arrived for checking, I was welcomed by the scent of home cooked cakes which I then found the following morning for breakfast: the owners are really helpful and kind.
Really recommend this hotel.

The Location is excellent, very close to the Castle of Estensi, easy to walk around, if you want to make shopping, near the bus station, etc. There is a lot of bars, restaurants, pizzeria, etc around the hotel.
Service is excellent. an exquisite breakfast, fresh and tasty.

Gorgeous hotel in great location

My stay here was so restful! The hotel is in a beautiful old building with vintage furniture to match. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet contained a good variety of food. The location couldn't be better, twenty minutes' walk from the station (and on bus route 6 - buy a ticket from he train station), literally around the corner from Castello Estense (€14) and only minutes from the cathedral and lots of shops and bars. It's also not far from the Biblioteca Ariostea (free) and the Archeological Museum (€6). Highly recommended.

Delightful, helpful and obliging hosts with some printing we needed. Room very clean and comfortable, although bed and pillows rather firm. Location fantastic for enjoying sites of Ferrara as SO close to everything, Character hotel, old world charm with art work everywhere and delightful music. Breakfast excellent with cake, croissants etc, but also yoghurt, fresh fruit salad and juice, cereals muesli dried fruits, eggs,cheeses,meats,cherry tomatoes etc...delightful. Many thanks.

The hotel was very clean, and featured original art through. The place felt like a boutique hotel. Complimentary breakfast was the best we had in 2 weeks of travel through Italy. Fantastic location; you're really close to the castle, but it's very quiet and allow a good night rest.

A modest size extremely friendly hotel, very well located in the middle of Ferrara but in a quiet side street. The receptionist wrote on the map with high precision the position of three restaurants and the Ca' d'Frara was excellent. The service at breakfast was done with great charm.

This is a welcoming hotel. Although I arrived a little early, I was able to book in and use my room. All staff were pleasant and most efficient. There is interesting artwork displayed on the walls, which makes it much more of an individual place. There is a lift. The breakfast was superb, taken in a lovely high-ceilinged breakfast room. Despite being located right in the centre of Ferarra, only a minute away from the castle, the hotel is quietly situated. You could not find a more convenient location. There are buses from the train station, or you can walk in under 30 minutes.

Wonderful hotel close to the Castle and walking distance to the train station and all sites. The main square in minutes away. The hotel is located on a quiet street so minimal noise (if any at all). The hotel staff is extremely helpful. This family run hotel is clean, has a great breakfast and made my time in Ferrara wonderful. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others and will return someday.

Very nice hotel next to the castle in this lovely town. Had a very nice room with a private terrace, spotlessly clean and wonderfully helpful staff/owners. Nice breakfast and everything is on your doorstep. Staff booked us in to a car park upon arrival and we paid at the end of our stay. Would recommend this hotel and its staff to anyone and have to add its great value for money

Lovely hotel in a perfect location

We enjoyed our short stay in this friendly and nice small hotel in the historic centre of the Ferrara.
The location is could not be better if you want to discover that amazing renaissance city. The hotel offers reserved parking places in the nearby, where we could leave safe our car.
The room was stylish and clean, equipped with everything what we need ( air conditioning, mini bar, WiFi, etc.) and we could relax very well in the comfortable bed. The breakfast was excellent, and last but not least the staff were friendly and helpful. Next time we come for a longer stay and choose again Hotel de Prati.

Very nice hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. Upon arrival, you can park outside - with enough time to unload and checkin. We were quickly supplied with parking details, a map and printed tickets for a nearby car park that had security cameras. The car park fees (reasonable price) were pre-paid by the hotel and you were invoiced at the end of your stay - this we found very helpful. The Hotel was well situated, very near to the castle and the main attractions. We had the large top-floor suite for two days with an open rooftop terrace, so plenty of room for three adults, a mini bar was provided for our use and breakfast was included within the price. The hotel room (as other viewed areas) was extremely clean and although the Hotel was rated 3*, the overall experience was very positive and we would not hesitate to stay at the Hotel again should we revisit the area in the future.

Best pillows ever!

Hotel Pratt has possibly the best pillows in Italy! Also serves the best chocolate at breakfast! The castle in Ferrara is steps from the front door. The staff is incredibly helpful and kind and will suggests sights you haven'the considered. If you are a runner bring you shoes and run the wall!

Great small hotel in a renovated classic 15th century Ferrara building right across the street from the castle and two blocks from the duomo. The owners have art throughout. I was very happy to stay here for 2 nights. The staff were excellent and very very helpful. I needed some cardboard for the prints I bought and the lady at the reception sorted it all out. Unfortunately I can't remember her name but she was really lovely.
My room was clean, the bed was comfortable and the breakfast was nice. Thank you very much.

Beautiful decor, perfect location. Easy walk to train and bus stop and all attractions. At the center of everything, but on a quiet street. Spacious room with all amenities. We enjoyed the wonderful breakfast. Stayed 5 nights and didn't want to leave.

Very close to the historic old town of Ferrara

We had a very warm welcome at this hotel. The hotel is situated very close (across the road, really) to the Este castle and a short walk to the main piazza and the Duomo. Excellent breakfast with really good Parma ham and individually made coffees from a proper coffee machine. We were offered parking tickets for 3 Euro per day anywhere outside the pedestrianised old city - very convenient for us as in previous cities parking had been a nightmare! We booked for two nights and stayed longer as Ferrara has a lot to offer.

Sophisticated place to stay in Ferrara

We were greeted by a man who extended his hand and said \"I'm Antonio!\" A very warm welcome.
The hotel is very attractive with a wonderful variety of art on the walls and free standing sculptures.
At breakfast the next day, which was excellent, we were served by another friendly man. Subsequently we met him at the front desk and he explained that a number of members of the family run the hotel. It was originally a family house and then became a restaurant, then a restaurant with rooms and now B+B, all still in the same family. I hope I got that right!
The situation is excellent. It is in a quiet street in the Old Town but only a short walk to the centre.
We only had 2 nights there and I would like to have had longer

Good breakfast, although just standard Italian selection.
Plenty of local restaurants and cafes nearby for lunch and dinner. Osteria della Campana in neighbouring block recommended by hotel for dinner and it was an excellent meal sitting in outside courtyard. Other restaurant recommended, Ca'd Frara was further away and was disappointing.

Really liked the Hotel de Prati

This is a very nice hotel, extremely close to the main sites in Ferrara, with an extremely nice, helpful front desk .If you want \"slick\" this is not your place, but we found our room to be more than adequate (with an excellent bathroom as well), and the breakfast was positively lavish. We also enjoyed the local art, which is hung throughout the hotel, and the classical music at breakfast. We also REALLY appreciated the use of a small laptop supplied by the hotel, which we were told we could use at any time (and did). We would storngly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Ferrara.
