Great place for get away from the city, excellent food and rooms are comfortable and clean. Very professional staff specially Maria on the reception welcoming area and Martin our waiter he was very friendly and willing to help. The only bad thing it’s the boats who comes on a daily basic full of people and crowds the beach otherwise it’s a nice place.

We left took so much time to even get help with staff on how to arrive bus or boat since August I tried with them. We had to book a boat that cost so much and then food was so limited barely any. We left after the upstairs peoples made insane noise til 3 with moving tables and chairs and kids screaming

We were unable to make our stay at this hotel so have not rated any amenities apart from service which was incredibly poor - I am still awaiting a response to 5 messages sent to the hotel. In order to attempt to communicate with the hotel I completed a trip advisor review which was responded to in 20 minutes in which the hotel claimed to have no communication with myself or hotels.com. I had sent 5 messages to their hotel team from the e-mail on the website and hotels.com had spoken to front desk more than once. The rating is for very bad customer service and total lack of transparency.

This is located on an island so the only way to get here is via boat. You can travel via car but not as convenient, you still need the boat to get from car to island. It is very peaceful, staff very friendly. Expedia mislead us to say it was all inclusive which isn't true. They only cover 3 meals a day but you have to pay for lunch when you arrive. The food quality is weaker than the walled city but comparably more expensive. Alcohol is not included. The entire experience was very relaxing and quiet. This was probably the best part.

For the price we paid per night ($600 for a family of 4), the food was really pretty poor.
It was disappointing and the worst we had on our 3 week trip to Colombia.
No options for kids. We were told every lunch would be buffet, only one out of four ended up being buffet. We were given the a la carte menu to choose from, whilst this may sound appealing, there was only one starter and four mains. Fish was terrible, such a shame for being on an island.
Every night, you had to endure the music from the village. One night it went on until 4am.
I would recommend staying on the smaller islands where the water is clear and calm.

We had a nice stay at Hotel Islas del Encanto. It may not be for everyone. The rooms are very clean and the beds are quite nice by American standards (and we are picky). The bathrooms in most rooms are semi-outside but private, so not air conditioned or enclosed from bugs, but really there were few mosquitos. The staff are super friendly although not all have great English, but they are so nice it makes up for it. The biggest drawback would be the limited beach as they send you on a boat trip if you want a better beach, and limited activities. The saltwater pool is really nice with a waterfall and swim-up bar, and there is plenty of filtered water. The other drawback is the food is all included in the price (not drinks, but that was well warned), but the food is so-so. We ate much better in Bogota and Cartagena, like juices did not seem fresh squeezed for instance, breads were doughy, etc. But very relaxing and quiet and if you have rustic expectations you will enjoy it. Sunsets over the ocean are spectacular! Also do the aviary tour and the plankton tour, but negotiate on price as they know they are overcharging!

Had a wonderful stay. It was the middle of Nov and we had the resort to ourselves. Not too many day trippers. Several tips. Bring bug spray at sunrise and sunset they are out. The sea is clear only when it is not windy. All water is brought to the resort by a boat tanker. If the resort tank is low so is the pressure and limited hot water.

Really boring no entertainment at all after 7pm is like a dessert you have to go to the room, because you can’t leave the island. The drinks menu they tell you one price and the menu says another price, they told us the menu was wrong. Is 1 hours 30 minutes away from everywhere. The water is not blue like in the pictures.

Like others mentioned , the water is a bit murky and green, not clear blue it is still calm and pretty. We loved using the free paddle boards and kayaks .

We didn’t love having day trippers take over the beach at 10-2 so we went to the pool during that time . There are some people selling jet ski rides and jewelry near the beach but they mostly wait for you to approach them .

Lovely views from the restaurant . They have a few vegetarian options that were tasty. We had an issue with the server and the vegetarian food that was resolved quickly and very kindly by the manager of restaurant and hotel.

We loved the snorkel trip . It was so lovely. We hope in the future the guides would talk about importance of conservation and remind people not to step on the coral .

Our son 11 year old loved this place and we liked it . We would return . It was overall a nice relaxing place to spend time .

Beach is not the biggest and due to its location and depending on weather, the water can get mixed up and not be as turquoise as other beaches in the area.

First of all It is NOT an all inclusive. They don’t have something as simple as a coffee maker in the room. The employees/ activity venders want to take advantage of prices. Note be careful cause we bought a package for activity excursions & paid a lot of $$$ & did not get what was promised. Also there is no shop no anything in this island & they don’t offer snacks & if you want anything & would like to leave the island to nearby town they want to charge you an arm & a leg to just take you. The place is beautiful but you must know you will be paying lots of out of pocket $$$ on a place that it’s supposed to be “all inclusive”. Will NEVER go again. If anything look into playa Blanca a nearby hotel much better than this one.

