Check in went smoothly, got to our room to discover we did not get our upgrade, the gentleman later was nice and gave us the upgrade, we wanted the upgrade as that's where the coffee was, however, if you want more then the two capsules they give you, they charge you! The room was fine, bar was nice, but amenities were terrible

Great modern clean hotel with great room service and dining option.
I choose this hotel because I had a rental car and most of the options especially near the Old Town had little to no parking.
I was easily able to find unpaid parking at the hotel. It also was a 10m drive to Old Town with some low cost parking garages nearby the historical points of interest.
I was easily able to park and walk around Old Town to see all of the sites.
I had room service back at the hotel for dinner and the food was fantastic.

So it’s a great hotel with a fantastic swimming pool area. Easily walkable from the historic district.couple of things let it down. Housekeeping don’t refill the nespresso capsules and you have to pay 1€ each for them (never had to do this before), they also don’t take away empty bottles etc. The bed was always perfectly made up and the towels replaced. The gym is well equipped but strangely does not have air con which was a disadvantage as the temperature was 35 degrees. . Overall though it’s a great place and I would stay there again.

Stopped for one night en route to the Algarve. Very modern and clean hotel at a reasonable price. Our room (on 5th floor) was superb. Much appreciated the underground parking. Reception staff friendly and very helpful. Breakfast excellent with wide choice and good value. Although out of town, easy to drive in to Caceres for an evening out. Only negative was lack of evening dining facilities. One expensive restaurant that doesn’t open until 8.30pm or bar snacks. But otherwise, extremely good.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel room was clean. I had to upgrade to a different room to be able to have a coffee machine in the room (we're addicts). When we asked for extra coffee we were told that it would cost us more for that. I felt a bit \"nickeled and dimed\". The breakfast buffet was very nice. The staff there were very sweet. We walked to the mall which was close by. The sites were a little further so we drove. Overall, a very nice hotel.

Great place to stay if you don't need to be in the centre of Caceres. Amazing choice of food and drink for breakfast, including bubbly! Friendly staff. Lovely big swimming pool. There's also a gym, but didn't go near that!, instead we walked into the town everyday which was a good half hour walk. There's also a regular bus service five mins walk away which gets you into town for just over a euro.
Agree to not have your room cleaned and you get 5 euros off your bar bill each night!
Only minus would be the choice of food for vegetarians on the bar menu, there's nothing unless you have the ham, egg and chips and don't eat the ham.

4-Night Stay in February

Overall, the hotel is very clean and comfortable. The breakfast is plentiful and delicious. The grounds were nice, although is was winter so we didn't use them.
Beware that there is no sign saying the indoor parking is 17€ per day. We learned the hard way. As the garage door opened with our key card and there are no signs either at reception or anywhere in the garage that you have to pay for indoor parking, we assumed it was included.
Our reservation on Hotels.com mentioned we would get a king-size bed. Upon arrival, we were told we had to pay extra to reserve a room with a king-size bed.
Lastly, if we chose not to get our room cleaned, we would get 5€ per day in credit (we assumed this was to our reservation) but it is in fact to be used at the hotel during your stay.

Sometimes, you get great photos of hotels online only to discover that they must have been taken years ago when the hotel was newly refurbished, but we weren’t disappointed on arrival. The reception staff was very helpful, attentive and courteous. He even helped to bring in our luggage from the car into the lobby. For us it was a stopgap between driving down from Santander to Estepona. Our room was clean and modern. The attractive gardens and outside terrace have sun beds & loungers around the pool. Dinner was good. The only negative was surprisingly the bar manager, whose attitude was appalling. On our arrival, my wife and 90-year old mother-in-law asked for directions to the toilets. The bar manager was very dismissive and abrupt, telling them to wait until he had finished pouring a drink for another guest. After a long trip in the car, all they were asking for was the location of the toilets. His manner and tone was very rude. Even when he realised that we were guests, his manner didn’t change throughout the evening. His other staff must have noticed his rudeness and went out of their way to be professional and courteous. However, we won’t let one person ruin our experience and would be happy to rebook upon our return trip back to the U.K. in a few weeks time!

Great overnight for family of 4!

