Staff were courteous and friendly but no one really stood out that provided any exceptional service. We stayed in the semi private junior suite rooms which were clean and in good condition. The rooms were minimally stocked with toiletries and you basically just get towels, hair dryer, shampoo, body wash and conditioner. It appears to be pretty environmentally friendly. The grounds and amenities around the hotel were not in the best shape and the age definitely showed. The parking lot was under construction and the roadway entrances were in poor shape. The main hotel reception area was closed and they were using the spa area as the reception. I did use the spa area during my stay and got a massage. The sauna and steam room were really small and not turned on. I tried turning it on but it was taking a while to heat up so I gave up. The outdoor pool was also closed which I understand since it was the slow season. This resort does also have hotel style rooms. Which appear to be decently kept from the exterior. There is a restaurant onsite which served breakfast until 10:30 and we also had lunch and dinner a couple of times. The food in the restaurant was very good and the bar had great drink deals for happy hour.

We were warmly greeted by the staff. Roger was very friendly and gave us a good orientation of the grounds and facilities. We loved the place surrounded by lush trees and flowers with the mountains as a backdrop. Service was excellent not just by the reception staff but at the restaurant as well. On our last day, it was too early to have breakfast before we left so they made us a nice breakfast box each complete with freshly squeezed juice, a sandwich, banana bread and even fresh flowers!

The staff were probably the best part of this experience, very nice. Very well pick you up and bring you back to the airport for a fee. The restaurant at the hotel has a good dinner however the breakfast was 50/50 for me. The hotel is within walking distance of the town. This area is safe nothing to be concerned with with regard to walking day or night that I could ascertain. However the hotel will take you when you need to go. The rooms are fine the air conditioning worked fine the bed was comfortable lots of pillow options. Spirit is a beautiful stream running through the property that makes a peaceful sound. There is a golf course at the property it was nice to look at, but the location is in a rainforest like environment.

First time to the property. Beautiful flowers, nice enough rooms, fun little restaurant and bar to walk to. The restaurant service people were so sweet and amazing. The personnel issues were with the lobby and check-in people and what they called a concierge. Concierge couldn't even speak English. Gave wrong information. The \"spa\" pool doesn't allow kids before 6 pm - how dumb. The main pool was closed for mainetenance. Extra fees everywhere. $25 a day to use main pool - when it's working. Didn't really enjoy much of the food on-site. They tried hard though. None of the other personnel - TV repair guy that came to room, maids, service people spoke any English. I find that odd.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Valle Escondido, and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the attention to detail evident in every aspect of the hotel. Absolute must romantic place TOP class service!

I can't even begin to explain how magical and perfect this place was. From the urban scene in Panama City, Panamá Province, Panama, I surprised my little tribe with our next stop in coffee country: Valle Escondido Resort, Golf & Spa. in the mountains of Boquete, Chiriqui Province, Panama! I knew it would be nice cause I did a ton of research to find the right place, but from the wedding anniversary private dinner on our own terrace by the river that runs through the place and finding a very hard to get hold of bottle of Ron Abuelo Centuria on extremely short notice to the stay, staff especially Abdul, FOOD, the ambience, the ARCHITECTURE, and customer service even after we checked out were EXCELLENT! 1 to 5 stars they deserve 10! We were sorry to leave but wouldn't be able to get our money back from the next place with a cancellation less than 30 days lol. Abdul almost made me cry with the wedding anniversary welcome in our room, he really went above and beyond he's amazing! And someone surprised us with more years the next day, I can't tell if it was staff or the owner who Whatsapp-ed me personally with well wishes for our anniversary, but we were so surprised.

We didn't do a coffee tour while in Chiriqui to experience the most expensive coffee in the world, the Gesha (pronounced like geisha), which is at least $100 USD per POUND on the world market, but the coffee everywhere we've been in Panama has been excellent and the one here at Valle Escondido tastes the best. You

The hotel was very nice, but it is expensive for the little things it’s offers. I think the heater broke, no hot water, we called and the staff never send a guy to fix the problems and it was very cold. If you want to use the tenis, play golf, is not for free, it is additional fee.