A truly wonderful few days at this gorgeous property. The boat ride to the property from Cartagena was a beautiful one hour trip. Welcome drinks and friendly staff greeted us upon arrival. Our villa overlooking the pool and sea was modern and comfortable with very quiet and effective air conditioning, that was necessary as the afternoon heat was impressive. Three meals per day are included and they were tasty, well prepared and large portions that were served by friendly staff. Note that alcohol is NOT included in the rate, so be prepared to pay extra for any cocktails or wine. The neighboring village was a bit loud at night as the street party went until the early morning hours, but it was a LOT more quiet than the street parties in Cartagena. Overall a great spot that was very well maintained, relaxing with great food and great service. We would highly recommend for a relaxing escape after busy days being a tourist in Cartagena.

It was a wonderful stay from start to finish. Service was incredible, food delicious, rooms amazing. Only downside was that I didn’t think to bring bug repellent. Mosquitos were bad early am and evening so we were unable to use our balcony at all and had to get out of the pool by 5:00pm. This was in November at the end of rainy season, so it makes sense that there were mosquitos, just an oversight on my part. Hope this tidbit helps someone be better prepared.

This property was beautiful. The only thing I didn't like was not having a free option of transportation off of the island when i wanted to go explore. However the overall stay was nice and the staff were very kind. Also make sure to take bug spray the mosquitoes were very bad and
I got bit up alot.

This resort is absolutely amazing. We came on a family of 7 adults vacation in late September. The staff treated us like family.

No reservations for dinner necessary. Our table was set for our 4 rooms every meal. Which was a way too much food. Three course for every meal. Wow.

What to know before you go.
1) they provide transportation there and back from Cartagena, however the time of arrival and departure was not disclosed on booking. Typically they pick up at noon(be there at 11) and they depart at 3:00. The thing to remember is, it’s by boat and dependent on weather conditions. We ended up having to book a private boat back because of our flights. $450 USD.

2) all inclusive includes a breakfast buffet. A 3 course lunch with choices. Usually salad or soup, followed by a choice of 3 entrees and several choices of dessert.

3)it is extremely hot and especially humid in September. September and October is a low season. Very few people there, including day trippers. There were only 5 or 6 rooms besides our family.(conservative estimate). Locals told me the resort is packed jAnuary to April.

4) when booking I understood there was a beach for hotel guests and one day trippers. There are separate pools, bar and food area for guests, but the actual beach is for both. You can access the ocean from the reserved pool area, but not the beach. Wasn’t crowded so no issues.

Family of four (two adults, two kids- 8 and 11) from California stayed four days. Really nice location, nice pools, felt very safe. Nice rooms. Beautiful grounds.

However, the all-inclusive at Hotel Encanto appeared to our family to mean \"all- mediocre.\"

There is no drinking water onsite from the faucets or from water filtration systems. The resort provides one, ten oz. bottle of water at breakfast, one at lunch and one at dinner. Period. Beyond those thirty ounces of drinking water per person, per day, you have to buy. For a 500 mL bottle (about 17 ounces) they charge about two dollars. For a family of four, this significantly added up over the course of our stay. It was also just kinda of philosophically insulting for a \"four star resort.\"

Good side: great bartenders. Super knowledgeable, great drinks. These folks know how to make exceptional cocktails.

Disappointment: the food. Very limited options, and guess what? No other options. There is no where else to go anywhere geographically, to eat a different meal. If food is not a big deal to you, then this should not dissuade you.

Skip the snorkeling tour (really), and make sure you don't want to cut your trip short. By day three we asked to leave the island- no refunds and a private boat costs $400. We stayed our final day.

For the prices they are charging, I would advise folks to head to Mexico or Costa Rica for much better options at the same price point.

It was a lovely stay. Very relaxing with enough entertainment from the sea and the several pools. Also the in the pool bar was a nice touch and Andres made fantastic pisco sours!
One unfortunate aspect was the arrival. Seeing that we came with another family from Cali, we arrived by plane at 1200. Surprisingly the resort did not offer any transport and the call center were no real help. Maria Garcia, Jose and Diana were not helpful in helping us solve the problem. Instead they wanted to over charge us for a private bus ride or we had to figure it out by ourselves. One even had the audacity of saying that we should walk! Considering the price of the resort, one would expect better transportational services all day round and certainly more professional staff at the call center. Perhaps them participating a week as staff at the resort to better understand the professional standards would benefit them.
The staff at the resort were extremely professional, helpful and always accommodating. This surely gave us a relaxing and luxurious stay.

