Pros: oversized King bed, included breakfast, decent location near tourist spots and public transport
Cons: there is a hostel that is part of the property, the property is quite noisy with no soundproofing and a bizarre knocking that can be heard in the middle of the night a few times per night. Thought it was other guests at first, but perhaps pipes or something else. Rooms quite a bit run down and bathroom shower is same level as floor so it will be quite wet. Wouldnt stay at again.

Great place to hop to the Grand Palace.

I felt unease to be at a place that has limited space, narrow or inconvenient to move freely. I was greeted at this place with narrow congested streets, the entrance to the hotel is through a coffee shop, or an alternative of tiny walkway barely fit both human and a suitcase.
No elevator up to the 4 floor which makes you dependent on seeking help for heavy luggage. Once inside, the layout of the ground seems relaxing with koi pond, dining and pool area with plenty of seating to relax and unwind.
The location is within close proximity to the Grand Palace. However the hotel itself is very difficult to find. The hotel sign is not visible and fixated at the height that makes visibility difficult.
When I travel out of the area, I can’t get taxi to bring me back because they don’t know the location. The bright side of this Hotel is that it is exceptionally clean, comfortable bed, the breakfast was reasonably good with typical eggs, toast, cereals, vegetables, rice and fruits, tea and coffee. The personnel are extremely sweet and courteous.

Great location and really friendly staff. The pool was a huge plus, we didn’t think we would use it, but it was really nice to hang out there during the hottest part of the afternoon. The room seemed a little overpriced, but that was probably because of the location. There’s a full restaurant downstairs and a great café across the alley.

Fun fact, this place used to be a school. So the rooms are very spacious former classrooms. And the patio has been enhanced with a lovely pool.

This place is within walking distance of the main old town locations to visit in Bangkok, like the Grand Palace, Wat Pho, Wat Arun, and also not too far from China Town. Yet, it's a quiet place to have a good night's sleep.

The staff was very helpful and friendly. The breakfast buffet was good too.

A little difficult for the taxi driver to find it. Good walking distance to the grand palace and Wat Pho. Easy walk to the piers where you can catch a river ferry and take it cheaply up or down the river. Not too far from the touristy area where there's shops and massages, etc. Good breakfast.

A very quiet hotel within walking distance of the major attractions in Bangkok but also near a metro stop if you want to go further. A beautiful inner courtyard for guests allowed for relaxing any time of day. It also had its own restaurant and a children's play area. The decor was not overly fancy but rooms and linens were spotlessly clean. I would stay here again.

Nice valued hotel in near tourist attractions. We could walk every place we wanted to go which a big plus. Breakfast was ok. Not much variety daily but filling. I wouldn't recommend having them book to pick you up at the airport. I paid 3X what it would cost and I knew that at the time but wanted it to be easy after a 24 hr flight. They did not send anyone to pick me up and I had to have a tourist aid call them and then argue with them to send a taxi because I had already paid for it. Not a great way to begin my stay not to mention they were not very apologetic. Otherwise, the service from other people was great and I would recommend the hotel.

The staff greeted us at 3 am with a happy surprise, we had been upgraded to a much nicer room on the top floor. The top floor offers peace and a great view, but please note, there is no elevator. We utilized a shared bath on the floor ( 2 showers 3 toilets each -- separate men and women) which I prefer travelling with a large group. The free washing machine and drying rack were a bonus. The wifi was perfect and is also available in the common areas. Breakfast was GREAT! Our room rate was inclusive of the buffet style breakfast which we loaded up on before full days of adventure. Dinner was eaten in the downstairs eatery one night and the mixed menu was appreciated: nuggets and fries to traditional Thai food. Location suited our needs because of safety and proximity to the major sights. It's a 20 min walk to The Grand Palace one way and 20 min to Kaosan Road the other direction. For snacks and toiletries, 711 is about a three minute walk. Overall, completely pleased.

As a family of 4, we thoroughly enjoyed staying here. We had the room on the fourth floor and it was just as the photo portrayed when we booked it. The floor space is a bit small in this room, but adequate for the 3 nights we were there, as there is a large outside sitting area that we had almost all to ourselves. The hotel is very clean-as are the shared bathrooms. The breakfast is good-plenty to choose from:eggs, toast, fruit, yogurt, cereal and a couple of Thai dishes. The location is good, close to the Grand Palace and Khao San Road, and the staff is very pleasant. I would definitely recommend it!

This hotel was a dream find! Located literally just two blocks from the Grand Palace, you are walking distance away from everything. The food was amazing for the most part, the rooms have a TON of character (original paintings right on the walls), and it just feels so Bangkok-ish!

