The property is in an amazing location overlooking the river and where along with two bridges.
As an old building itself the whole visit to the hotel was steeped in history.
We had a wonderful time and would definitely call again in the future.

Our room, though very small, had beautiful views of bridges and the city across the river. The sound of the water rushing over the weir was very soothing.
The restaurant was much better than we had expected, especially for dinner. It was pleasant to be able to stay in after a long day of sightseeing and not have to venture forth again. The breakfast buffet was good, though not remarkable. The staff was uniformly helpful and hospitable.

Great Stay in Albi.

Great Location is amble across the tarn to the Toulouse Lautrec museum and the phantasmagorical cathedral. Wandered the old half timbered streets of the old ecclesiastical town. Hotel is a good standard as you would expect of the Mercure group and great food available. The availability of off street parking is also a good point as Albi has not got tomuch free parking

Good hotel in a great location.

The Hotel met our expectations and we will definitely use it again. Situated close to the centre within walking distance but far enough away from any noise. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the facilities were good. Our room was adequate if a little small. It had everything we needed and the cleaning and servicing were faultless.
Although we did not use the restaurant the menu appeared adequate and the facility was well appointed and seemed well patronised.

Great location at a good price

Excellent location, with a view of the old town, the bridge and the cathedral. Great service all around and plentiful parking right in front of the hotel. Large room. Restaurant downstairs is really good and quite reasonably priced. It was a lot better and a little cheaper than the one I've tried in town.
The only thing I didn't like is the AC. It's located for some utterly strange reason right above the entrance door, while the room is around the corner, after a longish corridor. So you can have it at the lowest setting and it won't have a great effect on the bedroom, while the area in front of the door gets really cool. It's a truly bizarre design. I suppose in the heat smaller rooms without a separate corridor would be better.

Great location, useful parking.

This is an ideal location for visiting Albi and it’s setting over the famous bridges is excellent - with great views from the upper floors. The free parking outside is a real benefit as you can walk into the centre in a few moments - across those historic bridges. The hotel facilities are more than adequate and COVID protection very evident around the building. We didn’t dine in the hotel but self-service breakfast was generous (if a bit crowded around the cramped coffee area). Service was efficient but lacking warmth from some staff - it took a while to find someone to serve drinks on the terrace. This is a hotel with a business feel to it, rather than a charming tourist spot, but it all works and the location makes up for any minor shortcomings. Make sure you grab a luggage trolley as you will be carrying it yourself!

Perfect Albi Hotel

This hotel has it all. Perfect location: right on the river with amazing views, easy to find, easy to get in and out of town, easy to get to sites and restaurants. Rooms have everything you need for a comfortable stay and are quiet. Staff were helpful and efficient. The only negative was that the charged us for the rooms on our bill even though we prepaid through Expedia. That may be a problem on Expedia’s side, since I thought originally that I had reserved rooms without prepayment.

Loved this upscale hotel located a quick walk from restaurants, cathedrals and museums. Our room looked out over ancient bridges and an old mill. The room was well - appointed and very charming. Staff were very welcoming and assisted with questions, held luggage after checkout and were great to deal with.

Fantastic views and great staff!

I got a view room and it was worth it! The views from the entire property are stunning! The rush of the falls outside the windows is a pleasant undertone to an otherwise very quiet hotel. The staff have all been excellent! Every single person has been pleasant, helpful and really responsive. I seriously cannot say enough great things about the staff! The room wasn't crowded even though the bathroom was really small, but it's pretty typical for Europe. The rest of the room was fine and there was room for luggage, etc. The hotel is located right across the river from the Basilica, Palace and the entire compound, and the old town. It was a pleasant short walk. The GPS got a little confused so pay attention but I had a nice drive down some really old streets before I found myself right there at the hotel. The only reason I didn't give it five stars across the board is because the bed was pretty soft and the pillows were flat. But it was only mildly annoying and didn't spoil the experience at all. I would definitely stay here again!

The hotel is located in a repurposed and renovated 18th-century mill building overlooking the Tarn River. Service was excellent, the room was very comfortable, our view from the room was superb, and the moderate price paid was outstanding. The hotel provides free parking, but accessing the parking lot is not obvious. There is a gate at the entry to the parking lot but no sign posted informing arriving guests of how to get the gate to open. We had to go around the block, park several hundred meters away, and walk into the hotel. The reception personnel told us that all we had to do was to drive up to the entry gate and that there was a small camera on which they would see and recognize us before opening the gate. This was in fact very simple to do once we knew the procedure, but we did not know the procedure before walking into the hotel. I had anticipated this problem before arrival, since I always check the street views on Google Maps and knew about the existence of the gate. I sent a message to the hotel through Hotels.com to inquire about this issue before leaving on my trip but received no reply from the hotel.

