The hotel is ok - nice palazzo - and staff nice, but the surrounding area is very dirty. It also includes streets with prostitutes, and feels somewhat unsafe.
We had to switch rooms upon our arrival as the first room we were given looked quite bad- it clearly had not been renovated for numerous years.

Palazzo Caracciolo has been our go-to hotel for over a decade whenever we visit Naples, we go there once a year since my family leaves there. The staff is consistently fantastic, always helpful and courteous. Gennaro DS is the best!

The staff were so miserable and unhelpful - forgetting our spa booojg altogether, trying to charge us double for a taxi to the airport that was meant to be included in the package and they never smiled and weren’t welcoming. The breakfast staff were lovely, however. And the breakfast was good.

The rooms were okay, but outdated, they charged us random prices for drinks - charging double one night for drinks we’d had the previous night. It was chaotic and not restful.

The city itself is pretty awful and this seemed to be carried through into the hotel.

The rooms are clean an spacious. BUT, beware that there is no pool. The hotel and Expedia know for years that the hotel description is a not true and they won't do anything. The hotel has Spa that cost a minimum of 15Euro pP extra and is not suitable for children. I just gave the hotel a 5star so other people see the review. I would not recommend leaving the hotel after dark.

We were very happy with this hotel. The staff were very friendly and went out of their way to make our stay wonderful. The only negative I have to say is the elevator/lift situation was difficult with my 77 year old mother and her walker. Certain lifts only went to certain areas of the hotel. The signs for the lifts were not well visualized.

A really disappointing hotel.

Despite booking a superior room, I was placed in annex room on the fourth floor which looked nothing like those publicised on the hotels.com website. The room was noisy due to being in the roof with wallpaper coming off the walls.

Communal areas were also soulless and the general area surrounding the hotel was not pleasant.

The hotel was so bad that an early check out and refund was attempted, however, the hotel refused.

In summary, I would not recommend and suggest significant due diligence.

The Hotel its self had a nice entrance, descent rooms, bed super soft with a lump in the middle. Sink was leaking from under the sink.
We did not feel like the front desk staff was attentive, and we had a language barrier. Our last day we had a nice lady that spoke English.
We had just come from Rome and were completely spoiled with hospitality- we did not get that here.
And since we felt uncomfortable with the area - it would have been nice to have some guidance on where to go.
We did feel safe inside the hotel.

A wonderful 7 nights spent in a beautiful Italian palace turned into a fabulous hotel. The neighbourhood was a bit rough and devoid of nice restaurants but the Palazzo’ restaurant was wonderful. The staff were brilliant and friendly and helpful and we will definitely return

The property is quite spectacular, though the neighborhood is somewhat rough (garbage, traffic, laundry, etc…)

There was no hot water in the shower, and the hot tub was out of service.

Dining on the property was a fantastic experience.

We have 2 rooms back side with no sunlight, windows has view of restaurant, covered by canopy. 3 days we come only for late sleep, feel sad when go in rooms , breakfast joke no potatoes , they bring check middle of breakfast force to sign , like I am running away. My fiancé came with me one day she not want breakfast they watching her are she having breakfast . Never recommend

Does not have a pool despite a swimming pool being mentioned multiple times on the Expedia page. Annoyingly only just seen that someone else has talked about this in a review from December - and yet the page has still not been updated. Has a jacuzzi in their spa area which was closed when we were there. Room was large but not inviting - it felt in much need of work with chipped furniture, wardrobe doors coming off hinges and limescale covering all the bathroom fixtures. Air con wasn’t great. Not as luxurious as made out online. Common areas of hotel were quite nice but very business focused. Confusing layout with confusing signage, wasn’t that easy to find our room. Staff were polite. Not in a very nice area. As others have said, I would recommend skipping Naples altogether and heading straight to Sorrento/Amalfi coast/Capri. If a night in Naples is required then I would recommend a stay by the coast, in the area near Castel dell’Ovo, for a much more enjoyable experience.

I honestly cannot commend the staff more. The staff at the hotel is resourceful and cordial, especially Carmine, the receptionist,s and Alessandro, the busboy, but the overall experience was extremely disappointing. There is no WIFI in the rooms, I repeat no WIFI a common feature in most hotels now. We asked serveral times and always received the same response ,,,, \"Let's see, we are working on it\" etc. It seemed like a script that a corporation had told them to say whenever a guest complains about it. There is only WIFI in common areas. If you want WIFI don't stay at this hotel property.
To make matters worse, there was a construction ( we have a video) all night long the first night we got there, and we were not able to sleep. The next day, they blamed the air conditioner. Not cool. Don't pay for the \"balcony\" as the view is basically the back of the building and not worth it. Hugely disappointed and would have preferred a refund and to stay somewhere else. The hotel does not have a pool as the images suggest and the features list. It was a small sauna that you have to pay additionally for. Very misleading. Exdpedia should adjust the features and images for this hotel because it does not match its claims. Again, If I could have gotten a refund I would have stayed somewhere else.

