Shuttle bus is a joke! You must stop deceiving people with this non existent service! Stranded at airport for more than an hour waiting for your driver in vain! Bathtubs in 2 different rooms are blocked water does get drained! Lightings in rooms and bathroom are so dim! Furniture is very very old and crapy! Strangers and non guests walk in from the street and use elevators to access rooms upstairs to do what exactly only God knows!!!! This is an honest advise to tourists visiting Alger just stay away and don’t ruin your visit staying at this shady place!

It is a nice hotel but greater effort needs placed on maintenance. The room I was in had a quite wobbly table and one of the cupboard doors didn't close properly. There was a flashing light in the bathroom and the television remote didn't seem to work. The room also smelled of cigarettes despite being on a non smoking floor.

Absolutely awful experience staying at this hotel. It is NOT 4 star more like -1 star. See photos of the room I stayed in. There was one worn out towel in the bathroom after calling 5 times house keeping eventually brought one more towel. Called room service for in room dining after multiple calls our meal arrived 1 hour later. Very strong smell of paint in the room. No curtains and dirty stains everywhere- see pictures. Won’t be staying here again!!

Rooms are very old and not comfortable. Property from outside looks good. From inside it's not good. No air conditioning, as hotel staff says it's winter. I had to open window which was noisy and sleep with minimal cloths as it was hot inside.
Breakfast no food is available if you are not early. i will rather not stay with Mercure hotel in future but in other countries it's not that bad. 😞

My stay at Mercure was exceptional. The staff made me feel right at home. I stay at this hotel every time I am in Algiers and are on a first name basis with a lot of the team. Sure there are some quirks that are typically dealt with immediately, but overall I have 0 complaints. I will certainly continue to make this my number one choice when I am staying in the area.

Difficult to get hold of

I made this booking last minute due to a flight change.

I was going to land around midnight and I tried calling to confirm airport shuttle and late check-in.
Nobody picked up when I called the number supplied with my booking.

I searched online and found an alternative number. The lady who picked up was extremely unhelpful and hang-up on me because she could not hear me well. I was speechless to say the least.

I asked somebody else to call them and finally got a mobile number to call the shuttle driver although getting in touch with the hotel after landing was just as difficult!

Things got better after arrival at the hotel. Check-in was speedy and Ayoub at reception was very helpful. The room was vintage and clean.
Check-out the next morning was speedy and staff were efficient too.

For a 4-star hotel, you would expect better service so it was a shame.

Only wanted a pool ☹️

Only booked this hotel as wanted somewhere with a pool after two weeks travelling around. Didn't find out until we got there that the pool was empty and was not expected to be back in use for at least 10 days. Looking at the poolside area I don't think it had been used for a while. Thought we'd use the bar, that was filled with what looked like a medical conference. Room was very dated. No plug sockets near the bed, had to unplug the fridge to plug in the kettle.

Positives were the super comfy bed and the free airport shuttle.

All is great, love the hotel, but there are two permanent issues:
1- too much chlore in the pool
2- there is always smthg wrong the the shower, either the cold water handle does not function, or you cant hold water in the bath, or smthg is missing.. but overall i like and recommend the hotel. Great location, good restaurant and variety.

Good buffet breakfast and a few different restaurants for dinner. Rooms a bit dated but clean and no issues. Left a few free bottles of water, soft drinks and juice in fridge each day. The hotel is very clean and modern - really an international standard hotel. The location is not so good in terms of being able to get out to walk around visit restaurants etc. However, several restaurants, pool etc are in the hotel. Internet so far seems about the best I have yet experienced in AnnAlgiers hotel.

The only good thing about this hotel is it’s location, and the free airport shuttle.
Rooms are not that clean, bathrooms are worse, the air conditioner keeps working even if you switch it off, so the room is cold.
The mattress and the pillow are not comfortable nor the shower.
Few of the reception staff can’t communicate well in English, and the ones that do aren’t very helpful.

Stayed here for a night to catch early morning flight.

During our check in, the hotel staff was ignoring us and was busy attending to her friend, swiping photos in the phone - clearly obstructing, no remorse.

Ive stayed in Mercure in europe, and i must say this chain is not fairly consistent. Expensive for nothing, not even breakfast is included.

would opt for Ibis nearby, it looks newer. not coming back.

I felt very comfortable in the room with a brand new bed. TV was working after finding a button close to the bed, where you can control the the electrical power of the TV. Bathroom was clean and had modern look. During my sleep i was not disturbed by any noise. I would come back anytime.

The main issues I encountered were the room and the service. The air conditioning in the room did not seem to be working. At least it had no noticeable affect on the temperature of the even with the fan on high and the temperature dialled right down. In addition the light on thr desk did not work so I had to rearrange the furniture, thr cable for the kettle didn't reach the power socket so had to be placed on the floor and there were no sockets by the bed. The bed was OK but the pillows were too thick and hard for me and there were no alternatives.

I took a seat in the bar and was ignored until I started waiving, and had to go to the bar to get the bill. Serivice in both restaurants was good but slow to arrive, as was the food.