The place to be in old Bangkok

Amazing stay in this hotel with many good amenities and added bonus of a beautifully landscaped garden - relaxing and cool garden features. Closeby to many attractions I wanted to visit like The Grand Palace, Wat Pho and many others. The hotel
also arranges tours wilhuch appears to be affordable prices. The hotel resto provides a good array of choices for breakfast and their ala carte menus fior lunch and dinners are value for money and those I had were good indeed!
Room was clean and had clean and crisp linens and towels everyday. Members of staff are very friendly and helpful.

It’s good value for money and will stay here again. I will certainly recommend to friends.

Our hotel has the rustic old Thailand feel which is very appealing. They do room cleaning everyday with everyday changes in towel which I appreciate. Although there is challenges in finding the hotel because of its location, the experience over all is very good. Loved my 6 night stay in the spacious and comfortable ground level suite. Hotel itself is charming with a lovely courtyard full of trees and flowers. It is not a luxury hotel however. For example the breakfast was adequate but nowhere near what one would expect in a 4 or 5 star hotel. Yet the helpfulness of the staff and the diversity of the guests made it a really interesting place to hang out. The dinner menu provided me with delicious and inexpensive dinners throughout my stay. The biggest advantage for me was the location which is an easy walk to many of the most beautiful temples (wats) in Bangkok. It’s also close to the river and access to boats that will take you to many other destinations. This is right in the middle of old town, a short block from a small canal and authentic Thai shopping centers like Pld Siam. Not the place for a big bar scene or Uber glitz though. It was perfect for me though. A wonderful massage establishment is located just down the lane from the hotel which gave me some of the best massages I’ve ever had, ask at the desk.

Very friendly staff providing good service all round. Our room was clean with a comfortable bed (if you like a hard mattress). Shower was basic but clean and the aircon worked properly.
Breakfast was OK but the same was offered every day, a bit more options would be better. Only thing we weren't too happy about was that the (beautiful) bar closed early.

Overall was good. My mom love to walk to the temple in the morning ..We love the local area around and many of local thai food. Room was included breakfast which is ok, basic breakfast. Room was clean , TV doesn’t work well and internet wifi was not really good signal, I have to reconnect many times. I thought my stay was close to perfect. I have stayed here several times and the neighborhood is transforming into something very special. When I say not for everyone, the location of this hotel is in one of Bangkoks oldest neighborhoods. If you want or need to go for a more modern shopping experience, it's quite inconvenient and expensive. On the other hand if you are comfortable in Asia and want a very affordable and comfortable place to explore the old city Feung Nakorn is perfect.

The staff are absolutely wonderful, several times they went above what we could of expected of them to make our stay in Bangkok/Thailand more enjoyable. Our room was also nice, good AC, large bed, and spacious. The hotel is in a good location yet it's very quiet at night. The included breakfast is good, I'm a vegetarian so my options were slightly limited to fruit, toast and fried rice, but I was still pleased.

This hotel has a great location in old Bangkok within easy range of the river, the Grand Palace, many temples and buddhas as well as Khaosan Rd. and Chinatown. The buffet breakfast was good: juice, tea, coffee, toast, eggs, noodle dish and rice dish although it seemed strange having green curry or sweet and sour chicken for breakfast. The garden and koi pond proved a wonderful oasis of calm away from the hustle and bustle of the town. The room was large and the air conditioning very effective. I'd also recommend the king prawn tom yum at the adjacent Alice's Cafe (it uses the hotel's kitchen) -- the best tom yum I've had on 6 trips to Thailand.

Wonderful funky, boutique hotel!

Feung Nakorn was everything we hoped it would be - easy, stylish, comfey, peaceful, colourful, welcoming and wonderful! It's in a great part of Bangkok - historical and not too touristy - with plenty to see and do within walking distance.

The staff made our stay easy and were very welcoming. The garden and decor of the hotel were fantastic - colourful, thoughtful, stylish with many great design touches - the garden was a wonderful place to relax. The room was great; quiet, air conditioned and the bed was huge and really comfey. The en-suite was just what we needed.

We enjoyed a great breakfast and a lovely, tasty dinner in the fantastic outdoor dining area. We loved the peacefulness of the garden, the pretty fairy lights, the relaxing atmosphere and the unique character of the place.

I would highly recommend Feung Nakorn to anyone who loves places, with their own unique character and style, that are quiet and homely and in a great, historical part of town and are great value for money.

Hidden gem in old Bangkok

Nice hotel hidden in old part of Bangkok. Walking distance to major attractions like Grand Palace, Wat Pho and Flower Market. We booked the family suite and it has two rooms to allow our family of four to really spread out. The hotel courtyard is a great place to relax and escape the hustles & bustles of the city. The morning breakfast buffet has a good spread of Thai and Western food - the Thai cooking was on par with some of the higher end restaurants we visited in Bangkok.
The only downside is the hassle to get from this hotel to Central Bangkok. It was not fun to negotiate with taxi driver since most of them don't bother with the meter and tried to charge a fix rate that's 3-4 times what it should be.

