The sink,toilet, escalator,30%of the elevators, some gym equipment, furniture handals, remote control, etc…were broke.
Stains on ceilings, food was par, reception desk had duck tape on it, the speakers were blown on the TV. The shower flooded the floor, rusted and banged up items in room. Waaaaay outdated, the safe was basically in the floor, the clothes closet didn’t close, etc… and it was DIRTY. The pillows were comfortable and most of the staff was very friendly.

the white light around lobby and around the hotel is not calming. the in-room safe was not working. the hotel is due for a refresh and refurbishment. I wish the staff can be more customer oriented and takes more initiative. They are courteous and warm, just lack initiative.

The rooms were dirty and old, I know because I had to change my room 3 times. I even paid for an upgrade to a suite because I thought it might be nicer, but it wasn't. The air conditioning didn't work in 2 rooms. They tried to fix both but it still didn't work. The staff was nice but the hotel rooms are old, smelly and gross. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone!

Great friendly staff, but new mattresses required.

One swimming pool was out of service without any prior notication, however it was not until my final night I realised I was bitten by bedbugs.
The dirt under the mattress was horrendous, which I only checked before I left the hotel.

Some minor issues regarding room service payments and house keeping not collecting food plates from corridors for more than 24hours.....very smelly corridor of food rotting.

But a fantastic hotel, great pool and breakfast is plentyful.

The AC was cold, the hot water was running, which is good. I tried calling operator and the manager to ask for the wifi psswdfor 2 mins but no one picked up.

It started alright, until I found the bathtub being dirty and the faucet broke off. Called the management, they immediately ushered me to another room. Started the bath again, the hot water ran out after 15mins.

Aside from the bathtub incidents, the cleanliness, comfort was good. Room was cold, just as I like. the king size bed was comfy, but perhaps it could use extra pillows.

The aircon was poorly maintained and the room often felt warm despite the settings adjusted to 10deg.
The iron was also in very poor condition with the cable wire insulation tearing apart.

Staff was generally friendly and tried to be helpful. Room service food was excellent.

Worst hotel stay in my life.

The room carpet is extremely filthy. The staff service is bad. The room has a strong cigarette smell when it is supposed to be a non smoking room. The staff went to clean our room when we did not request it. Overall, it is the worst hotel stay ever.

I would not consider this place a 5 start hotel

I wasn't expecting much even though this is considered a 5 star hotel.

Check in was fast and easy, service at front desk was great.

Room was nice and big. Bed was comfortable, however the carpet and couch were extremely filthy. They needed to be vacuumed, shampooed, and cleaned. There was visible debris and it looked like the room hasnt been vacuumed for awhile. the stains were pretty disgusting too.

Bathroom was nice and big, toilet was always running, the shower water pressure was very low and it barely gave us any hot water. Water pressure for the sink was also pretty low.

It looks nice from the outside, but i probably wouldn't stay here again.

Great staff - Excellent Value For Money

I am now a regular at this hotel. One of the best value for money hotels in the world. Very helpful staff, great sized rooms, generous breakfast. Only improvement (not necessary but would be good) is bathroom. Will stay there again. FOR SURE.

Surprisingly good value

3 day business trip so just looking for somewhere comfortable and easy to reach. The Merlynn was probably one of the best hotels in Jakarta ... about 15 years ago. It's still fairly well maintained and the room was big, surprisingly clean and quiet. I asked for a room away from the mosques as normally I'm woken by the 04:00 a.m. call to prayers, but on a high floor overlooking the front of hotel, it was pleasantly tranquil. Breakfast was not the best quality, but for overall value for money, the Merlynn Park is good.

The first morning I went to breakfast and found a large MAGGOT in the servicing dish of beef sausages. I alerted a staff member who picked it out with tongs and then disappeared, leaving the serving dish of beef sausage behind. I never ate anything from the hotel after that. I eventually discussed the situation with a manager, but there were lots of problems communicating with Hotel staff as generally their English was poor.

Great Value for money - Excellent Staff

I stayed in this hotel many times, it is great value for money, the staff are friendly and the breakfast is very good. Easy to get a taxi from it. Only limitation, although central, it is not an area where one can find shops, restaurants, etc.

I stay in this hotel frequently. Very helpful and friendly staff. The rooms are large, clean and comfortable. Good wifi (but need a to renew password every day). Breakfast is excellent. Hotel a short taxi ride from main attractions.

Quiet and comfortable

Other then the repeated hiccup over the failure of visa payment machine that could not accept or transact my visa card at 3 separate terminals at the coffeehouse,reception and business centre overall it is a fine stay. The hotel should check that its terminals are working fine or it will be an embarassment and nuisance to customers like me who tried all my visa cards in my wallet only to be told much later that it is due to hotel network problem.

Hotel looks clean and well maintained. Wifi was good although limited to only one device, so I had to choose between my laptop or mobile phone. Service was polite and prompt, an iron and ironing board was promptly delivered even though it was past midnight.

Last minute transfer to another Hotel

It was a terrible experience for me as they transferred me to another hotel without early notice. I had chosen this hotel because I had an early morning important meeting nearby.

On the check-in day, I reached the Hotel at about 12 midnight and was already very tired. The hotel staff told me they are overbooked and had to transfer me to Manhattan Hotel 10 minutes away. However, it took the transport more than 20 minutes to reach the Hotel! When I asked how long it would take for me to reach my early morning meeting place, they said it would expect 1 to 1.5 hour considering morning traffic conditions.

They could have informed me earlier so that I could make alternative arrangement. Nevertheless, they were kind to provide free upgrade to my room and transport to my meeting place.

Nice hotel on the outskirts of the centre

I got a good rate for this 4 star property so decided to book it. It's a large tower (upto 20 floors I think). The room was very nice. The en suite had both a bath and a separate spacious shower. The decor and cleanliness was to a high standard. The air conditioning worked well. Food was good with a good choice at breakfast time. I tried the Indian restaurant which was good. The hotel offers 24 hour room service which is always helpful!

I think some renovations were in progress whilst I was there. There are 2 outdoor swimming pools on around the 5th floor. One was out of action, but the other was available. For some reason, they consider one of them to be indoor - probably because it is covered! Water was clean and I enjoyed a swim after a hot afternoon outside.

The main lobby is very strange. A very large space with red shiny floors and black panels on the walls. Not my taste and not a very inviting our welcoming space. The reception was on an island in the middle of it! But the decor at room level was fine and the colour choices in the rooms were pleasant and neutral.

The hotel is a bit of a walk from the centre, so bear that in mind. Probably 25 to 30 minute walk.

The service is okay,
The room is clean and spacious, the location is good,
The only negative i get is the security system protocol, the room card given by hotel only can be use to access the floor we stay, it very troublesome for group stay if the rooms are not at the same floor. I need to call my friend to pick me at netral floor if i need to go to their room.

Tyvärr var hotellet mycket smutsigt och obekvämt på grund av det stora antalet flygande insekter och små kräldjur.
Jag kände mig mycket rädd och kunde inte sova normalt, eftersom det till och med dök upp en flygande insekt i sängen.
Jag fick ingen bättre service från hotellledningen, till exempel att byta rum.

Därför hoppas jag att få ersättning eller återbetalning av en del av boendekostnaden på grund av denna rädsla och den obekväma miljön.
Dessutom var frukosten dåligt ordnad och hade en konstig smak, vilket gjorde att jag inte kunde njuta av vistelsen på hotellet ur någon aspekt alls.