Booked a junior suite for our family of 4. There were 2 rooms in the suite, plenty of space for all of us. Bathroom had 3 separate areas/rooms, a soak tub, rain shower and toilet space. Pool was closed for the season but looked amazing. The hotel staff were very helpful, providing information about the area including a map with walking and driving routes, and suggestions on where to park for the best rates. Breakfast was fantastic. Hotel is about 10 min drive from the old town.

A nice hotel on the outskirts of town. Paid for an upgraded room with balcony. Need not have bothered as balcony overlooked the motorway and was unusable. Otherwise room was extremely comfortable with superb kingsize bed. Breakfast OK but not fantastic. Stayed here a few months ago and it was much better.

So the location wasn’t in a good spot at all hard to get to and the room was smaller than what seem to be in the pictures on the website. Me and wife were very disappointed by this didn’t feel like a vacation at all more like I motel 6 in a far away place in Spain.
Requesting refund we didn’t spend the nite and we check out as soon as we arrived. Jesus is the manger we spoke to.

Great central location within walking distance of old town. Great restaurant for dinner and they served a fabulous breakfast for only 10€ pp. staff especially helpful and had Spanish and English speaking front desk staff, which was very helpful to book out
Further accommodations at next hotel. Complimentary champagne in the lobby daily. Beds are comfy and shower full of hot water. Coffee maker in the room. Soundproof windows, added to our comfort. Would definitely recommend.

We have been touring Spain for 3 weeks now and have had our best experience at the Barcelona in Caceres. Dinner at the restaurant has been exceptional each night. We had the menu del dia,a real value for 20€. Breakfast has been the best we have had on our trip. With a fine selection of ham, salamis, eggs, pate', cereals. Tortas, cheeses, and other delectable dishes.

Wonderful hotel in great, ancient town

This hotel is definitely a 5 Star hotel!! While not in walking distance of the old part of the city, it is a short drive away and there is plenty of cheap parking. Only complaint about the hotel s was the thermostats. They seemed to have a mind of their own... We had two rooms and neither one functioned as expected. Easily solved by opening the beautiful giant windows

When in Caceres stay here and thank me later

This is my second time staying at this hotel, and I must admit, the place is great, I highly recommend it.

This hotel has it all (multilingual front desk, parking on site, pool [outdoor], gym [small], a restaurant and small bar. This place is once again very good.

The food from the restaurant is very good, as well as bar menu, both combined make this restaurant/bar a very good choice for food even if you are not staying at this hotel, and Jesus (waiter), the man is an excellent waiter, I mean he goes above and beyond to make sure you have a great time.

The hotel rooms are big and spacious, the bathroom as well, the entire room is very clean, the beds comfortable, really this place is outstanding.

If you ever visit Caceres, do yourself a favor and stay here, you will not be disappointed, in my case I was here on business, but, I would definitely come back and stay with my family or friends.

This was our second time we stayed at the Barcelo Caceres V Centenario.

They upgraded the hotel interior since the last stay in July 2017.
They gym at the hotel is better than nothing, and I was able to keep working out while I was there. Summertime is better than the Wintertime, because you can play in the pool during Summer.
The hotel restaurant and bar have different items to eat. The steak taste in Spain differs from the USA taste, so getting a hamburger at the bar suited my taste buds better. But my coworker said the fish entrees were wonderful. I recommend paying to park in the underground parking, especially in Winter. I will stay here again the next time I'm here.

Stayed 4 nights as central location for touring surrounding towns. Room was lovely and comfortable. Pool area exceptionally well maintained. Restaurant and bar food and service were very good except for failure to serve one ordered dish. Complimentary rosé cava in the lobby during the day was truly unexpected and for us a real plus. Meals were good and reasonably priced. We speak almost no Spanish but everyone did his best to make us feel welcome and comfortable. Only negatives were the location on the road around the city with a difficult to find entry and the cost of parking in the garage. For some who might stay for relaxation and lounging at the pool, a crowded pool, especially on the weekend, could also be a negative. Overall we were very comfortable and the room was exceptional for the price.

The hotel is lovely with welcoming staff. Our booked room wasn’t big enough for us and two kids so we got an upgrade for only 10 euros. Room was excellent with large pine cot bed for our 2 yr old and very comfortable large bed. Great shower and balcony. Pool area was nice and hotel location close to mall, fast food, petrol station and supermarket with only 5 mins to motorway.