Amazing grounds, spent lots of time just walking around appreciating the flowers. Great villa beautiful pool. Only issue was them emptying outdoor pool during our stay and some tardiness getting breakfast out in spite of fact there were very few patrons in the restaurant. 1st time in Panama

The grounds are truly beautiful. The trees, bushes, and flowering plants are amazing. The river runs right through the property which is lovely.
The restaurant was nice. We took advantage to the daily breakfasts but were out exploring the rest of the day. On the days when the breakfast buffet was available, it was an added bonus to find out that we could special order other eggs, i.e. an omelet.
The only marks against that I would mention, the workout facility did not open early enough. It was well after 8 a.m. and secondly the outdoor pool was only 2 feet deep and could have used a cleaning. The water was cool but the pool wasn't functional for swimming.

Nice setting but we found it extremely expensive for what it offers:
There is only one restaurant and a small \"bar\" where you can eat. Same menu for lunch and dinner. Food is over-priced. Very little staff working at the restaurant, order takes forever and sometimes food arrives cold.
If you are not a golfer, there is basically nothing to do.
There are no activities for families with children.

Paradise in a 3rd world setting

Beautiful place. There were some problems with the room and they FIXED them that same day. Sliding glass door didn't lock, t.v. wasn't working, toilet was running, light wasn't working, and they FIXED them all VERY quickly. Very impressive. The hot water takes a long time to get HOT but it does after 5 or 10 minutes of running. The restaurant is a beautiful romantic TENT setting with a stream running next to it. The food is REALLY good. The service is good but the food is slow in coming. Panama timing! But who cares when the surroundings are so lovely!
The wifi went out a few times and slowed WAY down a few times. Nothing serious just annoying. No fridge in the room. That would have been handy.
The pool and work out area are FABULOUS!!!! HUGE!! Lots of big free weights! Everything you would ever want or need to WORK OUT! The floor around the pool is tiled and VERY SLIPPERY!!! VERY!!!
Get a manicure or pedicure!! RELAXING.. NO music.. just the sound of the running water next to the small building.. one person at a time.. QUIET!!! Beautiful!
Would love to spend more than 10 days here... anytime!!!
Easy to get a taxi. Or walk the short way to downtown Boquete, Panama.
Big Daddy's Grill for fun food. Sugar & Spice for lunch and tea. Morton’s Bakehouse at the San Fransisco Plaza is a MUST for FRESH beautiful bread! Right next door is The Garden Restaurant and Country Store in the Plaza. It has a wholesome twenty-five plus item salad bar. Re Pomodoro for Pizza.

It is a lovely property, with a stream and gardens

We were accommodated at check in when we were not pleased with 2 twin beds in the room. They changed us into a room with a king bed. We booked a couples massage at the Spa which I felt was a bit below what I have received elsewhere, but was satisfactory. Breakfast was included and the buffet was nice, but not outstanding. It was difficult to find a nice cup of coffee in the evening which was a bit surprising.
With all of the above on the table, I would still recommend this hotel to friends. Pluses outweighed the minus, and I only mention the negatives in a constructive manner.

Expected peace and quiet and a swimming pool. The pool was covered with a temporary floor and the area was used for a private party,so it was not available to us. The music from the party was extremely loud and did not stop until 2 AM. Staff was great. Never stayed at a hotel that let one group of people disturb the other guests like this one did.

Paradise nestled in the mounatains

Valle Escondido is paradise nestled in a mountain canyon. The property was originally a coffee plantation that now offers a restful experience for the mind and body. The fresh mountain air of Boquete greets you as you arrive. We stayed in a riverside Bungalow, which was just perfect for my family of four. We enjoyed lounging on the patio or in the hammock taking in the sights and sounds of our own backyard full of flowers, tropical birds and papaya trees. While the restaurant offered a wide variety of healthy meals and refreshing juices, we found the service to be slow. We also had a hiccup with our in-room safe when the batteries ran out and we were unable to retrieve our passports. The front desk was helpful in solving the problem, but they were slow in responding, which almost made us miss our bus. The spa and gym were very nice, but we missed out on a massage as appointments were not available. Overall the resort is beautiful and the people of Boquete are wonderful.

Great place to relax and rest!

I found our room and experience just wonderful. Outside our room was a little river so all night we heard the water rushing and the sounds of the night for very pleasant sleeping. The food over exceeded our expectations. Chef Chris was so attentive to us coming out and making us feel welcome. Many vegys are grown at the resort. The ground were expertly kept with beautiful flowers everywhere you look. This place is nestled in the valley of some small mountains. Two pools one cool outdoors, one heated indoors. Hot tub. Walking paths. Exercise classes. Spa. There was even a little chapel. I would definitely go back there in the future!

Valle Escondido overrated

The grounds the hotel is on are beautiful. Little streams flow through the property. Security is top notch. Has minigolf and a golf course on the property. You wake to chirping sounds and the rushing streams.

