Access to hotel AND HOTEL is identical to pre-Covid-19 conditions (workers at bridges over creeks doing nothing while guests drive through mud; recommend 4-wheel drive). Hotel room services are for 1-2 star hotels (we brought our own supplies). Air conditioner filter moldy; never cleaned. Beach access path AND pool walkway area dangerous at night; requires solar lighting. Sadly, the latter is mandatory to reach the restaurant from room using front or rear approach; second time I have been injured at this hotel. Of note, my first injury still remains and that was before COVID-19. Final word: photograph everything in room before touching anything (especially windows and each side of pillows and sheets, including closet); then repeat when leaving. Announce this at check-in and then refuse the $50 breakage fee.

Clean, solid wifi, good AC, comfortable bed. Could not use TV because Google wanted something that I probably didn't have and definitely didn't understand.

Restaurant was inconsistent; same meal consecutive days - first day awesome, second day bad. Red Snapper was exceptional the one time I had it.

Owner seems to skimp on AC in public areas to save money. He also lives above the lobby, for what that's worth.

The rooms were adequate, i did ask if there were rooms with mini fridges and it required an upgrade, i was pleasantly surprised to find they had put a fridge in the room, very nice, staff were excellent all around, beach was beautiful and vast, a few loungers would have been a nice touch, pool was refreshing, food was very good and reasonably priced, the included breakfast was among the best ive had, many options cooked to order.

Spacious room, excellent restaurant (La Abigail). Pool water was not always clear. Restaurant had nice outdoor seating. AC was not on inside the restaurant and it needed to be. Staff was very helpful. Strong surf, swimming not recommended. Beautiful sunsets.

This property has the potential to be an excellent place. It is out dated with few options during your stay. most of the staff were not very friendly, this place could draw a significant amount of people with more activities available. This is relatively a private beach but with nothing to do. A bar placed down by the beach with some sort of rentals. The online advertisements say “free cabanas “ they are delapitated and broke down. The beaches are dirty, if they would clean the beaches up and set up some resources for tourists to use more people would frequent this location.

I liked the fact that it was secluded with NO traffic or shops just peace and quiet with very few people on the beach. A great breakfast menu on the verenda with happy birds and the ocean in background. A great reset for the mind and soul. Two pools that were never crowded maybe a little understaffed but service was great and everybody was happy. There was no in room safe that worked but they are working on replacing them with new ones. I will definately retun when I go back to panama. Also down the beach is a sea turtle sanctuary and if one is lucky in timing you get to watch the release. I was and it was an experiance one will never forget.

The property was probably beautiful in its prime when it was first created, but at this point, it is completely dilapidated. Everything has been overlooked and neglected as far as maintenance of the grounds and landscaping. Anything that’s metal on the building is rusted and falling apart. The pool was not maintained and green. Everything seems to be breaking and no attention to detail appears to be important to management or the owners. The staff on the other hand is lovely. They appear to be doing the best that they can under such conditions. I’m sure they get plenty of complaints and it’s not their fault. It felt like it’s been abandoned. I booked it based on the pictures on the internet and what I found when I arrived was completely different. I feel like a victim of false advertising. If you’ve changed your standards then your pictures and advertising should be changed to reflect the current state of the hotel. I would not recommend booking this establishment.

The property has a lot of potential, however, it is understaffed. Rooms do not have phones to contact front desk and there is no staff past 9PM. There was a cockroach in my room, blood stain on the sheets. The remote for the tv did not work and there wasn't any staff available to replace it or to help in any way.

