Rooms were clean and a good size. The public bath was fantastic with indoor and outdoor hot spring, sauna, and cold plunge. Location very convenient to train station and Himeji Castle. There were some decent izakaya nearby. Morning yogurt and evening ice cream and ramen great touches.

Great service for our first hotel stay in Japan, staff was very patient and with our struggle with the language barrier and the room was clean and had enough space for 2 ppl and their bags. Pillows are very small and uncomfortable and sleep was tough to come by bc of it, but beyond that I can’t complain.

Great Stay in Himeji

This Dormy inn is located on the south side of the JR station. Room is quiet and comfortable. Dormy inn serves complementary veggie ramen noodles in the evening to all guests. Despite a higher price for breakfast relative to its peers, you do get great varieties (eel is served).

Close to Himeji station! I walked for my entire stay here. I loved the hotspring, and with the crowd-tracker, I was able to go during a not-busy time so I could be more comfortable and relaxed!
They also provide free tattoo stickers at the front desk if you ask, so this was one of the only places I could get the onsen experience at with my tattoos :) Just make sure you cover them, you can't go in without the stickers.

Lovely staff and great amenities!

This was an amazing hotel. The upstairs onsen was a huge bonus and they also have washing machines and dryers which is perfect for those doing a long travel trip. The hotel provided a lot of freebies and comfy Pjs too! The staff were so friendly and also allowed us to leave our luggage the next day whilst we explored the castle.

Very bad first impression. Arrived less than 2 hours early but still made to wait until 3pm to check in. Even the cafe/dining area is closed until 3pm, seemingly for no other reason than to prevent guests from utilising any amenity until the *official check in time*. The hotel wasn't busy, and so many other hotels are able to accommodate guests arriving at different times. Such an easy way to gain repeat customers, and yet it was overlooked. Amenities were fine, probably comparable to other hotels in the area, but it's hard to recover from a bad first impression.

Wonderful hotel next to train station. The sauna is great (and free for guests!). Breakfast is one of the best I’ve had in Japan. Well worth the price. Staff are excellent.

Onsen and food was excellent. I recommend you set schedule for guest to time in 30 mins increments. They pick a time they like and try to come at that time. Customers will tend to stick with it and the restaurant can be more organized.

I used this hotel for my tour that I organized and lead. The room was small but chairs and the side table helped to keep my stuff. I love hot springs and sauna. My tour members also enjoy bath times very much. It’s convenient location. I want to use it again in the future tours.

friendly & helpful staff. very close to himeji station, around 5 minutes walk, & close to himeji castle. onsen & sauna available free of charge. a bowl of complimentary ramen between 9:30pm to 11:00pm served at restaurant. hot drinks at reception. my husband & i arrived early so we dropped off our bag before check in time & went to see the castle & garden. when we returned our baggage was already in our room. we r both humbly impressed by the staffs service at Dormy Inn & recommend it to anyone in a heartbeat! thoroughly enjoyed himeji! thank you!

One of the best hotels we have stayed in Japan. Easy access to train station. An onsen on the top floor. They gave us 2 adjoining rooms for a 3 bedder that had a great layout. Beds were comfortable and clean. I would come back again.

Great location. Easy access to the JR Station. Walking distance to Himeji Castle. Great dining and shopping within easy walking distance. Staff was very professional and helpful. Awesome onsen. Free late night ramen was very nice. Free coffee in the lobby was appreciated. Downside was the small room size making getting in and out if bed a bit difficult. Overall a pleasant stay. Would consider booking here again if we return to Himeji.

Walk to JR Himeji station is only 5 mins. Close to convenience store. The onsen was so good. It opens 3 pm to 5 am. One of the best and very clean. It has sauna, two tubs and cold water bath. In the waiting area has comics (Japanese). After 9:30 pm, they serve complimentary ramen. It was delish. If you book via hotels.com, you may need to be careful. I booked one adult, one kid. But at the arrival, they told me that I need to pay additional 2000 yen to share my room with kid. The price on the Internet was just one adult. Because Booing system in the US does not calculate the fee correctly. So you may want to check with them before you book it if you are with kid. Overall, the staff are very friendly and well mannered. All service they provided was very nice. In summer, they even offers iced pillow (at the onsen area). Even I had to pay additional 2000 yen, I was still pleased. Will stay here again.

This was my second stay at the Dormy Inn Himeji. It is a gem. An easy walk from Himeji station, really reasonably priced and very comfortable. The rooms are small but efficient. This time I had a single. The bed is comfortable (but not the pillow). I never had to think “I wish I had...”, everything is there and in a logical place. There’s a fridge and kettle for hot water. The curtains make the room quite dark and it is very quiet. They give you lounge pjs and slippers that you can wear around the hotel and up to the onsen. And the onsen is great! There are also laundry facilities in the onsen.
I really appreciate that they have English translations for most of the things you might need to operate. And you have control of the thermostat.

A great central hotel, meets all the needs, it is only 160m from the railway station so that is very convenient and only about 20 minute walk to Himeji Castle. The baths on the top floor for the men’s side was brilliant, one of the best I have been to. There are washer and dryers for use as well. Breakfast was good as well. I would happily return to stay again.

A reasonable Kakegawa option

This hotel is quite nice but it does take a full 10 minutes to walk from Kakegawa Station. There are a couple of good restaurants within easy walking distance. Like all Dormy Inns the large public bath is an asset after a long day. The breakfast is pretty typical and includes both Japanese and Western options. Kakegawa is kind of a sleepy town.

\"Dormy\" is sort of a bad name for this hotel since in English, since that word connotes student housing. But in fact this is an above-average business hotel in Himeji. South of the Station by two blocks, it is handy and the 12th floor onsen is quite nice. I was happy I stayed here. Front desk staff were very nice.

Beautiful spa, but cramped rooms

Our room was barely large enough for the bed, and had no room for luggage where we weren’t constantly stepping over it. The shower was also tiny, but that mattered less as the mineral hot springs spa was lovely and well-appointed and so we bathed there. The hotel is convenient to the station and to the castle, and it was easy to find good restaurants nearby. Loved the ramen service at night!
