Great location with a bus stopping outside and fantastic sea views. The only thing that let the hotel down was the rooms. It was windy and the wind blew through the rooms, meaning most of our party couldn't sleep. Housekeeping was also poor with soap/shampoo etc, not being replaced and the incorrect number of towels being left.

Hotel is a little dated, quiet location. 20mins to old town. Staff very happy and accommodating. We had a Seaview room with an amazing view. We paid for the all inclusive package, buffet, lunch and dinners, we stayed 3 nights and every day the food was changed. Whilst it was a buffet the quality of food was great for a buffet. We enjoyed our brief stay, too many great staff to single anyone out.

Very nice hotel, majority of staff friendly and helpful, good rooms, amazing infinity pool. Beach area very tired and overlooked, needs new walkway, umbrellas and sunbeds, a total revamp. Main bar and evening area very open and if windy like a wind tunnel so can be quite chilly in the evenings, plus insufficient seating for the size of the hotel. Main restaurant not intimate, quite cafe feel rather than restaurant unless you manage to get seated in the slightly upper small middle section. Overall enjoyed our stay but lacking certain touches expected of a 5 star hotel.

Michelangelo is a stunning hotel with incredible views of the Aegean Sea with Turkey and other Greek islands on the horizon. Service was amazing and variety of food at the buffet was very good. The al a carte restaurants were good but didn’t wow us. It is a similar standard of food you get in the buffet (that may also show how good the food is). I would highly recommend this hotel to everyone.

The staff are great, the hotel is nicely maintained, the pools and beach area well maintained. We had an issue with the bed, which was supposed to be a King size bed, but was instead two twins side by side. Spoke with the staff about making a change to the mattress, but unfortunately were unsuccessful in making it happen. Once manager found out about the issue, he was very apologetic, and offered to move us, but as it was our last day, we decided to leave it alone. This was our second visit to the resort, the all inclusive aspect is very appealing, and the food is appealing and varied. Only other item I would mention is that they need a changing room at the beach to accommodate those who need to change their wet swimwear, without leaving the beach.

See previous review I made. Due to airline issues, we had to book a night earlier but booked it separately. Essentially, great place, pool is worth it, views amazing. However, leaving the property can be difficult, the bus doesn’t run on some days and has limited hours others, WiFi in rooms isn’t always reliable (depends on the room), and don’t expect to get small change there for tipping. No one wants anything to do with large bills you get from an ATM but you will need to cash for transport so it’s a catch 22

Overall, it’s a nice place. Resort is great if you don’t intend to leave often and don’t mind accessing WiFi in public spaces (no zoom work meetings). I’d recommend it but better plan it around the bus schedule and look into renting a vehicle or moped

This is a perfect property for people who don’t intend to leave the resort or only go Kos town via the bus which has regular hours M-F, shortened hours on Sat, and no hours on Sunday. However, if you are the type that likes to explore, you’ll likely find that difficult here. Taxis are expensive and don’t like to take cards meaning you’ll need a lot of pocket change to travel around. The biggest issue was the inability to get smaller bills. We wanted to tip ppl but found ourselves stuck with larger bills of 10s, 20s, and 50s but no one would break them so we often couldn’t tip. We tended to tip our bartenders once a day of 10 and even once a 20 as a last resort. This is the biggest issue. Of course, you don’t need to tip but it feels wrong not to leave a euro or 2…except when you don’t have it.

Overall, the resort is lovely with a wonderful staff! It’s just far from town, expensive to get taxis, and has no ability to break larger bills. Also, some of the rooms don’t have great WiFi so if you’re traveling Europe and relying on WiFi for phone connection, you’ll spend a fair amount of time in the lobby. Lastly, better rooms seem to be reserved for ppl who are booking longer stays

All inclusive is definitely worth it..
Room were cleaned everyday free bottles of water…entertainment in the evening all meals had a dish for all, not friendly for people who have disabilities walking very hilly ,lots of stairs

For a 5 star rating, i was disappointed. The lack of quality overall from food, drinks and service was very poor. The staff seemed stressed always rushing around and no time to take care of the guests needs. Every breakfast, lunch and dinner, everyone struggled to get a table that was prepared for eating. It was either dirty or not set up. No direction where to sit.

Once seated, they would walk past numerous times ignoring any requests.

The sunbeds, there are signs posted, to prevent guests reserving them with towels but no one checks and it happens all the time.

The Concierge was very unhelpful, as was the front desk, you felt like you were bothering them.

I will not recommended this hotel and i wont be going back.

Impressive views, drinks and hospitality

An incredibly pleasant stay, with great and friendly waiters and bar staff. The room was incredible and had amazing views with a spacious balcony.