At first I went with the quirks of a \"resort\" that appears to have been unimproved nor updated in several years. Remotes for the tv and a/c were distributed at check-in with explicit instructions to return them in the same Ziploc bag. The walls in my room were cracked, damaged, and the paint was peeling. The mattress was poor. The mattress cover was ripped. The towels and sheets were stained. The grounds were in poor condition. The fitness center equipment was old. The bar at the pool was never open. The poolside chairs and tables were filthy. The beach cabanas were worthless. The beach lounge seats did not exist. I knew I was in a remote part of Panama, so I made do. However, check-out changed my mindset. I was informed I had stained a pillow case blue and a $7.50 charge had been added to my room. I explained I had not even one blue item in my possession and the stain could not have originated from me. I shared the condition of my room and the stained linens. The resort claimed no knowledge of any needed repairs in any guest room or area. I returned to my room to take pictures. The 4 pillowcases from my room had been removed. When I returned to the desk, I was informed they were charging me for 3 more stained pillowcases. The manager refused to speak to me directly. The person at the desk was also a victim of the manager's scam. I had no option other than to accept the charges. Stay away. Just, stay away.

Not really as advertised, this was probably a very nice place back in it’s time but is in need of updating. Pool bar never did open. No chairs in the beach area. Room looked like it had just been painted from fire damage, but I don’t know that for sure. The bed was very uncomfortable and the bug in it didn’t seem to happy about being kicked out. His friends in the shower were not pleased with us either. The staff was very apologetic and did refund me $25.00. We only stay 1 night of a planed 2 nights. A positive was the breakfast and the morning staff, both were excellent. We have travelled lots in Panama and know bugs are a fact of life here but I draw the line at sharing a bed with them..

Beautiful location, beach is amazing, long lava rock beach that is beautiful to walk on. Very strong undercurrent so not super safe for swimming.

Resort rooms are clean and comfortable. Resort only has one pool but calls it three, no loungers out at pool or ocean. Poolside bar is not open, felt very deserted.

Staff were great, very attentive, able to support gluten allergy in restaurant.

This place is a mess. No staff. I’ts basically one man show.
TV and Wifi didn’t work. They had to change our room.
Beakfast is not open before 9am.
Toilet stopped working on our second day and it took a while for them to fix.

There is no security in the hotel. Basically anyone can drive in ot out. The gate was always empty for our 72hr stay.
Complete disaster. Please don’t stay here.

The staff was nice and welcoming. The room and hotel are older but very clean and good hot water with comfortable beds. We enjoyed the pool, sitting on our patio, walking to the beach, listening to the waves. Our dinner was delicious!
We are moving to Boquete and definitely will be taking advantage of the day pass or yearly membership so that we can enjoy the premises and have more delicious meals.

Actually very pleasant other then the long check in and the room unbearable and musty until the air conditioning ran for awhile. The room was a bit run down but the pool was nice and the black sand beach very enjoyable for playing in the sand and waves.

This hotel was terrible. Bad slow service at the pool bar you have to beg for attention in the restaurant at the other side of hotel. Black hairs in the shower, crockroaches in the bedroom and bottom of the pool, algae and dirt oily in both pools very filthy we had concerns so we left the same day we arrived! Absolute disappointment.

The receptionist was difficult and rude. The back porch was dirty and the chairs had to be wiped of before sitting in them. That was night time and this morning this with sunlight all the fecal matter and mold could be seen. I was going to swim in the pool but it appeared to be full of insect bodies. The breakfast was amazing and the waiter and waitress were excellent..
I have stayed here many times and it was always a good experience. Not this time sorry to see a great place fall so low. I hope the owner reads this and tunes up the staff.

This is an older property and could use a little updating. That said our king room was very clean and spacious. The AC worked well which was important due to the weather being hotter than normal for this time of year. All the staff was very accommodating. They had enough English speaking staff to assist when needed and those that weren’t made every effort to work with us. The beach is a short walk on a stone path. The on-site restaurant was reasonable priced and easy to deal with. Will definitely stay here again on a return trip.

The room was nice, a bit dated. The grounds were groomed and the pools looked refreshing.
We started the evening at 5 in the bar but unless you wanted a margarita you were out of luck. They were out of everything. We moved to the dining room at 6. We were the only table outside of the owner's. Let's just say it must have been an off night. We finally left at 10pm. Service was extremely slow and the steak was raw and pork overcooked. No one came to check so no sending it back. Locals came in after us and were served before us. There was a table outside and they sat for atleast an hour just to get menus.

