I would expect the pool to be cleaned up before the stay and courtesy call to check on daily until guests leave for additional cleaning. I would also expect housekeeping staff to supply water which they didn’t on day 2 of the stay. Definitely lots of room for improvement for this resort.

Staff and service were excellent. Windows did not have any mosquitoe nets and so had terrible mosquito bites at night. Windows didn’t have a latch to close and so was not able to close the windows. Rooms had a bad odor. Lift to the 3rd floor was not working and my elderly parents had to take stairs and that was very inconvenient for my parents who had bad knees. We were there 2 days and the lift was not fixed during our stay.

The property is great. The swimming pools are fantastic. Dinner buffet very poor for the price charged. Breakfast was great. Guests with kids beware, will be charged extras for the kids, without any additional facilities.

I just liked the lake in the vicinity of this hotel.
I did not like the staff services at all. This hotel is very run down and needs a make over. It was nowhere close to being a 5 star hotel.
Very disappointing stay.

Good property but feels a little run down...Beautiful location but the service and the amenities don't do justice to it...Food was ok...Check in and check out was long as there was only a single cab to take the folks / baggage to and from the rooms...

Not again!

The property was rundown with very poor upkeep. Average on cleanliness. Very frequent power tripping. Below average on maintenance. But management is disorganized. Calls themselves 5star and doesn't even have a bar! The gym equipments are not maintained and rusted.

Things I liked were. Staff is very courteous. Restaurant serves really nice food.

DEAD COCKROACH AND COBWEB ON THE MENU

Check-In, was excellant, more than happy. Very Welcoming and Friendly reception. Room was also good, clean and decorated.
Being an Island Resort, you dont have much of an option for outside food. So the restaurant they have is your only saviour. Saviour it was, untill now 9th March 2018 0930hrs.
We reached the restaurant for our breakfast as usual and were totally shocked when we saw a dead Cockroach upside dwn onthe table we were about to sit. We saw the waiters passing by the table, yet none seemed bothered.
We asked for the manager and we got a young lad. We insisted for the manager and we got another young waiter.
Trying to be discreet and save thiere skin, i showed him the table. The waiter sees the dead cockroach, takes a tissue, picks it up and takes off. He does not take the necesary step to sanitize the table.
We again as for the manager and we are told he is BUSY. This upset me because the manager was actually not bothered.
Finally we sit in another table, and now we see a cobweb across two glasses. This became to much so we called for the head chef or some one more of an authority. The chef comes very aplogetic, cleans our table, but they dont clean the cockroach table.We saw some guests sitting in the Cockroach table and felt like telling them, but was stopped by my family.
I again asked for the manager and came the F and B manager.
I checked out after the incident and at the reception again asked for the manager, he never showed up.

Nice Resort close to beach access is difficult.

Beautiful location on the estuary with a beach a short boat ride away. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The restaurant is beautifully located and the food was excellent. They served some good Australian wine.
The room was spacious and the bed was king size and comfortable. It however coil do with some refurbishment. The mini fridge in the room was rusty. The toilet could have been cleaner.
We took a one hour boat ride in the back water. It was beautiful with lots of birds. The backwaters we littered with plastic (not the hotels fault) but the government should do something about it.

Excellent property, very poor service, facilities

The room was great. Only 1 restaurant serving buffet which was sub par except for bfast. Room service was very poor quality and took very long - upwards of an hour at times, not to forget crazy prices - masala peanuts @ Rs.385/-!! Main pool not functioning and its in the middle of summer! Poor service, except for 1 guy called Sajjan who was excellent. We were saved since we discovered a nearby floating restaurant - Samudra. Those guys are excellent. Super food of all varieties and great ambiance. Extraordinary service as well. Pick you up from the hotel jetty and drop back at no charge. Also pack up food for you in case you want to take some back, along with paper plates, napkins and plastic spoons.

very average rooms

the location and the facilities are good but the room where I stayed was really bad , old bed and spring mattress , it was really hard to sleep. and inside the room there was no fridge and neither did the electric kettle work. the food was average both at dinner when the staff suggested that we go for a buffet and that ordering off the menu would take really long and also at breakfast. All in all, it did not match the description given at all and I was very disappointed.

Great place to stay, but be careful with the food

I stayed their with my family for two days. It is a great place to stay with your family . The views are great ( from the estuary view room) and the boat ride was great.The staff are all great and are always eager to help you. The rooms are also great and well kept. Alot of space for the children to play around and for you to relax and unwind. Food was a little too expensive for my taste, but was ok as you would expect it to be expensive in such a resort. But the biggest let down came on the day we were about to check out. During breakfast I found a piece of metal from a metal scrub used to clean plates in my food. This is totally not acceptable as we were travelling with kids and elderly who may not notice this in their food. They should have given more thought to this and avoided using such dangerous things altogether. Unfortunately for me this find destroyed all the fun that I had till then as we were travelling with two kids aged 2 and 4 at that time. I hope that the management would note the review that I had written at the time of the check out and take necessary steps. So for anyone wanting to stay at this resort the only advise I would like to give is be careful with the food you order especially if you are travelling with kids.