The food was lovely and had a great variety. Only comment would be that if you're allergic to ingredients it may be difficult to eat in the buffet due to the potential mixing of cutlery and plates. However, we didn't have an issue with this.

The pool area was amazing, with impressionable views and a wide variety of drinks that were served regularly. The beach bar was also lovely, out of the way and a nice place to relax with a sun bed and the sound of the ocean.

Couldn't have really been improved upon and the staff clearly all work incredibly hard to ensure the vacationers have an outstanding stay.

The best part of this hotel for me was the beach that was adjacent to the property -- the water was so clear and the view of Turkey was really spellbinding. The resort itself was overcrowded, esp the deck chairs near the infinity pool, the all you can eat was a bit of a mess and was most disappointed in needing an advanced reservation to dine in the restaurants onsite.

The property was excellent, very open and designed to allow you to enjoy being outside. The staff were very accommodating as well, and the main buffet had selections that were varied for most tastes. The all inclusive selection was worth the expense, as there were few items that required extra fees. They have many pools, and a private beach area. The beach is not sandy, but small stones, but they are not hard to walk on. I would suggest “aqua socks” if you plan on using the beach. The water is very clean, and they have a beachside bar, as the beach is down the hill from the main hotel, which is a little walk. The only downside at the beach is that there is no “changing room” to change out of your wet swim wear. All in all we would go back, and enjoy this beautiful property again.

Had to book into another hotel for last two days because it was so poor.
No WiFi for majority of stay.
Drinks were being served hot, when we asked for ice we was told that you had no ice
Power-cuts for majority of stay, could not charge phones, no aircon in room, no fridge for water and antibiotics which needed to be kept in fridge for ill partner. I am also pregnant so no aircon in heat was very dangerous.
Food was extremely basic
No air-con for majority of time in the main restaurant which made us feel sick whilst eating
Partner had food poisoning from hotel for one week and they were very unhelpful with taxis to the hospital/doctor - precooked a taxi for the following day and was just told they would not be coming. No help or advice from staff and was just told we had to get the bus, when my partner was severely ill and I am pregnant
Forced to pay a personal ten euros in cash to a hotel cleaner for her to change our bed as my partner was severely ill and was sweating in the bed for three nights

The only decent thing about hotel is the infinity pool but it was like a zoo there and struggle to get beds unless you rush down at 7am to fight for a bed!

Great resort. We booked it when we landed in Kos as we weren’t sure we’d get there as our flight had been cancelled a few times.
It was the first week end flights were allowed from the UK.
The staff are very friendly and the room was pleasant. The pool ready aurano very good for lunch.
I have been to many resorts over the years and I must say that this one has the most spectacular pool I have ever seen. The view over to Turkey is amazing. Especially at the end of the day.

Covid holiday in baking Kos

A wonderful hotel. Amazing infinity pool. Modern rooms and on the whole friendly staff.
Due to Covid the restrictions imposed have an impact on the buffet restaurant as it is no longer self service so causes queues and some waiting for drinks etc. The staff are so busy. More staff would help but that would put the very reasonable price up.
The other impact of Covid is the social distancing around the pool, therefore less sun beds so not enough for everyone.
The food was good for buffet, I just wish there had been more choices for fussy eating 4 year olds. Kids were not really catered for.
That said I highly recommend the hotel and I can imagine in normal times there would be no gripes. I would definitely go back there.

Lovely hotel, nice quiet location. Very relaxing.
The food is brilliant. Puddings are amazing. Breakfast was also the best selection we've ever had. Drinks and cocktail selection great.
I can't believe people commented saying they couldn't find anything to eat.....
We were all inclusive, which was great as it was easy, lots of choice and really tasty. Every night (and lunch) was different, which we didn't expect. Previous AI have been the same standard food each day.

Infinity pool is beautiful. Plenty of sun beds. However, we preferred the beach. It was relaxed, quiet, the bar was AI too.

All the staff in the hotel were nice, helpful and entertaining.

Easy to get a bus to Kos town and Thermas via the bus - 15 mins. You can get tickets from the hotel shop - perfect.
We walked back from the Thermas, it took about 35/40mins.

Evening Entertainment, hit and miss e.g Belly dancing and Greek night great fun. DJ odd choice for this hotel.

Things not quite right.
Towels, a bit frayed, both pool and in our room.
They seemed to reduce our room toiletries as the week went on - weird.
Toilet doors in the main reception don't lock. For a 5 star hotel this doesn't feel acceptable.
Pool near main bar sunbeds were mostly broken.
Food by the infinity pool could be better. Snacks eg chips and burgers not included = strange and you have to eat at the pool buffet which isn't as good as the main restaurant.
All things which feel like they could be fixed to bring up the standard.