The hotel is very nice. Our room was very clean and comfortable. Hotel has a beautiful section for dining. We had breakfast included which was an amazing spread.
Location is well suited for exploring the historical sites however we questioned whether it was safe for walking… Most of the staff was very helpful and friendly. My experience with the reception area wasn’t pleasant. Not so helpful at checkout, rude, seemed also impatient.

Rooms were okay, they were clean and served a purpose. Would not recommend Naples to anyone - it is very disappointing as a city and not as nice as the other cities in Italy. There is very high unemployment in Naples, graffiti everywhere and rubbish overflowing. The front desk was rude on arrival and the waitress at breakfast was very rude to us when we explained that we had free breakfast and had paid extra for this online - she phoned the front desk and spoke in Italian to him saying “free breakfast, bla bla bla” which was extremely rude. We then had to go to the front desk to clarify and he was also rude and spoke in Italian to a bystander (presumingly about us by the tone of his voice). They do not seem to like the English very much there.

Go to Sorrento - it is absolutely lovely, the people there are friendlier, the atmosphere is wonderful, food is better and the sunsets are stunning.

This is the place to stay if you want a nice hotel with big rooms and friendly staff. The area around it is not great but the staff helped us get taxis and it felt safe while on the grounds. Breakfast was very good but not amazing. Taxis about 15 Euros to get to most places My brother stayed at the Renaissance which seemed like a nicer hotel (great upstairs rooftop bar/restaurant) but he paid $200 more per night. We were in town for his son’s event so he wanted a fancy place

The hotel needs some work. Our ac unit barely worked and we couldn’t open the window, so our room was incredible hot and stuffy. The facilities need to be renovated. There’s worn out furniture in the hallway, tile falling off in the bathroom. The one positive was that the staff was amazing! Hilton needs to put some money into this hotel because it has the potential to be great. The courtyard area is nice and a quiet relief from the extremely noisy city.

First off the room was nothing like the pictures. Next, literally loose tiles in the bathroom. Next, no hot water in the shower. So many more issues but I will be taking it up with Expedia how they are allowing this hotel to operate on their platform. And Hilton, is there no quality control? How this hotel is still operating is beyond me.

The staff was more interested in socializing among themselves rather than addressing their guests, and when they would have a break between their chit chatting they would be rude to the guests. Literally the worst stay I have ever had anywhere in Europe. Avoid like the plague.

A royal gem in Naples

Let me start with the fact that I don’t like Naples. But this hotel is like an island inside the not so inviting city. Used to be a real palace that turned into a luxurious hotel. When you walk to your room you really feel the royal atmosphere. Everything is new, clean and of excellent design, inside and outside the room. And the service is one of the best I’ve seen in many countries. The perfect choice if you ever in Naples.

Centrally located, the hotel is within walking distance of the historical center. Room was large but mattress was not great. TV had no foreign speaking channel at all, which is surprising for a Hilton hotel and one for business people. Also only one international plug in the room.

Nice hotel in a not so great area.

This hotel grew on me. The room wasn’t warm and inviting, but I liked the high ceilings. There were lovely parts of the hotel we did not have time to explore. It was disappointing to have the “pool” be only a jacuzzi that closes early and was closed completely on Christmas Day. I book hotels to specifically use the pool and gym. Otherwise it was nice. It is in a not so great neighborhood. Lots of men just hanging out in front of stores late at night. There is a laundromat down the street you can do coin operated self-service.

