Hotel east wing is slightly dated but still a really nice hotel. Onsen superb, best we have had in many hotels. 3 baths, 3 tubs, sauna, mist room and cold plunge pool. 9am closure for maintenance could be moved to 11am so guests could use it before going out. Good location and courtesy bus to and from Himeji station great, if you spot it... maybe mention it in ads? Room spotless, amenities first class, we enjoyed our stay.

Great hotel, I would stay again when in the area.

Only thing I would ask is to have shuttle bus service to the train station in the morning OR at least around check out time. Other than that the breakfast and onsite \"real\" onsen were great to mention. The almond french toast is a special mention. Staffs were very friendly.

It was always good value but the atmosphere is now cold. The hotel is completely inflexible about check-in times but has removed the lobby chairs. The staff are not very friendly. I don't think Covid19 warrants that. However, it is still a cheap hotel.

Was really lovely place to visit Himeji from , local to all of local attractions .
Staff very friendly and helpful . Mainly Japanese guests but staff did speak some English to us to help . The relaxation room was fab and you could go there in your hotel pjs and relax and read . The spa was great too we went in the private spa which was lovely as we were a little anxious about completely stripping off ! We asked for a upgrade as the first room
Was smoky and very small and for A very small charge the staff did this so easily for us . Would recommend getting the larger room if you like some extra space

Easy 10-min walk from Himeji station or there is a free shuttle bus that runs on a regular schedule. Staff speak some English. Hotel looks impressive but internally seems to be a mix of old and new. Our room, while perfectly adequate, seemed a bit tired and dated. In contrast, the spanking new luxurious onsen on the ground floor was a real treat (free to hotel guests). We treated ourselves to the breakfast buffet which was huge and varied, and had a nice supper in the cafe/dining restaurant on the second floor the first night. The area around the hotel is mostly offices and other hotels so not many dining options, better to return to the station area for those. My only complaint would be that Housekeeping did not pull our door closed so the room was unlocked all day (luckily nothing was taken and anyway we had our important valuables on us). When I tried to report this to the front desk as feedback, their English was not up to understanding my meaning at all.

Good sized rooms and great onsen.

Pleasantly large room with twin beds. Very good onsen with multiple baths. Breakfast was good. Only drawback is location - about .5 k south of the train station and that much further from the castle. The hotel does have a shuttle, which we used a couple times.

This is a mediocre hotel at best. Seriously, there’s NOTHING special about it. Rooms are super small, building is old and smells funny, staff is probably the rudest we’ve met in Japan, and the only positive thing we were looking forward to, the bathhouse, has “no tattoos allowed” plastered all over the place, so we couldn’t even go in. That’s just an ignorant and discriminatory policy. Would not recommend this place at all.

The bed was a bit of a rock but other than that it was a great hotel. The only problem we had was the air conditioner smelt like cigarettes when we turned it on so we left it off for the night we were there.

The staff were very nice. However, the room advertised as good for 2 adults and 1 child was very misleading. The website picture and the actual room very different. It was VERY small and inconvenient. We chose from the picture. Shocked by the tiny size. Closet sized! All furniture was jammed in. Will NOT recommend to ANYONE.

Excellent Hotel Choice for Himeji Castle Visit

Excellent value. Compact, clean, quiet room. Bathroom had a slight smell but as I used the superb Spa it was not an issue. Free bike rental, nice helpful staff. Very good buffet breakfast included.
On the opposite side of the station to the castle but a reasonable walk or public buses.

Comfortable hotel but a bit far from station

Hotel has a popular onsen bath area, with a number of different baths. It is 15 minute walk from the station on the south side of Himeji station, and away from restaurants/nightlife. So many guests seemed to be arriving by car etc.

Dated hotel with great onsen

We booked this hotel as a last-minute trip to Himeji, and chose it largely because it was the only non-love hotel available. We had to take a smoking room due to this.

Hotel staff was nice. The entire place stank of cigarettes, however. If you're allergic, don't go here. Even the lobby stinks. Our room stank so we opened the window and kept it open our entire stay. Other than that, the room was clean but really dated.

