Had an excellent stay at Raffles Seychelles. We got in early so they were able to allow us to stay in an open villa while we waited for ours to get ready and we were lucky to get ocean view of only for a short while. We were also able to stay a little longer in our villa upon departure as well.
Everything was amazing but especially loved seeing the Tortoises, the breathtaking views, and the wonderful staff from check in to transportation to the restaurants. Would highly recommend.

A little disappointing

Staff is outstanding, Villa is wonderful. Beach is very good. 3 downsides:
1- Breakfast area has broken AC (\"for a long time\" per one staff member) which makes it VERY hot inside especially when it is already VERY hot outside. Not very sanitary for the food either.
2- The breakfast quality is well below what one would expect at a hotel of that standing. Went to a hotel in Dubai right after this and the difference was noticeable.
3- The hotel is on a hill and it is inconvenient to have to call for a buggie every time you want to go somewhere in the resort.
Also, it is facing East so don't see the sunset.

The individual villas are fabulous, lovely views, fantastic plunge pool, beautiful inside, very private. The hotel is renovating gradually, which it does need to do, main restaurant & area outside it in particular need attention. Asian restaurant was excellent, main restaurant food was very average. Would return for those lovely private villas!

The resort is extremely hilly and requires a buggy service for which you must use the telephone in the rooms. However, the phone did not work and the management was aware of it without response when we checked in. Subsequently, we ended up walking. Also, the coffee pot in the room did not work so fresh brewed coffee in the morning no good.

Lovely views on Praslin

A lovely, spacious hilltop villa with amazing views across to Curieuse Island. We enjoyed the outdoor seating space and private plunge pool. Lovely Asprey toiletries. The property is large with a beautiful granite boulder-strewn beachfront. The daily included breakfast was always tasty and plentiful. Prices for other meals were high, and given the difficulty of getting off-property for other meals (unless you've rented a car), it makes sense to book half or full board. Service was often slow especially at lunch and dinner. Service at the pool and the beach was often nonexistant. We expected better at this price point.

We stayed in one of the beautiful panoramic villas which are well sized, have a nice pool and a spacious outdoor deck with beautiful sunset views. The beach is everything you would expect (soft sands, blue seas with fish) and are well maintained as are the over sized pool and sun deck. The staff are charming and helpful. There is a good choice of F&B options but they are good rather than exceptional. Would stay here again though.

The Raffles hotel in the island of the Seychelles was a really sad and terrible experience!

Falling apart are best two words to describe the situation it is currently suffering from. A failed management was to be blamed.

The service/Professionnalism of the staff is quite eye opening in the worst way imaginable The staff are rude with no training whatsoever for a so called luxury hotel. You feel they are being overworked therefore the effort and kindness naturally disappeares. It's so bad that it becomes difficult to explain it in a few words. A staff member that complains to their guest how bad things are in the resort tells a story by itself.

Food is quite a bad one too. Keep in mind our visit was after they started re-opening during Covid-19. One of the two restaurants in the resort was permanently closed. The choices of dishes and preparation was absolutely not acceptable and we tried to avoid eating at the hotel, leaving us with one option in the whole island of Praslin, \"Cafe des Art\" which still was a more decent venue compared to the hotel saved us for a few days at least its view overlooking the sunset did.

What would you call a hotel that would serve you a big glass bottle of water without any glasses of water or paper cups! There excuse was it isn't allowed. So we have to drink from the glass bottle. Who came up with this useless idea. All this with an attitude too making it even worse.

Location and property is stunning, however for a 5 star resort there were things that could definitely improve. Food was 3 star at best quality, deck boards in my villa were coming up, chips on coffee glasses at breakfast...etc. For paying this price every night you’d think the hotel would prioritize upkeep of the hotel.

Raffles Seychelles is fantastic. It is well deserving of urs five star rating. But it is aging in a few respects. The buggy cart paths throughout the property need to be power washed. The mortar holding together the rock walls has turned an ugly black. The wood decks all around the property are aging. They should be replaced with an ageless synthetic product like hardi-plank.

This property is located on the beautiful Praslin Island and has its own beach. We stayed at an oceanview villa and everything was on point. The villa was huge with its own pool, outside private shower, inside shower and soaking tub with a view of the bay. The amenities of the hotel are first class: gym, spa, 3 restaurants, bikes, beach sport equipment, etc. The hotel staff is amazing! Everyone is there to ensure all guests are treated special and receive a truly luxurious experience.