And finally the lifts have a mind of their own and will just as likely go up or down.

i had booked the room using a mobile app as it was last minute i accidentally booked the wrong dates, it took me 5 calls of approx 30 mins to the UK to have the date changed, i would assume that should have been pretty simple. i found the staff at the front desk (the ones i spoke with anyway) to be very unhelpful, i explained on a couple of occasions that the UK reservation place i booked through were trying to call and no one was answering, to me this only needed the front desk person to answer a phone but no they didn't. as i say after almost 3 hrs the date was changed. i travel pretty much every week and i have never had this happen weather i book through the hotel direct or via another agent. the hotel was ok in terms of the room (was very hot as AC was not great) i used the open bar in the foyer area and it was very smokey i am not sure if there was an alternative but i didnt use.

You want to experience bad service, go there. on 22 November, in the bar downstairs, I ordered one drink, then at 10:20, me and my friend wanted to order another drink. The waiter said we are closing! What kind of hotel bar closes at 10 pm, with all customers sitting there. So we said ok, we go to another bar on the first floor, which is open till mid night. Then, the same waiter after telling us they are closing, he was servicing other customers with drinks- so we went to him to inquire, why you tell us you are closing and then after that, you are serving others! Very bad service.

I got into my room and left straight away for dinner. On my return just before midnight, and with more time for room observations, I discovered that Room 1320 was filthy. Carpet hadn’t been hoovered in days and many sizeable unknown bits were to be found throughout. 24/24 Night Manager was called and acknowledged the problem, he took pictures and apologised and had some fruits sent at 00h25 ….. which I refused as it was late and in order not to waste.
Got up around 08h20 this morning and walked to the bathroom. I felt a sharp deep pain on the sole of my right foot and discovered that a small splinter of glass had lodged itself in my foot. It drew blood and the experience was painful. I am now concerned about an infection.

I called 24/24 helpline again and a couple Managers arrived, soon followed by another 2 more ( a top cleaning staff lady and a young male (no name given)) soon followed by what I took to be the head cleaner. The head cleaner told me that the lady in charge of my room was a thick-headed person who wouldn’t do as told. All offered their deepest apologies. But at this stage, all I asked for by then was the cost of my room to be reimbursed and the young man (who t

Outdated expensive hotel

The only thing that stands to Mercure standards is the expensive price. Otherwise you get an outdated room with equipment that can easily stand in a museum. I believe they changed nothing since the hotel was built. Plastics are so yellow you never think they were sometimes white. Personnel is slow in everything. Getting an iron and a board was a real saga. As it is getting an elevator from 10th to ground floor. Waiting at least five for the elevator to reach out floor. The beds, matresses and pillows are the most uncomfortable ever. Loke meade of wood. So forget abou a good sleep.
To keep it short. Never again. A good advice? Do your best to avoid it.

Staff: Got the opportunity to stay at the Mercure on and off during my two-week work travel to Algeria. The staff welcoming was extraordinary that I've received free room upgrades.

Rooms: The paintings in the different rooms depicting Algerian women are simply amazing, you get to learn a bit more about the country culture and diversity just by getting information from those paintings. The rooms bathrooms in general were not super clean, but for on the go- this would do the job.

Overall design and atmosphere: the colors, furniture and mix of designs between modern and old was a little too much for me, some people may love it though.

Food: I've only done breakfast, so cannot say much, sadly, it was not super.

Location: not close to the downtown, yet there are couple of restaurants in the area, also it is very close to the airport if your visit to Algeria includes traveling around.

Recommendation: I would definitely stay there again, for one reason, the great customer service.

Better than average Algerian but still needs work.

Still the same problem with this what should be a great hotel, the beds are like sleeping on concrete. The under padding is flat. After several days my back was killing me. I ended up folding over the duvet to make a softer mattress. The Elevators are a bit scary, get in quick before the doors slice you in half.
The rest is not bad. Good breakfast, Internet to Algerian standards is reasonable, room big but the carpets have not been cleaned in years, big rooms, staff help when they can.

Take a good hotel and spoil it.

Take a good hotel, take the mattress off the bed and sleep on a board. The beds at these hotels have a thin mattress, someone in their wisdom has taken them off, you are sleeping on a hard board, sorry you are not sleeping as its a hard board.
The rest of the hotel is great, the staff good the shuttle good, the coffee good. Rooms are a good size, but not clean, the bathroom is clean buy the carpets need hoovering and clean under the bed now and again. If you have a dust allergy this is not the hotel for you.

Good for Business Trips

This is a run down hotel with scary elevators, really. The staff don't make an effort to make you feel welcome. The Algerian restaurant was good. There is a shopping mall within a short walk where they have a large food court. Otherwise the surrounding neighborhood is dead. If you want to go sightseeing you have to take a 30 ride to go downtown. The rooms are basic and not very clean.

Convienient location, need of modernization

The Mercure Aiport hotel is located very close to the airport. The hotel has good service, the interior is clean but old fashioned. Here you can get a feeling of beeing transported back to the 1980's yuppie era. Drinks in the minibar are included.

The bed was very uncomfortable, hard like a floor. (French style to the extreme)

As always at Accor hotels the checkin/checkout procedure is surprisingly complicated and time consuming.