Only 4 star rating from us - Pleasing location, food good. Staff friendly although hotel lacked staff numbers in some areas. Had to ask for additional room items most days as these were not replenished. Only breakfast tea bags available in room and when asked to replace these with green tea bags the hotel did not deliver. Towels very poor quality. Spa day use 12EU expensive for what was on offer - could be much improved in terms of improved water temperature and offering half day facilities/availability.

I have stayed in a number of hotels round the world and understand that the quality of a 5 star hotel differs depending on the country you stay in. This hotel has obviously qualified as a five star because of the facilities it offers. Unfortunately the quality of the facilities are not taken into account when this star rating has been given. The best thing about this hotel is the infinity pool which is a little cold so unless you do a few lengths you cant stay in for long. The room is basic for a 5 star and could have been cleaner but the air conditioning was effective. The food in the restaurant was not a great quality but they did serve different food each night. Our welcome to the hotel was cold. The receptionist was brief and could not even greet us with a smile. Most things in the hotel gave it a cheap feel, like the towels, cutlery, glasses, etc. We spent quite a lot on our holiday so were really looking forward to a luxury holiday. Unfortunately we were disappointed. Some of the staff were very nice but I did not feel a 5 star service was offer at any point. This hotel should be a 4 star at the most, qualifying facilities or not. The name of the hotel has spa in it but when I went to visit the spa it was completely empty of guest but there were several staff standing together talking. I believe the €12 per day charge meant that the spa was not considered by most guests. Finally I would recommend booking breakfast only if you decide to stay at this hotel.

This review is in light of the 5* standard the hotel is advertised at.

Positives:
-The infinity swimming pool is stunning and is very well designed with the sea backdrop.
-The views are spectacular, with multiple vantages around the site.
-Staff were very friendly and went out of their way to make sure you were having a good time. i.e. Providing watermelon at the poolside, sandwiches waiting for us during late night check in.
- Poolside champagne breakfast is available on one morning during the stay.
- Neat pebble beach at foot of the cliff is free and easy to access.
- Regular bus service to town (15 min journey)

Negatives:
- The rooms are not 5*, they are 3* at best. With dated decor and tired bathroom. The shower was very poor and the towels were thin and frayed. Hairdryer is a terrible wall mounted one. Had to ask for a separate unit at reception.
- Upon arrival there were stains on the pillows and duvet. This took a couple of days to resolve.
- Food is hit and miss. Some very nice dishes and others unpalatable (too salty, dry etc). There was a lot of variety of food across the week
- Hotel is at the furthest end of island. So area is quiet and there is not much entertainment. This is true for the hotel-provided entertainment, which is severely limited in the evenings.

Overall, we recommend the hotel. The staff were great. It is clear the focus is on the pool and surroundings. With a little effort on the rooms this truly would be a rounded 5* experience

Beautiful Hotel, Excellent Quality Food & Service

A great hotel in a good location with the bus to town stopping literally outside the hotel door, and taking only 15mins (max) to Kos Town, very cheap too at only €4 return!!

Every meal we had at the hotel was brilliant, not one bad meal!! I find this very commendable for an All Inclusive Hotel, as usually the food is mostly average at best, but not here!! The Mediterraneo A La Carte Restaurant was outstanding too, well worth a visit!

Lastly, the beach!! The beach is fantastic, not sand mostly rocks, pebbles and shingle, but the location and way they’ve designed the bar and seating area is bliss! This MADE our holiday! The girl behind the beach bar Lula was excellent and made the best Mojito’s I’ve ever had!!

We would definitely return!

For 250 pounds per night, it could be better.

Staff generally is professional and friendly, but a couple of the restaurant waiting staff are rather rude - don't really care. Room is quite small - view is good if you stay at the front or upper floor. Pool is nice. Not much going on for family with kids. There appear to be some structural damage to the building we stayed in - a very obvious crack running from top of the building all the way to the bottom - has been repainted but clearly it's not a patch-up job!

Very clean. Staff very helpful. Breakfast had lots of choice. Fish night at the Mediterranean restaurant was very good. Bus stops right outside so easy to get to Kos Town. Staff also recommended places to eat in the town. Hotel will also organise taxi to and from airport if required. Nothing is too much trouble for them.

On arrival to the hotel there was a 6.9 earthquake . The staff were u helpful and gave us no information as to what to do in this situation I feel that as a country that is prone to these events they should have a plan of action in place . Other than the staff saying 'what do you want us to do we are not god ' we understand this but feel some direction of the best place for us to be would have helped ! Impersonal and definitely not value for money

During our two week holiday in the Dodecanese, we met many helpful, friendly islanders, few of whom work at this hotel. We were disappointed to be met by unfriendly reception staff and the management passed guests by without smile or even a hello - so different to the usual cheerful greetings received elsewhere.

Will not go back and certainly not recommend compared to many other alternatives available and much lower rates..

