It is a traditional hotel with so much warmth and character. The host lady was really nice to me. The location is very central too. I would definitely stay there again.

We had a great stay. The hotel is right on the main street so easily walkable to shops, restaurants and attractions. The bus stop is right behind and the private car park was good for us. You can take a good hike from the hotel to the glacier viewpoint and also enjoy some good cycle rides. Although the hotel is a little dated, everything is good and comfortable. The reception team are friendly and helpful, the breakfast was fine. Overall, a good place and good value.

Bottom-line: Do not stay here. There are too many other better choices all around this area. No a/c, rooms are hot with windows closed and there’s so much noise from the street with the windows open that you cannot sleep until past 3am. Building is very old and run down and in bad need of repair.

Somehow Richemond is one of those places in Chamonix I'll end up again and again. It's a family run business with old times Chamonix flavor in it. They're very helpful, needed a 5am breakfast, they arranged, a good example of kind of requests they accommodated for me. The building itself it's old and the time is somewhat visible throughout the venue, but personally I consider it part of the charm. As a bonus, parking is convenient and location in the center of Chamonix truly superb.

This is a tired, old, hotel that was worth the price as the service was great, location optimal and it was fun to stay somewhere unlike a Holiday Inn. The hotel reaks of character and the guests all seem to have the same spirit of \"let's go for it\". Everyone seemed to ignore the minor inconveniences (kind of noisy hallways as walking in ski boots seemed to be the order of the day, and children running up and down the hallways) for the wonderful front desk madame who knows everything about Chamonix and was so helpful. I will return

This is an older hotel that has its own sole. What it does not have is money to bring it up-to-date. It feels like someone inherited this hotel and now is draining it without spending a penny to maintain it. It win't last ling. It is a shame for this premium property in the center of town to go down like this. What I hated the most was the shower in the bathtub without a curtain. I had to sit in the bath and splash water on myself while tub did not even drain fast enough. What I enjoyed was the size of the room. It was definitely plenty of space to comfortably walk around the luggage and not bump into each other.

I expected an older kind of place, and wasn't surprised by that. I was, however, surprised by the fact that the room had no curtains I could close at night. I don't mean they were poor... I mean they didn't exist. So, the street-light shone into my room all night. And, the breakfast was ultra-minimal, even by France/Chamonix standards (I stayed at another, comparably-priced hotel the following two nights).
If this hotel is available at a price significantly below others, then OK. But otherwise, there are newer, nicer, better-provisioned options available.

In the heart of Chamonix, by the pedestrian high street and right next to the ski bus stop at the back of the hotel. Made our long weekend skiing really easy. Hotel is faded, hence the 2* rating, but our room was spacious and clean. We'll definitely be going back.

I stayed here as a solo traveller for 6 nights in March 18. Although I had booked a single room I was given a twin which was FAB. It was great being able to soak in the bath after a hard day's skiing! The room was well-appointed, clean and very quiet - I was happy to spend time in it. The breakfast buffet was very good. The staff were very welcoming, friendly, approachable and helpful.
There is a ski room downstairs to store your skis securely and your boots. The back door of the hotel opens out onto the Chamonix Centre bus stops so you have direct access to the buses which take you to all the resorts. It was really easy to get about.
Although the hotel is very centrally located, it was very quiet. I arrived by bus and it is approx 10 min walk (or 15 with luggage) from the main bus station, so really easy to find.

The service was great - when we checked in they gave us week long bus passes (to be fair I think most places do this) and a pass for 20% off ski rentals nearby. They have ski and boot storage downstairs and a back entrance which is about 60m from the Chamonix Central bus stop so easy to connect to all the ski areas. Breakfast spread is amazing and timed well (7.30-10) so you can hit the slopes early or nurse the Apres Ski hangover in bed a bit longer.
Staff is incredibly kind and we look forward to staying again in a few weeks when we are back!

I'm quite nostalgic so I thought I would really like this hotel, but the service is the big problem here. We needed to leave early so they arranged for a 7 am breakfast, 7:30 seems a bit late for a ski town but that's when it opens. Breakfast was poor, a piece of bread and a croissant, and we had to wait 10 minutes before we were served by a grumpy woman who didn't even greet us. For the rest of our breakfast we had to listen to an irate guest who said he'd requested an early breakfast but didn't receive one. They could have opened the breakfast room 10 minutes early to stop him from yelling but instead the grumpy woman just argued with him. Not a nice vibe! My impression is the family running this hotel do not enjoy working with their guests. The cost was definitely not worth it.

Great hotel for the price, in the best location. Right next to the bus stop for every ski bus route and literally meters from chamonix centre. Only downside of being so central is the potential noise of the late night partying that tends to go on in chamonix. This could be remedied by forgoing the mt blanc view and asking for a room facing the aiguille rouges away from the Main Street.

Stayed here for a week in January with my wife on our 1st winter holiday. The hotel is on one of the main streets and my initial thought was it would be noisy. Totally wrong, we weren't disturbed at all. Great location with mountain views from all our windows including the bathroom. There are no tea/coffee making facilities but these can be ordered for you to take to your room. Don't expect the ritz, but for the money, the room size is excellent. Rooms cleaned daily. Breakfast is continental which we both enjoyed. The staff are fantastic, very helpful with special thanks to Evelyn for all your help and advice on Chamonix.

We really enjoyed our stay and the hotel staff was fabulous! The location is incredible!!! The sheets and pillows were much nicer than you would normally get at this price point. The hotel is a little tired but I think they are working on remodeling a little at a time. We only had two complaints 1) the bath/shower combination was really only a bath, it didn't even have a shower curtain 2) the soundproofing is not so good, we could hear everything in the hallway and in the room next door

Well-priced independent hotel in busy mountain resort of Chamonix. The room was small with a single bed, but it did have a bath and a small balcony with fantastic views of Mont Blanc and other mountains. There was also free parking, but no free Wifi. I had to leave very early with a 4:30am checkout and the manager still offered me breakfast with a choice of items which were waiting for me when I came down to the reception - very impressive. Great hospitality.

Hotel Richemond is right in the centre of Chamonix literally 20 m from the pedestrianized street out front with its bars restaurants and shops. Ski bus stops right outside rear of hotel

Perfect location
Old, unique, family run hotel. Had my reservations because of the low price, but how wrong was I? Right on the main walking street thru Chamonix and bus stops at the back of the hotel. Large , superior room ( 51 ) was spotless and had widows on both sides with great views. Only slight downside was the bath had a shower mixer not fitted to the wall and no shower curtain . Great Hotel overall and already booking for next year.

Lovely friendly staff. Rooms a little old fashioned, but much better than having no character. Comfortable beds. Basic but good continental breakfast. Very central for restaurants and shops. Ample car parking. Great at the price. Will definitely return.

Very friendly service. Hotel a bit faded but large bedroom and a bath to ease the aching muscles after skiing all day. Free (included) breakfast was a real bonus for hotels in this area. We would go back as it is good value.

great location in Chamonix
I spent three days there in total. The location is right on the main shopping and restaurant street, so there is easy access to everything. The staff was very helpful and spoke enough English to be very helpful. The morning buffet breakfast was varied and included the usual pastries, cereal, juice, and coffee and tea and bread and ham. A nice addition was the ability to boil your own eggs. The walls are a little thin, but it was only a problem on the last evening when the people next door were speaking very loudly for hours. I wasn't sure if they were fighting, or just loud talkers. Otherwise it was very quiet.
