Really nice clean room, a tiny bit of normal wear and tear. The line for the front desk was always busy so we couldn’t request more towels unless we went down ourselves. Pool and gym were nice and seemed really clean.

Courteous staff. Location is perfect. Close to downtown Portsmouth, nearby shopping plazas and right off the highway. Free breakfast was a plus, room was spacious and comfortable with a kitchenette!

The room was spacious. The breakfast was great. They had everything but a waffle maker. The pool was smaller than expected. 15 people max at a time. The only thing that I didn’t love was how paper thin the walls were. You could hear other guests very easily.

The heating and cooling system was frustrating. It was hard to get it to the right temperature. Either it was too warm or it was blasting very cold air. There wasn't a way to have it blow cool air gently. Thus I was either too cold or too warm.

Definitely quiet, the staff was friendly. The rooms furniture was chipped, dented, and stained. The non stick pots in the kitchen were flaking from over use and abuse. The room was disappointing and one of the worst and most expensive homewood suites rooms I've seen to date.

We had an okay stay at this property. The positives were the free breakfast, the comfort of the bed, the cleanliness of the lobby, and the decorations. The negatives were that our room’s bathtub was dirty, the pool was freezing cold as well as the pool room and unusable, our room smelled like marijuana, and the ceilings were not sound-proof. Our upstairs neighbors were stomping at all hours.

I checked in for an overnight stay with my family and the room we reserved was dirty and smelled like cigarette smoke. The staff tried to re-clean but it didn't work and they had no rooms to move us to. The manager, Kirar, promised a full refund but never refunded the money and now is unreachable. I don't ever leave bad reviews but this is just too much to ignore.

This was one of the dirtiest rooms I’ve ever gotten on a reservation. Semen stains on the duvet cover, mystery mold in the shower, beard or pubic shavings in drawers and along headboard of bed. Sheet was inside out, was it actually fresh? Dirt in the refrigerator, food and dirt along floors where the vacuum doesn’t reach. Elevators full of dog urine and hair and just plain smelly. When the front desk was confronted with the problem they handed me a card and told me to call the manager. The manager never answered or called back. Every surface was gross. It looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in weeks at the breakfast buffet. I chose not to eat. I stay in a LOT of hotels and this was hands down one of the grossest next to a super 8 in a cruddy neighborhood. I mean I took another shower when I got home. NOT what I was expecting out of a hotel in the Hilton family. Not even an apology from a manager. Although I’m not surprised because the front desk person was too busy trying to pay their credit card via phone when I complained… won’t be returning, and probably will never use the homewood group again.

Adequate hotel. Nice facilities and location. The TV remotes didn't work and I had to climb up to unplug it from the wall. There was mildew in the bathroom, I notified the front desk but nothing was done. Not enough sheets in the room for the pull out bed and had to call down for more. Morning breakfast was short-staffed a few times and hard to get utensils and plates, no waffles are served on weekdays FYI.

The staff was great, but the property is mediocre. The room was missing a few amenities; bathing soap and firm pillows. The pillows were very flat and the room was just mediocre clean. Hotels need to go back to the days when rooms are cleaned every day. I felt like I was staying at an because I was the one getting my towels and toiletries every day. A Hilton hotel used to feel special. It didn’t feel this way to me.

Garbage bags left in hallways and in front of elevators by room service or maintenance which cause hallways to smell like trash. Maintenance man doesn't wear deodorant so didn't know what smelled worse. Him or the garbage. Photo was taken of our hallway view. When front desk was informed, I was told staff went home. So I moved the garbage bag in front of the elevators instead of being in front of our door!!

Unfortunately, our first suite was dirty. I am not a picky traveler, but the one thing I look for is cleanliness in a hotel. Upon arrival to our first room, I could immediately tell it wasn't up to par. The Fridge (we had a full kitchen in the suite) was filthy, the kitchen floor had spills all over it, crumbs everywhere. The Carpet had crumbs on it. One bed wasn't made properly, looked like the comforter had just been pulled up. Upon opening it up, it was indeed dirty (hair on the sheets), and the tub had hairs in it. Whomever cleaned this room - DIDN'T clean the room!