Our flight was delayed so it was about 2 a.m. when we checked in and the front desk personnel were very helpful. One carried my bag up the two flights of stairs. The beds were very comfortable with fabulous A/C and they had a very good breakfast buffet with a lot of options. The location is great and an easy walk to The Grand Palace. The only downside is that there is no lift.

This is a love it or hate it location. Walking distance to many of the \"attractions\" klongs and soi's filled with street food and traditional markets. If you are a seasoned traveler you'd probably love it. On the other hand you will find few if any western style restaurants or shopping. If this is your thing I would suggest staying elsewhere, This was our 2nd time here so that should speak for itself. The price is also very reasonable.

Ive seen previous reviews about Feung Nakorn and was curios to give it a try since the price is really appealing considering the location and amenities.
I arrived around 2am, the staff was very attentive (i believe her name is Wen). I was hungry that time since i skip my dinner before that flight, i asked her if they serve food but unluckily, the restaurant is not 24/7 so she recommended that i should try 7-11 to grab some quick bites. I was afraid to walk along since its past midnight and I’m on a foreign land but she did not hesitate to offer their motorcycle service. She give instructions to their bell boy to bring me to 7-11 and brought me back in the hotel safe and sound (7-11 is actually 3-5 mins walk from the hotel by the way).
I stayed in their bunk beds room, the bed was amazing with own locker. That time, i only have 1 Chinese room mate who happened to travel alone also. The entire room is clean, quiet, roomy, perfect ambiance and fits for my budget. it even comes with free breakfast and the breakfast taste sumptuous Thai authentic dishes.
Room - perfect! they even upgraded my room to a 2 bed room together with my Chinese pal.
Staff - Super nice and super friendly people especially Wen from the reception, nevertheless all the the receptionists in every shifts are wonderful people! All the staff are so warm and very welcoming. They have the best squad/crew i had ever encountered so far from my numerous trips. Even the housekeeping, food staff are very friendly

The fiance and I stayed in a 4-bed dorm (2 bunk beds) that sat near a ledge overlooking the minibar and koi pond. The hostel was VERY clean with incredibly nice staff. Their little orange cat that roams around is adorable and well taken care of (unlike a lot of strays). This is by far the best hostel I have ever stayed in.

Pros:
- Great food and even greater prices! Breakfast is good. Better than a lot of restaurants in the area
- Extremely friendly staff
- Very clean
- Air conditioning was awesome especially if you like to take naps mid day
- Great atmosphere and friendly environment
- CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP!!

Great little hotel near the Grand Palace

The hotel is cute and the people at the front desk were wonderful. We booked a tour and decided to stay in Bangkok for a couple of days on our own. I booked the hotel based on the reviews and the location right in the middle of the old city near the Grand Palace. The hotel is indeed well located, the problem is that taxi drivers who dont speak english nor read the latin alphabet can't find the hotel without asking for directions several times. The problem we discovered later is that the street were the hotel is at changes name after a major avenue and i guess people know it by the other name instead of Feung Makorn. On one instance we had to ask the taxi driver to drop us off at the entrance of the Grand Palace at 11 pm when he attempted to find the street after asking like seven different people. Had a great stay, we enjoyed the free water replenished daily, the breakfast was better then expected and had options for vegetarians. The court yard was nice and cozy. Friendly staff and easy to find. Close to lots of attractions.

Amazing Place To Stay

This was, by far, one of the best places we stayed in SEAsia! The rooms were incredibly clean and comfortable. The buffet breakfast was wonderful with various options to choose from. Fast internet and free bottles of water. The location was perfect. About at 10-15 min walk from the Grand Palace and Wat Pho and a 10 min walk from the famous night markets and flower garden. Close to cheap restaurants as well. They provide you with free maps and gave us great advice on how far things were and how much it would cost to get there using different transportation methods. They even took the time to write instructions in Thai so I could communicate better with tuk tuk drivers. I am definitely going to stay here again. They were wonderful!!!

The hotel was in a very central location in Bangkok - walking distance to the Grand Palace, Koh San Road, and other major attractions. Clean room, nice outdoor area, good value for the price.

