The view from the roof top restaurant is very good. The view of the Olympian Zeus from the room is also good. Staff are kind and friendly.

The elevators are small. It is occupied with two people and two luggage. A bath room is small. Only few electric outlets are available.

Room appears old, probably time for a renovation. Our room had wrinkled wallpaper in the corner, probably from some kind of water issue. Our room was facing the Zeus site, which is a main street. Very noisy traffic. The breakfast was good and it is served on the rooftop, where there is a terrific view of the Acropolis.
Used the restaurant for a dinner, but we were not impressed by the food. Hotel is in a good location, close to the subway, museum and Acropolis entrance.

We had stayed at the Athens Gate Hotel in the past and enjoyed it very much. The rooftop patio and restaurant offered a great selection of delicious cocktails and meals along with a great buffet breakfast. The views from the restaurant are spectacular! The Acropolis and Parthenon are visible from one side and the Temple of Zeus from another. Within walking distance to a pedestrian walkway offering souvenirs, drinks, gelato and more. Restaurants are aplenty along the way as well as the Acropolis Museum further up.
Hop On Hop Off buses are also close by.
Staff are simply amazing! Helpful, courteous and knowledgeable. Check in went smoothly despite people checking in and out, cruise ship passengers coming and going. A comfortable seating area was available while we waited for our room to be ready which was made accessible to us prior to the 3pm check in time. Room was clean with comfortable beds, a large clean washroom and a view of the Temple of Zeus. A welcoming bottle of a nice white wine awaited us, courtesy of the hotel manager. As they say it is “your home in Athens.”

The location at the foot of the Acropolis is perfect with views that can’t be beat from the rooftop restaurant while you eat the included breakfast. The hotel is in a great location and walking distance to most Athens attractions. There are a lot of restaurants and bars within just a minute or two walk from here. The hotel itself was very nice. Inviting lobby. The entire staff was super friendly… from the front desk to the doormen to the cleaning staff.

There’s a restaurant on the eighth floor that offers a buffet breakfast and it’s included in your room rate. The food is really good and though it doesn’t vary that much it’s a nice breakfast option for sure. We had dinner one night at this restaurant and it was fantastic. The view is of the Parthenon all lit up and it’s spectacular. On the other side of the restaurant, the view is of the Zeus ruins, which are just a bunch of columns, but still pretty interesting to see from eight floors up. Food is excellent. We also had drinks up there a few nights, and they were great. The restaurant is very reasonably priced.

Our room was cleaned daily and hada safe and small refrigerator. Plenty of storage for clothing.There is a balcony; one thing I would suggest is that they put a chair two out on the balcony because it’s nice to sit outside and people watch. Instead, we stood out there and did that.

The hotel did not have coffee in the lobby On days that we were leaving early, we couldn’t get coffee before the restaurant opened at 7 AM. But this is not a big deal.

The hotel arranged airport transfer, and the drivers were on time. I will definitely stay at this hotel again.

Our room overlooked the Zeus Temple and other monuments. The room was nice and the bedding was comfortable. It fronted a main road and traffic noise was continuous throughout the day and night.

The breakfast in the rooftop restaurant was absolutely fabulous every morning, with an outstanding view of the entire city, accropolis and temle of Zeus.

Had a nice stay here, the staff were very friendly and helpful, food and drink were nice and the views were amazing!
Sadly the hotel restricted the air conditioning in the room so it was only fan or heat, which was inadequate and resulted in several nights of disturbed sleep with us having the balcony door open. We asked reception about it twice but they said no air conditioning only fan, which was as much use as an asthmatic blowing out a candle.

Only small downsides were street noise at night, but I brought earplugs.

It's a lovely hotel, with the basic amenities and a good breakfast buffet. WiFi is fast, water pressure is amazing, and the staff cleans your room daily, providing fresh towels. However I don't think they change your bedding unless you explicitly request it.