Great Location

This hotel has unbeatable presence. Right on the river across from the old city. The view of the hotel from the bridge is classic. There is also a wonderful view of the river and old city from the lobby. You won't get a river view from your room unless you pay extra. The immediate neighborhood doesn't offer much but you can walk across the river in fifteen minutes. There you will find all the attractions (cathedral, Toulouse Lau-Trec Museum etc. and lots of eating choices. Easy, free parking.

We returned here after 5 years and were just as impressed. The staff could not do enough to help you. This was in the matter of having Gluten Free bread for dinner and breakfast as well as the swapping of rooms for one where the windows opened rather than relying on AC.

Great hotel, fantastic location on the river. My room didn't overlook the river, however, apparently those that did, the rooms were very noisy from the water flowing. Also, the air conditioning was rather hit and miss - either super cold or too warm, even when the temperature manually was reduced in the room, it didn't do anything. Breakfast was apparently very good, wasn't included in my rate.

Easy to find with sat nav and free parking. Beautiful location on the Tarn with a view of the cathedral. Get a room overlooking the river. Ours was quite small with a low window looking to another building making it a bit gloomy but fine for a one night stop. Did not eat there as wanted to be in the town. Mercure stunning location, but not welcoming

Location & convenience excellent. The view was stunning. Twin room had only 1 bottle of water!!!!!! It had a general standard of hygiene, good for the star rating. The one down side was the lack of welcome, friendliness & helpfulness from the staff. We spent the following 2 nights in Privilege Clement Ader in Toulouse & the contrast in customer care & friendliness was striking between that hotel & the Mercure.

Great position overlooking the river

Arrived in AlbI via train. There were no taxis. A restaurenteur across from the station telephoned for a taxi, but there were no taxis available. We had to push four heavy suit cases
two plus kilometres up and down hills to reach the hotel. We almost expired in the 30 degree heat. When we arrived at the reception desk we were told we should have telephoned the hotel and they would have arranged one. Too late! Apparently, the station ticket office will also oblige. I suggest this infornmation should be available when one books a hotel in Albi.

This is a standard business hotel with all the facilities that you would expect - standard layout room, bath with shower over, clean, air conditioning etc. it has restaurant and bar, but it's location (a short uphill walk into the city centre) means that few people use those facilities. This is probably why the staff are not \"on the ball\" when we actually wanted to meet in the hotel and have a drink. It was too hot outside and the staff were, let's say, lethargic.

This hotel sits right on the Tarn River with a gorgeous view over to old Albi. The restaurant in the hotel is very good and of course has the amazing view. It is an easy walk across the river on the old bridge into town. The parking lot is well protected. The rooms are a little small.

The reason to stay here is for the unparalleled views over the river to the Cathedral, bishop's palace and city, so upgrade you room to a river view. It is spectacular early in the morning as mists rise, during the day, and lit up at night. Spectacular. Everything else about the hotel is fine, but the view makes it special. Easy to cross the river to the Toulouse Patrec Museum and Cathedral, as well as old city. Can also take a good meal in the dining room or terrace, also with view.

Very pleasant hotel in excellent location

I had stayed here 13 years ago. It is in a supreme location by the river Tarn and overlooking the ancient city dominated by the wonderful cathedral. Room was comfortable with modern bathroom. The only thing it lacked was a secure deposit box in the room which surprised me. Good restaurant but few staff were over worked and it took some time for service.

Lovely hotel close to the town

What a lovely stop over we had in Albi. We were traveling to the South of France and stayed the one night. The hotel was easy to find and our room had a great view of the old town and the bridges and river. The staff we're friendly and helped us out when we needed to print off an email. The room was clean and had a large bathroom. It had a secure car park which was free. We ate out in the town, which was a lovely ten min walk across the old bridge. The breakfast at the hotel was good and worth paying for.

The view was everything - no disappointments!