Unfortunately the rooms are outdated. For the price, super overrated.

Spa and climatized pool was close for the weekend, they said they were having. Obviously I don't care if they are having a wedding, this is a major major inconvenience. We had to take a cab to another spa.

Overall very disappointed with the price and spa closure. The grounds were stunning though,

The river running through the middle of everything is just awesome and surreal. This is a beautiful place. It is only 3 blocks from the Boquete main street, but feels like it is in another world all by itself!
The only thing that could possibly be improved was the room does not have an AC, BUT the area does not need AC. That is a FACT. But it was a little warm when we returned to the room each night, so we put on the ceiling fan, opened the window and after a little while the room was just right.
The hotel and grounds are simply BEAUTIFUL ! Escondido is in its own little valley between 2 very scenic rain forest mountain walls. We arrived the first afternoon in the rain and we were still in awe.
This little spot is amongst the top 10 places I have every been!

It's breath taking as you drive into the facility but our room doesn't come with AC in it. So FYI if you are from Texas and used to AC be ready to keep your windows open to keep cool. It is quite cool up in the mountains but I still enjoy my basics.

My wife and I spent one night at Escondido and enjoyed our overall time there. The grounds are amazing, beautiful, and relaxing and there was almost no one else there. We spent one afternoon in hammocks by the small river and really were able to enjoy ourselves. The wait staff brought us lunch by the hammocks as well which was nice and the food was really good. After an early flight we arrived at 9:30 am (check in not until 3 I think) and went to the spa to change and swim. The spa staff was totally fine and gave us lockers for the day. After spending a couple days in Boquete I can say that Escondido is one of, if not the best place there. Now the rooms are a bit of a different story...
We had room #1 by the small and very shallow outdoor pool and the rooms was sparse to say the best. The king bed frame creaked from the moment you sat on it and I thought it might break if moved too much. The toilet seat was broken and no one came to fix it which was disappointing. The lighting in the room is also minimal which is not what I'd expect from a place like this. All in all, we'd stay here again if coming back to Boquete, but the rooms definitely don't match the quality of the grounds and facilities.

Beautiful valley foliage and scenery

The hotel needs upgrading: toilet seat broken, tv remotes needed to combine into one, floors could be cleaner, coffee maker needed in each room.
Requests were honored. The best worker in housekeeping was Guadalupe . The food was great in the restaurant. The best workers there were: Yarmis, Horemilda, Anna .
Overall a good experience.

Wonderful and Beautiful..

It was a 10 days stay and we enjoyed every bit of it.
The weather was just perfect! Lots of things to do around the Hotel and a short walk to Boquete town.

Absolutely Beautiful Property

The property here is beautiful with details I cannot describe in words. I found myself walking the grounds and feeling so blessed to be there. The flowers, bridges, paths, and streams were mesmerizing. I laid in my hammock and slept to the sounds of birds and the sound of water. As a matter of fact we were so relaxed, we slept most of the time. The rooms were outdated and very simple (don't expect much there), we had Wi-Fi. The location is what made it special.

Lovely grounds, But....

They did not have my reservation that I had prepaid and would not honor the rate. I had to ask 4 times over two days before they finally fixed the toilet. The safe did not work. The rooms are not air conditioned. It was not hot in the room, but it was a little damp. The spa was nice. Breakfast was good, dinner was OK. It is a 20 minute walk into town or $4 for a taxi.

Wonderful getaway

This was the cherry on the cake for our Panama experience. The facilities are awesome and the service was top of the line. The hotel is within walking distance of the town which was a plus, and we got to see the parades for the national holidays, which was a real treat. We found it easy to get by as there were enough people who spoke english and were friendly enough to give us directions.

We stayed 2 nights at the resort. The GM Chris was outstanding, he greeted us and went above and beyond our expectations. The breakfast was awesome and a hearty meal to get you through the morning. It rained one afternoon and we used the indoor pool to get us occupied. We hope to go back in a couple of years.

Unforgetable Trip and stay at Valle Escondido

this was a family trip to Boquete and staying as Valle Escondido made our stay very good and unforgettable! we loved the place, its gardens, water falls, which make the place very cosy and speciall. the rooms were very nice, confortablle and most important very very clean! Hotel employee was very nice and offer a good service to us. we had a package with breakfast included, and we found a very good and complete selection of food. we really enjoyed our stay in this hotel that we did want to go. Congrats!