Gorgeous pool area; otherwise a huge miss.

Clean, comfortable experience. I do not recommend relying on the all-inclusive packages (or even half-board) as the cuisine leaves something to desire. Also, please make sure that you really listen to the hotel staff and make reservations at least 24 hours in advance of your stay in order to dine at Mediterranean (the non-buffet option). The pool is incredible; the rooms are straight up Prince circa 1999.

Lovely resort in an area not too close to the centre but just 10 mins by car. Go for a sea view room because the scenery is to die for. Hotel staff are amazing with champagne breakfast each morning and amazing food every time. The spa is lovely. Gym is small but still a bonus. I will definitely come here again.

Very impressed with everything!

As soon as we arrived (about 10:30pm) we were greeted with a friendly face, a lovely cold cocktail and cool flannel to refresh ourselves after a long day travelling. We were really impressed by the décor, facilities and layout of the hotel (very spacious). Our room was lovely and big (comfort room with sea view) and the bed was SO comfortable! Only niggle is that the shower was a bit weak and it was difficult to find the right temperature (i.e. not freezing cold or boiling hot). For a 5* hotel I'd have expected a strong power shower / rain fall shower to match the 5* quality of everything else at the hotel. The food at breakfast, lunch and dinner was very good, considering it was buffet style - as previous experience has meant mass catering = a decline in quality. The infinity pool is incredible, breathtaking views, comfy sunbeds. The beach was also lovely, although we only visited this once, it's nice and quiet and the sea was gorgeous (clear and warm). Overall we were very very happy with our stay from start to finish.

Holiday In Kos - August 2016

First time in Kos and the resort we stayed at was exceptional. The overall experience at the resort was excellent - from their hospitality, dining, fantastic views of the sea and beyond, kindness of their staff and the quality of the resort itself (architecturally). I would certainly recommend this resort to anyone planning to visit Kos. The city of Kos itself is not too far away so that is an added bonus and if you decide not to take a taxi, then you have regular buses that will pick you up directly outside the hotel. They have AC on the bus aswell! I would recommend you to use their spa treatments aswell - their massage treatment my wife and I had received was excellent.

The Infinity Pool & Swim Up Bar...Priceless

Had a really amazing time here. Buffet breakfast and dinner was included, free wifi and the best part of the hotel is of course the infinity pool and swim up bar. The only negative thing I have to say is that it was very confusing to find where the front reception was to check-in when we were driving there, the pool closes too early and my biggest complaint is when we went swimming in the morning they had no towels. We literally had to wait 30-40 minutes for towels...for a 5 star hotel this is not good and don't see how this could happen...are they short on towels...forgot to wash them the previous day?

A nice hotel in a remote location, away from the crowds. The hotel pool and beach coast are very wide and spacious, so you don't feel the other hotel guests too much. Food and drinks quality could improve, and the room require a bit renovation. Not sure about the normal weather but it was windy when we were there, so the water was a bit chilly.

Wonderful hotel, great staff, amazing views!

I cannot recommend this hotel enough. I stayed here with my partner in the first week of June and we really enjoyed our stay. We wanted a holiday where we could relax and enjoy the Greek sunshine, views, food and hospitality and we weren't disappointed! The welcome we received on arrival was just what we needed after a long day of travelling and the fact that the staff had put a snack in the fridge in our room because we had missed dinner was a lovely touch. The room was beautiful (Junior Suite with infinity pool and sea view), well furnished, clean and comfortable. Throughout our stay, the staff were friendly and helpful without being overbearing and the service offered at breakfast, lunch and dinner and at the pool bar was fantastic (the pool bar staff knew our order after about two days!) The infinity pool is beautiful and well-maintained, with particularly spectacular views when the sun is setting. The food was brilliant; for an all inclusive buffet style restaurant, the choice was great with plenty of different things to try. Great value for money when you are all inclusive! The entertainment on an evening is fun and the bar was lively without being too loud or disruptive. In all, we couldn't fault this hotel and would love to go back and stay there again.

Idyllic setting, comfort and luxury.

We were looking for a hotel that offered us the ideal setting to maximise relaxation and rest. The Hotel and it's staff, in particular the team in the spa provided exactly that.
We booked our holiday the last week of September and the first few days of October as prefer the cooler temperatures of late summer which still reached 28 - 30 degrees with an average evening / night temperature of 22. Perfect timing also for couples looking for a quieter holiday with the majority of children back at school.
The hotel has been very thoughtfully designed to provide a wide variety of settings to suit your mood on a day to day basis. The grounds are beautifully maintained with panoramic views overlooking the mainland of Turkey. The infinity pool really was a joy - fresh water and no sand! - Perfect!
Visitors can choose to eat in the main restaurant or at the tables set on the outdoor terrace, enjoy a drink at the side of the pools or in the undercover open air bar situated in the main building. One thing is assured you will be waited upon wherever you choose to locate yourself!
The choice of food offered in the buffet was excellent, varied, abundant, colourful, fresh and enticing and with an emphasis on Greek Cuisine.
Our room was clean, comfortable, sufficiently sized providing all the essentials with a balcony view onto the sea benefiting guests with the spectacular early morning sunrise.
Be sure to take full advantage of the spa and its facilities, the sauna, jacuzzi, steam room.