For the price, you're paying more for the location than hotel room frills. The hotel is in a really good spot, with lovely rooftop views of the Acropolis and the Temple of Olympian Zeus. It's also close to a metro stop and major bus/tram stops. Bonus points for being close to the pickup spot of Key Tours and a drop-off point for other tourist operators and is an ideal base if you want to explore Plaka and other surrounding neighbourhoods. Well-lit and it felt relatively safe to walk around at night.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Athens Gate Hotel! The location is unbeatable — literally steps away from the Acropolis entrance and within easy walking distance to the Acropolis Museum, Plaka, Monastiraki, Temple of Zeus, and most major cultural sites. We didn’t need to use public transport at all during our time in Athens.

The room was spotlessly clean, modern, and very comfortable, with great views of the Acropolis from higher floors. Everything felt fresh and well-maintained.

What really made our stay special, though, was the staff. Everyone we met — from reception to housekeeping to breakfast team — was genuinely friendly, helpful, and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Special thanks for the warm smiles and great local recommendations!

Air conditioning was not available and room was uncomfortably warm. When we called to ask if A/C could be turned on staff said it was not available this time of the year and suggested we open door to balcony to let cool air in. This then caused next problem of car and motor bike noise all night from main busy street below. Our first sleep experience in Greece after international flight was terrible as a result.

Our room was beautiful. If you can get room 701, go for it. The balcony wraps from the front to the back and we had an unobstructed view of Zeus' temple and the Acropolis. The room had a sitting area with two chairs and the bedroom was separate. The only issue I had, and this is because I'm a picky sleeper, it the pillows were a little to full for my liking. I would have preferred a softer feather pillow. Breakfast was delicious and the view is priceless. We ate dinner at the restaurant the night we arrived and it was very delicious, the shrimp pasta was very good. The location of this hotel is also very desirable, with the hop-on-hop off stop about 200 feet away, the Acropolis is a short less than five minute walk, and there's access to the metro system about three minutes walk. Also there are plenty of restaurants and shops just around the corner on the walk to both the metro and Acropolis. We had a wonderful time and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We will definitely be staying here on any future trips.

Everything was absolutely amazing in this hotel the staff was super friendly and knowledgeable. The location was perfect walking distance to shops restaurants you name it. It’s close but as if that wasn’t enough. The hotel room and beds were very comfortable not to mention the amazing buffet breakfast and the staff that serves it. What could be better than greeting each day with a beautiful view of the Acropolis I ask? Maybe ending each evening with a lit view of the Acropolis from the rooftop restaurant! We thoroughly and completely enjoyed our day and can’t wait to go back

2. Every staff member was exceptionally kind, warm, welcoming and helpful.
3. The rooftop restaurant is a magical visual tour de force with the cuisine chops to match! Evening views of an uplit Parthenon, anyone?
4. The perfect launchpad for countless excursions. Mere steps from 2 major tour companies! So the meeting points to head to island-hop or head to Meteora, etc were super accessible!
5. A quick jaunt to the markets, many fabulous restaurants, the park and shopping galore!

Convienent location and walkable to most historic locations, great breakfast, pleasant staff, ok room. For the price, it could have been a lot nicer. The baseboards were falling off and it was dated. It's very loud so be prepared for that. It's on a super busy road with lots of loud traffic. The parking they advertise isn’t ideal. There are a few tiny spaces up front and they say they have some else where but if you have anything bigger than a small car, you cant park your car there. So the parking isn't entirely as advertised but if you're lucky enough to get one of the spots, it's great! We parked right up front and it was wonderful.

A very conveniently located hotel with a good buffet breakfast included. Staff were helpful and room size was good. Noise and busyness to be expected from a central city hotel. A small lift, which takes a while to arrive but we were able to take the stairs! You also need to contact reception to switch on the a/c unit. An amazing view of the Acropolis! We felt we had made a good choice of hotel and would recommend it.
