Not very comfortable - standards have slipped.

The pillows smelt dirty and were hard, and the side of the shower wall over the bath had soap scum on it. The corridors were scuffed and shabby. The breakfast was not as good as other business hotels offering free breakfast. I don't know if it was just this particular Comfort hotel, but our stay has put me off staying at a Comfort hotel again.

Rooms were spacious, a stark contrast to many of the other hotels we've been to in Japan so far. Design is modern and welcoming.

Breakfast was wonderful and in somewhat of a German style (sausages, fried potatoes and so on) while maintaining the key elements of Japanese cuisine (miso soup, curry…) so you can pick whichever you crave that particular day.

Location was good, a walking distance from every place we wanted to visit in Himeji. The convenience store located just next door makes late night snacks and watching football over beer very convenient.

Highly recommended. Thank you for the good time and your hospitality.

Convenient place to stay in Himeji

Good hotel in a walking distance to Himeji castle. Rooms are modern and clean and have all amenities, but from size perspective are compact like in most of similar hotels in Japan.
The breakfast was a mix of Japanese and Western dishes, which was really nice. The hotel has a self service laundry (3 washers and 3 dryers, coin operated). The hotel has a parking (for a fee).

Nice but basic hotel. Free bike rental but there are only 3 bikes so didn't get a chance to use as 2 were usually out. Breakfast was good. Room was small but ok. Only negative was the walls were thin so the noise from the big tattoo clad Germans who congregated in the hallway of our floor to drink cans of beer was distracting.

Spacious room, decent location

Very spacious and comfortable room in comparison with most hotels in Japan. The location is decent but not great, as there's no bus service nearby and most places are 5-20 minutes by foot from the hotel. The stay included free-flow water, soft drinks and coffee in the lobby at night and a decent breakfast in the morning, which makes this hotel a real value proposition.

Smokey is a non-smoking room

Reserved a non-smoking room, but there’re lingering smoking smell in the room. Room and bathroom are tiny that can be found on Kyoto / Tokyo, even Himeji is not a very big city. Comfort hotel shared same logo as Comfort Inn in the US, it’s service is much better but room size is maybe 1/4 of US counterpart. Maybe the least satisfied hotel room in our 10 days trip. Booked it based on review score.

The hotel is about 10-15min walk from Himeji Station, and about a 20min walk to Himeji Castle. It was worth the price for this hotel, the room, although small, was well equipped, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the free breakfast is a nice addition. I would recommend this hotel.

Great value for overnight stay in Himeji

Great location, close to the train station, bus station if you are visiting Mt Shosha, and Himeji Castle. Breakfast is a great value with eggs, sausage, breads and more traditional Japanese items. Also a serve yourself coffee machine that turned out a decent Americano.

We only stayed for two nights, but our stay was very nice. The breakfast was good and all you can eat. The staff was very friendly and over all our stay was wonderful. The beds are a little hard as all the beds in Japan, so ask for a couple of extra pillows. They also have bike rental, and lend out umbrellas for when it rains. Also the castle is about a 10 minute walk.

Hotel is a three block walk from Himeji Station, very clean and modern, with all the amenities. Three blocks east is a covered mall connected to Himeji Station and leads to Himeji Castle. Himeji Castle is huge but did not have time to tour it.

This was the low point of my Japan trip. It wasn't bed per se but compared to other places I stayed it wasn't good.

The room is small which is normal for Japan but the bathroom is awful. It's tiny and is a high step up from the bedroom.

Breakfast was OK but it's creepy how the staff stand around and watch what you get like they're keeping tabs on you.

If you're staying a night it's fine but any longer and I suggest elsewhere.

Comfort Hotel Himeiji is located within walking distance of Himeiji castle and Himeiji station, which was very convenient. Although the rooms are not very modern, it is very clean and comfortable. The staff are friendly and welcoming and we were able to store our luggage there the following day while we toured around. I would highly recommend this hotel!

We found this a good choice for a one night stay in Himeji. Close to the rail station and also an easy walk to the castle, with plenty of shopping nearby also. The double room was small but with good amenities: comfortable bed with pillow choice, small fridge, wifi. Breakfast buffet (included) had a selection of both Asian and western foods, hot and cold. Coffee was also available in the afternoon.

No expensive hotel in the walking distance from Himeji JR station and the castle. The location can't be better - it tooks us about 10 minutes on foot from the station and the same to the Himeji Castle. It's a typical business style hotel. The room was very clean. The breakfast was very simple, with one major drawback that you don't have plates, but eats from a prison like tray. I can't say much about service, since we stayed only for one night.
Overall - it's a great place if you stay for a night visiting Himeji Castle.

Pack light! Himeji castle is huge.

It is right next to seven eleven and close to covered arcade shopping area. Free coffee and tea provided at the lobby. The semi double room/bed is quite small for 2 people. Simple breakfast. Free bicycle rental available but finding parking for bike might be tricky.

Stayed at the Comfort Hotel Himeji as we were sightseeing in the Kyoto/Wakayama areas and all hotels in Kyoto and Osaka were fully booked over the spring weekend. Used our Japan Rail Pass to ride the Shinkansen to Kyoto in the morning and and back in the evening. This hotel is about a 10-12 minute walk from Himeji Station, with convenience stores and markets along the walk for convenience. Free breakfast was nice, delicious and consistent with other Comfort Hotels in Japan. The room was small by American standards but was standard for business hotels in Japan.

Convenient hotel close to centre and Castle

Hotel is easy to find and about 10 minutes walk from the railway station. Close to restaurants, shops etc and about 15 minutes walk from Himeji Castle. Very clean with good buffet breakfast. It is good value although the standard double room is very small but OK for 1 night.
The Castle is wonderful and beautifully restored, also visit the nearby Kokoen Garden if you have time

Location is great

Easy to walk from JR train station and to Himeji castle (the castle is closed to visitors till spring 2015) but the lesser buildings and grounds are open. There is the city zoo on the grounds. The rooms actually have views as there are no other tall structures. Typical compact Japanese rooms, very clean. Breakfast has good variety of Japanese offerings / somewhat crowded breakfast room / could do with fewer chairs and tables to facilitate traffic flow and reduce congestion. At the end of a hall, WiFi very weak in the room, but strong in the hall right outside the door to the room. Nice touch / PC and printer available in the lobby for just a couple of pages!! Staff friendly.

大変綺麗なホテルで満足のいく滞在となりました。コンビニもすぐ隣にあり、駅からも徒歩10分以内の絶好のロケーションです。願わくば朝食がなぜか韓国風のおかずが必ずあったのですが、できれば地元食材を出してくれると満点でした。また、ロビーには高齢の男性客がたむろしていつまでも大声で騒いでいたのが玉にきずでした。