Hotel was lovely and clean. Staff were brilliant and nothing was too much trouble for them. But for this , in my opinion, to be a 5* hotel, the food was just average and could have been compared to a 4*. Bread was mainly stale and just not enough variety or choices of dishes.

Great hotel for a relaxing holiday.

For a relaxing break the hotel is the perfect choice. Our room (1725) was very clean and comfortable with an amazing view over the infinity pool. The main restaurant had a variety of good foods on offer. We recommend having breakfast in the Mediterraneo Restaurant which overlooks the infinity pool as the food and service were excellent. There were plenty of sun loungers and umbrellas around the pool areas. The staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful

Luxurious hotel with an incredible pool

We spent 9 nights at the Michelangelo Resort in August 2015 and had a lovely time. The pool is amazing and it is impossible to get bored of the view!

The standard of the food is really high. It is worth going all inclusive - cocktails were around €8 so you don't have to drink a lot for all inclusive to be the best option. The spa was amazing and we can recommend the massages.

The entertainment at the hotel was good - but it is a relaxing hotel which is what we were after. The resort is quite remote but there is a bus that goes from outside the hotel into the centre of Kos Town so went there for a couple of nights - we recommend a restaurant there called Taverna Alexandros which had delicious Greek food.

We can recommend this hotel!

This hotel really has a 5 star view and grounds, but would definitely not rate it a 5 star. During the check in process we felt very rushed, even though there was no one else waiting to check in. The complimentary drink was nice. In our room, which was nice (by no means 5 star), there was no iron, no slippers, no bath mats, no hair conditioner. Unacceptable, in my opinion. Although we received what was missing (except hair conditioner), we shouldn't have to ask for these things, especially on arrival day! (also never asked for an iron). The shower door only closes to the half point of the tub and the bathroom door doesn't close all the way--there's a 1\" gap all the way around. Very strange design. Bathroom essentials were very disappointing. Breakfast buffet was great with a lot of options. Dinner buffet was very lackluster. Mediterraneo restaurant was excellent (a la carte). Service from Stavros and Victoria was fantastic. The manager of the restaurant was very nice as well. The bartender at the pool, Akrivos, makes a great drink. The service staff at the pool could use quite the pep talk. I din't find them friendly or helpful in any way. I expect at a 5 star hotel to not have to chase a waiter/waitress down to give my order. Entertainment at the main bar in the evenings was really fun. Overall a very nice vacation, but not worthy of a 5 star.

just amazing couldn't fault it

arrived to a glass of sparkling wine each, quickly checked in then taken to our superior room by buggy.

shown around room, there was a bottle of wine and cake for our anniversary. the view over the infinity pool was amazing, I think they said it was 160 metres long. got changed and went for a drink at the pool bar service was exceptional, had to force our selves to go out because the service was that good. But went into koz town great day lots of bars /restaurants, then took the train around the city only 6 euros great value. Will definitely be back .

Stunning location. superb hotel, phenomenal views

We spent a week at this hotel and enjoyed every second of our stay. The friendliness of the staff was outstanding, they could not do enough for us. We were particularly impressed with their attention to detail, such as providing us with a complimentary bottle of wine and a cake in our room to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary during our stay. They also provided a cake on the night of our anniversary following our meal at the hotel. A special mention must be made to the pool bar staff - Akgivos, Tassos, Alkis, and Stelios who never failed to impress us. We will definitely be returning to the Michaelangelo hotel and would highly recommend to anyone looking for a first class hotel in Agios Fokas, Kos.

The hotel was lovely, a ten minute drive from Kos town centre. Clean, comfortable, the rooms were luxurious and there were lovely touches, such as welcome drink and hot towels. And in the rooms we had slippers, bath robes, free wifi and tea and coffee making facilities. Nothing was too much for the staff. It was a lovely stay. X

Nice hotel but not close to amenities

The hotel was nice, staff were lovely and friendly, food was good, pretty standard of an all inclusive, maybe not quite 5star but not far off. The pools were very cold but I am sure as the season goes on they will warm up. The rooms were pleasant but the shower area disappointing as the showerscreen was pointless and the floor would get soaked, not what you expect of this standard hotel but that said it is the only negative and we would certainly recommend it. Even though it was a Hotel & Spa it was very welcoming of out 2 year old and had a great children's area.

