4 bedroom villa, $3200 paid for less than 18 hour stay for 4 couples. Ceiling water leak found in master bathroom during room check in/villa tour, 4 maintenance personnel unable to fix, by morning the leak had created a hole and was pouring! Master bathroom under sink cabinet was opened and the door fell off, shower sliding door was off track and wouldn’t open properly. Villa WiFi was not working, separate maintenance personnel were called and again unable to fix the problem so the hotel room phones were not available to use to concierge, room service, etc. The list of unacceptable room services and inconveniences continues further, especially after paying over $3,200 for one night!

This was one of the best experiences we've ever had. The hotel is spectacular, as is the shuttle service and the hotel staff. The only thing I didn't like is that when you purchase the stay package, they don't tell you about the room and service fees, and then they charge you at the end of your stay, which are unavoidable. But the stay was truly spectacular!!!

Property was decent for the price but they need to work on staff and educate the understanding that most people travel miles to be there. We found it very sad to see the lack of hospitality and attention. Every bill adds 20% which isn't an issue but most servers take it as a standard. Please work on employee moral.

Service was outstanding, marina is lovely, food was very good, room was comfortable. North Beach is small but lovely, with exception that the water was very shallow and not swimable, needed water shoes to protect feet in water.
***NOTE: even though Expedia advertised that they are transparent about property fees and charged roughly 30% for taxes and fees, Scrub island also charged daily resort/ room amenity fees of nearly $100/ day in addition at check out. Expedia could not explain their tax&fee charge or itemize it, and were apparently unaware of the resort fees.

The property was great. The only concern we had was dinner at Cardamon (the nicest restaurant) the hostess and server were not friendly and seemed put out by our presence. The person working the Hut for use of kyaks not very helpful on where to go for snorkeling. Staff at the pool bar and concierge and check-in were great!

Great if you are looking to add a few days to bookend a charter sail trip out of scrub or Tortola. Extremely convent to Tortola airport. Food and service was ok, employees mean well, training/service a bit off. Spectacular beach on other side and great hiking

Two weeks on Scrub Island.

We loved our stay at Scrub Island for 2 weeks! The Dive BVI trips were amazing. The High end restaurant Cardamon was fantastic. The property was beautiful and the spa was wonderful. The negative for us was the service at Donovan's reef was frustrating to say the least. And the drinks are way too small for the price charged. The bathroom in our one bedroom suite lacked privacy due to the open shutters leading into the room over the tub. Shower was small. When we did get to know the staff members, they were very friendly and we did make a few good friendships. The ferry service is good, and Marina Cay was good as well. The buffet on North Beach once a week is well worth the money and it would be nice if you could get some of that food on property at Donovans. Seared tuna, fresh fish, veggies, pig, jerk chicken. Mostly everything at Donovans is fried, and we enjoy the fresher foods. It would also be nice to have a resort schedule, we never knew what was going on with the North Beach, and other restaurants on certain days. The concierge was wonderful, and anytime we were missing something from our room, towels or coffee we called the front desk and only waited a few minutes for those items. The on site deli and store were super convenient and very good.

The staff was very attentive and kind. I stumbled across this because we needed one night in the area and can’t believe what we found! We were sad that we were only there one night. Definitely on the list to return. Private, beautiful, amazing service, lots to do and explore just on the island.
Water trampoline, waterslide and the beach were big hits with my children. Enjoyed snorkeling and had the beach to ourselves. Our villa even had private beach access that we overlooked from our plunge pool.
Full washer and dryer always makes this mom of 3 so happy.
Book this place- you won’t regret it.

Unique resort situated on a small island. Was a Marriott brand and is now its own brand. Have stayed in the two and three bedroom homes. Homes are starting to see its age. Had issues with the hot water the entire time and maintenance didn’t understand what a hot water shower was. Had to let water run for 10 minutes to get luke warm water. Door to our bedroom was rusted, outside stairs and paint needed work. Bathroom shower door didn’t open all the way, air vents were very dirty with dust on the walls that surrounds the air returns. Restaurants were great. Staff lagged a little with attentiveness but got better by the end of the trip. Many people come to the resort to stay for the day. Hot tub isn’t hot at all but is always taken by the day guests. It would be nice if the homes had their own hot tubs instead of the cold pools.