This hotel was in an historic building on the banks of the river and the view was everything. The room was somewhat cramped but the best had been made of the space available. With a corner room, the views across the river to the old city were magical. You had to keep the windows closed at night as there was considerable water noise from the weir, but the A/C was efficient. Dinner and breakfast were excellent served in delightful surroundings with excellent service. Easy walk into the city for sightseeing in the morning including the Toulouse Lautrec museum for art lovers.

Great view, but that's about it

The best thing about this hotel is the view -- and it is magnificent. Our room was less than magnificent, but that may be because we were in a wheelchair accessible room due to my having a broken foot. (That's no excuse for a poor room though.) Our room was small and pretty bland. By crouching down we could see through a lovely window though and see the water and cathedral across the way.

Great location in a wonderful historic town

My wife and I stopped over in Albi on way down to Argeles-sur-mere on her birthday. The Mercure Albi Bastides has a wonderful location overlooking the River Tarn next to the 'New' bridge into Albi. Our room had fantastic views of the river, city 'Old' and 'New' bridges. The staff were helpful and very pleasant, the room - well we couldn't really have asked for better. Result - a wonderful evening and morning in a lovely historic city. Would we go again - of course given half a chance. We were able to take advantage of an early bookers deal with the chain but even at full price it would have been worth it.

This hotel was exceptionally clean and very well located. We had a gorgeous view of the River and Cathedral if we got down on our knees to look out the low windows. We opened the window and were put to sleep by the sound of the waterfall. Small room and bathroom but the view made up for it!

The Mercure is situated right on the river and has the best views of the river and over to the cathedral and the 3 bridges. We stayed 2 nights in order to visit some old friends. The hotel is in a lovely old building and the restaurant and bare plus terraces were lovely. Our room was a superior room overlooking the river and had all the facilities you would require for a short stay. however it was a little tired and needed some updating around the paintwork. The bathroom had been updated recently and although small had everything you needed plus lots,of hot water.

The hotel is well located and the staff is very friendly and helpful. However, the rooms are small, and the bathroom was tight. There was a .good breakfast. The fortified church and the Toulouse-Lautric Museum were within walking distance, but they were uphill. In site of the room it was a worthwhile stay.

Fantastic View, great location

Superb view over the river and across to Albi Cathedral and Toulouse Lautrec Museum. Easy to find, easy parking, easy walking access to the town and museum for a two day study trip. Very comfortable. Staff very helpful.

Great hotel

I spent a few days at the Mercure hotel in Albi at the occasion of a family wedding in the town. The location is perfect, next to the river Tarn and about 10 minutes walk to the old town, the cathedral and museum. The air conditionned rooms were much appreciated in August and the free wifi too. Breakfast can be taken on the terrace with a fabulous view of the old bridge, the river and town. The staff was most helpfuI, something which should not be taken for granted in France. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Albi

Room on the small side but typical of European hotels. Comfortable bed and A/C adequate for hot weather. Nice location and easy access across bridge to heart of old Albi. We were on upper floor so window down low to floor but this was expected based on photographs posted.

Hotel is in. Beautiful position. Most of the staff were very obliging, but some of t he male wait staff in the dining room could do with a lesson in good manners.

Impressive view of the river

Outside of a national park, there are few hotels with a better view. It's situated just above a water barrier on the river Tarn, with a magnificent view of the old town. We stayed there specifically to see the Toulouse-Lautrec Museum. However, there is a hidden gem just beside the hotel, a museum dedicated to Laperouse, the French analog to Capta. Cook. It was a surprise to find it so close, and it has a wealth of pictorial maritime information.

Beautifull view over Cathedral across the river.

Although the Room was rather small with no view at all, Hotel Restaurant where breakfast is served has a magnificent view over the Cathedral which is at walking distance over beautifull bridge.

Great from the Outside. But ....

While from the outside this hotel appears perfect - what with the riverside location, between the ancient and the newer more-imposing brick bridges, the overall experience was a disappointment. Here's why. (1) Approaching Albi by car, along the road all signs for the Hotel read 'Mercure Moulin' instead of 'Mercure Bastide' - it was truly an accident that we actually discovered it. (2) It's location is a LONG WAY from the rail station. You simply cannot walk with baggage. A taxi is required. (3) It's location is also on the 'wrong' side of the river; shopping, museums, restaurants; all require a not-so-short walk. (4) Our room was small. The windows, located just above the floor, opened only from the top, and then the opening less than a foot wide. Air circulation was poor.