Superb views from the pool

The rooms are comfortable and very clean. Our balcony was over the restaurant roof, so wasn't that great, but we could still see the sea and could sunbathe there for almost the whole day. We came for the last two days before the hotel closed for the winter, so it was very quiet. I guess in high season it would be quite difficult to get to swim in the main pool due to the number of people - there doesn't seem to be enough pools for all the rooms. The grounds are also beautiful and there is access to the beach, which is beautiful to walk on and stretches for a long distance.

We enjoyed two nights at the Michelangelo Resort and Spa. Facilities on site are extensive with a feature being the large infinity pool and adjacent Mediterranean Restaurant. The hotel provides a holiday in itself, however the port of Kos is only fifteen minutes away for shopping and a visit to historical ruins.

Infinity pool with amazing views

Top hotel, huge infinity pool with amazing views out to the sea. We had a superior room which had partial but nevertheless great sea view. Premium rooms will give you uninterupted sea views but at a premium.

Entertainment was pretty average. Food pretty run of the mill for all inclusive buffets but had a wide selection so something for everyone.

€15 into Kos town which is worth a visit but to be honest we were just looking for a relaxing holiday and this hotel was perfect for that.

Temps in high twenties, has an amazing spa aswell if you can take yourself out of the sun for a while.

Has a beach but we were happy by the infinity pool.

Great value, we booked through expedia and got transfers via company reccommended by hotel - went like clockwork. About 45mins from airport.

Would recommend this very highly and the staff were fantastic!

If you go all inclusive you only get one free night at the med restaurant on the front, we just went to main restaurant the rest of the time.

Just unbelievable. Views from the hotel are amazing. Infinity pool overlooking the sea is just something else. Its a 10 minute bus ride into town but that makes it in a really quiet spot and just adds to the greatness of the hotel. Would recommend this hotel to absolutely anyone as it caters for all. On the whole, AMAZING!

Lovely hotel with amazing views of Turkey

Myself and my two daughters shared a comfort room with sea view. We had a double bed and sofa bed which was fine (as long as you like a hard bed!). View was spectacular from large balcony- Infinity pool, sea and the coastline of Turkey. Food in the buffet restaurant was very good indeed and varied every day (we were there for a week). Ate in the a la carte restaurant twice and food was good too - portions are very large though! The infinity pool was amazing - very large, immaculately clean lovely poolside service from the bar. Great club sandwiches at the pool bar. Only swam in the sea from the each once - pebbly beach, clean water, lots of sun beds. About a 5 minute walk down. We used the spa which is really peaceful and relaxing - pool, massage showers, sauna and steam room all free to all-inclusive guests. We had some treatments which we paid for and which were really good. There is a hairdresser and manicure place there too. There are lots of steps to get up and down from restaurant to rooms and pool, so not suitable for people who might find steps difficult. We needed a late checkout and couldn't find out if we could have it until the morning of departure, but we got it (for €100) and could have stayed until 10pm. Would definitely recommend this hotel. Staff are lovely, food good and facilities excellent.

Beautiful hotel, amazing features but has issues!

This is a stunning hotel without a doubt and on arrival you are welcomed with champagne etc. and taken to your room by golf buggy, your luggage completely taken care off and given a guided tour along the way however there are some big downsides to this hotel that let it down very badly! On first impressions you are very much wowed but then the issues set in, we had a severe ant infestation in our room that meant biting red ants were all over the main floor and bathroom, not good, our AC unit stopped working ( fixed eventually), and as for the shower what a total disgrace, no constant temperature either boiling or cold and the steady trickle that came from a lime scale clogged shower head was altogether pathetic. The infinity pool is totally amazing and the views out to Turkey are incredible, there is a beautiful swim up pool bar too but this is all let down by the fact you struggle to get a sun bed (yes it is Germans who expect to reserve a sun bed with a towel from dawn and casually arrive sometime after lunch and claim their bed) and the service at the bar is very slow, friendly but very slow as there is simply not enough staff for the number of guests. As mentioned above the main contingent is our German friends who are mostly all-inclusive and the staff quite obviously pay them more attention to us lesser mortals. Also don't expect to find a wine list at the bar as they don't have one due to our all-inc friends, this is only available in the restaurant. Shame really..

Great Location for a Relaxing Spa Stay

Travelled with children (7yrs & 11yrs). The hotel is very well run, clean with great food. We upgraded to AI on arrival which was worth it as non-stop drinks and ice creams would become expensive. We would have liked a bit more for the children to do. There was aqua aerobics 3 times a week and a tennis court, but that was it. The gym was small. Our suite was lovely with lots of room and a separate room for the children. We had a lovely big balcony and overlooked the infinity pool and out to sea. A very relaxing holiday, far away from Kos town and the food was very very good. The staff were incredibly efficient. Would definitely go back but if the hotel could do a bit more for teens, that would be even better. We were in room 1708.

