Interesting to try

The architecture is the main draw for a westerner. Beyond that, it's okay. The rooms are very large; beds very hard; breakfast buffet a bit pricey compared to outside but you're paying for the convenience and food was reasonably good. Location/distance is not bad despite looking far away on a map. Uber easy to be had. Overall, interesting to try and a nice, quiet place, but probably wouldn't stay twice.

Very nice stay at the grand hotel. We booked a room with lake view and truly enjoyed the balcony. The beautiful lake is accessible through a board walk behind the hotel. Make sure to get to the top of Zhongxing tower for amazing view.

It’s an example of an Old World Hotel, the room was very large with great views. However you could see that just enough money was being spent on the place to keep it going. It smelt old and musty, fixtures were broken. The breakfast was of poor to average quality, and if you wanted to have a coffee in the coffee shop there was a minimum spend per person that was way more than a coffee!! The major issue is the location, you need a 20-30 minute taxi ride every time you want to go to Kaohsiung, as there is nowhere to eat close to the hotel.

GOOD PLACE TO VISIT ONLY

It's a very nice hotel with character but it's old. You get the antique furniture and historical vibe. The beds are extremely hard to sleep on. The worst part is the lack of sound proof, they need to fix the patio doors, its so loud and you hear the doors opening and closing. Can't sleep due to hearing all the noise from everywhere! POOL is huge. Buffet was okay.

Love the pool

Great for the price. Will stay there again.

The hotel is on a big street and would be easy to find if you give taxi driver the address and make sure they use the GPS. MRT station is fairly close but the walk is a bit tough in the hot and humid weather. Lobby is fine. All amenities are standard. Bedding was comfortable and clean. Shower was in a wet room with a tub. Water pressure was good. Easy check out. Staff super friendly and helpful.

Very Taiwanese style!

It was our first time to stay there. Although it is a little far from downtown, the front desk staffs were very helpful to manage our transportation and explain how to take public transportation. The room was big with high ceiling. The building is a little old, but the staff members hospitality compensated well.

Blast From the Past

This hotel is truly a blast from the past. However, that does entail that the hotel rooms need to be renovated somewhat as nearly everything is from the 1970s. It is worth noting though that the number of facilities within the hotel grounds is quite large. They even have a tennis court and a driving range. It is definitely an interesting hotel and worth checking out

Grand Hotel Kaohsiung

Hotel is like an antique; however, it is very clean and comfortable. The people who works there are very polite and their services are very helpful. They help me freeze my meat balls and keep my luggage until my flight departure time, a couple of hours after I checked out. They care about the tiny details, worried for me that my meat balls might defrost during my flight. Didn't have a chance to use the pool and gym. The pool looks very big though. Breakfast is more of a Taiwanese style. Wish it has more choice on the western side, e.g., scramble eggs, etc. My room on the lake side is very big and comfortable. The view is very good. I enjoyed my stay very much. Will definitely come back again.

Inconvenient location.

Disappointed! Three stories bldg, hardwood floor, upstair was running around at mid night made a lot of noise, bathroom and bathtub is very old except toilet is new made by panasonic. If you take bus from Kaohsiung bus station #60 approach to clear lake, took you half an hour and then you need to walk 8 minutes to the hotel.

Beautiful design and very classy setting

I stayed here decades ago when it first opened and although it's a little dated, it still has a classy style in its design and is pretty well-maintained. The room we had was beautifully furnished and spacious with a balcony and lovely views. The only criticism I have is that a high-class hotel needs to have better service. I thought the staff at the front was so busy looking at the paperwork and didn't go out of their way to smile and welcome us. They were all-business in checking in and out. The concierge, however, was very polite. The other aspect during our 2-day stay was that several staff would complain, loudly while we were sitting in the lobby or waiting area, about other guests. I thought there should have been more discretion and professionalism in how they conduct themselves publicly. The staff needs better training. It gives guests the impression they are just seasonal workers and not worried about the reputation of the hotel.

中国語がわからなくても一生懸命に理解しようとしてくれます！

複数回高雄の圓山飯店には宿泊しておりますが、今回も3日という短い滞在期間ではありましたが、十分にリフレッシュ出来ました。

基本的には言うことはないのですが、唯一部屋の空調のコントロールがハッキリしない所だけはやはり古いホテルかなと言った印象です。

周りにコンビニもありませんし、館内レストランも選択肢は少ないですが、部屋も広く静かなのでのんびりするにはこれくらいが良いかもしれません。

1.戶外停車場寬敞。
2.接待、餐廳各工作人員親切友善。
3.房間陳設古色古香，但寬敞舒適，床好睡、被輕暖，惟枕頭較軟。面湖景房有大大的戶外陽台。
4.一樓咖啡廳的紅豆大福好好吃，萬x廳的櫻花蝦炒飯、橙汁排骨和荷葉燜肉超美味。
5.有戶外泳池，這麼熱的天氣，泡水超舒服。
6.浴室有浴巾、毛巾和地墊，但無一次性備品（牙刷、刮鬍刀之類），個人覺得很好。
7.浴室很大，有浴缸、免治馬桶，但淋浴間略小，沐浴用品為義大利品牌，氣味好聞。
8.早餐很樸實，但吃飽沒問題。

218房門打開霉味很重，
廁所門鎖壞了，電視也無法打開，衣櫃門卡住推不開。
有打電話到櫃檯要求換房，服務人員沒有問原因，就說沒辦法喔，因為今天全館客滿。

台湾に来た事を実感させる外装設計と室内インテリア。中心部からの距離や地下鉄や鉄道の移動を考えると不便な立地ですが、市バスが乗り入れており入り口のスタッフも日本語ができ活用すれば問題無し。代わりに壮大な敷地と静寂な雰囲気、伝統の深みを感じるには最もオススメ。ただ、築年数が古いせいか家具がガタついてたら　り、お風呂等水まわりが古くて改装して欲しいなという感じ。

Un hôtel qui a un peu vieilli (les salles de bain sont équipées d'une baignoire avec rideau), mais qui offre de belles chambres. La cuisine est bonne, les mets sont variés. Le jardin est possède une belle piscine. Le personnel ne comprend pas toujours l'anglais, mais est aimable.

인상적이었던 호텔

11월 28일 29일 30일 당시 오전에 근무하셨던 단발머리의 호텔리어분께 감사를 표합니다!
일단 연륜이 느껴지는 포스였음에도 불구하고 굉장히 유창히 영어를 하시는 모습이 인상적이었고, 중간의 한국어는 정말 엄지척을 하게 하셨습니다.
관광지를 가는데 열차를 탈지 택시를 탈지 고민했는데, 성심성의껏 알려줘서 너무 감사했습니다.
마지막 날 아침 수영장 가는 길을 헤매니 입구 밖의 직원에게 무전까지 해주셨죠. 섬세한 서비스에 감동하고 갑니다!

雖然是老飯店，但房間裡窗明几淨，面湖的感覺很好！(三樓以上) 直達澄清湖的棧道很方便，一家老少都玩得很盡興。中餐廳口味很不錯，還特地加點蔣夫人愛的紅豆鬆糕，果然名不虛傳。入住前建議先採買完食物，附近可是前不著村後不著店。總之是很愉快的經驗。
