Breakfast offer was outrageously expense. If purchasing the breakfast package we had to purchase for entire stay. We were leaving very early on the lay day and didn’t have time for breakfast. At $40 euro per day and we didn’t have time, that’s ridiculous that you couldn’t make an exception. Your other exception was $35 euro EACH for breakfast. I couldn’t eat $35 euro of food. Way overpriced with no other option. Just because of that probably will choose a different hotel next time. You have no flexibility!

Meh. Mediocre hotel and overpriced. My wife and I had a 2-night pre-cruise stay prior to a Danube river cruise. We booked a Premium Room with 1 King Bed and included Breakfasts.

The bed was comfortable. The TV set did not turn on with the remote and, when I looked at the back, the power cord had been pulled out from the TV and I had to reach in to plug in it back in. There was a nespresso machine that does not have a power off switch, so the red power lighht was noticeable when sleeping. The bathroom was tiny with a high-up bathtub that was awkward and dangerous to step in/out of. There was a desk chair that was not an office-style with wheels and the legs squeaked as if they were about to break off.

The breakfast was generic buffet-style and nothing to write home about. We had dinner one night and the food was dry, hard and not hot.

Overall experience for breakfast 👍👍

Our location was wonderful:
*. Great view of the castle and boats
Especially at night
*. Close to outside restaurants and downtown shops

This is a nice property but it is not a 5-star as advertised to me. Parts of the property are a bit tired and our room, although spacious, had mostly empty walls, no trim or decorative treatment at all. Nice but average bathroom. On the other hand, the staff was absolutely warm, wonderful and helpful. And that location? Outstanding, just off the foot of the fantastic Chain Bridge allowed us a short over to the Castle, then up the Funicular. Overall, the room experience maybe around 3 stars, and staff & location bring it to around a 4.3. So it all depends on your priorities. Cheers and Happy Travels!

The Intercontinental Budapest's location along the bustling Pest side of the Danube River is iconic. You are able to see the elegant Buda sights, while enjoying easy access to both urban pleasantries & no cost travel to your last minute whims or destinations - a hidden gem (tho $$$) is their great buffet breakfast club level overlooking the Chainlink Bridge!

Concierge services were great. Helped us get a restaurant reservation for a large group and arrange transportation to the airport the next morning. 5 plus stars for the concierge services! Check in was not great. I checked in at the exact same time as our traveling friends - literally side by side. It was 2:51 PM. Both rooms were ready and my friends were given keys and my wife and I were told to come back at 3:00 to get keys! I honestly thought the young man was kidding. 0 stars for the young man checking us in!
Room was nice and clean. Shower temperature bounced around quite a bit. Other than that it was a nice hotel in a great location.

The river view room was spectacular. The room a bit outdated though. The cleaning was excellent the first day, fair the next and non existent the last. I called to request immediate response since we were going out for the evening and had no clean towels.

Also, would prefer an a la carte breakfast menu to be offered along with the buffet.

Wonderful location, very close to the Chain Bridge and very convenient to public transportation. The staff was wonderful. My wife had a medical issue, and the hotel provided a car to and from an urgent care center at no cost to us. The rooms were clean and spacious. We would gladly stay there again if we visit Budapest

The room was quiet and dark room with an amazing bed! The view was spectacular! The staff were so friendly, happy and helpful. The breakfast was outstanding-all future restaurant breakfasts will be measured by how good they are compared to here-most will fail. We arrived in Budapest by train, took the metro then walked 10 minutes to the hotel-it was so fast and easy. The location is excellent. Stay here!

We enjoyed our stay for 2 nights before boarding our Viking River cruise. The location is terrific! Super close to restaurants,shops, public transportation and sight seeing! Our room was clean and well appointed. Also very quiet with a view facing the river. We enjoyed the lounge before dinner both nights. The only challenge is the way they operate the elevator with your key card. We had friends staying on different floors and we couldn’t even go to their room to visit because of the elevator restrictions. I’m sure it’s for security reasons but it’s weird not being able to go to a different floor.