Keep looking for better airport hotel w' shuttle

We read the reviews before we booked and thought it would be suitable to stay the night before a flight; they provided a free shuttle on the hour and called themselves a \"resort\". We were very disappointed! It was depressing and nothing about it spoke \"resort\" to me. First, for a hotel, the location is not great because the taxi driver couldn't find it without going around and around first and then down a narrow street and found it at the end. Second the staff were unfriendly, almost to the point of being rude. Third, the breakfast ladies did not replenish the empty dishes when we arrived midway between the breakfast time frame, and fourth the guest room was depressing and walls were dirty. I'm not sure about the rest of the room's cleanliness if they don't wash dirt off their walls? I couldn't wait to leave. My advice, Keep looking. There must be better places out there for the same money and free shuttle to the airport.

Good value!

This hotel was great for the price. I stayed in the female dorm, and the room was great! 360 view as the room has glass \"walls.\" It was verynice and clean room. The common bathroom was pretty good also, minus the stuffiness in there. It just needs better ventilation. The staff was nice and helpful. They have breakfast buffet in thr morning that's decent. The location is perfect. You can walk to many of thesights in central Bangkok. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others.

Stayed 3 nights, room was clean and shared facilities were clean as well, I enjoyed a lot the breakfast bufett that includes a la cart ordering, staff were very helpful and friendly. I will recommend this place, I stayed in a 4 bed sharing. Also provide fresh towels every day and a bottle of mineral water. Great location with a walking distance of the Grand Palace

Nice peaceful hotel close to temples.

I loved staying at Feung Nakorn Balcony. The property is lovely. The open air courtyard and restaurant are very peaceful. I had breakfast included, and it was delicious, including eggs, fruit, toast, fried rice, noodle dish, and yogurt. The staff were very friendly, and the rooms were clean. The location is walking distance to the temples and a short yuk yuk ride to Khao San Rd. and Chinatown. I would stay here again while in Bangkok.

Excellent hotel and very good location. Many of the temples are just walking distance from the hotel. The ferry port (Tha Tien) was also nearby, where one can cross over to Wat Arun or just take a river ride. The night life at KhaoSan area was just 10 minutes walk as well. The ambience of the hotel was excellent and the food was also very good. We greatly enjoyed our stay.

very pleasant

i arrived at the hotel a few hours before the usual check in time. this wasnt a problem and i was taken straight to my room. the room was large and spotless.
there didnt seem to be anywhere to eat in the immediate vicinity but i didnt walk very far to find out.
i walked about 15 minutes to khao san road and had a tuk tuk ride back for 100 baht,
the meal i had in the restaurant was very tasty.
having said that, when i arrived in the restaurant there was just one family finishing a meal, i sat down and the waiter walked past me a couple of times. i asked for a menu and after a minute or so he came to take the order, i hadnt even got to the end of the menu!
the meal came quickly once ordered but the waiter never came back to take the plate, ask if i wanted another drink or offer a desert menu

Nice oasis in a crazy city.

My friend and I stayed for 5 days and were completely satisfied overall.
The staff at reception are not exactly friendly or smiley, but did respond quickly to any requests. The friendliest of all the staff was a waiter named Situ (not sure if spelling is correct)who spoke very good English and was from Burma.
We ate at the restaurant most evenings and the food was very tasty. Breakfast was very good with ample choices and good coffee.
The room was big and bright, though sparse, and there were two bottles of water and snacks provided every day...a nice touch! Sheets were not changed every day, but no big deal to us.
Hotel not far from Temples and Khao San Road, but a long walk on a hot day.
Easy to get taxi or Tuk-Tuks outside but some drivers had a problem finding the Hotel. Don't forget to photocopy hotel address in Thai. Makes it so much easier, and get a map from front desk.
Only one negative, and that was the Hotel owner( at least I think she was the owner, or maybe just the Manager). We checked out on our last day, and she just happened to be at the desk and walked us out. She seemed cold and unfriendly...no smile and never asked us if we had enjoyed our stay or anything. She really needs to work on her Customer Service skills and at least pretend that she's interested in her guests.
Apart from that I would definitely stay here again.

Pleasant place amidst the Old City

Very nice hotel, professional staff, as they were fully booked they've provided us a free upgrade to a room of higher class. Air conditioning is working well in each room which is very important in Bangkok in March-April, large rooms and spacious bathroom, very comfortable beds, clean towels and bed linen. Amenities could be improved though as a soap and a conditioner were missing. And breakfast starts only at 0800 which is very late as far as I'm concerned cause we wanted to start our activities early to be able to see as much as possible. Otherwise it was a very pleasant experiance and I would recommend this hotel for holiday stay as it is located in close proximity to the Old City landmarks and palaces.

Very nice stay here. Nice and quiet, free shower gel and shampoo in the female dorm showers. Really enjoyed my stay here I would go back.

One small thing arriving from the airport taxi driver didn't think it was in Bangkok so make sure you can screen shot the a map just incase.
