The staff were super nice and helpful to us! They gave us a voucher for an ice cream and wine pairing at Clos Malverne which was so delightful! They also gave us suggestions to some of the best wineries and a map to find them. The free breakfast was very good with cooked choices as well as a cold buffet. The room was very good and had great air conditioning. The location was perfect with so many restaurants on the same street. We would definitely stay here again.

We had room 30 which is noisy being above the kitchen/oven, although the air vent does go quiet around midnight. It’s a compact room but the bed is comfy, and the air con works well, as does the telly! The hotel is in a great central position with a lively street scene, the reception staff are excellent and very friendly and we were given a lot of help in the car park and with the bags. The food in the restaurant is tasty and there is a good choice at breakfast although it seems a bit chaotic with no one really advising customers how it all works. We were very happy with our two day stay.

Cute central hotel for stellenbosch. The staff were just so warm, friendly and kind; made us feel very welcome. The hotel has history and is in a good location if you want to be central to the bars, restaurants and shops. A tad dated; ready for a refresh, but very clean and perfectly comfortable; slept well. Would stay here again.

For the price, you can't beat this place. Staff is very attentive, both administrative and cleaning staff. The location is perfectly situated in central stellenbosch next to all of the great restaurants the town has to offer. Not to mention their buffet breakfast is amazing. You can’t find better in Stellenbosch!

Absolutely wonderful on every count. Lionel welcomes us as if old friends, and although perfectly professional he made us feel at home. Surprised by a wonderful upgrade to a fabulous 2-bedroom apartment which was spacious, perfectly appointed and spotlessly clean. The baths offered strong showers and included all those little amenities one needs when traveling. The kitchen is set up for an ideal self-catering stay, however the restaurant in the hotel is fantastic so if you don’t feel like cooking yourself I’d highly recommend a lunch or dinner there.
The bedrooms were quiet, and the bedding wonderfully soft rivaling some of the considerably more expensive hotels in which I’ve stayed in the past. A wonderful 2 nights sleep!
All in all I can’t say enough positive things about the hotel and once again, much appreciation to Lionel and Florence in reception who made what would have been an ideal stay even better!

We've never booked a hotel in Stellenbosch due to the fact that my husband was born and raised there and we've always had relatives to stay with. The staff at the Stellenbosch Hotel gave us a renewed appreciation for this beautiful town because they were so experienced and thoughtful. Even when we arrived at 1 AM, they were attentive and welcoming. During our entire visit this attentiveness never wavered. Anything we ordered to our room arrived immediately with a smile. We also highly recommend the daily breakfast / brunch. It's like a smorgasbord!

Lovely hotel in the centre. Super breakfast, unfortunately eggs are cold as they often are when kept in a hot plate but they will happily fry fresh ones for you . The fresh coffee is so good so worth signing the to make you one. Our room had a repaired bidet and the taps were loose in the sink but that didn’t really worry us too much. Local village museum worth visiting.

Such a pity,good location but needs work

A hotel in need of a revamp, better parking facilities and competitive pricing. Even better lighting will help its ambience. The walkway from the parking, reception area and hallway leading to the rooms is dark and dingy.
The parking situation is a huge problem! Guests are asked to double park and then asked to leave cars keys at reception. I wasn't prepared to do this and was disturbed twice to move my car. Very annoying!
The breakfast was satisfactory. Nothing out of this world except the waitress delivered great attention to detail and service to us.
Also, the costing of the hotel is completely not worth the stay. I was lucky I had a hotels.com voucher and only paid in a small amount. I am sure if I paid the full value this review would be even longer!
Such a pity the experience was not great as the location is perfect and close to all amenities in Stellenbosch.

Very impressed with the manager. We had been \"randomly selected\" to be put in a neighbouring (5 star) hotel but we found the room to be too small. The manager moved us to a 2 bedroom apartment, didn't charge us for our dinner and checked that we were happy. Excellent attitude to customer service.

This is a nice place to stay in town. It is surrounded by restaurants and shops, and a short Uner ride to the vineyards. The staff was very friendly, especially the servers in the Stellenbosch restaurant. The only complaint is that a fan, or some sort of HVAC mechanics, continuously ran throuhout the night, and as a light sleeper, I did not sleep. In addition the rooms open to a central courtyard where everyone passes through creating additional sounds and sometimes at 2 am.

As a lady of 70+ travelling alone this hotel was a gem. The staff especially Lionel and Philip looked after me very well. My room was spotless and the breakfasts were excellent. The restaurant staff served the excellent food perfectly and with kindness. I have never stayed in a better hotel. I felt secure and valued. Stellenbosch is lovely for a short break but stay in this hotel if you want excellent service.