My husband and I stayed at Raffles for four nights at the end of our honeymoon and had a great time. The room was beautiful - spacious, clean, and comfortable - and we enjoyed a meal at all of the restaurants during the course of our stay. The food was expensive (most of the Seychelles are), but tasty, and the service was generally great and the ambiance very enjoyable. We felt safe, cared for, and relaxed and would definitely come back to Raffles on our next trip to Africa.

Raffles!! Our room was clean and neatly organised. We loved little notes, which were about traditions or rituals of seychelles, they give us after cleaning. All staffs were very friendly and nice; we appreciate especially to Richard in the reception desk. Foods were awesome, delicious, and well decorated. Spa/massage made us feel relaxed right away.

Overall, it's quite pricy but totally worth it!

Raffles is amazing. We spent two nights for our honeymoon and they were extremely accommodating, given our early arrival. Since we traveled in the offseason and it was our honeymoon, the manager was kind enough to upgrade our room to a partial ocean view and made our experience truly special.

The resort has gorgeous rooms, with a Nespresso bar, private pool, outdoor rain shower and even an easel for fun artwork! They also provide snorkel masks, paddle boards, kayaks and bikes to explore. We had the absolute best time.

Oh, and breakfast was AMAZING!!

The villas, beach and staff are all incredible. Panoramic villa had amazing view w tons of privacy. The beach has several different areas so you can create your own remote hangout. Staff did a great job of anticipating our needs several times without feeling too in your face. When we were there it was clearly not full, so we had all the space and attention we needed. We stayed at the other top brand 5 star and found this to be just as good if not better for less money.

What can we say about this wonderful place? We had an absolutely fabulous time. It has everything you need for a relaxing and peaceful escape from all your cares. The facilities are well maintained and presented. All the staff are exceptionally helpful and friendly and are willing go the extra mile. Special mention to Angele, Alla, Rita, John, Varun, Rashika, Mayur, Manzell, Uday, Margarita, the lady housekeeper from Nepal and the guy who delivered our room service from Bangladesh (forgot their names).

So much privacy! We were I the partial ocean view villa the first few nights and we literally couldn’t see any other villa or person from our villa! That is awesome for a honeymoon. Even walking around the property, there was minimal interactions with other people. We pretty much only saw other guests at meals and at the pool. There’s way more than enough beach to go around. The two of us really liked that you could always find a stretch of beach close by that only had the two of us.

Such amazing service! I loved that the hostess always knew who we were upon arrival at the restaurants. The buggy drivers are as good as any guide you can hire. Loved the turndown service that came with nightly desserts. Everyone greeted you with a smile but gave you as much space as you needed!

I can’t wait to return, or try another raffles resort. Highly recommend for people seaking privacy and a feeling of remote bliss!

Perfect Honeymoon Getaway

We had a pleasant experience while at the Raffles Seychelles hotel. The facilities are amazing and the service is outstanding. Staff was very friendly and accommodating with amazing response and attention to our needs and requests.

Some staff to mention are Jonathan at the Reception desk and the rest of the folks there, Esam at the Pool bar with his excellent service. The folks at that main restaurant during breakfast were very attentive and friendly.

One complaint about the place is the level of noise coming from the mechanical room with constant buzzing sound that pollutes the otherwise peaceful environment at the resort. Another, I wish the resort would provide objective recommendations in terms of transportation options to/from the resort. Residents should be able to request a taxi or be aware of other options that might meet their budget compared to the resort car or taxis that contract with the resort.

We would most certainly go back there and recommend it

Great hotel with a beautiful beach!!

This was our third resort during our stay in the Seychelles and was our favourite. The room was very nice and had a small plunge pool. The food was absolutely amazing and the hotel staff were so very kind. Only downside to this resort is that it is on the side of a large hill/mountain so the sun disappears around 430 pm.

Our favorite Island of Seychelles and awesome stay

It's our first visit to Seychelles and if we had known better we'd book more nights in Praslin. We love the island much more than Mahe and La dique. The local food was much better, and the Raffles hotel was also a highlight.

Beautifully located on a hill, the villa was really nice and the service was very good! They came to draw us a rose- bubble bath and the towel swans and sweets upon our arrival since it's our honeymoon made us quite happy.

The management also invited guests out for a cocktail which is a smart business move.

The pool in the villa is too small for two tall people to really swim. And sometimes the reception desk is too busy to take our call. It's worth for the hotel to invest in more buggy services or front desk staff to ensure guests get timely service.