The hotel is very dated. The furniture, bedspreads, and curtains appear to be from the 1970's. The decor desperately needs updating. The beds were very firm and the mattress has a plastic liner below the sheet. I tried to get breakfast, but there was no staff in the restaurant at 9:30am. The bar by the pool was akways closed. The waves of the ocean are very strong so we could not swim in the ocean. Not a great beach vacation location.

Some scratches here and there, definitely not in an as-new-condition. Windows in our room were permanently not to open since a little piece that should lock the window was missing. Instead of replacing this missing piece, the originally sliding window frames were \"fixed\" with screws.
No idea why these concrete plates around the pool had large gaps in between. Most likely there supposed to grow grass, but it did not. Uncomfortable to walk on.
The key only unlocked the back door, not the front door to the sea. That made it uncomfortable and uneasy to lock/unlock doors since one sometimes had to go around the building to unlock/lock the other door.
At 6 in the morning staff pushed service carts with towels and cleaning stuff in front of the doors over tiles and gaps: click-click-click-... Why don't you replace the plastic wheels with rubber wheels and let your customers sleep?!

Prices in the restaurant were reasonable. Staff was friendly.

We LOVED to be able to play tennis every day - the courts are in good shape and no one else was playing. There are tennis pros available for lessons who are exellent. It was really nice to be by the ocean, but unfortunately it is somewhat dangerous to swim there due to the undertow. So we stayed by the pool. The staff were very nice, but had so many responsibilities that it was hard for them to do things in a timely fashion.

This place has lost its' zest...I went with my family once a year for the last 4 years (and this time was the last) and the quality has dropped drastically. The rooms are filthy and has huge roaches and lots of hungry mosquitos.
The pool is cleaned of frogs almost every morning, and the bar staff are a mess; they argue with each other (in front of customers) and do not have a clue on who is serving what table/guest.

And lastly, I enjoy Panamanians (I'm married to one); but hotel recently seems to sell A LOT of day passes (mainly weekends) to locals who do not have any manners. Some locals went to the terrace of the room i paid for and started taking the tables/chairs; plugging in their iphones, and even blasting music from their portable speaker from my terrace. Unbelievable !!!!

Then to make matters worse and to top off my weekend stay there; some locals decided to put a couple of drinks charged to my room. I'm not a hotel owner, but its basic to ask for room number and last name for verification...I was told this simple questioning (the name part) wasn't done by the serving bartender at the time and he would pay that bill (bummer for him, since their pay is around $20/day...the stolen tab was $30...that is a day and half from his pay).

This place was once on the top of my list, but now I'd rather sleep in a run down motel instead of here.

In need of a serious upgrade. Pool area is small, beach is cluttered with debris, parking and grounds need work. It felt like almost an abandoned property when we drove up. Weeds growing in parking lot, etc. Rooms are very basic, with non working WIFI in rooms.

Also, very remote--nothing to do in the area. NO restaurants other than resort (which was very mediocre), and just very little activity. Kind of a depressing place in need of an infusion of cash to develop the area into a viable resort. So much potential here, but much work is needed!

Very nice facility and staff. We came for a brief stay by the ocean and found Las Olas to be a great spot to relax and enjoy.
There was no problem with an early arrival (we arrived at 2 pm). The room was was clean and all sheets and towel fresh.
Easy walk from the ocean facing room to the beach. Because we came mid-week in September the place was not crowded so we found it relaxing here.
Loved seeing their turtles. Noted one young guest having fun on the playground near one of the two pools where the adults from her group were.
Topped of the night with drinks and desserts at The hotel restaurant.
There are several activities available near - horseback riding, visiting a natural perseve, etc. - but we were only here for a day at the beach.

Great service and food

Great to be away and quiet. Maps sent us by a bad road in the dark of the night, but next day discovered better routes. Food is incredible and staff willing to provide the best service every second. Beautiful beach but combination of waves and black sand not our favorite, so we had to settle with some pool time.