Fantastic Hotel

Just returned from a very relaxing and enjoyable stay. The rooms are a good size and if you are lucky enough to get a pool/seaview room then the views are breathtaking. Only downside to the rooms are the slightly outdated showers. The pool is amazing... huge with great views and a well stocked bar (although the service is a little slow!) The choice in the restaurant is fantastic and should suit all tastes and a visit to the a la carte restaurant is a must... the views and food are spectacular. Would definitely return if in need of another great value, relaxing, sun filled week!

Beautiful Hotel but flawed

The hotel looks beautiful, but is let down in a number of areas. As the Michelangelo is on a hill, the beach is a long walk down a steep hill and is actually stony, not pebbly, with grey dusty sand. However we preferred it because you had the room to move the sunbeds round to follow the sun. That could not be done by the Infinity Pool because the sun beds were crammed in with a foot between each set. This meant that you could be in full sun all day, not good in the hottest part of the year which is when we stayed there. We also had a flooded room when we let the bath water out only to find it bubbling up from a vent in the bathroom floor. Customer services cleaned the room but advised us to \"let the bath water out slowly as it wasn't designed to cope with the flow of a bath emptying! Some of the changed towels and bed linen had tears in them, not good for a five star hotel. The hotel is also almost at the end of the road, with only Thermes before you hit the mountain wall, so there is little else to do there but stay in the hotel, or take the local bus into town (a 10 minute trip and a good service fortunately). We ended up hiring a car for four days to explore the island (highly recommended). This allowed us to see the beaches on the north of the island, which are much better and sandy and we spent a lot of time there. All in all, a very nice hotel, in the wrong place on the island and flawed in its detail.

Lovely Location

Hotel was great. Only downside was that it is a bit isolated. However there is a good bus service into Kos town ( about 15 mins) so if you want a change of surroundings, I recommend the bus.
We went B&B as that gave us the option of eating out. The evening meal in the hotel was nothing special and I would imagine becomes very samey if you are all inclusive.
The pool and rooms were great and we will go again.

What a Hotel!

Just got back from a blissful 4 days with my girlfriend at this hotel. Stunning Ocean Views, that compliments the 50 metre infinity pool perfectly. Friendly staff, clean rooms, good food. Also attracts friendly, polite and fun clientele. Firm believer in never going back anywhere I have been before, but would make an exception for this place. 1 thing though - bring trousers or you will not be able to eat dinner in the main hall :(.

Perfect relaxation spot

My wife and I travelled to Kos for 5 days, initially staying at the Michelangelo for 2 days. We lengthened this to all 5 days due to the lovely location, fantastic staff, relaxing setting and general welcoming vibe of both the hotel and guests.

I really couldn't fault the staff. Every member of the team from front reception staff, to housekeeping, to restaurant staff were all very friendly, professional and keen to assist you. The infinity pool was beautiful and we could have happily stayed for another few days. Getting into Kos town was very easy by local bus as well.

I would recommend whole heartedly for couples keen to have a relaxing, quiet break. Expedia enabled us to get the rooms for an absolute bargain as well!

It's a good hotel if your looking a 5* that works in April in Kos. The stuff is quite nice, the food is OK. The rooms are clean and new. The bathroom is finished by saving the costs (the shower head is the cheapest you could find it in the store). The tennis racquets are worn out, the lights in table tennis room works 1/4. The water in the spa pool is cold. Everything else is OK.

Lovely week in the Michelangelo. Staff all very friendly and food very good. We were half board and we had all our breakfasts sitting outside. The rooms were very comfortable only negative being the water pressure and consequently the power of the shower particularly noticeable just prior to going for dinner every evening.

The infinity pool will blow your mind!

We are a young (26) couple who stayed at the Michelangelo for a week in September 2013.
Temperature was perfect - around 30 degrees C, with very little cloud and quite windy (which was nice).
Infinity pool area is amazing - great bar, good music, nice cocktails, amazing view, comfortable sunbeds.
Rooms are fine but they are photographed incredibly well on the hotel website, and are not quite as amazing and spacious as they look! But still fine - just a little more basic than we expected.
Breakfast was great - fresh pancakes and waffles each morning; would be good to have a variety with different options for breakfast each morning, and more fruit choices... But still good. We did not have lunch or dinner in the hotel at all.
Definitely hire a car - the hotel is kind of in the middle of nowhere and I don't think buses are that regular; we had a car so Kos town was only 15 min drive away.
We found some good restaurants on the island - namely Lofaki (up the side of a mountain - great sunset views, but be careful not to take the perilous mountain road route to get there!), Petrino (in Kos town, with an amazing garden dining area and excellent Greek food) and El Gallo (tapas restaurant on the waterfront in Kos Town, on G. Averof St). There were sadly a lot of very touristy places in Kos that we tried to avoid, but these 3 restaurants really impressed.