When I was looking for a place for us to stay in the Rosario Islands around Christmas, the Isla del Encanto was the only property that had availability and I thought it was a little pricey. But, after staying two nights, it was well worth the money. The location is beautiful and we watched the sunset over the Caribbean Sea. The amenities were great and the service from the staff could not have been better. One thing to consider is that the price includes meals, which were mostly delicious. And we got transported from/to Cartagena by a speedboat, which made the property seem even more exclusive. Our only complaint was that we arrived on Christmas Day and there was loud music coming from celebrations in the nearby town of Baru that lasted until midnight. But we didn't hear it the next night so it may have just been due to the holiday. I highly recommend this property.

We spent a few days in this hotel & it was beautiful. If you want a party scene, this hotel is not for you. If you want peace, & relaxation, then this is the place. The hotel is small & that’s what makes it peaceful; it’s a very tropical vibe . We stayed in a bungalow with a modern setup: AC, TV, shower with hot water. The pool was beautiful with beds to lay down in & gaze at the ocean. The beach is small but not too small plenty of loungers to relax in. The beach is a hit or miss. First day it wasn’t too clear with few seaweed (due to rain) ; the next day it was really clear and calm waters. Either way each day we spent hours on the beach, warm waters hardly any waves. We loved it. The staff was AMAZING. William in the restaurant was wonderful very attentive, polite & pleasant to talk to. At all times William always went above & beyond during our stay. Alfonso was also fantastic! All the staff was great they make sure you are happy and taken care of. The food is to die for, so delicious. I still dream about it to this day. It’s semi all inclusive. You get breakfast lunch and dinner but it’s at specific times, so you can’t eat just whenever you want, honestly it wasn’t a problem as the meal portions were extremely generous. They have room service but we never used it. To get there is by boat 1 hr, or car is about 1.5 hrs roads are pretty good a few bumps but not bad. Juan Camilo our driver was nice & informative; felt safe the whole time on the roads. Definitely WILL be back!

We stayed here for 4 nights after a bunch of adventure travel around the Cartagena area. We are a couple with a 2 year old. This was a perfect ending for our trip. The place is immaculate, our kiddo didn't wear shoes the entire time. Rodolfo and Samuel, as well as William and Mayra were SENSATIONAL at the restaurant- they helped us ensure we had meals that worked with our toddler's midday nap, and vegetarian options galore. They really came up with so many delicious veggie options. Our room was spacious and clean, beautiful view. The whole hotel was a great balance between family-friendly and not just-for-kids. I could see coming here as a couple just as comfortably. The pools were so comfortable and lovely. We also went and did a family photoshoot with the onsite photographer- it was so efficient with great and easy results. It was such a fantastic stay, and just the right amount of intimacy and luxury. I see some complaints here about noise from the neighboring town- while we did hear it faintly some nights, it was really not an issue. We travel with a sound machine, and never even plugged it in. Highly highly recommend.

The one thing we did not like was the ride via a bus to the island. I think it took us way longer then via a boat because the return to the main city was quicker. The hotel itself was very clean and beautiful. The massages were amazing and the staff was wonderful. Kelly our waitress was amazing, we loved her! Thanks to the whole staff on the island for the amazing service.

The best part of the hotel are the staff members. They are always willing to help and trying to make the guests feel welcome. I would like to name some of them, Omar, Maria Nela, WIlliam, Kevin, Luis and, Alfonso.
The rooms are nice, but it would be great to add a wardrobe and thin curtains to let some light in.
The swimming pools should be cleaned more often and the music coming from the bar there, turned down. There are too many daily visitor for the size of the beach.

Food was great but alcohol and anything outside of what’s provided is way above price. Coronas are 21.000, bag of chips that normal cost 2.000 are quadruple the price. Staff are amazing and attentive. I think for the price we paid for $950 plus $250 for two days I could have gone somewhere better! I.e. Cancun all inclusive!

The place is amazing and the service is great!!!
All the people working there always smiling and willing to help.
There is not much to do on the island and in the resort other than the beach, swimming pool, restaurant and hotel bar... there are no activities at all.
The water in the shower has no pressure at all, the water are literally dripping, but at least there are hot water.
Mosquito repellent is necessary!!!

Pricey, but for the most part worth it

Our trip fell smack dab in the middle of the Coronavirus pandemic, so we felt very lucky to be on the island during that time.

The rooms are nice, the facility beatiful (and empty-ish due to the aforementioned pandemic). The food is pretty good, too.

We would recommend, but the price is quite a bit higher than most places in Colombia, so be ready to shell out a bit more than normal.

For reference, a Club Comobia beer is 13,000 colombian pesos, and a cuba libre will set you back about 26,000 pesos, so this adds up very quickly.