Other than that, it's a hotel worth returning to!

My wife and I enjoyed our stay there, check in was easy/fast as well as check out, and all the staff are doing their best to make everyone comfortable. The resort and room facilities are all clean and well maintained, except our room TV was not working the first night due to weather I think, then the control panel beeps every few minutes annoyed me.
The hotel beach is somewhat shorter and narrower than what I have imagined, but it was fine since the view is beautiful wherever you go... and more to see if went on islands hopping.
Food/drinks are available in various restaurants in the hotel, so delicious and well served, we loved it. Around the hotel there is almost nothing, many places in the island closes about 5pm, with very few places can be found to eat ! am glad that I rented a car and kept driving around to find places. Back to the room again, personally I like music in the background wherever I stay, and there was no any kind of stereo of phone docking, also TV channels did not have a dedicated radio, so my iPhone did the job, but the amenities are great and WIFI is everywhere ^_^

Sublime but outrageously expensive food and drinks

The location, the rooms, each with own small pool, and the wonderful staff were sublime. What was difficult for me was the outrageous cost of food and drink. It is incredibly expensive Otherwise, it was wonderful. We paid SCR 70 ($5.25) for cans of soda and SCR 1,400 each for the food portion only of a buffet--which was excellent but at $100 it should have been amazing. We are not used to luxury travel so maybe this is normal for others but it was shocking to me. Outside the hotel a soda costs $1 or $2 and meals varied but under SCR 1,000 including starter, two entrees and 2 glasses of wine. Or we could get take-away meals for $5.00 each. You need a car if you want to go other places. The Seychelles are an expensive place but the hotel took that too new heights. Nevertheless, loved the Raffles. It was a great stay.

Nice views but terrible service/staff

Food: Dinner at Losean was not great. Expect overcooked seafood and mediocre to poorly executed dishes if you're a foodie. The poolside food and the breakfast spread were a bit better. Terrible service at Losean. I waited over 30 min before someone would take my order.
Service: Wow. I've never experieneed such terrible staff etiquette in any hotel or accommodation I've stayed at in my entire life. This definitely ruined the experience. From the moment I got there until the day I left, I experienced a lot of racism. There wasn't any ill intention, but it's just blatant unconscious racism that's very annoying. If you don't look white or black, they will just openly say things or do things that are racist. For example, I gave them my US passport and they printed out a piece of paper to fill in the rest of my information. The only two pieces of information that were printed was my name and \"China\" as my place of residence bc they were certain of that information. Hmmm. What about my US passport says I live in China?? I had to cross that out and write in US as my place of residence. They also kept asking me where I'm from and replying oh your English is very good. Excuse me??? Additionally, you have to ask for things multiple times. At check out the night before, I asked for breakfast and a taxi to the airport for my early morning flight but of course neither of those were done. A couple of staff members made rude comments in addition to the racist ones.

Also 2 restaurants close because of a tandoori night. we reserved at one of the restaurants and the reservation was confirmed but when we went down to the restaurant it was close and only offered an Indian buffet. it was extremely disappointing and ever priced. my husband got sick that night because of the food.

Overall nice resort but room for improvement

We were supposed to stay 4 nights at this resort but ended up staying 6 nights after my wife became ill. The service here varied dramatically. Most of the staff were very friendly and interested in chatting with us and offering good service. However, some staff were frumpy or just plain rude, which you don't expect in a property of this standard. Food was generally good but probably not up to the standard you would expect for the price.

Breakfast is disappointing there's no peanut butter and chocolate. Some of the staff are rude and they don't reply if you say \"good morning\". I made my reservation via expedia and they charged my credit card 3 times more expensive than the price difference I saw on expedia. And they cheat customers by saying they provide room upgrade although there is no room upgrade.

I made a reservation for a partial ocean view villa and as any expedia elite plus member I was expecting a room upgrade. They told me that they upgraded my room and they gave me a full ocean view villa. But after a few days I realized that the room they gave me was partial ocean view and there was no room upgrade. another problem with this hotel is their prices are not standard. A receptionist gave me a price for a boat trip but after one day another receptionboat gave me different price for the exactly same boat trip. In addition to these facts I was also overcharged by the hotel and they did not refund.