We absolutely adored the property! There was so much to do on Scrub, but then it was also easy to do a private boat day or ferry over to Marina Kay for other options.
The staff were all absolutely amazing. The room was comfortable.
Dining on the island was quite expensive but pretty good quality for the money.
I would say the only negative was the lack of beach service. We adored North Beach because it was so private and beautiful, but one day there was a bigger crowd there with only one bartender. We never got any service even after asking twice on the other beach.
Amazing views. The spa does not have luxury amenities but did have an incredible massage.
The market and Rosalina who worked there were amazing!

I enjoyed my stay overall! However, I’d like to share a couple of suggestions:
1.The restaurant service by the pool could use some improvement. A 20% service charge is automatically included, but the service didn’t meet expectations, especially considering how expensive it was.
2.At the spa, the therapist who gave me a massage on the first day mentioned that she receives very little from the automatic service charge. She strongly suggested I provide an additional tip, which felt uncomfortable.

Our four wonderful nights in a one bedroom villa were perfect. Our room was amazing with beautiful views out of every window and 2 balconies which we spent a lot of time on. The property is stunning and very well maintained. The staff was very attentive providing excellent service. The fine dining restaurant just happened to be closed for some improvements so we ate at Donovan's Reef several times. The food was quite good. Lovely pool area too! We can't wait to go back.

The air conditioning in our room was very poor. The maintenance response to this issue was the same, poor. The rooms should have a makeup mirror in them. There was a lack of clean towels at the pool every day. Also, housekeeping on the 2nd day of our stay showed up late in the day. As we were gathering with friends to get dinner.

The scrub island resort was beautiful and serene. The view from my room balcony was stunning. The service was good at restaurant. But the pool service was alittle slow. And it was hard to find a chair at the upper pool. Otherwise it was a lovely stay.

The resort is beautiful and most of the staff excellent. However, a member of my family developed an ear infection and the hotel arranged for a private physician to come over to the island and treat her. We were told that the cost would be 300 dollars US. He asked about allergies, etc ahead of time and brought part of the medicine needed and we were told he would bring the rest the next day when he came over to complete our Covid tests for the return trip. We were NOT told we would be charged another full three hundred dollar fee for the second day. He conveniently only brought part of the medicine needed so he could double charge. The hidden taxes and fees and costs for the whole trip were rediculous and in the end cost triple what they should. We would never do it again.

This place is a hidden gem. Its a short ferry ride from Trellis Bay to get here but the isolation only adds to the experience. Its like you have the run of the island. And the Staff was incredibly accommodating. We had to get a last minute Covid test and they literally ferried a doctor out to conduct the test within a couple hours, and we still had time to make our charter boat. Whenever I make it back to BVI this is going to be my go to.

Beautiful scenery, welcoming staff who are very helpfully to deal with any queries. Sumptuous suite with balcony overlooking the marina with stunning views. Whats not to like! Myself and my wife could not stop smiling, totally blew our socks off.
Thanks to great service from Expedia after initial booking to a different resort became unavailable only two days prior to flying out due to an admin error at the resort.
After several calls to the incredibly helpfull staff at Expedia we were relocate to Scrub island resort with upgrade at no extra cost!
Huge thanks to all making our holiday the best holiday ever.

Great experience overall, better than expected. The staff was extra friendly.

We had a wonderful 13 day stay at Scrub! The staff was AMAZING! Very friendly and super helpful to make your stay a memorable one! This is a beautiful private island that is removed for all of the chaos of the larger islands but close enough to island hop to other surrounding islands. Thank you Dornielle for making this a special vacation! Don’t forget to utilize the BVI dive shop on site! Very professional and Clayvorne will make it extra special!!!
