Took 1/2 hour from airport
There is a grocery and liquor store next to the hotel
There is a Taxi stop right at the bottom of the hotel.
1/2 hour to go to Gambir train station
1/2 hour walk to the Mandiri Bank museum which I recommend, ask well as the other museums around.

Not too bad, but could be better.

I had good stay there. However, my review there: For the price I got, it s better to stay in another newer renovated hotel. Because the hotel is not fabulous, but the staffs are nice and friendly. Swimming pool is small. The bed was firm, good. Hotel strictly did not give late check out, need to pay if you need one :-(

Sub-standard Accor Hotel.

The hotel did not reflect a 4-star hotel but a mere 2-star hotel. The aircon was broken though the engineer managed to fix it, it was not really cool. The hotel condition was gloomy.

Amenities in the room was sub standard. Shampoo and bath gel bottles were empty. Sometimes the housekeeper didn't provide bottled water.

I've stayed in many Accor hotels around the world, probably this is the worst.

Negative: Water is not hot enough for shower; very limited choices for breakfast, it starts by 07:00 but I went there nearly 08:00, a lot of plates were either empty or in a mass. Too many local people there and it was noisy as well

There were issues with the reservation and hotel claimed could not find my booking. Claimed that some of the rooms booked were cancelled, not all rooms come with breakfast, etc. the staff showed me their system bookings even though I’ve got the email confirmation from hotels.com. I still do not know what happened, if it’s a mistake by either Novotel or hotels.com, but kudos to the hotel staff in persevering to sort out with hotels.com.

House keeping is quite bad.. stayed in multiple Novotel, but this one the staff are saving on all amenities..

The steam room is under maintenance & the Sauna is quite old with almost zero maintenance.. floors are creaking & even the wooden water bucket is broken & there is a temporary plastic container inside this to hold water.. doesn’t live up to Novotel standards

I highly recommend Novotel-Gajah Mada for all the above reasons and many more. In fact, when I first stayed there in July 2019, it was all booked up except for a room or two, and so for my second stay in Aug. 2019 I made sure I booked a reservation as soon as I knew I was headed back to Jakarta.

Highly recommended!

Great location conveniently located right beside the historical part of Jakarta known as kota tua. The hotel is located right in front of the local bus way public transportation network system so it easy to catch a bus either north or south of the city. The area is safe and it has a wonderful Star-buck's coffee establishment right in front of the hotel.

The following need to be improved:
Room has no refrigerator
Shower/bath room has no curtain
Bath tissue was small roll, not regular size roll
A/C did not work, when we first entered the room (check into the room)
Customer service at the lobby very poor. It happened in the morning on 11/24/18 She asked for money deposit when we asked to help contact outside call. We needed to make outside call, while we could not use out cellular phone from foreign country number.

Helpful friendly staff. Good gym. Small but acceptable swimming pool. Large comfortable room but very dark. Almost no lighting of any use. Just mood lighting. Picture attached.

My main reason for choosing this hotel was the location- not too far from the airport and not too far from the old town which is the only interesting place to visit in Jakarta

Arrived on 15 august and i was surprised of how awesome my room was
I mentioned at the check-in to give me a high room so there is no noise and they gave me a room on the 18th floor
The room was very spacious and all the amenities were good
Towels sometimes smelled musty
The restaurant which brings food at u r room is very affordable for quick bites and they have a wide selection of local food
The breakfast could be better
There is a starbucks right at the lobby which is open till late.
Not a very central location but there are a few malls in walking distance
Even a few night clubs in 8-10 mins grab bike distance
I recommend u do take grab bike from the hotel to anywhere because the traffic here is crazy
Took me almost 2 hours to get from the hotel to the airport at noon
Grab bike is one of the best things about jakarta
U can download the app grab or gojek and a typical 15-20 min ride would cost less than 2$
There isnt much to do in jakarta except visiting a few historic places and clubs/lounge
The concierge at the lobby a person named Sudiro is an amazing guy and will help you find anything you want, and i mean anything.. his knowledge about the city is extensive and is a very fun guy to have around
Helped with a lot of things that i needed
And do tinder away cuz Alot of local ladies are excited to meet foreigners be careful of the bars and clubs
They can get very expensive if you dont keep track of the bill

We booked the room with hotels.com, all paid for at the time of booking. Upon checkout, the lady charge us full room fee again. After telling her it is paid, she amend the charge on the spot. But yet when we went home and check our credit card bill, we found out that she still charge us full room fee. We are writing to the hotel to cancel the charge. Hopefully they will reply soon.