Beautiful setting, really good value

Lovely place, very reasonable price. Staff very keen to be helpful, but did not always stick to their word. Not much to do in vicinity but great to hide away read, chill out, go on backwater trips.
I'd recommend but staying for more than a week could be too much

Very scenic and nice property for family vacation

We stayed for 3 nights for a short family vacation during Christmas break. Very good location and a well managed & maintained property. Location of this property is very good as it is on the bank of a lake and other side of the lake you have Arabian sea which makes this property very scenic. One thing we didn't enjoy so much at this place was food. Food didn't taste real authentic Indian or Kerala food, it had very blunt taste. Overall it was a very good stay minus the food part. This property has cottages and rooms so please check out your preference while booking.

Very relaxing but not much to do

We spent 4 days at the resort. The setting is beautiful and it is very tranquil and relaxing. The food at the resort was good but there really was no option to eat anywhere else. We were disappointed that we could not walk to the beach but were allowed one free boat trip per day ( not allowed on Christmas day). The cottage we stayed in was comfortable but we were very disappointed that there was no internet access other than near reception/main pool area.

Great place for leisure and visit scenic locations

It was great holiday for me and my family. This place is very quiet and away from commercial activities and crowded locations so makes the stay memorable and enjoyable. Hotel staffs generally very receptive and helpful. Both Prashant and Appu were excellent in providing the service during our dinner time at the restaurants. This place is nicely located to see the scenic beauty of both Kerala and Tamil Nadu, however, the taxi rental is bit more expensive so need a better budget planning when book your trip.

On suggestions, hotel mgmt and hotels.com need a better co-ordination because when I reached the hotel the check-in process was delayed as they could not locate my reservation. It could have been a nightmare if the hotel was fully booked on that date. Also they extend the complementary wifi to few more hours per day as 1hr is not sufficient and its slow as well.

Nice location but nasty rooms

We are total disappointed on see the rooms which was totally different from picture show in the website. Not worth for the money we paid. We stayed in lexiure villa which is the costly room time in the hotel while book we choose for two queen size bed but in hotel they gave us a movable extra bed like a 2 star hotels do. Pool is good and spa good

Cost comfortable hotel with a great view

Had an awesome time at the resort. Clean, neat, helpful staff made it easy. The facilities are excellent and the food is great, we met the chef and congratulated him on his dishes. The ambience of the restaurant could be better and more lively with the view it has, they can do wonders with the decor.

Excellent property with a beautiful and well spread layout...close to perfect for a relaxing holiday. Service levels at the hotel could do with some improvement in speed of response terms and communication ability of service staff (language barrier). The restaurant could improve on its vegetarian offering and is a tad expensive. A recommended destination and probably the best pick considering options around.

Changed 4 rooms with two in the night as ac was not working and one room had security issues. Food was OK and staff though helpless put on a smiling face at all times. Maintenance of the hotel is poor and service below par. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Didn't get the rooms we booked as they overbooked, didn't bother informing us either. When we got in the rooms, there were dead insects on the floor, dirty towels in the bathroom, plates in the sink. Told manager but he blamed us saying we did it despite the fact we only checked in 5 minutes before... Hotels.com refunded in full. Resort is nice but manager and service is AWFUL which ruins your stay and is such a shame. Rooms are decent size.

Very bad experience

This is not a premium resort nor is it a luxury property as it is toted online. Customer service is sporadic and not consistent. There are no harmonized policies. General attitude of the staff is to squeeze the maximum financially from you during the stay. The Property is not at all kid friendly and poor security policies. We had a bad experience with bottled water supply in our room. On the second day of our stay we were offered 2 bottles of water. We found both the bottles were open and when asked why the bottles were open, management first denied that the bottle were opened but later accepted that they provide filtered water in recycled plastic bottles (eg: aquafina, bisleri etc) that was used by someone else before. The food was just OK - nothing spectacular. They were unable to gauge the food quantity that was required and would either run out at the buffet or have old and dried up food especially the bread etc. The staff tried to accommodate our needs but without resources at their disposal.

Good if you only want to stay in the hotel

Arranging transport to go to the market and Sight seeing is very difficult .. The hotel is in a very secluded area ... Connectivity to the outside world is very weak...otherwise it is a nice place to stay for a night or max 2 nights