A scam hotel not as described on website

Not at all as described. We booked the hotel because of the hot tub and sauna which I wanted to use every day. Nothing on the website explained this had to be pre-booked for a large fee, and that it would frequently be booked up. I was there for five days and we never got to use the hot tub or sauna. False advertising. Service was absolutely appalling. The room was only made up for one person, and when we asked for a second bathrobe for my partner they never provided it, after repeated requests. To top off a terrible stay, they have now charged an additional £1,100.50 to my card, 24 hours after we checked out. The total bill of £1400+ was charged to my card at check out, and after repeated calls to the hotel, they keep simply denying that they made this charge and have been very rude over the phone. So now I am having to take time after my business trip to have very rude hotel staff tell deny that this charge was made. I travel to Italy several times per year and this was simply the worse hotel experience I have ever had in 20 years of business travel to the country. Book this terrible over-priced hotel if you enjoy rude staff,outright lies about what amenities the hotel has, and being charged almost double 24 hours after check out. After hours on the phone to both my hotel and the bank, the hotel has yet to do anything to apologise, refund the £1100.50 or make any attempt to rectify this situation.

I don't know if the rooms they keep for Expedia customers are the very bottom or what, but based on my room this is NOT a four star hotel. This is a 3-star hotel. First of all, I ONCE AGAIN found dark hair on the floor of my bathroom, in the room by my bed and under the desk. There was no bidet. The weird half glass partition that one finds in Europe didn't keep the floor from getting very wet every time I showered. I just left another towel on the floor to catch the water. At one point, I was being hit on by the staff in the hallway which I ignored. There are lots of stairs to get to the lobby. Luckily, there was someone to help me with my bags. The room was nice and bright but very shabby. The bed was a bit lumpy & sunk in on one side. Overall, I will NOT be staying at this place again. Nor can I recommend it.

While it is walkable, there are a number of very dark and narrow alleys to walk through to get to some of the main streets. I took a taxi just to avoid those.

The public areas, reception, bar, restaurant etc are GORGEOUS and the staff, professional, helpful and friendly. We had 3 rooms..all in theory of the same grade but one, in particular, was much larger and with large balcony. In one roon, the overhead shower was unuseable but the hand held one fine. Only 1 loo roll - a little stingy.

The food - we only had bar snacks and breakfast, were excellent. The air-conditioning v efficient. The barman was a delight and he made an excellent Aperol Spritz.

The area around the hotel is not one of Naples finest...we discovered much nicer and more salubrious options.

This was a great hotel in a very good location. Very walkable with access to restaurants, tourist attractions, churches. You name it. Not overly far from the port for ferry rides to Capri or Positano or Amalfi, and a 10-minute walk to the train station. Professional and courteous staff made the stay all the better. Had a great room with an ice cold AC so that helped as well.

The Palazzo Caracciolo is a stunning hotel. Everywhere is immaculately clean, the rooms are nicely furnished, have great air conditioning and are very comfortable. Everything is provided for a comfortable stay and the hotel has great facilities. The staff are fantastic, very friendly and exceptionally helpful. Any queries we had, information we needed or just booking taxis were dealt with immediately and in such a helpful manner. The area the hotel is in isn't the best and occasionally my daughter and myself felt a little unsafe so used taxis all the time.

Look elsewhere for luxury!

The hotel needed a full refurb about 15 years ago, and looks very tired, and amenities are now falling very short of 2024 expectations. No usb plugs, flaky WiFi, old stained carpets, and a general air a neglect. The shower cubicle looked very old. The staff did the best it could but management seems to keep the income and underinvest in the facilities. Avoid!

Super quiet rooms at night. Found the rooms extremely basic with furniture for the cost we paid. Toiletries not replenished daily or crockery or glasses. We had to rinse these out our selves. Not impressed that you had to pay extra to use the spa as a resident.

This really looks like a luxury hotel at an affordable price. Parking super easy with valet, and helpful front desk. The room was so nice and big with a lovely balcony. 1 thing I found not good was that I asked for ice and they didnt have any. Told me to go to the bar and it was closed. This is a simple thing to have. There is also a restaurant there and its very expensive. Not that many amenities included. But in a very bustling area, it’s a nice and comfortable stay.

A beautiful hotel, the room was really great with the most comfortable bed ever, the room was spacious as was the bathroom. Breakfast selection was fantastic with good service.
The hotel’s location is on a lively street & can be noisy but it was perfectly positioned for visiting key sights.

We had a great stay. Easy walk from the train station and close to everywhere we wanted to go. The hotel was clean, rooms were nice - all in all a great place and we would return.

Can walk to Archaeology Museum

This hotel is within 15 minute walking distance of the Naples Archaeology Museum, on the edge of the historic City Center. Our room was clean, and had a terrace. We had problems with transfers. The taxi from the Capri ferry to the hotel was a no-show, and it took many tries to get confirmation for our early airport transfer.

Property is a great historical building but the area is definitely sketchy. Husband was hit by a scooter and luckily he didnt get hurt.