They overcharged me for room upgrade

The hotel is generally expensive but nice. The only problem I saw is there is only one piece of butter in the breakfast and there is no chocolate and peanut butter for the breakfast. Another and more serious problem is they cheated me about room upgrade. I booked for a partial ocean view room and I was expecting a room upgrade as I an expedia elite plus member and during checkin they told me they gave me an upgraded room but after a few days I realized that the room I got was partial ocean view and there was no upgrade. I told them about this issue but they did not compensate their fault. I don't recommend this hotel to anyone. There are more trustworthy hotels in the island.

Amazing Views! Excellent service!

Amazing stay! We were upgraded to the Panoramic Ocean view Villa and it was breathtaking! The Villa is large in size and has a nice outdoor veranda with beds and furniture. Very nice showers - indoor and outdoor! The service at Raffles is impeccable. They are always available to attend to our needs and the buggy service was fairly quick to get us down to the beach or the restaurants. The beach has some decent snorkeling, but it was a private beach with no crowds at all. Though we had only breakfast at the Raffles, it was really an excellent breakfast. We tried local creole foods in nice restaurants on Praslin. Excellent stay at an amazing resort! Of course visiting Anse Lazio was a highlight - very short drive from Raffles. We rented car and it was easy to get around from Raffles to anywhere on Praslin.

Beautiful setting and wonderful accommodation

The hotel is set up on a hillside in beautiful tropical gardens. The hill is steep so you go everywhere by golf buggy which is fun. The hotel pool is the best I have ever seen - huge and like a river in a tropical garden. The hotel has its own private beach which is near the pool. The only thing we missed was good snorkelling. There are some fish but no coral on this side of the island.

The staff are incredibly helpful and friendly. The breakfast is excellent. I would recommend half board as the cost of other meals is very high.

Overall it was a memorable stay and we will definitely be back.

Luxury Resort with some challenges

Great views on small white sand beach. The layout is awkward as the bar, restaurant and spa feel disconnected. The staff appear to cover several jobs. Well set-up for in room dining on your private terrace. Not so well set-up for standard service - we went for an early morning execursion and came back wanting just coffees. The main bar was closed, the main restaurant said we need to get the buffet to have just coffee, the pool bar was getting set-up but would accommodate 2 lattes. After settling the bill these lattes were for 4 times a Starbucks Latte!
We are foodies and the food is not that exciting - standard fare feels like the low quality food you get at an all exclusive in the Caribbean.

A Unicorn in Seychelles

When I booked this vacation, I had imagined a quiet, relaxing and intimate 5 day holiday with my wife, and that was exactly what we got.
We checked into a private pool villa that had absolutely the most breathtaking view of the bay.
The private pool villa is the standard size and it was spacious with great washroom and indoor and outdoor showers.
The villa's pool and terrace were the deal breakers, coffee by the pool every morning...
The beach area is small but super clean, bring a book because you will be either in the water or on your sun bed completely relaxing.
The Raffles staff were super friendly, courteous and professional, ask for Front desk manager Luc or/and the Hotel's manager Brigite, who personally ensured that we lacked nothing. we left heavy-hearted...looking forward to coming back 100%!

The staff referred to us by name after the first day. Friendly, courteous and professional service was provided at all times. Our preferenes were remembered and implemented each day without our asking i.e. I was served a latte each morning with grapefruit juice and my husband's coffee cup was removed because he doesn't drink coffee or tea in the mornings. This is probably one of the most expensive hotels in which we have stayed even compared to The One and Only in Mauritius and Cape Town; however, the staff do everything possible to ensure you have a wonderful relaxing time.

Amazing Service, Luxury Property

This is an amazing hotel in a wonderful location, idyllic scenery, beautiful beaches. The whole concept from design to architecture, circulation to service is really well done and managed. The service is fantastic and this is something which we understand from reading reviews of other locations in Seychelles, is rare. We felt like royalty throughout this holiday. There were one or two minor issues when using the spa, however, comments were received by staff and assured they would address them. The hotel is really suitable for couples and families.

Impeccable 5 star service

I don't even know where to begin with this review. We travelled to the Seychelles from the United States and stayed at this Raffles in Praslin for 7 nights for our 10th wedding anniversary with our son who's 7yrs old. From the moment we arrived I knew we had made the right decision. Check-in was flawless, our room had the most amazing view of the Indian Ocean and was clean and smelled fresh. All of the staff are incredibly friendly and there to make sure you want for nothing. For our anniversary our butler created the most stunning decoration on our bed (and even did something for our little guy). I want to recognize the outstanding service we received from Marie (kids club), Chef Julian, who was just great with our son, Edmond at the pool who was extremely attentive, Shannick our buggy driver from time to time, our butler who made sure our room was always in tip top shape, Efna who made our travel arrangements and really just all of the staff who should be commended for just being really warm, wonderful people. Our only complaint is tied to cost of food (just way too expensive even for us from NYC) and drinks that were just too watered down (although this was adjusted after we complained). Overall we really enjoyed our stay and will now look for Raffles hotels wherever we travel.