The onsen on the other hand was amazing. They have several different baths including a cold bath, and saunas. Tattoos are not allowed, but the onsen staff was really nice when I asked them about it: I have a couple small-ish tattoos so they just gave me some bandaids and let me in.

This hotel is about 7-10 minute walk from the station, maybe 30 from the castle depending on how fast you walk. Would recommend the onsen but not the hotel itself.

This hotel has interesting onsen facilities that it has various types of pools/ponds, indoor and outdoor, which are good for your health in different ways according to the onsen descriptions.

It provides free shuttle service to Hemeji Station. It will take you around 15 mins to talk to Hemeji Station.

This hotel is a good value for 1 night stays. The rooms are small, so 2 people staying more than one night together in one room would feel uncomfortable. The amenities are all in excellent condition, fast internet and a comfortable bed. The staff are great. However like with many hotels, this the rooms feel generic. The best feature of the hotel is the onsen spa.

Interesting alternative to an 'onsen'

More commonly referred to as the Himeji Castle Hotel, my wife and I enjoyed our stay here. They have an opulent bathing facility on the 1st floor and the breakfast's incredible. People with a a lot of luggage or very limited Nihongo may not care to stay here but the staff's quite friendly and they have quite a few guests who just come for a long bath. Be sure to ask about the hotel shuttle that stops near the station by Hotel Nikko Himeji as it's not a short walk from the station. Also note that if you use online booking you probably won't get a room with a view -- the name of the hotel's a bit deceiving that way.

'Flying Crane Castle!

I had never heard of Himeji before going there but once there I was happy with the hotel and the city. The Himeji Castle is very impressive, either the best castle or one of them in Japan.
I enjoyed the hotel, staff was pleasant, spoke enough English and provided a well-run shuttle back and forth to the 'upscale train station area many times a-day, easy to use. Not much 'near the hotel, but access via shuttle puts you in active area. There is a nice supermarket just down street from hotel; tip, market reduces prices on many items in the evening. I would recommend the hotel and the city...nice combination.

one of employees tried very hard to up the rate, lot more than we have already made the reservation for. When we did not agree, He gave us two rooms, very small, with no aircondition, and smelly. the situation got corrected, after his shift got ended,the next person came to front desk. I explain to her what happened, she checked in to it, Correct the problem, Gave us proper rooms.

Bon hôtel pour visiter Himeji

Très pratique par sa situation proche de la gare, cet hôtel propose de nombreuses chambres et une grande variété de services. Le onsen, la laverie, la petite épicerie en bas sont très pratiques.
La décoration est à rafraîchir et les serviettes de douche un peu courtes mais ce n’est pas très grave.

全体的にとても綺麗で、スタッフの方の対応もとても丁寧でした。シャンプーやトリートメントを選べたり、リラックスルームで漫画が読み放題だったり、カラオケルームがあったりと宿泊以外にもたくさんの工夫があって、子どもも満喫できました。お風呂もサウナや壺風呂など工夫があったし、綺麗で気持ちよく入れました。とても満足です。

次回は選択肢には入らないホテル

姫路駅からはだいぶ歩きました。無料の送迎バスはありがたいものの時間帯がイマイチ。もう少し朝早くからあれば使い勝手が良いが、、ら

チェックイン後、部屋に入ってキーを挿しても電気がつかなかったので、暗い中フロントに電話したら、手探りでスイッチを探してくださいと言われました。
電気がつかない事はよくあるらしく、日本のホテルでは体験したことのない不具合だったので驚いたうえ、手探りで探してという案内にがっかりした。

部屋はよくあるビジネスホテル。水回りはお世辞にも綺麗ではなく、テレビ周りは埃があった。
温泉があるから決めたけど最終入浴受付ご23時とのことで、入れず。部屋にある狭いユニットバスで我慢するハメに。

あまりお勧めできるホテルではないと思った。

一つだけ残念

場所もサービスも良く、大浴場もあって快適だったのてをすが、部屋ごとにエアコン温度調整が出来ないため、自分のような寒がりにはい寝るときがつらかったです。

丁度季節の変わり目なので、人に寄って体感が違うのはわかるのですが。

なので温度に敏感な方はご注意ください。