We have booked 4 rooms for 1 night. 1 room air-con water leaking and lights not working, have to change room. Another 2 rooms the bed sheets are smelly, so we did not get a good night sleep.

The gym and pool look abandoned. there are few towels on the cabinet for guest to self service. Lights not on, dusty and broken counter, tables and chairs. The sides of the pool are broken and dirty. Despite there are 2 filters at the pool the water is dirty and taste sour. Order some foods there but was not allow to charge to the room.

Breakfast mostly Indonesian food. We went 1 hour before closing, and many of the items are gone and never get to replenish.

Overall bad experience, much below Novotel standard.

Twin room was clean except for the bathroom with a little stain. There are 2 single bed and bed is enough for 1 person, in case anyone would like to use it for 2 people, it’s gonna be tight. Breakfast has quite of variety. Hotel location is near chinatown, still need a ride to reach there.

A good hotel with nice staff. The swimming pool and breakfast could be better but were still fine for a short stay. Great view of Jakarta from the hotel. Lots of TV channels, incl. CNN. The museums and the Cathedral St Mary close by.

SUPERMARKET CLOSE BY, 24 7 TAXI stand at hotel lobby. food court at ground level, every thing is all perfect. room 1707 has a leaking tap, kept on reporting the leak for more than 3 times, but it still leaking. other than that , everything is perfect, would recommend this hotel to a friend and definetly would come back to stay at hotel again, Merry X Mast and Happy new year

I think in general for Novotel Name its a Bad ,

I had a Room near to Room they are Painting and the smell was killed me because of the door between the both rooms .
The Table in the Room never clean even they are cleaning every day , The Mini Bar Ref. Was Close , the Water in washing was stopped not going well ,
the location Was Good .

I liked the size of the suite (2 bathrooms!), but my room had small ants and very smelly water. Personally those don't bother me that much but I'm sure they would bother other people.

Lots of space and a great view in the suite, but for the money you could get a nicer room elsewhere. Staff was incredible, very friendly and helpful.

still using \"old\" technology like the traditional iphone 30pin dock for the alarm
does not have international power point or plug available in the room, nor easily accessible power point on the desk
for the bathroom heater, turning it down was supposed to be cold and up supposed to be hot, but the sticker was pasted on the opposite direction
overall the hotel is clean and great, but needs some minor upgrades and attention for international travellers

My Short Enjoyable Stay at Novotel

3D2N. D1 - arrived late abt 7pm after golfing. Porters helpful with the many bags. Room was clean and nicely designed especially the bath (electric curtain in shower was a nice touch). However 920 was a little \"tight\" especially from entrance to table as compared to 922.

D2 - breakfast was good with a fair selection.
D3 - left early

overall service was good. Will consider to stay in same hotel in my next trip. Well done.

strategic location in the heart of city

when i first enter my room, the room was smelly of smoke. of course because i booked smoking room, but they should spray it first with bayfresh or something nice. the room was ok, tv channel was not good, got blur in several channel. location was strategic, they have seven eleven in front of lobby which make us easy to buy something. staff was friendly and helpfull. the view from the room was excellent. breakfast was average n restaurant was hot. looks like ac was not fully on.

The room had some problems: broken refrigerator (quickly replaced), lights around bed not working (not fixed), weak WiFi technician took readings but no improvement. However, the staff was really great and went out of their way to help: Help me recharge and register my SIM card at a 7-11 (instructions were in Indonesian, not English), great with arranging taxis as needed, and one staff member even used his own car to take me around instead of a taxi when time between appointments was short.

The Hotel overall was nice. Although there wasn't any breakfast provided but across the road you can have food and shopping. The one thing that I don't like is their traffic infront of the hotel, it was very jammed during Saturday. Short distance takes you an hour to reach....terrible. Overall the hotel was ok.