The good news is when I called down, the hotel staff immediately rectified the situation and moved us to another room. The new room was as expected, clean and after that our stay improved greatly. I do appreciate the hotels quick response.

Horrible- do not waste your money

Extremely dirty. Hair all through bed sheets, smelled as if they hadn’t been cleaned. Toilet had feces/urine. Tub was dirty with hair and black mold on edges. Towels had pubic hairs all through them. The noise level was awful. It sounded like those above us were going to come right through the ceiling. Loud stomping and banging at all hours of the night. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

We went there to spend a family weekend get away for one night. The room we had was great and amenities was awesome. I do have a complain with my check in experience and the front desk service for the rest of the night. This person was not happy to help us at all. He didnt seem like he want to be there at all. Later in the evening I when down to ask for extra towels. He took it out of the closet and just kind of throw it at me and said nothing or even make eyes contact and took off. I did not appreciate that type of service at all. For a hospitality facility he sure not showing hospitable. I was disappointed for the service with this person.

Neighbours on top floor were banging and jumping till almost 1am. We tried to call front desk a couple of times, but since only 1 person was on duty overnight we couldn’t reach anyone. Smoke detectors in every room were blinking right into our faces every few seconds and we couldn’t sleep well. Our bath tub was dirty with standing water. For the second night we did get opportunity to shower in another room. Overall, this is one of the worst maintained Hilton properties we’ve seen.

Did only thing I like was the location. The Hotel rooms need some serious updates. Matress was terrible. Bathtub very deteriorated. It could be cleaner and had a musty smell. Garbage in hallway near elevator was very unpleasant.

We arrived early and were asked to check in after 2:30.We did. The room was clean and well-stocked. The bed was less than uncomfortable. Breakfast the next morning was better than average we went out and enjoyed Portsmouth. We got back after 3 and our room was not done. I called the desk and was told Housekeeping would be informed. One-half hour later we went looking for Housekeeping and were given some towels and apologies. We were tired and told them not to bother to come to the room, but that we would leave the dirty towels out in the hall. They were never picked up. The staff was friendly, and the place is away from the noise and bustle, but there is room for improvement.

The room was as expected but it was not properly stocked. There were no skillets, cutting knives, forks in the kitchen. There were no sheets for the pull out bed in the room. The phone wasnt working so we had to go all the way to the lobby to request items. The measuring cup was in the cupboard and was not cleaned.

The Homewood Suites provided nice spacious rooms. We had a 1 bedroom suite, with two queen beds. The room is spacious! The lounge area downstairs is very nice. There is outdoor seating and grills for the summer...

Lovely! We would stay here again.

We were there 7 days. Our room was never cleaned and no fresh towels were provided. The garbage can outside the door was never cleaned and garbage piled up for 7 days. It was a mess.
The pool area was clean and small towels were available there. Breakfast area was clean and well stocked. Staff neglected to tell us at check in our room was right next to an exit and the parking lot and suggested we bring in our stuff the long way thru the lobby and down to the end of the hall. We discovered that once we found our room. Then it was very convenient!!
It was great to have a pet friendly room.

The property was nice, the front desk attendant that checked us in was beyond rude, acted as if we were bothering him. I looked away for a moment while hecwas getting the pad ready for my debit card (to get a depisit for incidentals) i didn't slide my card in fast enough and he snapped \"would you put your card in\" we asked about places to check out and he was rudely said \"there are maps right there, I'm not from here\"
If I hadn't stayed in ho.ewood suites before I probably wouldn't again based on his customer service!

Expedia states that check-in time is 3pm. It's 4pm. Room still wasn't ready. The TVs only get minimal network channels and logging into Netflix/Prime isn't possible. Also the TV can't be angled to see from the bed or the couch. The mattress was terrible. The HVAC system was super noisy all night. I was charged more than my Expedia price.

This was our first time in Portsmouth and we liked the proximity of everything. The start was very accommodating during check in and allowed us to check in a little bit early , they also suggested some local things to go and see . The room was clean and a good size. The bed was very comfortable and the room was well kept. We didn’t use the gym or indoor pool but the gym is 24 hours which is great.