Perfect choice for couple.

It was great vacation and nice hotel I really recommend it for anyone who wants relaxing.

But you have to be careful with the booking because the taxes and service fees about 27% are not included in the room rates even if it shows in the booking. That what happened to me.

Excellent, friendly resort in idyllic location.

As with all good businesses, the staff made this holiday something truly memorable and great. Without exception all staff were friendly and professional. As guests, our every need was catered for and often anticipated; nothing was too much trouble. The accommodation and facilities were first class. We very much enjoyed the resort beach where the swimming and snorkeling have only been equaled by our experience in the Maldives. We will definitely be returning in the future.

Lovely hotel. And the staff were awesome, particularly Marina (office manager) & Daniel (driver).

However the food was very limited and def not 5 star standard. No black out blinds in the room. And the the sunbeds on the villa terrace were very basic - Normally nice soft double sunbeds in a luxury villa hotel of this price.

Stayed in many high end villa (with pool) resorts which do things much better than Raffles Praslin.

Six Senses is opening up on the next island very soon and will surely do things perfectly. Will be heading there when they open.

Seychelles is absolute paradise.

Excellent location, lovely villa with great ocean view, plunge pool. Our room attendant was fantastic and made our room look wonderful on our anniversary. Couple of issues when we arrived but the managers went out of their way to ensure the rest of our stay was a proper \"Raffles experience\". Staff were very good and the dining was excellent, very good chefs. They really did work hard at making sure you had a good stay, Definitely recommend.

A pleasant surprise in store

After a short bus ride with some other stops on the way from the ferry port Raffles suddenly appears on the horizon, a bold venture with much interest and support. Cold towels and a welcoming soft drink await you prior to check in, on completion a deposit against your incidentals is requested, in my case it was 27000.00 rupees or approx 1350.00 pounds against a stay of 9 days.Raffles is expensive if you spend all your time at the resort it will cost about 100.00 pounds a head per day, there is a 10% service charge and 16.5% tax added to your bill.

The staff were excellent and you move around the site by golf cart which is on call on request by telephoning reception, sometimes there was a brief delay but not more than 10 minutes at peak times.

The villa was above expectation, magnificent view, beautifully appointed and all facilities. I would perhaps raise the small problem I had with the raised bed area as in the night I placed my legs over the side of the bed where I picked up a mat on a polished floor on the floor and found myself two steps down on the floor with a very bruised knee. In speaking to other guests I was not alone in my experience. The small plunge pool worked well and the room layout including the patio were ideal, there was some road noise from the ring road traffic early morning and evening but the cars and buses were few and far between. There was a daily news sheet delivered every evening with fresh fruit or similar.

We chose this place for our honeymoon. We loved everything about this beautiful place. We had a pleasant & memorable time. We received an upgrade to the panoramic ocean view villa because of my gold + member status with expedia. The place was amazing. I highly recommend it for honeymooners who seek privacy. As a muslim woman, I was able to enjoy the private swiming pool and was able to get tan in this private villa which was overlooking a breath taking view. The staff were so kind and helpful. I can not thank Brigette (Zinab) enough for arranging trips and transportation in Praslin amd Mahe Islands.

The first impression was excellent. The location is wonderful with amazing views. Later you realize there are small glitches that could be improved. From my villa the sound of the generator was a background presence during my whole stay. In general, the staff was very attentive and helpful but I had two problems with the reception desk. I requested a booking for dinner and a contact with a car rental company and surprisingly no action was taken. By the way, room service was impeccable and dining at Losean restaurant was a very pleasant experience.

Wonderful Stay!!!

Extremely wonderful stay. Excellent views of the sea from the Panoramic view room with a very comfortable deck to sit and relax. The in-room pool was also a lot of fun. The location of the hotel is very convenient from the other good attractions in Praslin (Zimbabwe Point & Anze Lazio beach). Though, the town center and the market is some distance away - however, if you hire a car from the Airport itself, its not too much travel time. For vegetarians specifically, there is not much variety in the food - non-veg had a very good spread. Wish there we some interesting vegetarian dishes on the menu. Overall, a very good stay experience.