The room was beautiful and the view was stunning but not enough space for luggage ( I with my 2 young adult children) or room in the bathroom for toiletries. The breakfast buffet staff started vacuuming 30 minutes after breakfast finished and it felt a bit rushed but that was due to our attending later in the morning…so. The lounge was exceptional and I would travel again next time with out the extra adults!

The location on the Danube cannot be beat. The staff is very well trained, professional and courteous. A shout out to the front desk team for their top notch customer service. My room window was literally framing the Buda castle like a masterpiece. Would highly recommend for a great experience in this jewel of the Danube.

The room was nice and clean. View was beautiful! I didn’t like that they closed breakfast early and it was only buffet at $40 per person which is way too expensive. None of us could eat $40 worth of breakfast food. We went to the coffee shop where they had muffins, however they only had what was displayed which was 2 blueberry and 1 other flavor. Our whole group wasn’t there yet and nothing to eat for breakfast. I would have preferred breakfast à la cart and even if the coffee shop had to provide the breakfast food. It was not good that we had to start our day off where 2 of us had to split a muffin since there wasn’t enough to feed our group.

We had a wonderful experience at this hotel from start to finish. The staff was incredibly welcoming, professional, and always willing to help with anything we needed. Their attention to detail truly made us feel comfortable and well taken care of.
The room was spotless, spacious, and very well maintained, with comfortable beds and excellent amenities. Housekeeping did an outstanding job every day. The location is also perfect—convenient, quiet, and close to everything we wanted to explore.
Breakfast was fresh and delicious, with a great variety of options, and the overall atmosphere of the hotel was calm and inviting. You can really tell that the team takes pride in providing high-quality service.
We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for comfort, quality, and excellent hospitality.

Fabulous hotel. Staff were really friendly and polite and couldn’t have been more helpful. All
Spoke really good English which always makes me feel bad as I learnt a few Hungarian words and never used them! Rooms were clean and bed was really comfy. We upgraded to a river side view and the view of the castle at night all light up was lovely. We only had 48 hours in Budapest and the hotel was also in a great spot for us to do all we wanted in the short time. 10 mins from the Christmas markets, 20 mins from ruin bars, had a great walk to the castle over the bridge and then to the Fisherman’s bastion where there were more Christmas markets. And most importantly only 15 mins walk from the mini pig cafe which was my main reason for the trip :) hotel had some fab Christmas decorations too

Nice hotel, beautiful view of the Buda Castle from our room. The room itself was somewhat tired and could definitely use a lighting upgrade as there was one master switch that controlled the lighting for the whole room. We ended up unscrewing light bulbs for better lighting. Other than that we enjoyed our stay.

I had a fantastic experience at this hotel! The breakfast was delicious and offered a great variety, perfect to start the day. The staff were outstanding – friendly, helpful, and always ready to assist, which made the stay even more enjoyable. The location is ideal, close to everything you need and easy to get around.
I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking for comfort and great service!

The greatest central location for a tourist wanting to see Budapest. The food is average, plentiful breakfast buffet and something for all. Employees were kind and attentive. The hotel’s furnishings could use an immediate update. Wood finish was off on all edges, our tv didn’t work and we had to move rooms which is a hassle.

I booked a room with twin beds over 6 months before my visit and I had viewed the specific type of room online. These images quite clearly showed seperate beds, with their own headboard. However, what I was given what was quite clearly meant as a double room. Two single beds had been pushed together within the double headboard. The two single beds were covered with a double bed sheet, but then each bed had it's own single duvet cover.
I raised this issue in writing via messaging, but this hotel did not even bother to reply. As a customer, I felt disrespected by this non- reply.
On check out, I was asked about any issues, to which I reiterated all of the above. Hotel personnel claimed that they could have moved me to a twin room, if they had known about this?
I feel they need to improve on getting it right first time and not ignoring written texts that are sent.
I have travelled to many hotels around the world and never been treated in such a poor manner.