Chill out and enjoy the view...

Fantastic hotel, amazing views, friendly staff, great food, a really top class hotel with a quiet, relaxed \"spa\" feel.

To get the best from it, make sure you get a premium sea front room for incredible view over infinity pool and the Agean to Turkey from your large balcony.

If you are going half-board, you can upgrade to all-inclusive for 30 Euros a day each, which is quickly justified if you're caning premium spirits and cocktails all day! You also get lunch as well, if you needed it after superb breakfast. This is quite handy if you wanted to go somewhere else one day, you only pay for the days you are at the hotel.

Kos town very nice for a day out.

September good month to go as still very hot (high 80's) and kids back at school.

Only bad point - the occasional huge wasp/bee type thing, more like a small bird. Shared our breakfast one morning when we sat outside. Not a problem in general.

Evening fakir show was so bad it was good, we had a right laugh.

Check out little cliff-top independent Villa Café just across from hotel - fantastic value, very friendly.

Nice hotel close to the beach

We had a very nice 6 days stay at the hotel; the stuff was very friendly, they always there to help; the all inclusive food and drinks was excellent, every piece was made to perfection. The pool/bar was excellent idea to combine. We had to walk down a few steps to the beach which was not far and the private beach was in good condition too. Things that needs improving: a bit more powerfull wireless internet and more entertainment.

Fantastic location, great for families!

The location of the hotel is superb, with beautiful views of the Turkish mainland, close to the natural hot springs at Thermae and only 10-15 minutes by bus to Kos town, 30-45 mins by car from the beaches at Tigaki, Marmaris and Matashari, about 1 hour from Zia up in the mountains for the breathtaking views and sunsets. The facilities are excellent, including the famous infinity pool, spa with flotation pool, tennis courts and secluded beach. Poolside service is excellent, and the breakfast and evening buffets extensive (although lacking in shellfish and spicy options). Evening entertainment is varied.

Only downside, lack of transfer from the airport so expect a 40-50 Euro taxi ride each way.

We stayed 5 nights in this resort in July 2012. it's a large resort with 3 pools, a decent spa and private beach. The rooms are a good size and I think most have views of the sea. The main infinity pool is gorgeous and has superb views over the Aegean. There is a pool bar serving drinks and snacks all day. The buffet in the evenings is possibly the best buffet I've experienced in terms of quality of the food. Staff are friendly and efficient - special mention to the bar manager and the general manager, George, whom we met at the end. The only downsides were that it was quite windy, though we were told that this was unseasonal, the private beach is grey sand/stones (which is obviously hot the hotel's fault :) and the pillows were lumpy. Overall we had a relaxing and enjoyable stay.

Very nice holiday

Great holiday for sure. However, location is quite a bit outside Kos town, which makes it a bit isolated. Bus takes approx 20 min into town but only runs every hour.
Hotel and resort is lovely - well kept. Their pools are lovely, beach is not that great - pebbles not sand and quite a hike from toilets/bar/drinks etc. Resort is big and on a hill, so lots of stairs everywhere, please keep in mind. Wireless internet is free, but crap and only works in the main building. Worth paying for superior room to get the view over the ocean. Food is ok, but gets repetitive, even on half board. Staff are great. This was my 5th time to the island - I would recommend the resort but not go back due to its location.

stylish hotel with a great infinity pool

a refreshing towel and drink on arrival set the scene for our stay at this very stylish hotel. we had a suite for 3 adults providing a separate sleeping area . the room was very modern and clean and the staff were very attentive. it was very busy at evening meal time so was difficult to get a table outside but we managed and the staff although a little short handing did a good job. we loved the extensive infinity pool which was probably Olympic length if you like to swim a decent distance. we had a hire car so it was easy to drive to the thermal springs 5 minutes away and Kos town only 10 minutes away. we had a wonderfully relaxing stay.

It's a beautifully designed hotel, new and kept immaculately. It's got gorgeous facilities and is in a lovely location. Unfortunately, the staff and service were terrible. They need to double the amount of bar, restaurant and waiting staff to get anywhere near the level of service a 5 star hotel should provide. They also need to address how their staff serve. Their training is poor and surprisingly arrogant. It really does spoil what would otherwise be an amazing stay.

The hotel was beautiful and overall very clean. However every time you had a bath it flooded the bathroom through a drain in the floor. It was supposedly fixed twice, but still carried on flooding the bathroom (and hallway).
The food was fine, but it was quite expensive for what it was and the options were very limited.
